Mr Gatty's Tea Room in Hyndburn

Great lunch in this small tearoom in Gatty Park, great staff, great food, and I found out today they support a charity based in the building.

Came for lunch the other day as had seen pics of their food online. Their pics of cakes in particular looked spectacular! On their counter in the cafe were a small handful of cakes that looked a tad dry At the table we were shown the menu and it looked a decent choice of food and drinks. Chose a sweet chilli wrap that came with side salad and crisps It had been cut into 2 thin wraps but it was so dry as there was hardly any filling ? I unrolled it and it was the odd bit of thin chicken I would rather pay a higher price and be able to taste the filling and not just the wrap Left disappointed.

Came for afternoon tea. Had the smaller version for £10 which consisted of five small sandwich quarters and a cherry scone with jam and insufficient whipped cream ( would have preferred proper clotted cream). One large cup of tea came prior to the food. Surprisingly we had to pay extra for further cups of tea which came in tiny one person pots between two of us. I got half a cup. Why be stingy with tea when it’s the cheapest ingredient and you need several cups with such dry food.? Not impressed. .

We celebrated my sister’s birthday at Gatty’s tea room and could not be more delighted by the service we received. Ahead of the event we received excellent communication, help, and support from Chris and Leanne. On the day itself we continued to receive fantastic service from Dave, Liz, and the wonderful kitchen staff. The food was fresh, delicious, lots of it and amazing value for money. The staff were hard working, friendly, and altogether outstanding. I cannot praise this place highly enough. Definitely a cut above the rest with the product and service they provide. Also, a very clean and pleasant environment. Thank you SO much to everyone at Mr. Gatty’s tea room. We will be back as often as possible!

My family and I have visited this cafe many times in recent months, lovely food and lovely staff, great choices of food and always met with a smile. Friendly environment.

Always come for the afternoon or high tea selection, always amazing food for super cheap, and always makes for a lovely trip out with my sister! Absolutely wonderful staff always make it that much more worth while!

Booked afternoon tea as part of my wife's birthday celebrations. The presentation was excellent. There was plenty of food and great variety It was really tasty. As much tea as you wanted. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Will go again.

Went for afternoon tea, Birthday treat from niece. It was lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful. I have visited before and never had a bad meal would highly recommend.

We had visited today for the High tea and it was incredible, we visited 7months ago we had a new member added to our visit today and they thought it was incredible too, the food was delicious and well presented. We would definitely recommend we have enjoyed every visit.

We were shopping in Lidl and decided to have a walk over the road to this attractive Victorian building set in a small park. The café is in a pleasant room on the ground floor. We had two coffees which cost £5.20 for two flat whites. Not sure what the food was like, but the offerings on the daily special board looked quite tempting. The only parking outside the building is reserved for disabled spaces.

The staff are super friendly, the cakes are to die for, the food is scrumptious and the great thing is you're also helping a social charity every time. Forget international chains, support local, support charities.

My favourite is the home made soup. Other meals are very tasty too. Good atmosphere and very friendly. I feel comfortable visiting on my own. Would definitely recommend if you're wondering where to go.
