This is very good service and delicious meals I very so recommend it very good as a dinner and a lunch and is better with friends and family

Whenever we have enough money and we are in the area we will come here! They have great food and fast service. The people here are very kind!

Fish and chips delivery. Fish was good , batter soggy too thin. Chips were like the last out of fryer, odd sizes bits and pieces

Hi, Just ordered Singapore noodles, Rice, Chicken balls and Beef curry. Noodles and Chicken were ok, but Beef curry was just awful ...inedible. I have lived on Heatherside for many years and it used to be not too bad but alas not any more. I phoned to complain and to let them know how bad it was and initially they seemed ok with the situation without even an apology. Eventually i did get a "sorry" and after pushing they offered me 10 % discount (3.50) The actual curry cost 6.00...a few laughs in the background did not help their cause. I suggested that the cost of the curry would be fair to reimburse but they were not interested and were happy for me to leave a negative comment. A simply apology would have done but clearly Mr Lau are not bothered. I consider myself to be a fair and honest customer but the attitude when complaining over very poor food was not needed. Its quite simple.......dont give them your money.......i wont.

Superb Chinese. We ordered family meal recently at the beginning of Oct. I have to say that the quality of their Chinese was excellent. We had a mixture of chow mein, sweet and sour Hong Kong style, chilli beef, king Pow chicken and a few other dishes. The quality of the food was amazing. Really fresh and tasty. Looked at some reviews and don’t understand why people have not had a good experience as we have always had great quality food from Mr Lau s l. Well done to the family keep up the good quality and freshness as the better quality of food the more your ratings will go up.

First time using this particular takeaway and would definitely use again. Food delivered fast and was nice and hot. Not greasy or fatty. Very enjoyable.

Came here as it's are local takeaway and we have been before with no problems. This time was different, it was a Friday and was not too busy, with 4 customers waiting for their orders, so I ordered a minced beef & onion pie with chips for my partner and some hot & sour soup, plus king prawn curry and rice for myself. The place only takes cash (no signage for this) and in today's world most people pay by card, phone even their watch, so had to go to the cash machine to get cash (if a business is asking for cash only), especially after covid and all, maybe inland revenue need to take a closer look at their books?? so we all waited for our orders, other customers came in and ordered and got theirs straight away. One of the customers that was waiting before me asked how long would their order be as they had been waiting some time, the man said that they were waiting on the chips to be cooked, even though 3 customers. had come in after all of us had been served with chips. I finally got my order and walked back home, my partner took the food and was just about to dish it up when she said "Where's my chips" I said I ordered them, so she phoned them up to complain, and the man on the phone asked who I had given the order to and I replied the young kid (who we found out was only 13 years old) and should not be working. The man said we didn't order any chips and so my partner said why would I order a pie and not chips, she said that it was the shop's fault and they needed to deliver a potion of chips to our home as it was the shop's mistake (even pointing out that a young kid should not be serving (wonder what social services would think) the man said it would take half an hour to deliver, which my partner said that we were less than a 10-minute walk from them and that they could walk and deliver them to us, the man just said we should come and get them. I walked back to the shop and noticed the young kid was now outside the shop (funny that) and just ordered another portion of chips and went back home where by now my food was cold. Very bad customer service and will now use another takeaway who are a lot better.

Waited 1.5 hours for food and wrong delivery turns up, rung restaurant they said they will call drive 15 mins later had to call again they said it would be at least another 30 mins The wrong food looked dreadfully only fir for bin

Mr Lau's is my local and also preferred choice for Fish & Chips - cod is always very fresh, flaky, chunky and the batter is absolutely scrumptious! Chips are the best around - I have tried out all the chippies in Frimley & Frimley Green/ Mytchett to see if they could be beat, and nothing compared. The portion sizes are very generous and prices competitive. Food is served in good time and nice and hot. The owners are very friendly and seem to remember my preference even though I've only gone in three times since the start of the pandemic and maybe once every few months before that. Really worth a visit.

Ordered a selection of dishes for my birthday and yet again the food was superb. Crispy beef was so crispy the smoked chicken was so tasty and all the dishes were piping hot. I always collect my food as near by and maybe that’s why my food is always hot. Top tip collect your food save delivery cost and eat hot food. Staff was very polite too.

Just ordered a range of Chinese dishes for Father’s Day and have to say it was fantastic. We had beef chew mein, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, chilli and salt king prawns, chilli shredded beef and a great product which not tried before smoked chicken. The smoked chicken is a must have as it’s small pieces of crispy chicken. Food was hot, containers lovely and full and quality of products really good. Can’t see why the reviews for Mr Lau are not so good as our food was superb.

Really nice Chinese food for takeaway, despite the tired shop. Family run, takeaway from here is always nice, 8 think they are on just eat now as well. Always enjoy their pork Hong Kong style, friendly staff, good value.

Mr Lau's how I miss you! Moved to Exeter and yet to find a better Chinese takeaway. My wife misses your chips - I miss the M1s! Look forward to visiting next time I am in the area. I would recommend this establishment to everyone.

Decided to have a take away meal from Mr Laus. The food was pretty disgusting, I had the chilli beef and egg fried rice. The food was so bland and lacked any taste at all. I wouldn’t waste your money or time.

This is our local fish and chip shop and we’ve always had good fish and chips or sausage and chips from Mr Lau’s. The portions are large. The staff are always polite. They only take cash, but there are two cash points just around the corner. We’ve tried lots of fish and chip shops in the area and Mr Lauks is as good if not better than some. We haven’t tried the Chinese food, so can’t comment on that.

The squid is very good and they give you huge chunks as well, also the ribs are delicious, the chicken curry is delicious as well everything is lovely. And the most important is that the noodles are not dry.

Not just good fish and chips but in my opinion some of the next Chinese in the area. Well prepared great range of regular plus special dishes. Good portions and well packed in non leak containers, well worth a try. Only downside is they do not take credit cards, cash only but there is a machine across the road.

This is a takeaway and it’s one of the worst in the area. I have used this twice for fish n chips n Chinese. Both occasions,along with other patrons ,I’ve had to wait 15-40mins. The ladies are very polite but always apologise for the wait. So why don’t they do something about it. The food is NOT worth waiting for. As a fish and chip takeaway , Everything is very greasy. Chips are the best thing at this establishment even though they’re soggy. Fish the size is deceiving. It is very small covered in a very thick soggy greasy batter. It’s tasteless. Chicken,deep fried tough and rubbery, sausages are stodgy greasy and in a thick horrible batter. Chinese takeaway absolute rubbish I had ........ hot & sour soup (my favourite so know a good one) this just tasted of corn flour,was bland with rubbery bits of scraps, one shrimp nothing else House special chow mein Very bland. Noodles tasted like the ones out of a supermarket packet. There was no seasoning or bean sprouts. One over cooked hard and chewy king prawn with little bits of dry rubbery meat scraps. I could’ve cooked better. Grilled pork dumplings Very greasy. Fried not grilled. Again tasteless no seasoning contents were very stodgy like very cheap sausage meat. The best part of this was the sweet chilli dip. Clearly out of a jar so even they couldn’t go wrong. It’s worth a Drive further to Deepcut,Camberley,Sandhurst

Used to be really good but I stopped buying here months ago after really nasty Chinese meal. Maybe the new owners need to take stock of their standards

Worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Don’t waste your money like we did on a takeaway It was inedible!

It was definitely yesterdays fish and chips. It was greasy, soggy, and chips were terrible. Used to be very good, not anymore. Wont be going back there.

Was looking for a quick meal for myself and my two children. After finding the selection in the Sainsbury local rather uninspiring I though I would give Mr Lau's a chance, despite the bad reviews. What a mistake. I ordered haddock and chips for my children to share between them and the Chinese box meal thing which was sweet and sour chicken and beef with vegetables and special fried rice. I can quite honestly say, it was possibly the worst chinese, and fish and chips I have ever tasted. The batter on the chicken and the fish (clearly the same type of batter used for each) was thick, uncooked under the very outer layer and absolutely dripping in foul oil. The fish was pretty small for the price,it looked big, but only because there was soo much claggy thick batter. The chips were soggy and limp. The sweet and sour sauce for the chicken was vile. The cheapest nastiest stuff they could buy I imagine. Pure MSG with sugar and vinegar and some colouring and maybe a few spices for luck. It was unlike any sweet and sour sauce I'd ever tasted. The beef, was like beef in bisto gravy with some chinese spices. I only ate some because I was so hungry and I didnt want to waste my money entirely. In summary, this was a terrible meal. I don't really understand how the chinese people who run it can honestly think that muck was even vaguely chinese. I can't imagine they eat this themselves so why serve it out!! Gross. Never again.

After a slightly disappointing meal a few months back, got Fish & chips this time and it was excellent!! The ribs were a little disappointing tho.

Our take away food was absolutely 'orrible'. Unrecognised dishes. Shredded beef? Sweet and sour? Roast pork? Never again. Most went in the food waste bin. Very, very disappointing indeed. Our calculated bill differed from theirs...all of this made for an experience not to be repeated.

Food was poor quality, tasted of nothing. Dishes were filled out with vegetables and minimal meat. Will never order from here again.

Having been a regular for many years the new owners had a hard job keeping the quality of the past. After a few ups and downs they are certainly back on track to being a good local take away.

Ordered a family takeaway live within the 3 mile radius for free delivery.

Fish and chips, etc - Go to Frimley Green instead!

Having recently moved to the area we thought of having a take away from this place. It is a Chinese place that also doubles as a fish and chips. We were worried about this combination but we gave it a go. I have heard that its fish and chips is fine (but not from personal experience ) but we went for Chinese options. Lemon chicken for my wife and pork with mushrooms for myself. Awful food. Lemon chicken was small breaded pieces of chicken. Hardly any chicken in and fried leaving a crunchy bad taste. My pork you could easily tell it just came out of the microwave having a bland taste. Don't know about their fish and chips menu, but as far as the Chinese menu is concerned, this was one of the worst I had. Stay away ...

Having used this place for many years it's sad to see the business sold on. I would say standards have dropped slightly as out meal was over cooked. Which is a real shame as it's on our doorstep. The upside the fish and chips were amazing!

This used to do the best fish and chips around here and the Chinese menu was "upgraded" in 2015. The new food was very good and they deliver!! However, our last couple of orders haven't been as good and I notice that the staff are different?? Maybe its changed hands?
