Not had from here for a while used to be a favourite. As a rare treat ordered and so disappointing duck very small portion cucumber hot n soggy floating in a warm liquid. satay sauce to sweet n no nuts in kung po chicken not much chicken just veg. Used to be top notch but won’t be ordering again sadly

Have used mr woon for a long time but sadly the food and service has gone down hill Ordered food with a soup and it tastes like coffee when I made a complaint was told to just eat it Will never use them again

We braved the risk of trying a new Chinese... and what a treat it was. The chow mien was full of flavour, the starters ALL very tasty! The satay had a strange (non-peanut) sweetness to it but it was still very pleasant. I'll be returning soon :)

First and last time used this Chinese! Ordered a chicken and prawn curry. It was all thick curry sauce and onion ! About 4 small soft pieces of chicken and 6 prawns !Also ordered curry samosas, which had hardly any filling in.Dissappionting.

We have recently purchased an apartment in Gosport and used Mr Woon shortly after we moved in. All we can say is WOW, WOW, WOW! Not all dishes taste the same, as with many other Chinese restaurants/takeways. The food is consistently top class and we would highly recommend them. A friend recently stayed with us and said it is the best Chinese food she has ever eaten. Thank you Mr Woon, keep up the good standard and portion sizes.

Waste of money first time getting it from here never again

Chips were very obviously refried from yesterday and the crispy shredded beef was was white and so dry, no flavour at all. Seeing as we were new customers you would have thought they would have made an effort to impress! Def won't be using again!

Order was salt and pepper squid,chicken curry and Singapore rice noddles ,chicken overcooked rubbery,squid flavour was ok but again overcooked rubbery unable to eat and Noddles not much in them but Noddles.The bin eat better tonite then we did .

Ordered takeaway delivery, food delivered 30 minutes early which was ok. Opened bag containing spring rolls and covered the worktop with cooking oil which put me off eating the food instantly. The rest of the food was very disappointing, tried this takeaway for a change...big mistake, the majority of the food went in the bin.

By far the worst Chinese I have ever eaten. Bbq sauce was flavourless and like water. Duck was fatty. Smoked chicken was soggy. Chicken balls were over cooked. Weve spent £60 and I feel like I have wasted my hard earned money. Salt and pepper chicken was the only thing that was enjoyed.

Order placed at 2200hrs , they cancelled it at 2300hrs and I didn't find this out till midnightand by then they were closed. Never again

Bland food, pancake roll very oily. Would not recommend.

Order BBQ spare ribs and they were a watery mess which tastes nothing like BBQ...The Chowmain was well below average in taste...The curry source and prwam cracker's were ok but still well under par...All in all a very disappointing meal.

Excellent food, each dish consistently tasty after four separate deliveries, this is our go to take away, from now on...since our favourite left the scene(Tim).

No chips with an omelette!!!!! Never ordered an omelette from a Chinese that doesn't either come with rice or chips. Feel bloody robbed and am going back to maggies

I use Mr Woon at least twice a month. The service is always good and the food is alway nice and hot when it is delivered.

Be careful what time/day you order most time great food other times not cooked properly

Shocking quality of food! We spent £60 for a family get together and we received hardly anything! We complained and was denied a refund! Had to go into shop to complain and was still stood there for 30 minutes! Quality of food, was poor at best, bland and either under cooked or over cooked! First and last time we try MR WOON! Stay away!

Ordered crispy aromatic duck. 6 pancakes, more fat than duck, what little there was of it and barely any spring onion and cucumber!! Absolutely awful

Food was nice, when it finally arrived!

Having heard such good things about the food. My husband and I tried a takeaway. Unfortunately it was totally inedible. Food arrived over cooked, in sloppy grey sauce and tepid! On relaying this back to our neighbors who had recommended it, they assured us we must have just hit a bad one as it’s ‘the best around’... round two, three months later and we gave it another go. Big regret, total waste of money. Same tepid, sloppy, lazy cooking. We gave up after half a dozen mouthfuls. Waste of time and money. Food definitely not worth getting fat for!!

Are you kidding me the chicken balls weren't cooked properly 😠 Chips tasted stail Chow mein didn't even taste like chow mein And way to much tomato sauce in sweet and sour sauce What a waste of money very disappointed will never be returning for more Guess we got prawn crackers for tea tonight boys😑

Great takeaway meals been ordering takeaways for years , always good service and food , once forgot prawn crackers , drove straight back and got them ( did not expect that, they go that little extra) best chinese in Gosport , tried most of others always had some problems over the years , Well done all staff at MR woods , you deserve to be busy !!

I thought reading the reviews this place would be good, it's really not. They got an order wrong, we asked for Chicken Curry with ONLY Peas. It came with Onions and Mushrooms (Which my partner is allergic to) and no peas. I called back up and they said the order was written down correctly so the cooks must not have read it. Also, I ordered a Chow Mein for myself and I can't even eat it. It tastes like someones poured a whole salt shaker and pepper shaker on the meal. Only good thing was it arrived fast.

I've been using this take away for many years but tonight we had a really bad meal. I phoned to let them know and to ask for a refund for the dishes that were cold/soggy/too salty to eat. After protracted relaying of messages to the boss (who wouldn't even speak to me) I was refused a refund but offered 10% off my next order. Sorry, but that's not good enough. I will not return. Such a shame - they need to learn some customer service.

First delivery from mr wokn. Food arrived hot and as ordered Pancake roll external crust was a bit overcooked but ok. Soups were great. Garlic chips to die for just a bit overcooked Chop suey fresh with amazing flavour Chicken balls stunning Highly recommended

The food we received tonight was not to a good standard at all. It was very very greasy, stodgy, cold and bland. Unfortunately would not recommend (to anyone or anything).

Loving there Salt & Pepper chips, with wee slices of peppers, onions & chilli. I fish out all the peppers & onions then eat the chips.

wow , what can i say , thought we try this one for a change , big mistake , worse we ever had , defo will not return .

I am a regular contributor customer. So last night I ordered Singapore chow main with rice noddles and mixed sweet & sour balls. However they got the order wrong and sent plain rice noddles, when I wanted the chow main vercemilly (don't know how to spell those noddles) so i called up re their mistakes and they sent me a another chow main free. Now I'm left with 2chow mains and extra balls. I will never go anywhere else. Even if I move I will still use this place

First visit to Mr Woon. I chose a quarter of crispy duck with pancakes, shredded spring onion, julienne of cucumber and hoisin sauce. What I liked: 1 Order was ready to collect when they said it would be. 2 Hoisin sauce was very flavoursome, I thought it was prepared in-house. 3 Strips of cucumber were fresh and a nice, even size. 4 Pancakes were hot and had that lovely flexible texture, ready to load with the other ingredients. 5 Complimentary prawn crackers were crisp and plentiful. What I disliked: 1 The duck leg meat, whilst well shredded, crispy and hot, had been kept too long in that condition and had dried out, losing, in the process, flavour and succulence. It could have been any dark, cooked, crispy meat. 2 The spring onions were shredded leek - I grow both and know the difference. These were very mild, so lacked the tang that provides a counterbalance to the sweet hoisin sauce. Thoughts: I would try Mr Woon again, but not this particular dish. The duck is meant to be star of the show and it was a poor extra, instead.

Moved back to Gosport 3 years ago and Finally found a Chinese that serves fresh Food.. (Hang your head in shame ORIENTAL EXPRESS/LAMS)This Place is by far the best in Gosport Second time I've been here.. I ordered a Yeung Choi Fried Rice this Visit OMG-the Fried rice had some many different Ingrediants that you could tell this was freshly Prepared by a chef who knows what they are doing.. CANT STRESS HOW GOOD THIS PLACE IS..Well Done Mr Woon in Filling me with Confidents back in Chinese Takeaway that I thought had Vacated when Mr Kam Too Retired.

What a great takeaway, we had set meal 3 for £28 with duck, prawns beef plenty to choose from and plenty of it, certainly a takeaway we will be using again, very good food

This is my go to for my weekly take away. If they are away I don't have Chinese. Good value for money and quick and efficient delivery. Well worth a try.. Young chow chow mien and battered chicken in garlic sauce is a favourite.

I know not commented on Mr Woon for a whied, but last nite Malaysian Chow Mein was Yum! Will definitely be having in the future. For those that are not into to much hotness, it was not

Ordered from Mr Woon for years but they have gone downhill over last year and the food we have just eaten was horrible and like past its sell by. Not using them again

Mr woons is a lovley chinese take out we descoverd it when we loved local and fell head over heals for there chips curry sause chowmaine rices and many other items of the menu we now live further away and they still deliver to us we do pay a bit extra but for the quality of food you get its worth it we have tryed diffrent chinease take outs closer to wear we live and we can honistly say it dosent come closs if there is any mess ups there quickly sorted the staff are friendly and the food is amazing

Love the Salt n Pepper Chicken and the Honey Ribs. We use Mr Woon all the time, lovely food, quick service... No other Chinese Take away will do for us!!

Mr Woons provides good service from taking the order over the phone through to a reasonably timed delivery. We have to order with Less salt and so far they have never let us down. The portions are realistic in size which means there is less wastage. Nice flavours nothing overpowering but if you request extra garlic for eg then they will oblige. Dissapointed of late when ordering the bbq ribs as the sauce used to have onions in which were lovely but they are now omitted. : (

Best salt and pepper chips in town

I have used his takeaway a few times and the food is good and very good value compared to other takeaway's in the area .

Do use on & off, dishes are never quite the same, vary in heat also. My favourite is the Salt & Pepper chips they do, which have a heat bite.

We tried a variety of dishes,all were very good and well spicy which is unusual for chinese food, my only gripe is that the special noodles had very little meat in it, it was mostly just noodles, I will give that dish a miss next time

i always use this takeaway when i fancy a safe takeaway. the food is consitently good and i would reccomend their malaysian options and chefs specials.

We have used this place for take-always on many occasions and find them to be the best among the various local ones we have tried. The food is tasty, service is prompt and it gets delivered on time as promised and arrives hot. What more can one ask! Makes for a welcome change on the day one is not inclined to cook.
