We ordered 2 medium cod and chips… they could have passed for a large!! Great portions! Tasty fresh fish, and perfectly cooked chips! Absolute perfection. The curry sauce is out of this world! Definitely the best we have ever had. Highly recommend Mr Chips!

The cod was very flat, so I wondered if this was not cod. The flakes of fish were very small. The chips were not good. Lots of thin pieces. Not normal chips. Most ended up in the bin. Of the 2 portions, we ate only about a quarter of them.

The Fish and chip shop is lovley. Great Service, the cod and chips was delicious. How it was contained how ever was tricky to eat out of paper that was covered in grease, then falling apart in my hand. Would have been lovley in a disposable container while being wrapped in paper. And would be nice to have the option to pay by card or Cash. And very ideal as it's 5 mins walk from the coast, still nice and hot to eat when we arrive on the beach.

Excellent fish and chips bought to eat on the beach. Fish nicely battered, and not oily, chips were real chips not an amorphous mass of stodge. Good job, Mr Chips. To note for future customers - it's cash only.

I must be crazy I drive some distance just to buy fish and chips from Mr Chips, but you can always walk off the calories as Lancing beach is 5 minutes away.

Purchased fish & chips to eat on Lancing Beach. Really impressed. Chips were hot and crispy, not oily at all. Fish was also crispy and really tasty. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Stopped here for a quick Battered Sausage and chips and couldn't believe how good it was. Its a pretty small shop and parking isn't great but it's well worth the trouble of visiting if you can. The chips were perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The battered sausage was cooked just right with the batter being crispy but not too oily despite all of it being cooked fresh in front of me. Highly recommended.

Best fish & chips I've had for a very long time,just been to Mr chips for cod & chips & more for kids,fish was great but chips clearly reheated or refried,not good ,was at 5pm so 1st lot must remember to go later to get fresh fried batch

No not good, poor in fact, 5 o'clock on Friday order, an very thin piece of medium fish an white chips that were dry an old looking. Not what it used to be at all. Disappointed

The portion sizes are very generous and the fish is always freshly cooked and so so crispy. Honestly if you are after the best you've got to travel and get them from here. Curry sauce is freshly made to, not from the supplier. The best chip shop around

We had a lovely fish and chip lunch from here at the end of December! It was great value and tasted delicious. The staff were also really friendly.

Freshly cooked chips made with proper potatoes. A hot saveloy which is unusual nowadays. Friendly staff.

Take away and cash only!!! We stayed near this chippy and from the great reviews, thought we would try it. The chips did not disappoint!! They were incredibly tasty, quite chunky and crispy, despite having been wrapped up for nearly half an hour! If you prefer the soft, mushy chips (which on occasion I do), this place isn't for u. But I would say don't let that stop you from at least trying them.

We holiday in Lancing and this is one of the highlights. The fish and chips are always some of the best I have had, it really is an amazing gem.

Lovely staff and always delicious. Great curry sauce, fresh and perfectly cooked fish every time and the chips are exactly correct! It's sometimes really busy so can take a little while on a sunny day at dinner time but doesn't lose any stars for it as it's worth the wait!

Amazing chips. Small shop, wonderful people behind the counter and a very decent price. The food is standard chip shop fayre but the chips are the best for a wide radius.

The seafront cafe had a very long queue at lunchtime, so we walked up the road 5 minutes and so glad we did. Freshly cooked pie, fish and chips, served with a smile and eaten in the little nearby gardens in the sunshine. Perfect. We will definitely look to return.

Generally not that fussed about fish and chips but we were down by the coast in the middle of a pandemic and it seemed like an easy meal to eat outside, and we picked this place. Glad we did, because the fish was good and the chips were bloody awesome. I've had Heston's triple-cooked chips and these were right up there. Suffice to say, we'll be back.

A stone's throw from my house and wouldn't go anywhere else to be honest. Chips are perfectly cooked and the fish is great. Great friendly staff. There's often a que on the weekend, as it's known to be popular with people from all around Sussex.

There’s a reason there’s always a line on a Friday night. A true local, best-kept secret and consistently great quality and portions. The fish is really fresh, the batter is not too thick and always crispy, and they will do extra-crispy chips if you ask them (my girlfriend and I love them that way!). The service is always friendly and they’re only a few minutes walk to the beach.

Our favourite, we drive out from Brighton, get fish and chips and eat on the beach, always a treat
