I've made five different deliveroo orders so far from this place with different menus each time, and am every time impressed by the quality of the food. It's much less oilier than your standard chinese takeout and more flavourful than any other Asian food I have had on a delivery order. Love it! Looking forward to dining in some time soon.

As usual, the food was up to the high standard we expect in this famous establishment. The butterfly prawns were excellent as was the soft shell crab. The service was quick and efficient. The only thing that upset our dining experience was the unruly behaviour of people sitting on other tables who were loud and obnoxious. I suppose the staff could have asked them to 'calm down' but they don't want to upset anyone.

Been a customer for many years. The food is always delicious but the service has never been the best or friendliest. I do have to say it seems things have gotten even worse, service-wise. Waiting staff that seems angry to the point of an outburst, ignoring customers blatantly and you also get the occasional inappropriate response. Bare this in mind when you go there

Very disappointed with overall customer service. We had booked a table for 4 at 7pm … reached there at 6.50 and the excuses started … from that I had booked for 6pm & now would be able to have a table for only an hour… then the story changed to that they had called me and I changed the time from 7pm to 6pm…. Well I had had no call all day or had been sent a text as was promised 2 days prior when I had requested an email… personally , they have lost a loyal customer… just because of the lies !!!

We recently dined at Singapore Garden and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered the Beef in Black Bean Sauce, Sweet and Sour Chicken with Vegetables and Pineapple, and Egg Noodles with Beansprouts and Spring Onions and steamed rice. The portions were generous, and each dish was incredibly tasty, showcasing authentic Singaporean flavors. The only reason for not giving a full 5 stars is that the staff could be a bit more attentive with tasks like topping up our pot of tea and clearing the table. Other than that, we highly recommend Singapore Garden for its delicious dishes and satisfying portions.

We have always been used to a very high standard of both service and food at this very popular restaurant. However, on Saturday night when we went with friends who hadn’t been for a very long time, we were very disappointed, firstly because the hors d’oeuvres were served lukewarm we ordered a Hianese chicken/rice dish which was in edible.. The chicken looked like it had been boiled and it was very unappetising. When we told them we didn’t like it, we then order chicken with cashew nuts which was also very average, and frankly sport the overall experience. Given the price of £50 per head we expected much better quality food and I do hope this is not a sign of things to come.

An early dinner is best as the restaurant was rapidly filling at 7pm. Comfortable seating well spaced. A long list of cocktails from which the traditional Singapore Gin Sling was almost as good as the one enjoyed at Raffles. Prompt attention to order and delivery of our first course of prawns, garlic and green beans. Their version of chilli crab was large, tasty and great value. Plastic gloves helped keep us tidy. The aubergine in yellow bean sauce was heavenly. Singah beer was the perfect beverage. We had just enough room to share banana fritters and vanilla ice cream.

I had not been here for 15 years. it has not improved. We arrived at 9pm to be greeted by 'the kitchen closes in 30 minutes' followed five minutes later by 'the kitchen closes in 20 minutes'. We had not had time to place an order. I ordered Tom Yum soup which is a Thai dish. It should be clear with different fish, small shrimp and spices an vegetables instead it was a tomato based soup bearing little resemblance with 3 large frozen shrimp. We ordered sizzling lamb in Peking sauce. the sauce was largely tomato ketchup and very disagreeable. We left half. The egg fried rice was barely fried and grossly over cooked. The Singapore noodles bore no relationship to the real dish. the noodles were bland, unspiced no flavour at all, no mini shrimp, chicken, vegetables, curry or anything - totally bland. The only edible dish was steamed bean sprouts and onion which were hard to ruin. in all a thoroughly sub standard meal and neither of us will be back. The restaurant is modern, spacious and comfortable. It is pricey for what it offers.

Date Visited 10/2023: I walked to a Singaporean restaurant near my accommodation, motivated by positive reviews. In my London dining experiences, I usually find myself among the first or third customers, witnessing the place fill up after a few hours. No reservation was needed, and I was seated across the bar. Despite the formal ambiance and the waitstaff’s appearance, they were notably professional and friendly. I was staying overnight in London for work. I travelled to Swiss Cottage specifically to try this restaurant. They do not take on line bookings and having not phoned ahead I was concerned to arrive at the restaurant and find it looking very busy on a cold Thursday evening. I asked for a table for one and a table was found - phew! The food was great. Quite expensive, but this is London. Basically a Chinese menu with some Malaysian dishes. So I had a quarter of crispy duck which was cooked really well and came with a generous supply of pancakes. I followed this with delicious beef rending and rice. Sometimes this sort of food can swim in MSG, but not here. Service was efficient, friendly and helpful (I liked the fact that nearly all staff wore masks). I really enjoyed this meal, although it was far from cheap.

I was recommended to this restaurant by a client, although she did mention that it was overpriced. We arrived earlier than anticipated with my son it was part of our post Christmas get together dinner! We entered the restaurant 5 minutes before they were open. My son asked if they were open, we were greeted with just about! Very unwelcoming and unpolite. The whole experience here was unpolite. After being seated I asked the waiter if they have any vegan options and he very confusingly said don’t know what you normally eat at Chinese restaurants as very difficult! He suggested mixed vegetables which I ordered. For starters we had spring rolls. TO MY HORROR WHILST EATING I FELT SOMETHING IN MY MOUTH LIKE PAPER. Which I took out, it was not paper it was a long piece of STRING!! There were many people with children eating if a child ate that they could have choked! I showed the waiter who very quickly took away the spring rolls and bought us another portion. They did apologise but didn’t offer anything in return or reduce the bill. At this point I was very put off by anything prepared in this restaurant’s kitchen. I was so hungry and was looking forward to my main food otherwise I would have walked out at this point. The whole experience here was very weird everyone had masks on like we had just come out of a pandemic! I will not be returning!! Ohhhh and lastly I couldn’t eat all the tofu I ordered so asked to have this packaged for takeaway in a separate takeaway dish to my sons chicken, which he didn’t finish. Guess what they did?? They put it into the same container. The same waiter who knew I am vegan and who specifically said 2 separate containers in same bag!

Overrated is my assessment of this restaurant. We had Roast Duck on a bed of vegetables, Lemon chicken, and a Malaysian tofu dish. None of which were special or could be called delicious. Of these three the lemon chicken was the most pleasant. We had desserts and these at least were nice. The service left a lot to be desired. It was not attentive and the waiter was unfriendly. We had not signalled the waiter, and until we did so, the main course dirty plates just stayed on the table, and we were not asked if we wanted dessert. I could say more. I have had many better meals and experiences at less expensive chinese restaurants.

Singapore Garden has been around for as long as I can remember and live through all the changes throughout the years. Times change and you change with it. There is a reason why it survives as one of the very few. The decor is contemporary and service is good. The food has always been on par but nothing too special about it. Well until I had the Hainanese Chicken Rice, a dish so famous in Singaporean cuisine. Honestly it is probably one of the worst Hainanese Chicken Rice I have ever had… The chicken was of poor quails and overcooked, the soup was lukewarm at best and the rice, the most important element in this dish, was not even warm but dry and lacked the chicken taste. My son and I were so disappointed. As said, service is good, good ambience and ideal place to sit with a bottle of wine in the evening. I am just utterly disappointed with the signature Singaporean dish. Admittedly it is not an easy disk to make but if you couldn’t make it right, my advice would be to take it out of your menu. Food 6.5/10, ambience 8/10, service 8/10, value for money 7/10.

My husband and I have been here for lunch and dinner. We enjoyed the food both times. The beef ho fun was delicious and had the distinctive wok hei. It was amazing as leftovers for my lunch the next day, too. The beef rendang and braised pork belly were likewise scrumptious. However, the Hainanese chicken rice was not very authentic; the chicken skin was yellow and wrinkly and the meat was rough, unlike the chicken rice I grew up eating in Singapore. As for desserts, I was really interested in trying the sago melaka. I mostly enjoyed it, though I feel like it could do with less gula melaka syrup, as it was too sweet for me. My husband got mochi, which was unremarkable. They were also out of the hazelnut and coconut, so he could only choose from chocolate and mango. Overall, though, I like the food and would come back to try out other things on the menu. Service is professional and polite. Prices are a bit high, however, so I’d personally save my visits for special occasions.

Came here to try some authentic Singaporean and Malaysian dish. The restaurant was so busy when we left on a Wednesday. Ordered some of their specials on the menu, the only one that really tasted good was the fried tofu and rojak. The hokkien noodle wasn’t really what I tasted back in Singapore. The teochew meatballs wasn’t that authentic. The chicken paper bag wasn’t really what I thought it would be in Malaysia and Singapore. Hainanese chicken rice, chicken was quite dry. Chilli was good though, that ticks the box. I think this is great place to come if you want some Asian food and good for takeaways as well.

I simply do not understand the poor reviews from people who have eaten in the restaurant. OK, with take-away, it never tastes the same as actually dining in a restaurant, but some of these reviews are frankly incomprehensible. There are very few really good Oriental restaurants in NW London and the wife and I had despaired of finding one that was reasonably priced. We are both very familiar with the various Oriental cuisines having travelled for more than 40 years in the area and we can honestly say this is as good as you're going to get. The service is a bit abrupt, but a smile on your face gets over that - and if the waiter is pushy to get your order, just say you need more time. No big deal. We engaged with them and they were very friendly. Most important, the food is terrific; so much so we made the journey from Mill Hill twice in a week to eat there. If you want vegetarian options, they are only too pleased to oblige. Although it's a 30 minute journey each way, this has now belome our 'local'.

En route home through my old childhood area, opted to get a takeaway to take home. The restaurant was busy. There is a window where takeaway orders are taken and delivered. I found the elderly male on the till obnoxious. 'Do you know what you...

Always delicious food & this time was no exception. We've been coming here for years & will continue. Tables spaced for covid.

This was a very very disappointing visit to this recommended restaurant. The food was served cold and had to be returned. The service was slow and poor. Requested to leave our table before we had finished due to having to return the cold food.

I live next door and went there for the first time. Terrible. I’ve ordered the number 2 (kuay pie tee top hats) as starter. It came 1 minute after waiter left the table. It was dripping in oil at the bottom. As main I ordered...

Ordered a delivery via their website. After 2 hours and 2 telephone calls (the second of which they left me on hold for 10 minutes), my husband had to go to the restaurant and forcefully demand the food before it was given to us! Absolutely...

I used to regularly go to Goldfish in Hampstead before it moved to Chalk Farm. Before moving it was run down space but good quality tasty food and decent service. Today we tried the new Goldfish now in Chalk Farm and the food and service was awful. Firstly, the place was freezing and we including others were sitting inside with our puffer jackets which the staff did not seem to care about. our food was brought luke-warm, not at all to its usual standard and at completely different awkward times. We had to ask for tap water many times and the servers were completely un-attentive even though there were about 8 of us total in the whole restaurant. I don't often take time to leave negative reviews but I don't recommend visiting Goldfish if this is their new standard.

Super wide variety Chinese/Asian menu, friendly efficient fast service, excellent food. The staff constantly walked the restaurant floor to ensure responsive service. Right opposite King's Cross station.
