This restaurant needs to be closed down immediately! I ordered my food which came quite fast. I was just about to take a bite and decided to look a lil closer.. the first thing I found was an extremely long hair inside a prawn ball, highlighting the lack of hygiene.

We had been recommended this restaurant. Sadly it failed to live up to any recommendation. Food arrived very quickly after ordering which raised a slight concern. I guess it had been reheated in a microwave. However our plates were cold and therefore the food got cold quickly. Whilst the brisket was very tender our other dishes were less than average. My colleagues and I all agreed we have had better food from our local take away! Restaurant was rather tatty looking here and there. Seats need replacing and renewing. Tablecloths would be nice rather than just paper ones. Paper is fine if put over a cotton one Cheap....yes....you pay for what you get I guess!

We found this place near Generator Hostel and had dinner there twice. The food is cheap, fresh, the vegetables still crunchy after cooking, the meat is juicy and delicious, and everything tastes homemade. The service is fast and efficient. It looks like local Chinese eat there, which I consider proof of quality. Highly recommended.

I was attracted by the good price for a main dish and soup. The soup was a tiny portion and tasteless. The duck was slimy and the rice was lumpy and hardly warm. I asked for soy sauce after I had paid and that would have been another 50p if I had cash, but I had to go without. Shame really as it might have added a touch of flavour. Despite the lunch offer being GBP6.90 minimum card payment is GDP10.

Quaint, cozy Cantonese Restaurant normally full as they have limited tables. We did takeaway twice ordering the wonton/hofun/noodle soup and beef brisket on both. Food is simply authentic Cantonese cuisine - the wonton soup presents a proper balance of flavors and generous wonton pieces, noodle is perfect. The beef brisket is cooked to tender perfection and the sauce is sublime. They have an extensive menu and based on the dishes we had (twice), good good food and consistently so.

Met up with someone staying in a nearby hotel so fancying chinese food tried this place. It is quite small, nothing special but perfectly OK. One girl did everything... Took orders, drinks, served food but its so small that's not a problem. 4 other tables being used, all Chinese which I take as a good sign. She tried to hurry us along a bit, asking us to order straight away and not wanting us to sit and enjoy a drink first but we shooed her away and made it plain we were not rushing after which she left us alone. £40 for 2 mains, rice, chow mein crackers and a couple of drinks... About right.

If your restaurant has no customers on a Saturday night you must be doing something wrong. And this is what it is. When people with money to spend come in through the door with its Open sign and the four staff can't be bothered to get up, fire up and serve you then you deserve to be out of business. I know what Sir Alan Sugar would say. Your competitors made money that night.

Waiter mixed up our order somehow. We ordered for starters: Rolls Chicken Soup. (Could use Seasoning) Main Courses: Stir fried Noodles with Chicken (this was over done and didn't taste good) Chicken with Oyster Sauce + Cashew nuts (Flavourlees And not with Nuts as we ordered) Stirfried Chicken w/ Cashew Nuts (Flavourless, and the chicken did not look like it has been near a frying Pan, looked like coocked chicken thrown in their at the last minute) Rice (good but one portion is enough for 2) Roasted Duck ( We did not order this, but actually this was best part of the meal) Overall Experience: 56 £ for a tasteless meal is to expensive, and also the waiter got in to an argument with other customers, and telling them they could choose to go away for her sake, this is not generating a good atmosphere for other guests. Would not recommend🙁

We went to eat at The China House because B is delighted to have a local Chinese restaurant. There were a number of Chinese diners when we arrived, which seemed encouraging. The menu is extensive: rice dishes, soup noodle, noodle dishes, stir fries and all your standard starters. I saw nothing unusual on it; and I found it somewhat unconvincing in that it suggested that e.g. beef dishes varied only in the sauce into which the beef was dropped.I decided to order the crispy shredded beef. It was OK, though I found it too sweet and otherwise under-seasoned. The beef "shreds" were a good size in relation to the batter and the texture was very good. I think this was the first time I have ever used salt in a Chinese restaurant, but the rice lacked flavour.Service was courteous and prompt.

China |House is the only Chinese restaurant in this area, which has a high profile for sushi, including a bar in the Waitrose store. A modern interior not far from the Brunswick Centre. Each table space had a printed lunch menu for £6.60, the soup of the day (chicken and sweetcorn) being "free". In our case we were happy with the soup and the sweet and sour chicken, and so were the majority of oriental diners - probably students .They were being served Chinese tea, but unusually, we not upsold any drinks and had these in the Curzon cinema. A somewhat up and down passage to the toilets but everything clean and one waitress was handling the food taken from a hoist, some being takeaways. The menu is described as classic but that was all I was looking for in this gastronomic United Nations of a district.

I know that i have reviewed this restaurant before, but I had such a wonderful meal, I just had to come back.On arriving the restaurant was quite busy and although small, a table for one was located at the back of the restaurant. After a short time to review the menu, I placed my order: Hot & Sour Soup, Sweet & Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and Egg Fried Rice. After the waitress had brought my bottle of Tsing Tao, she dropped the little capsule with my order in down the little tube which was poking out of the wall opposite where I was sitting. The soup arrived after a very short time and was accompanied by a healthy (in size anyway) portion of Prawn Crackers. After finishing my soup, I was asked if I wanted my main course immediately or after a short delay. I opted for a short break to allow my soup to go down, which also gave the opportunity to do a little people watching. As well as being popular with Western looking clientele, there was also quite a few Oriental clients in as well, which in my opinion is always a good sign.My main course arrived and like the soup was piping hot. The food was really fresh and very well cooked and presented, needless to say, I just could not leave anything except for some of the rice.Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Arrived in London, staying just around he corner from here and in dire need of hot food.Walked by to check it out and it was really busy. Went in and asked for a table for one. There just happened to be one adjacent to the service/reception area. Now, some would say that this was not good as it was always a busy area since the restaurant does take aways as, but it was clutter free and good for people watching.Ordered The Hot & Sour Soup to start and it was delicious and all fresh, even though it only took about 4 minutes to come to the table.Next came Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and a Special Fried Rice.Table & Presentation was basic which is not a bad thing and the food looked beautiful!!The taste was very fresh like the soup but very light? It was beautiful!Whilst eating, a flurry of Oriental Nationals came and went as well as folk from all over after ordering their take away and some stayed in to eat. Always a good sign. The service was basic, but good. No pomp, no pfaf , just great fresh food served well and tasting wonderful!Wish I was staying for another night. I shall be back!Sincerely recommend, especially if staying in the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury.

Local frecuentado por población londinense y sobretodo asiática. La comida estaba de 10, las raciones correctas (sin saturar en cantidades), servicio muy amable. Pedimos lo siguiente: hot and sour vegetable soup, gyozas de cerdo, ginger and onion beef, lemon chicken y singapur rice. Precio razonable. Altamente recomendado!!!

I often pop in for the exceptionally good value lunch menu. It's varied, tasty and fast. The food quality is good rather than outstanding, but I enjoy going as the waitress who runs the show is a delight.

my tofu, aubergine and mushroom hot pot was absolutely utterly delicious...my advice is to avoid the big cheap so called Chinese near KX and come here instead to have a great meal either by choosing typical takeway style stuff or the more chinese stuff.

Para alguien que está acostumbrado a los chinos españoles, este lugar nos ha sorprendido gratamente. El local no es muy grande pero la comida está deliciosa. Almenos la que probamos. Y a un precio bastante ajustado.

China House is a small restaurant near the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury. Family run, it serves excellent Cantonese food with good ingredients cooked simply. The staff, most of them family, are friendly and helpful. A good place for an evening meal for the tired souls in the numerous nearby hotels.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo per gli standard di Londra, menù interessante sia con i classici della cucina cantonese che mix di sapori più innovativi. Pochi coperti e servizio rapidissimo. Personale non troppo cordiale ma siamo stati comunque bene

Popped in here again to see if my last poor experience was a one-off. Sadly not. Maybe it's me. Maybe I expect too much. Maybe I expect that if I'm paying for food I shouldn't feel like I'm trespassing or simply a bit of a nuisance. Food here is good. Service, at best, surly. That might just be my experience. But twice?

Four guests who tried different meals and shared. All the meals were tasty and very enjoyable. The service was great and the cost reasonable. It was a small friendly restaurant that was busy but never crowded.

REcommended by a friend who has been to Hong Kong more than once, my husband and I went here last night with that friend. My husband has also been to Hong Kong and recognised many of the dishes. We had hot sour soup to start which was delicious, just hot enough. Then we ordered Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken, beef in oyster sauce and Ho Fun noodles with beef. The noodle dish was the real star - a very generous helping of gorgeous thick noodles, vegetables, beef and a tasty sauce. Real comfort food. The beef in oyster sauce came with lots of straw mushrooms and plenty of sauce. The sweet and sour chicken dish had a wonderful bright orange glutinous sauce. We had China tea which was constantly refilled throughout the meal and a generous dish of steamed rice. The service was good, friendly and helpful. The final bill was very reasonable. I look forward to eating here again.

I was in London on my own on business and didn't know the area so walked around and this place appeared pleasant enough.I went in and sat down and had to wait a fair while to be served.Ordered a noodle soup - very nice. Had a bottle of beer.Eventually after I'd finished the guy who was running the place managed to drag himself away from his mate and remove my, by now, congealing plate.I had to wave at him to get his attention to order a pudding (banana fritter and ice cream if you're interested). It was as if I had asked for the moon.I received my pudding and before I had finished he had suddenly found me very interesting. Well, it was my table and the floor around it he found fascinating it seemed because he spent a little to long cleaning both with an alacrity nothing short of alarming.Getting the message I asked for the bill and left leaving my half-eaten (and probably dusty) banana fritter in situ.I shall never return. Not that they'd give a tinker's cuss obviously.

Went here for an evening meal this rates highly in the worst places I have ever had the misfortune to have eaten in. The meal arrived very quickly in fact to quick we had one forkful each and called the waitress across explained that the food was awful. I said I would just have the bill (not expecting to get one) but sure enough it arrived which included a service charge £12.50 per forkful. Bargain

My family and I visited in London for a tour, and we stayed in this area for 4 days. This restaurant was very close to our apartment and the only Chinese restaurant we could find around. It was a typical Cantonese Chinese restaurant, serving different types of Cantonese foods. Don't expect too much but it won't turn you down either. However, it was not inexpensive though.
