Very disappointed with our visit today, waited a considerable amount of time to be acknowledged before being seated. There was a table at the front of the shop but it had dirty plates on but we were shown to a table in the very back corner, where we sat for well over 30 minutes. The waitress who showed us our table looked down at us a couple of times but never came over to take our order. So we decided to leave, we were not approached as we walked through the shop and as we left the table with the dirty plates on when we came in had a couple sitting at it. Not only had they obviously they came in after us they had had their order taken and had been served as they were eating their lunch. Absolutely diabolical service!

Stopped in here for a breakfast before work . Ordered a small breakfast , swapped an item on the breakfast , no issue. Service was swift and friendly, both staff very nice and polite but not intrusive. Breakfast was delicious, hot and tasty with lovely ingredients. Very good all round

my sister and i visited this cafe for lunch on 22nd August. we ordered the quiche from the specials board, I had chips with mine my sister had salad and garlic bread. it was awful....inedible, the pastry was not cooked neither were the chips, my sisters salad consisted of a few green leaves, the garlic bread was doughy and undercooked. we had 2 coffees which were luke warm. the total cost came to over £30. very disapointing very poor quality. needless to say we will not be visiting this cafe again. Avoid.

We ordered two sandwiches for takeaway. The ham and salad on white bread - consisted of ham and a small amount of wilted lettuce…nothing else. We could have ordered a plain ham Sanger for less money. Unfortunately we are travelling and had taken it back to our hotel room, otherwise we would have returned it. My wife found it inedible and through it in the bin.

A great cafe, and also a fab cycle stop. You can sit outside with bike securely chained to the adjacent railings. Cales are lovely, and stupidly good value. After going last week for a flapjack which would have filled a small family, I stopped off on the bike for lunch today. Ham egg and chips were lovely, staff are really friendly, and they even offered to put oce and a slice into my water bottles for the onward trip (!). Definitely recommended.

Café hidden on a backstreet just away from the centre. Not sure if dogs were welcome so we sat outside and spread over two tables with a group of 7. Visited while on a week away in devon and throughly impressed. Accommodated for our under 2 year old with colouring crayons and sheets. Wonderful food, very fresh, for reasonable prices. Had the chicken bacon and avocado salad and it was lovely. Everyone enjoyed their meals as a family of seven and had no complaints. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a little pit stop, not too fancy but definitely up to standards.

We visited the town and decided on Mrs Gills for a breakfast based on others reviews. On arrival the place was clean and tidy. We ordered two breakfast one large and one regular, one tea, one coffee and juice, When the drinks arrived the crockery was disgusting, this should have been a red flag. We did not use the glass and polished our own cutlery. Food arrived as two small breakfast, when we questioned this a member of staff who hadn’t delivered the food declared they were one small one regular without even looking or approaching the table and then exclaimed we had only ordered small. When we asked for this to be rectified the food was grumpily returned to the kitchen, upon its return it was obvious that it had been sat whilst the rest was cooked. We did not receive a table check, when the plates were removed only half touched and we said honestly how unpleasent it had been we recieved a shrug and the bill. Far from a good first experience - avoid.

This is a real gem in Dorchester. We love the coffee best in the area. The food is always excellent. The staff are very good always very helpful and service with a smile. Lovely place to meet up with friends and enjoy the lovely open space. Not sure why they were closed today Friday 5th August, but did hear that it might be closed for a while due to on going dispute. Be a real shame if it does close as it was a good find with excellent coffee.

Sunday roast wasn't great unfortunately. The beef was exceptionally chewy and when mentioned to the waiter the reply was something along the lines of "yes we know". Also the veg consisted of swede, carrot and cabbage which was quite uninspiring. Would expect more for £18.

Good pub with very cozy interior, especially with the blazing woodburner. Staff were great at hosting and very attentive. Dog friendly. Nice beers and great food. The landlord, Richard, even gave us a jump-start after we got stuck in a blizzard. Legend.
