This place before it moved was amazing and im absolutely gutted about harrods shutting. Went back to try it in harrods before it closed and just wasnt the same. Missed the milkshakes and lattice fries ect but still good food

Had the classic burger and pulled pork. Absolutely fantastic, can clearly tell the ingredients are great!

Not the worst meal but not as it describes... I don't appricate how the staff didn't wash or glove there hands and then where eating behind the cafe bar.. Save on cost and just go to cooplands 👍🏼 the flavour was just pickle brine and nothing else as well having to pick out fluff from my meal.. 🤮 Glad I've tried it, wouldn't have it again

We came with my husband to try a new and different place. His sandwich smelled like a dish soap and the taste is extremely awful. He able to took only one bite and couldn't continue. He afraid it might be spoiled but nobody interested our concerns. And prices was expensive..

I ordered reuben sandos. it was unbelievably bad. I couldn't swallow the bite I took. Something was definitely wrong in it. When i said this problem they never accepted and were not helpful, their behaivor was rude. I definitely do not recommend.

Dry old tasteless meat. Didn’t have ribs on my platter. Didn’t tell me when I ordered.

I was waiting at the ‘all day breakfast’ bar with no service, when a very kind gentleman approached me to say they had closed early for the day without notice. He then directed me to try some of their food and thought I’d give it a try. Tasted fantastic. Amazing service and food. I’ll be coming back!

First time there and will definitely go again. The food was superb but what made our visit was the guy who served us. He made us feel very welcome and made us laugh with his presentation of the menu and what was available. A refreshing change from some of the miserable people we have encountered at other restaurants. Mr Hugo, he is a credit to your establishment!!

This is now one of our favourite restaurants when venturing into the town. EXCELLENT staff, extremely good service. We love the food. The black cherry vodka milkshakes are TO DIE FOR by the way ❤

Quite expensive and food was cold

Not so much a place I'd rush back to but there wasn't that much to complain about either. I had the Cheesus Kebab, it wasn't bad but my jalapeno and onion toppings had been embedded in the bread. The sweet sriracha sauce was a poor choice too. I think I paid more than £2 for 330ml of Coke Zero too, which is bit of a joke. Service was very fast and staff were relatively friendly. The self service machine was easy enough to use.

Having spent a few years in Germany I loved the idea of getting an authentic Currywurst, Mr Hugos didn't disappoint. The wurst was lovely and as I remembered, it was also nice to have another dining out location that's not burger based. I will be going again and would recommend people to try it.

Came in today to try their signature dish Wiener Schnitzel, sat down with a pint, staff member came back 5 mins later, said we haven't had time to prep the Schnitzel..! What?? lol!! their most expensive dish on there menu! I asked for my money back, got refund, ... His couldn't care less attitude finished the experience off, as I finished my pint I looked around to say goodbye, thinking id get some sort of sorry for your experience today... but he was too busy chatting to his friend outside Poor Customer Service Poor availability of there most expensive dish Poor staff attitude Won't be returning, shame as I love German food and have travelled around Germany for over 30 years... Was excited to have a German restaurant in Hull... And it's failed on the first attempt I've added a pic of me drinking my pint while I waiting for my none existent food nicht gut!! 👎🏻

For Hammonds of Hull restaurant — rude and disinterested staff, not the level of customer service you expect in a high end food hall. Quality of food did not justify expensive price points either. Disappointing experience

So I was in town and I fancied a burger from a changed so I decided that I was going to chance my hand at Mr Hugo having walked past it in the past. I was greeted by very attentive staff who helped me with my order I had a cheese and smash beefand bone burger with (you can build your own) jalapenos and carrotwith a garlic sauce it was very nice lattice chips and spartan beer. It was the best burger I've had in 5 years and the restaurant and staff well one very nice lady made the experience even more enjoyable.

I lived in Germany for 5 years and have eaten my body weight in currywurst so recon I'm a bit of an expert. Had one in Mr. Hugo's today for my birthday, and it was lovely, curry sauce spot on fries, and potatoes salad excellent, and the wurst chopped up, just like in germany. staff really nice. I will be back without a doubt so overall a nice place to eat out.

Nice enough all tho the price it's a bit to much for the way that food it's served and tastes. They do have very nice beer and milkshakes and delicious minty mayo. It's worth trying once.

Absolutely Brilliant. Went dined before we went to a shoe at the bonus arena. The food was fantastic and the gentleman that served us was absolutely fabulous. A thorough gentleman.

Food tasted like cardboard boxes 📦 hotdogs 🌭 burgers 🍔 and chips 🍟

Some really nice food, attentive staff and all served up in a very clean and attractive restaurant. Ive now been here a couple of times and both times regardless of what ive ordered has been a pleasant experience thanks to crispy chips, flavourful sauces and top service. The only downside I really have is some of the pricing of the sides. Its not an issue with the set meals but if you happen to buy a burger, the price does rocket up as some of the prices of the sides dont really feel adequate (such as the pricing for the bread pretzel).

Great tasting food, all they need is a decent coffee machine. Worth a visit

Nothing great to say. Nothing bad to say. It was fine. Ok. Mediocre. The Weiner Schnitzel was made of what tasted like chicken thighs compressed together wrapped in a breaded crust which had been deep fried and was dripping in grease and tasted of dirty oil. A little off putting. The fries were delicious. The potato salad was very tasty. The whole meal was hot and filling. The milkshake was nice. The currywurst, was good, despite it tasting like the £1.99 microwavable currywurst pots from Lidl that they get in from time to time. Nothing wrong with them, but there is a significant price difference. Don't get me wrong, it was a perfectly acceptable and edible meal. Relatively fairly priced for what we got, but if I wanted a bite to eat in that area of hull, I'm afraid my money would be spent round the corner in the new German Kebab House eatery. Probably won't be back, but glad I tried it. Clean area and friendly staff.

A clean restaurant that has a bit of a fast food vibe. The waitress was so helpful with everything and helped without a problem. Food was actually mighty fine. Cheese, bacon and marrow mash burger. Lattice chips. Really tasty, you get a choice of sauces which are put in the burger but you can get mayo/ketchup separately. Good value great tasting food. We will return.

Had big expectations for our first trip to Mr Hugo in Hull but it didn’t quite live up to them. The Bacon Cheese Smash Beef & Bone Burger was good, tasty and freshly made and the lattice fries were nice but the price was far too high. For a place that offers a dine in option, what we were presented with felt more like an expensive takeaway or fast food. The burger is very good however but with my friends trying the Currywurst, Weiner Schnitzel & Kebaps, the portion size does not reflect the price.

Been longing for a decent Bratty, Mr Hugo was the place to go, friendly attentive and efficient service, in the words of Arnie "I'll be back". Thanks

Bit expensive but really nice food.

Unfortunately this is not worth visiting. Unable to cancel order 1 minute after placing. Largest soft drink available is 330ml and costs £3. Poor quality milkshakes as it is vanilla milkshake mixed with cheap syrup and for this privilege you will be charged £5, the same as other more premium restaurants or Takeaways. Overall the quality is pathetic and the prices very high. This might be a month old restaurant but with poor food and poor service I can't see it lasting long. If you can't be bothered to read the above and you're on the fence, avoid this place.

Great German food, very relaxed surroundings and very friendly service!

Poor service due to only 1 person serving, she was very apologetic did refund us cash , waited 50 mins for sausage and chips, beer came straight away, I'm sure it will be better with more staff.

Vibey!!! Happy that it has Spaten on draft. Food actually tastes very good but bit sad to see a pretzel cut in half, especially considering the price.

Food was excellent! The cheese frankfurter especially was delicious, and the chips were very well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was served quickly. It was my first visit and I will be going back soon!

We had heard good reviews for Mr Hugos so decided to give it a try for my birthday. We were a party of 4 adults and a 10 month child. They did have high chairs which was a bonus. The atmosphere was relaxed. The place was clean staff were friendly and it was easy to order from the ipad. However 2 meals came at least 10 minutes before the others and were not exactly what was ordered. The burgers were missing onions and mayonnaise. We sent them back to be rectified and did receive an apology. Bt this time 4 diners were sharing the 2 diners fries and waiting on the return of the burgers and the original meals still had not arrived. When the burgers were returned the other 2 meals eventually arrived, missing pretzels. We didn't complain again, just ate and left. We noticed that other diners were returning their orders as well. I am afraid that I wouldn't recommend this place. Every order had items missing from it. Pricing was reasonable if you get what you pay for. What to do better. Make sure all meals are complete and arrive with the diners at the same time.

Great food, the burgers (and the many toppings) are amazing and great value. I thought the currywurst was a little over priced.

Lovely and friendly staff but...the food was a bit of a let down. We ordered the the vegan bratwurst which turned out to be half a pretzel, stingy little chips and sausage chopped up in thirds (£9) and we ordered the Buddha bowl with vegan schnitzel (£11), it was mostly sauerkraut and grated carrots meshed together. The schnitzel was beaut and so were the sausages but for the price and the stuff you get with it was poor...

Trendy burger place with a German twist. Build a burger style menu with a vast range of toppings and styles of fries. Easy ordering, very friendly staff and prompt service. Definitely worth a visit.

This is just what Hull needs! Absolutely amazing food, really good menu and a nice relaxing atmosphere. The staff are fantastic, super nice and helpful. Good vegan/veg food and good German beer!

A unique find in Hull Town centre. Came to try this new restaurant and was really impressed by it, the menu is different, offering lots of German style street foods and it's very affordable. The Bratwurst was well prepared and came with a large amount of fries, warm pretzel and a nice potato salad. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend trying one of their milkshakes!
