Boardwalk Cafe Bar in Hyndburn

Had the pleasure of dining at the Boardwalk this morning for Breakfast for my Sisters birthday.. We ordered 2 small Breakfast & coffee, also orange juice, the food arrived hot & was so delicious 😋 very tasty, would definitely recommend this cafe, coffee was also hot & delicious! Thanks to Elsie for the wonderful surprise birthday cake for my Sister 😃

We called in for a coffee as the café we used to go to in this part of Accrington has sadly closed. However, we found this café to be a good replacement. There was a very friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed two good quality flat white coffees at a reasonable price.

Best Breakfast in Accrington by a country mile , fantastic value for money quality ingredients. The staff are super friendly , we wouldn't go anywhere else

Overall the butty was good and the presentation was nice, the only thing that put me off was the fermented coleslaw which is a real shame.

Great food my only complaint is please wait till both people have finished eating till you clear table nothing worst then you still eating and they take your partner's plates away have you not been trained to know you wait till both r the table have finished . apart from that would highly recommend you try cafe if in Accrington

Food is really nice and fresh, I found the place, comfortable and quirky staff are really friendly and I got the feeling if you needed to chat they would happily chat with you far as long as needed I think it came to £18 odd but I insisted they kept the change from a £20 note that was for 2 people so I must say very reasonably priced for the excellent quality of the food, especially in these difficult times. The only problem I found and this is probably me not them. It’s not a complaint it’s just a bit of constructive criticism. The coffee cup was enormous I like a nice mug of coffee but the cup was way to big the coffee tasted week so that is my only constructive criticism

Bizarrely, we saw a write-up for The Boardwalk online, while we were in the middle of France. It sounded well worth a visit so upon our return, Julie and I thought we'd pop in. The Boardwalk was warm and inviting, the atmosphere perfect. Laughter met us from behind the counter and some good banter with the customers there. The breakfast had been recommended so I went for that. Julie went for scrambled eggs on toast. Tea and coffee arrived quickly with a smile, followed soon by our breakfast choices. Both meals were good to look at and very good to eat. A happy place with free laughter and banter, good food and a warm welcome. This was our first visit. It won't be our last.

I’ve been eating here for years now. About once a week for breakfast. It’s the best breakfast you’ll have in Accrington by far in my opinion. It’s all cooked fresh, no deep fried bacon, no deep fried sausage, just all properly cooked food that tastes like it should and not all Of the same greasy oil a lot of places do. The place is spotless, the staff are very friendly and a good laugh, the locals are entertaining and the whole experience is great. It’s about £8 for a bloody good breakfast and a big pot of tea. Might not be the cheapest but it’s worth 10 times that if the £5 ‘full English’ crap you get in other places, unless of course you like a 10p sausage? Ten out of ten for me. No question!

Absolutely amazing. Went for a friend's baby shower. The food was incredible and the place is just beautiful.

Absolutely love this little haven. Always have my favourite, smashed advocado, asparagas, bacon and poached egg on toast and an americano always served in a beautiful cup. The ladies are always lovely and provide much more than just food. The atmosphere is always welcoming and happy. Could truly visit every day. Keep doing what you are doing its a pleasure to visit. 💞

Visited recently with the hubby and granddaughter, Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The full English breakfast was the best we have had in a long time and even though they didn’t have a child’s small breakfast on the menu,still offered to make one for our granddaughter. Will be returning again soon.

Wife and I nipped in today to keep out of rain while looking for a laundry. What a pleasure to go on there. Two girls were absolutely lovely and the food was fabulous. Will make a point of going there in the future when in the area.

I had the broadwalk breakfast, well presented, well cooked, good quality ingredients, the sausages weren't quite the best for me, but that's just a personal opinion. There's only one place in Accrington that do a better breakfast, I highly recommend, I will be going again.

First time for a full English breakfast this morning to take out, and was very satisfied with the service the food was excellent very nice people serving. Will definitely have more from Boardwalk. Well done excellent experience Mark Spedding

Just had an afternoon tea delivered for my wife’s birthday, what can I say it is fabulous couldn’t fault it for the price, everything you needed and more would definitely recommend them, give them a try you won’t be disappointed I’m sure

I received an amazing afternoon tea for a birthday surprise from my thoughtful sister in law. I have never had an afternoon tea like it ever. It was high quality products and there were so many of them on my platter. It was suited to my vegetarian choice and every morsel was so tasty. I felt so pampered. My thanks to Elsie and her team for making my Birthday so very special. And if you haven't done already, I recommend you try it yourself. You will not be disappointed. quality

I have celebrated two birthdays with boardwalk, one before covid and one during lockdown 2.0, both times we really enjoyed it and had a fab experience. Brilliant, friendly and helpful staff!

Rushed by unprofessional waitress, actually took our food while i was actually eating it, bacon was cremated, not impressed unfortunately.

What can I say other than... FABULOUS.! I'm notoriously difficult when going into cafes for food as I have a delicate stomach, but this was on another level, everything freshly cooked and served piping hot. We got the full English with mushrooms and the husband got both mushrooms and black pudding as well, he said it was the best black pudding he'd had, we also had a pot of tea and toast on the side. I'd definitely recommend and we will be going again. Staff are lovely, welcoming and so friendly the place is spotlessly clean and has a lovely homely feel. Do yourself a favour and visit.

I had the smashed avocado and the OH had the Boardwalk breakfast, not a morsel left on either plate, very lovely ladies running the cafe and clear COVID signage around. Definitely would recommend and well deserving of its other fab reviews

I am salivating just thinking of the breakfast bench we just had. My friend Cheryl took us here for the first time. What a surprise. 3 adults for breakfast that appeared on 2 mini benches. There was toast, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon, hash browns, black pud, pastries, cakes, yogurt, jams etc, tea/coffee, bagels and salmon and cream cheese. OMG.......I didn't want it to end but sadly it had to. We ended up taking away the pastries. DELICIOUS. A small cafe but immaculate. The ladies that ran the place were so so nice. They welcomed their regulars by first names as if they were family. We paid a fair price for the food and it was worth it. Elsie and the team gave us the best service ever. We parked around the corner but there is parking outside. Lovely experience and we will be back when we visit again.

Our family love this fabulous cafe. Elsie and her team couldn't be more welcoming if they tried. We go every Saturday for breakfast and this week treated ourselves to a socially distancing afternoon tea. The food never disappoints.

It's like home from home the best homemade food with the best friendleist service, Elsie is everyones best friend.

Excellent little cafe, bacon sausage sandwich is 12 out of 10, coffee is excellent as well along with the fantastic service all at a reasonable price, I like to visit as and when I can.

Me my sister and mum went for lunch here with my baby boy and baby niece staff here so welcoming lovely food is made with such pride and the tea cups and plates just add the lovely factor to it recommend for lunch in costa del accrington!!

My son wanted to treat me to breakfast on his day off and thought we'd try here for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised how lovely and friendly the place and staff were. Made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent! I had poached egg on advocado with asparagus. Perfectly cooked and delicious. My son had the full English. Again perfect. Top ingredients. The prices are more than fair. Will definitely be going back to try the afternoon tea and have recommended it to several people. What a lovely relaxed and friendly cafe and staff. 😁🤗

Now go regularly when in Accrington. Excellent food friendly staff who take time to remember names and details about you. I have had several different meal and snacks all are well cooked and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend

Called in for a breakfast+a drink of tea. Got served quick, server was helpful, polite, tidy in appearance. Food was tasty, room was very clean.

Still the best place to eat in accrington. The fact that Elsie has plenty of regulars who go every week, plus people who always pop in when they're in the area is testament to the high standards of food and staff friendliness.

Really, really bad. A BLT and Poached Egg on toast with beans defeated these. Never again.

The best thing I can say is what a warm and friendly welcome you always receive when you walk through the door into this comfortable, cosy cafe. Elsie and her team know just how to make you feel at home from breakfast to afternoon coffee and delicious fresh baked cakes ... lemon drizzle to swoon over!I go with my elderly dad who has less of an appetite these days and she'll tailor his plate to suit .. skinny chips are a winner I had the best afternoon tea here for my birthday which was fantastic value for money. Keep doing what you do best please.. I want to keep returning with family and friends!

Me and little boy visited for the first time in the holidays for a kids picnic bench and me afternoon tea. The staff couldn't do enough for you and each and everyone of them where so welcoming to us both. Food was lovely too. We will definitely recommend and visit again soon.

Great service as always! I regularly visit the boardwalk, whether it be for a light bite or one of their amazing boards, the food is amazing, the decor is gorgeous and the friendly staff can not you do enough for you, they always make my three year old boy so welcome and go above and beyond us all

Lovely staff ,superb food !!...the hot beef and onion sandwich is yummy (so good I have been twice in the same week).My partner ordered the ploughmans from the special board,and it was HUGE for just £6.50.We go to a lot of cafes / pubs and we have had ploughmans a lot ,he said this one was the BEST EVER !Then cream scone for pudding .....oh....yeah !!! Well worth the short walk from the town centre.

Went to the boardwalk cafe for my friends birthday and loved every second of it from start to finish. Very relaxing, the food is beautiful and the atmosphere was just what we wanted! I couldn’t recommend enough!

I went to boardwalk with a couple of my friends for lunch. The staff were so friendly and we were welcomed warmly. The food was lovely. Bonus that it came with out having to wait a long time. Reasonably priced and would definitely recommend

Myself and my boyfriend had the full english, absolutely delicious, very reasonably priced, lady who served us was lovely. The music was a plus too, classic rock at breakfast time.

Went with wife and 9 year old for lunch. Hot sandwiches and panini's followed by cakes for desert. All food very nice. Friendly service and a nice touch giving daughter a few sweets having ate her food. Total cost including drinks for 3 of us £21. Highly recommended

Just visited for lunch with my husband and youngest daughter.Lovely decor - very clean.We were greeted with a warm welcome and all picked individually off the menu.Everybody enjoyed their food and all staff were very cheery and provided extra little touches to ensure we had an enjoyable experience.Will definitely be recommending this place to others and visiting again!

A lovely little cafe with very friendly staff and delicious food and coffee. Also very reasonably priced. Go in on a Tuesday when the owner's mum and her friend have their lunch and you will not be disappointed. They're a proper comedy double act. 😊

Took my husband in for a treat and we had breakfast, Staff were really friendly. The breakfasts arrived on COLD plates, the waitress forgot my black pudding and was brought later having been warmed up in the microwave and not fried or grilled. When I mentioned that I liked my hot food on a hot plate she just laughed and said i should have asked for a warm plate?? Surely hot food should be served on a warmed plate?? When I mentioned I didn't like my black pudding warmed up in a microwave she just laughed and said 'oh do you not'. The meal was with 2 sausages but I only wanted one but wanted the black pudding, which I thought was a good exchange, but no, i was charged for the black pudding. I have been here a couple of times before and i have enjoyed my meal but will NOT be going again.

been coming here for months now, and with good reason! never once been let down by the food - had everything from homemade pies, soups, and full breakfast and the platters!! staff are always friendly and cant do enough for you. Prices are extremely good the sausages are quality! think they are from a butcher and you can tell! highly recommend this place. Nicky

Travelling in the area this week I have had a couple of terrible experiences. Thankfully on this occasion this was not the case. We received a very friendly and warm welcome from the staff. The service was extremely professional. Perhaps most importantly the meal experience was second to none. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and excellent fayre.

Treated to the panini afternoon tea here. 'Wow' is all I can say. Quality and quantity was lovely, as was the price. Suggest you don't have breakfast as we had to take a doggy bag home. Thoroughly recommend. The staff were lovely too.

Went for a tea for my husband and a cappuccino royal for myself the tea came in a pot and the cappuccino royal is amazing the staff are friendly kind and considerate highly recommend

Popped in here last week as it had been recommended by friends who are regulars. I enjoyed a pot of decaf tea and a prawn salad, beautifully presented and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely return.

Was passing this place and decided to pop in, so glad we did. The service was fantastic and so friendly, there was a delay with the food which we didn't mind at all but they were so apologetic when there was no need. I had the autumn platter and was impressed with the presentation and the amount of food. Would definitely be going back.

Took my little niece for afternoon tea at the Boardwalk Cafe on Monday for a treat. The staff were lovely from the onset and made us feel very welcome.

It seems I'm becoming a regular to this cafe, with good reason! The food is brilliant and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - even so far as remembering our orders! The place is beautifully decorated and always very clean too. My favourite part is the lattes as they do an amazing caramel latte for a very reasonable price. I couldn't recommend this cafe more.

Visited here a few times now and every time it has never disappointed!! the food is very reasonably priced with brilliant potion size and most of it is homemade which is rare to find in Accrington. The staff can never do enough for you and every time we have been they have gone out there way to please! would defiantly recommend

Love this place. This was my third visit. Last time I had the skinny bench. Today... the non skinny bench. Man it was so tasty. I loved how you got to pick a panini of your choice; I had mozzarella, tomato and pesto. Oh absolutely lovely!!!

Went if just for a coffee and a cake . Good tasty cake and brilliant price . Will visit again maybe for food next time

Took my wife for a picnic bench. The food was very taste. Toasted sandwich of our choice along with soup, portion of chips, side salad and a mini cheese board. Then a delicious scone with jam and cream along with profiterole style treats and a butterfly bun. All washed down with a pot of tea. Left some as too stuffed. Enjoyed the little touches such as the heart shaped plates and little individual casserole dishes with the soup in. My wife also loved her Oreo milkshake. We will definitely be back.

Had a luncheon treat today very friendly staff excellent food all cooked on the premises by the lovely ladies I had slimmers choice carrot and coriander soup and roll my friend meat and potatoe pie chips and peas tea pot for two we would have had a slice of the lovely cakes on offer but didn't have room after the very generous portions definitely pay them further visits

Myself and a group of girls visited for a baby shower, service was fine to myself, a few unnecessary comments were made to my friend but it wouldn't make me not want to return, food changes were requested and fulfilled prior to our visit as we had benches, it is definitely a place for a girly catch up

Been a couple of times for the picnic bench. Brilliant value for money! The staff are really friendly, make you feel welcome and are brill with kids. Looking forward to visiting after the revamp.

Just visited for breakfast this morning with my boyfriend

Me and Hubby had smashing breakfasts at this lovely little café (its not a fancy restaurant). It has a 5* hygiene rating, and is very friendly. Good selection of breakfasts, salads, snacks and cakes, extending to homemade pies on Fri/Sat, which we look forward to trying. Credit where its due, they haven't been open long and I'm sure they'll extend the menu options as they get established! They're closed for a weeks hols at end of Aug, but we'll definitely be going again in Sept.

Had high hopes before visiting, but was let down and not very impressed. The place itself is very nice and clean and looks quite new and that is about the only good thing going for it. The menu is very small and overpriced with only a choice of a few sandwiches and a burger. The service was ok, the cups and cutlery were not very clean, the food was tasteless and the tea I had was cold. Would definitely not be visiting again as we have been to other places and had a lot more for our money and enjoyed our food!
