Excellent food. Good vegetarian choice. Peswari Nann was delicious. Very friendly staff. Got a complimentary Bailey's to finish which was nice. Will be back despite not being especially local.

Late decision to eat out. Royston not local for us but a friend mentioned this was a good place to eat. They were not wrong. Great veggie choices and really friendly staff. Will definitely go back.

Called in tonight looking for a table for one. It was much busier than I expected it to be considering how cold it is outside. Thank you for setting me, giving up a table for 4 people when you were clearly very busy. I really enjoyed my lovely Lamb Madras and a couple of pints of Kingfisher whilst sat in a lovely atmosphere, reasonably priced too! One to remember when I'm passing again.

Easily the best curry you’ll get in north Hertfordshire and the staff are truly lovely!

It's been a while since I wrote a review of Ashiana Spice and l pleasingly once again it can be very positive. The staff were as welcoming as ever and the food as good as ever. As an indication that you can't please all the people all the time, the Prawn Puree was a bit different to when we've had it previously. I loved it but my wife was a little disappointed, not that she didn't like it, but she preferred the previous versions. We both loved everything else we had. We even got chatting to a lovely young couple on the next table which made the evening all the more enjoyable.

Went to Ashiana and was surprised at how busy it was for a weeknight, but could see why. Food was great, having had the onion bhajee and chicken Nawabi, which were both very flavourful. I have to give credit to the front of house especially. Iqbal was an incredible front of house, very chatty and inviting, remembering names of those we were and really making you feel cherished as a customer. Really went the extra distance with the dining in experience.

Been to Ashiana a good few times now and absolutely love it 😊.. if you want fab food and a great fun atmosphere this is definitely the place to go .. Iqbal is so much fun and makes the whole place a good laugh, all the staff are lovely .. I have no idea how Iqbal remembers everyone’s names but he does which gives the added personal touch .. it’s great to see different tables interact with each other because the whole place is a vibe .. music and dancing .. an all round great night always !! Ps the prices are very reasonable too 😊 thanks for always being the best place to go 😊

Just happened upon this restaurant after a visit to Imperial War museum at Duxford. This restaurant is up there with the best of them. Seemed to be on 1st name terms with lots of regular customers. Very good food and an attentive staff. 5 Stars.

Best Indian restaurant I've ever been to, everything on the menu is delicious. Our always go to. The staff and Iqbal are the friendliest and nicest people on earth.

We had a fantastic meal here on Saturday evening. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was delicious and Ikbal was very entertaining and made us feel very welcome :) Highly recommend the Tabaq Chicken Bilash!

The owner, Iqbal, is almost certainly the best front of house in Royston, probably Hertfordshire and possibly the whole of East Anglia. I honestly don't know how he maintains his enthusiasm and personal attention, in what can be an extremely high pressure environment. It would be remiss of me not to mention the staff, who have all taken a leaf out of Iqbal's book and are equally attentive and friendly. Of course, you don't go to a restaurant simply for a nice chat. You want good food and Ashiana Spice delivers in spades. If you like authentic Indian food, do yourself a favour and go.

A fantastic curry house, their food that they serve is out of this world. A special mention to ikbal (ikky) and his staff who are really attentive and brings a smile to everyone in his reasteraunt. It's a must place to visit if you want an experience. From the Portsmouth Amigos.

Quick stop on a journey North. Could not fault it. Really busy, no surprise as both food and service we're excellent. Wish it was round the corner!

Delicious food and very friendly staff.

Very welcoming hospitality and carefully fanned white napkins and an extensive and interesting menu to choose from. Utterly delicious. I had the dry spiced charcoal grill prawns, and gobbled all the dips. A cute ice cream 🍦 /sorbet dessert menu and offering of a baileys shot on the way out. Allergy/intolerance friendly. Fair prices. Will go back just for the service. Well fed.

Always loved the food here. Now we live in Canada, but whenever we visit the UK. This is our 1st choice for dining out! Amazing food, and friendly people.

Myself & 3 Friends visited Ashiana for our monthly get together. We have been trying different Asian restaurants each month. All have had there good points. Ashiana ticked all the boxes,comfortable setting,light & air conditioned,dishes cooked beautifully, generous portions, well presented. Service pleasant & attentive. Our order was taken.We asked if dishes could be pepped up 🥵 Food was delivered Hot & exactly as individual requests. Keep up the standards. Well done we will be back.

Hi recommend, have been coming here since late 2019 and have never had a bad meal, wether dining in or taking away have no complaints and the food is of great quality. Prices are reasonable not expensive nor cheap but you get what you pay for. Keep up the good work guys and will alway get my vote and recommendation.

A fantastic little restaurant in Royston. Really friendly service with a team that seems intent on doing more than they need to. Food was also really well done, and the attentive staff made sure the main came out when I wanted it rather than some places that just fire it out when they are ready. Would definitely visit again. I also watched the team deal with other customers and they were always great with everyone. Thanks for a great experience.

What a lovely restaurant, service eas excellent - asked the waiter (Iqbal) to recommend a dish and was very impressed - superb food well presented and marvellous flavour. Would definitely eat here again - special thanks to the bar maid at the Old Bull who suggested I try it!

The food is sublime, which is a made all the better by Iqbal, who is charming and welcoming to everyone.

If there is a better Indian restaurant in the Royston area, I have yet to find it, The usual favourites available, but some very nice and interesting house specials, all perfectly cooked and presented by friendly and helpful staff. Nann breads ligt with a crispy base, perfect Sag Paneer, delightful mains that I cannot fault. Give it a try, I am sure you wont be dissappointed.

We’re Royston locals and this is our takeaway of choice! Fantastic food, prepared quickly, good value and a good selection of vegetarian dishes too. The service is always friendly. We’ve never dined in but it looks lovely and welcoming inside so we will hopefully dine in when lockdown is over.

I love a good curry but wow what great service and dining throughout! Service was quick and polite and the food was amazing! We went for a friends birthday and they do know how to treat a birthday boy!

Had a great evening here; food and service was of a high standard even though we were a table of 15. My lamb madras and peshwari naan were amazingly good but the impromptu 80's party with the manager at the end definitely was the icing on the cake 😅 thanks for a great time, we will be back.

This restaurant far exceeds the norm! Always top class customer service especially from Iqbal. He is warm,friendly and always interested .The food is always of a very high standard. Highly recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed.

Tidy bit of grub. We come to the end of the meal and my man very kindly offers us shots. We oblige. All I can say is he must of had more shots than I’ve had hot dinners. He keeps a shot glass ready for action in his pocket at all times. He loves the sauce. Great service will visit again. Happy New Years

We were let down by our previous choice of restaurant. And walked over to here. They fitted us in as they were busy and we had a superb night. Brilliant food and service and a great ambiance. From the popadums to the chutneys to the kebab starter and main courses. To a nice touch of a baileys on ice for my partner. A great meal and superb time

We stopped off here on route home after a long drive and all I can say is excellent. From the friendliness of the staff to the excellent food we were extremely impressed. Would recommend to anyone and we will be back.

Have been here many, many times, and it has been a bit ‘up and down’, sometimes excellent and others rather disappointing. Last night, under the new regime it was back to its very best. The new staff were very pleasant and worked hard to make sure the customer had an enjoyable experience. The food was delicious. No complaints.

Went for a late family dinner - staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more accommodating. We had one vegan in our party, our waiter made sure that his order was made with zero animal products and gave suggestions on what to order from the menu. Our food was delicious and came out promptly. I honestly couldn’t fault the place or the staff. We would definitely return here.

We went to the restaurant a couple of weeks ago and we were surprised that the waiters we knew had now been replaced as the restaurant had changed ownership. The food was a disappointment and nowhere nearly so tasty as in the past. We won’t be going again.

4 of us around 8:30, fast friendly service, great poppadoms, 3 beers glass wine, 4 starters, 4 mains, a few sides, 110 pounds . Good craic and good company.

Had a curry sunday early evening...didnt book as assumed it would be quiet. Arrived and nobody in so got a table...within 30 minutes the place was full.

Visited tonight with my parents. Lovely to see the restaurant so busy.No seating left so was seated upstairs. Nice environment and traditional music playing in the background. Fantastic service. Lovely welcoming attentive staff. Food well presented and hot. Full of flavour. Highly recommended. We will definitely be visiting again.

Usually I give this place good reviews the food is generally great. The last couple of times I have been here I have found the staff unfriendly, not rude but not engaging. The only person with a smile was the young lady serving behind the bar. There is definitely a different atmosphere since the owner has not been around. Also there is a change with some of the dishes I have ordered, as a take away. They have been so over salted they were all unpleasant, this has happened more than once and different dishes. If they have a new chef then he needs to understand people don't want over salted dishes. You can always add but you cannot take away salt from a dish. Something is definitely wrong. I hope it changes back to what it used to be like..

We use this restaurant a lot, ordered a take away the other day. Shah the owner is still away, I think this is telling the atmosphere was ok but not as friendly as when the owner is on sight. Lacked something but cannot put my finger on it. The food we ordered tasted ok, but there was a change here as well. My wife's dish tasted more like an oriental dish, quite sweet, not what we would expect. My main dish was extremely salty to the point of not being that pleasant. Something has changed I hope when Shah gets back things will get back to normal, as this is our favourite curry house in the area.

After eaten in many Indian restaurants in the UK this is certainly one of the best I have been to, the quality of food is superb & the staff are very friendly & will advise on the food if required, overall an excellent restaurant!

Stopped for a meal didn't book, decided to eat in instead of a take away. Really friendly staff on, as the owner was on holiday. Look after well, the food was all prepared fresh and tasted delicious, nice drinks list as well. Really nice evening one of the best.

We hadn't booked but a table was found for us upstairs. The food was good but I felt the sauce on my chicken rajistani was quite sweet. My husband enjoyed his food as he said he hadn't seen on any menu before.

We ordered a take away and was told it would be an hour, which we were fine with as it was Saturday night. I asked them to call me just in case it was done any earlier and they said they would. No one called so we picked it up and took it home and opened it to find it cold. We emailed them to let them know but we have heard nothing back. We spent £33/£34 on a cold curry ! Not impressed !

I’ve been coming here for a fair amount of time now and in the way you get attached to an Indian restaurant I’ve got attached to this one.

Had a great take away last night. The food is always prepared fresh and tasted great. They are always welcoming here. Great restaurant to eat in as well. Well situated near the centre of Royston. Limited parking behind the restaurant but street parking is not a problem. They have a varied menu with plenty of options.

Had a take away form here last night, as usual the standard of food was excellent, what you order is what you get. It is all prepared fresh and ours tasted delicious. You are always served with a smile and always made to feel very welcome. This is a lovely restaurant very clean and well set out. There is some parking at the back, but plenty of street parking is available if you are eating in.

I took three friends here as was told it was good the service was poor after two hours and no food and the waiter thinking it was funny we walked out no apology no explanation and the waiter was still laughing this place it a joke NEVER GO HERE

I visited here with my friend we were just checking out what the curry houses in Royston. Unfortunately didn't check trip advisor. It was heaving Saturday night and they were happy to accommodate us in hour so we left and returned. The manager is helpful and did explain the restaurant caters more for the western palate. I did ask for some slight preference I was hoping the chef could cope. The food was too bland for me and everything tasted the same. In fact the curry was very sweet although it was suppose to be a jalfreizi normal quite fiery. Very disappointing for us.

Friends of ours suggested this restaurant to meet up. On arrival it was packed, they took us upstairs showed us to our table and tooj care of everything. Great food and service. Pleasant surroundings. Although it was a little pricy would definitely recommend and will be returning. Thank you

I come here once in a while when I feel like having a civilised meal out instead of takeaway, and I am never disappointed. There service is alway great and there are many dishes to choose from. I really like the tandoori and the brinjal aubergine curry.

We have eaten in the restaurant a couple of times but feel it lacks ambiance and has no real character or warmth to it. Having the constant parade of take away customers coming through the door is off putting.

Sad to say Ashiana has gone downhill. Food is always nice and previously service has always been great, but on my last visit having arrived at 6:20pm on a Monday (empty restaurant) with a party of 8, having asked a couple of times we finally ordered around 6:50pm. At 7pm we were asked "if we minded" if the food would take "30 minutes instead of the usual 20" as they had taken two large takeaway orders and apparently hadn't bothered to tell them food would take a while, therefore we were selected to suffer. As it happened, the food took a further 45 minutes, not 30. At one point we did ask, and were told "3 minutes" and food still took a further 25 minutes! They did deduct the cost of the poppadoms on asking, although this didn't even compensate the additional drinks we'd purchased due to being there for 1 hour and 25 minutes before receiving our meal (probably the reason why we were the ones who had to wait, not the takeaway orders that came in after we arrived). They were pleased enough with the quality of their service and chose to add the service charge already onto the bill for us (and didn't actually state the cost of our meal prior to the service charge so we knew how much we actually owed). We didn't pay all of the service charge clearly, given the service was appalling (but not necessarily the waiters fault who was very friendly!) But seems Ashiana has gone more towards ££ than service which is sad. As they still added a service charge, and it wasn't even very clear that they had done this, but I was pretty grumpy by this time so was looking for it, I won't be going back again.

Very friendly and welcoming service but no matter what is ordered, always deem to be served in the same, curried tomato sauce. Happy to go back and eat there again.

Another fine meal last week. I had tandoori chicken and chicken Sag, with rotis and lemon rice. All excellent. Great service as usual.

Went here for my birthday dinner. The service was amazing and the food couldn't be any better. Everything was so tasty and fresh. I had the chicken Korma and I can't wait to go back again and try other dishes. Fabulous!!!

Our third trip here and as delicious as the previous ones. We hadn’t booked but were welcomed warmly. We live 15 miles away but it is so worth the journey. The food here is the best we’ve had and the service is excellent.. friendly, efficient, smart. Highly recommend. Look forward to our next visit.
