We went for lunch here and we had a very enjoyable experience. The menu is varied, and we couldn't decide what to have as it all sounded so good. The food arrived very quickly after ordering, and the portion sizes were just about right. The sizzling beef with chilli was so tender and had an excellent kick to it. The stir-fried beef with ho fun noodles was delicious.

this review is not about the flavours at all because the food was good. however when i walked past the kitchen to head to the washroom, i saw one of the chefs directly taste food from the cooking ladle! we were the only table waiting for food so you can imagine how uncomfortable i felt. perhaps i should have spoke up in that moment but i did not want to ruin the meal for my table. i hope the restaurant can view this comment and work on the hygiene and regulations

If what we had for dinner yesterday (Christmas Day) here is the same level as any ordinary day’s, we honestly WON’T RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone. GBP 85.2 (AUD 170) was paid for below three dishes and a small bowl of steamed rice (GBP 5.8 each). The beans is way too salty, the saltiest ever I had (我是山东人). We had to keep drinking water while eating it with rice. The chilli is even more than kidney for the second dish, we already asked to have less chilli/less spicy prior to order everything. The sticky rice with ribs and steamed rice are ok. We were disappointed that on a Christmas dinner, at 5:30pm (half full only) with nearly doubled price of ordinary price paid (yes they raised price on yesterday as a tradition here, which is understandable for a public holiday), the food quality is unexpectedly low, which really ruined our Christmas (we come from Australia). Shame to call themself as “ Taste of China”, if they really believe Chinese cuisine is like this?

Taste of China (Hunan Ren) is hands down the best Hunan restaurant I’ve tried in London! The flavors are authentic, portions are generous, and the prices are super reasonable (around £15 per person). Every dish feels like a trip back home. Their spicy beef stir-fry with pickled chili is tender and packed with flavor, and the steamed sea bass with chili is perfectly cooked and so satisfying. I thought it was an authentic Hunan dish, but the taste was really average. The steamed fish with chopped peppers was not tasty, the hand-shredded cabbage was not fried, the hot and sour soup contained egg shells, and the sweet potatoes with salted egg yolk were not sweet and had no egg yolk flavor. But the hot and sour noodles are pretty good.

Ordered fried noodles £16, tastes just like the Chinese takeaway you can get from anywhere. And be prepared to pay the discretionary fee as they would want you to pay the service (bring the food to the table), which from my perspective is not even service. Avoid!

Went there last Wednesday. Customer service was great. Foods came really quick. The person serving us was friendly. I really enjoyed the rice and the dishes. Here’s what we loved: Favorite Dish: Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs 🍖 The ribs were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The balance of sweet and sour was just right. If you love sweet and sour flavors, this is a must-try! We also tried the Fish Fillet with Pickled Vegetables 🐟The fish fillets were incredibly tender, and the pickled vegetables added a perfect tangy flavor. Each bite tasted authentic Hunan cuisine, and it paired perfectly with rice.

A friend recommended this place for its authentic Hunan flavors, and after this visit, my family and I were very satisfied. The food was delicious, especially the Sweetcorn and Pork Ribs Soup 🍲. Saw this place after bowling and decided ti go with bunch of co workers afterwards for dinner. Big sized portions and well flavoured dishes all round. Not overly pricey. Decorations, seating and layout felt more of a European restaurant but serving Chinese food. Some staff were better than others, one barely spoke any english at all. When it was pay time they offered discount if you pay in cash. Most surprisingly they were willing to take HKD/RMB (not that we had any, as they thought we were tourist) Busy t junction road so parking is limited but nearby street packing is available

Ordered takeout today, steamed pork ribs with rice. My wife and I both had diarrhea after eating. We don’t know whether the rice was sour or the meat was sour.
