Mr Lee in Camden

Tried for first time on 27/10/24 and loved it! Proper old school Chinese takeaway - had a spring roll, sweet and sour pork and a house special chop suey. Very generous portions, competitive prices and friendly service. It is cash only but that is no problem to me. I'll be back!

I have been using Mr Lees Chinese take away for 30 years. As far as I'm concerned, its the best Chinese in London. A family run establishment. The food is so fresh and delicious, I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend eating here.

I was going to order food at Mr Lee's and noticed that their food standards rating is 0 star only (11 Jan 24). I cannot risk eating at this establishment and that's a shame as I used to enjoy their food. (not been there since before lockdown).

I ordered from Mr. Lee a few days ago, the Cantonese Duck. About 8 hours later I had the worst food poisoning (all the symptoms of salmonella). It was horrendous. I am still recovering 4 days onward. And I am a young healthy woman. I’m sure that an elderly person or a child might have had to go to the hospital in my situation. I let them know, and there was no real concern, just a weak “sorry”. This is not good enough. I personally will never ever order at Mr Lee again, and I would advise anyone else not to, at least until their food hygiene and safety is up to the proper standards. The rating they have displayed is not accurate, as I did some research after, and they scored 0/5 on their last inspection in January.

The nicest Chinese Take Away for far and wide. Try a meal for 1 your first time maybe and then check out the rest of the menu, it's all very delicious and ready in about 15 minutes. Great Value for money.

Really good, authentic Chinese takeaway with a variety of dishes, all with wonderful flavours. I might be a bit biased as I live next door but I love the food and the service. The dumplings and prawns/chicken in chilli, salt and pepper are particularly good but anything I've tried here was amazing. (recommend chicken in black pepper sauce as well!) Can't wait for my next order!

This has defo gone downhill! Ordered chicken chow mein was horrible taste like dried noodles left over from night before, and as for the chicken 🤮 taste like rubber and stinks again taste like it was sitting there for three days! Defo won’t be back again overpriced and not does not taste fresh at all! Y decent thing was the chips and curry sauce but mains not good at all!

This used to be the best Chinese in London. Hands down. Now it’s revolting and always upsets your stomach. They’re not clean here. The old owners were so good and the food was amazing. Hope the disgusting, unhygienic new owners go soon. 🙏

Im giving this 3 stars sooooo much salt that we wike up all night to drink water. Possibly msg? ribs nice curry nice seaweed bucket sugary salt inedible crispy beef nice satay chicken good prawn toast good plain chow mein burnt tounge with salt please reduce the salt Walk to wok Willesden lane NW6 makes lovely chinese has outdoir seaing and salt is reduced made by chinese chef 30 year experience full of veg and healthy.

It's good food little pricey and I really wish they would start taking card they are the only place on the street that doesn't take card so frustrating when you want something quick and you need to always think about going to a cash point. Guys please invest in a card machine!!

I have order and eat there for many years...always delivered fresh and tasty food

Regular customers for quite some time, really disappointed to have received our regular dishes which all tasted the same....Special fried rice arrived bright yellow, exactly the same as the Singapore noodles. Ordered on uber eats.

Doesn’t have much taste . Special veggie rice is so weird the veggies taste horrible in some sauce that’s grassy, not impressed at all.

Since John and his family left some time ago it's never been the same. I dunno what they are using but I've had to stop getting food as the oil or what ever causing me to have a very upset stomach. Sorry guys!!!!

One of the best takeaways in kilburn really friendly staff decent value for money

i love this place staff are pleasant and food is good, they have never messed my order unlike many other food places within the area i would recommend the butterfly king prawn, All chowmein dishes and the sweet and sour chicken balls, i also like that they separate the peanut sauce from the satays so if the sauce isnt to your taste you can still enjoy the satay.

I used to love Mr Lee's. Great tasty food and well worth the price. Mr Lee has changed hands and the food has gone right down hill, no flavour or taste. I've thrown half of mine away.

La señora de recepción es tan grosero ser personas han tomado como el original de la gente se han jubilado.Sabía que era preciosa a todos sus clientes y hacer respetuoso.Las cosas de cocina son todavía muy cortés, pero la señora de recepción le hará perder un montón de clientes ya que la gente no puede lidiar con su actitud y mal trato bueno es muy agradable.La calidad es genial es de atención al cliente frente justlady casa pobre.

No sé por qué, pero su King Prawn Fried Rice es excepcionalmente bueno. Siempre estuve buscando arroz frito que tenía en Japón pero que no encontré en ningún otro lugar del Reino Unido. . . . Sé que es un poco diferente del estilo japonés, pero el arroz frito con gambas rey de Lee es muy recomendable para aquellos a los que les falta arroz frito decente en Londres. I Love this food, have been coming here since I was around 8years old (late 30's now) so have seen mum and dad run it and now the grown up children. Value and quality for money, never had a complaint! Food containers always packed to the rim.

I come here quite regularly, as it is just up the road from my local. The food is of decent and is normally ready within 10 minutes of ordering. Its not the best Chinese in the world but it will get the job done.

Service was great very polite even gave us free spring rolls !!. Food wasn't salty or greasy and definitely will make another visit.

I agree with Monica A that the staff were very rude and my experience of the food was not anything like what the other reviewers had experienced. Perhaps, things have changed since the change of ownership.

Siempre está lleno, no valen, pero obviamente no es necesario cuando el lugar siempre está lleno de gente esperando por la comida. Comida preparada en una cocina abierta, así que se puede ver desde el mostrador. Lugar muy limpio y la comida es abundante y muy sabrosa, y el personal es encantador. Buena comida pero los precios parecen elevar en cada visita. La última visita de pasar 13 libras y cuando pedí pan de gambas me dijeron que no pasamos suficiente. En una nota positiva si el teléfono antes de ir, la comida estará listo para recoger. No parece que haya muchos ya comprada en China, lo cual limita el Kilburn donde vayas.

Ordered from this place based on reviews. The staff was rude and food did not live up to the reviews. Dish was masked with lot of soy and one note.

Last Sunday on the drive home decided to stop at MR LEE. Order over the phone, On arrival proceed to pay the lady in the shop held up my money to the light in the most indiscreet way, analysed the money took over to other lady in the shop and they both had a look at the note, they checked the note with a pen. After this ordeal they just laughed, no sorry or nothing. I will not return service has drop since original over left.

Have been going here almost 10 years, food is absolutely amazing some of the best Chinese in London and the lee family incredibly friendly. Has since been taken over by another family but there kept the same recipes and it has really worked out well. The only bugbear is they don't do delivery so I now make the 40 min round trip to collect since we moved from Kilburn.

Actually one of the best Chinese restaurants I have tried. I am not one for wrting reviews, but this little takeaway is always fresh, tasty and uses vegetables and proper meats. The staff are freindly, welcoming and polite, the kitchen you can see is clean and everything gets cooked in front of you. I live locally and use it regularly! Personal recomnedation is Chili Chicken with Salt and Peppers.

Era la noche del domingo por la noche y tomar un paseo con un amigo, cuando me di cuenta, casi todas las tiendas de comida en Belsize carretera estaban cerrando o ya cerrados. Bien, el domingo por la noche no es la mejor época para correr tarde en busca de comida. Por suerte, nos dimos cuenta que "Sr. Lee" estaba abierto. Se trata de un "llevar" mixto y recogimos nuestros platos lo suficientemente rápido. Nos dieron un tiempo de espera de 10 minutos, y casi a la vez, nos dieron una comida llena. No aceptan tarjetas - así que pagar en efectivo y nos volvimos.La comida que nos dieron - era cálido, deliciosa y simplemente me encantó las gambas. Si estás buscando comida china - con variedades, sin duda debe probar el Sr. Lee.

We've been using Mr Lee regularly for the last year and I would have given it 10/10 before the last two orders. It tastes like they've changed chef, we ordered the same dishes but they were very different. Everything tasted like oyster sauce which I can't stand and we threw it away. Perhaps this is no bad thing for our waistlines but a shame a good takeaway has gone downhill in my opinion!

Myself and my family have been using Mr lee for the last 20 or so years, even tho they don't deliver its still worth a visit..... We have recently heard that Mr lee is under new managment but I still think the food is as good.........

My favourite Chinese take away! I always order King Prawn fried rice, it is amazing! Also, it is very fast service, when you pop in, you will just wait few minutes in nice atmosphere.

Mr Lee is my favourite Chinese take away restaurant. The food is great and they do not skimp on ingredients, so your chicken curry will be filled with more chicken than veg, unlike some of the other restaurants in the local area. Great service, nice family and good value for money. You have to try Mr Lee's at least once, you will not be disappointed!

mr lee is a big family favourite ..the food is tasty and good quality and few doors down from my fave little bay.the value is great and theres nothing better than i nght in with a mr lees ...salt and pepper chicken is the bees knees
