Excellent meal. The staff were very attentive, greeting us at the door and coming straight over to take drinks order and popadoms. Food was very nice and really good value for money. Overall a brilliant meal and like I say the staff were excellent, Will definitely return!

My visit to Mowgli's Indian Restaurant in Whitchurch, Cardiff, left much to be desired, especially considering the high expectations set by previous positive reviews. Despite booking a table for three at 7:30 pm and arriving promptly, our experience quickly soured. Initially, a 15-minute wait seemed forgivable given the Christmas rush, yet the situation deteriorated once we were seated. While we were provided drinks, popadums, and dips, the staff seemed more engrossed in attending to large incoming crowds, leaving us neglected for an extended period. The frustration escalated as tables that arrived after us were served before us, causing noticeable delays in taking our order. Finally flagging down a waiter by 9 pm, we found ourselves waiting an additional 30 minutes for our food, which, unfortunately, failed to impress. The Lamb Rhogan Josh Curry, touted as a old favourite, fell short of expectations, lacking the authenticity and flavor one would anticipate. Equally disappointing was the Sea Bass curry, which, despite sharing the same sauce as the lamb dish, failed to elicit satisfaction from my friends. While some reviews rave about the food's excellence, my experience paints a different picture. The expansion of the restaurant might have contributed to the evident strain on the staff and kitchen. The subpar service and underwhelming cuisine left me questioning the establishment's ability to manage during peak hours. Having traveled extensively and sampled authentic Indian cuisine globally, including in India itself, I find it regrettable that Mowgli's fell short of even surpassing a modest Indian eatery in the capital of Laos, a testament to the underwhelming quality of their offerings. In conclusion, based on my disappointing encounter, I am unable to recommend Mowgli's Indian Restaurant. The combination of lackluster service, average food quality, and noticeable management issues during busy periods dims the allure of this establishment, especially amidst Cardiff's vibrant culinary scene.

Brilliant Indian restaurant, consistently lovely staff and great food. Recommend the butter chicken and murgh masala.

Came here for a meal ( hadn’t t booked ) we were given a table. Restaurant was busy for 7pm on a Tuesday night.. took over 29 mins to take our order and food seemed to take forever to arrive. My chicken was VERY dry so much so that I didn’t eat it however the curry sauce was delicious and the Naan bread was tasty. Husband loved his curry said it was the best he’d had. Mixed reviews from us but price was reasonable (but service was slow) Would return but will not rush back.

We were really looking forward to this Indian meal and we weren’t disappointed…..we booked for a Friday evening and even though we had booked, we had to wait quite a while for our table as it was so busy….it seems to be very popular….the food did not disappoint and we are already planning our next visit….

Disappointed in the food,never had a tikka masala in a creamy nutty sauce before, rather strange, my friend had the shredded beef curry, which, while very nice was very hot We were seated through the back on our own despite having booked ! This lacked atmosphere and didn’t enhance the experience in any way The service was good waiters, were friendly and helpful but I doubt we’ll be back

This restaurant serves exceptionally good food. We had a chicken dish served in a pineapple shell with fresh pineapple . Delicious. Also fabulous haraki salmon dish with beautifully cooked salmon in a rich sauce. Rice with mushrooms was excellent as was the pulao. We don’t live nearby but when we come back to Cardiff we will be coming here for sure

The staff were very welcoming and the place was so clean. The food was outstanding especially the fish. Not only would I recommend this I am coming back!!

This review is based on a home delivery not a restaurant experience. I use Mowgli once a week, so it’s fair to say I’m a loyal and regular customer. On Saturday 29th July all my family were getting together to celebrate the birth of a new baby. I suggested we use Mowgli rather than pizza which was the other option. I rang my large order thro shortly after you opened and requested a 7-7.30 delivery 7.30 being the very latest as some of the family had to travel home. 7 .30 passed by at 7.40 I rang for an update and was told the food would be with me any minute it wasn’t. 7.50 I rang again and was not impressed by the person I spoke to, he asked me if I was the person that had phoned before!! I explained we needed that order asap he was dismissive and I told him we were not happy with the wait. The food came to £120 approx, he then tried to tell me I had only just placed my order. What is most frustrating is don’t lie just say you messed up and didn’t get the delivery right, nothing worse than being told something and it doesn’t happen!

Go here frequently with all the family...they cater for vegetarian and children. Always a lovely atmosphere

The food was great, good size portions. Good variety of alcoholic drinks. The staff were very attentive and polite. Good value for money, we will be back. We have also recommended your restaurant to our friends.

Been here twice before and food ok and customer service brilliant but not this time. There was 5 of us and no one asked us for drinks for at least 15 minutes. We ordered water and had to ask for more as they wasn’t interested in seeing to us. Food was plentiful but no taste at all to the food. I wouldn’t return

Used to go to Mowglis crwys Rd until we were treated really badly by staff . Tried whitchurch village and sadly found simular treatment. I'm sure food is good if u can get thro arrogant staff and cold atmosphere. I feel like they getting back at us Brits for treatment Asian restaurants had back in 80s. Won't be returning. Mango tree in Whitchurch village is so friendly and accommodating. Don't care if menu not so vast. Friendly happy people means more to.me.

Attended Mowgli whitchurch last night with three mates that have extensive experience of eating Indian food ( as I also have). The service, price and quality of food was exceptional. This is a consistent top quality restaurant of the highest calibre. My tip, go for the lamb its exceptional and has been in every dish I've eaten at the restaurant. Quick professional service by the lads working there made it a cracking experience. Can't wait to go again..... SOON.

Place seems to be going downhill. It was very cramped - tables have become uncomfortably close - and they’ve always been quite close anyway! Main meal arrived cold - so we only had sides and rice whilst we waited for it to be reheated. It turned up when we’d almost finished and we said we didn’t want it and were told we could take it home as we’d be paying for it! We declined and it got taken away - we were still charged. Four tables in a row were without drinks and not a waiter to be seen. Then we just got asked if we wanted the bill. So we gave up, paid it and left.

After 5 months of lockdown went to my favourite Indian restaurant and was not disappointed. Six of us all had superb food and service, Gibon and team wonderful as usual. Thanks guys.

We have had many meals from Mowgli's, dining in the restaurant and take-aways. They are always first class but last night's take-away was exceptional. We were celebrating our Emerald wedding anniversary and the quality of the meal ensured it was memorable. Thank you Mowgli's Whitchurch

Ordered the Rajasthani mixed bhajee, so disgusting. Cold, gluey sauce with mixed frozen vegetables. No cheese, no green peppers. Nothing like the description. When I complained was told that they don’t use any frozen vegetables, so the peas are fresh?! Was 100%a frozen veg mix. They were apologetic but argued about the frozen veg and told me to call back if I wanted a refund as they were too busy. Partners meal was nice but won’t order from there again, mine ended up in the bin.

Ordered my New Year’s Eve takeaway the day before for a 20:30 pick up on NYE. I arrived at 20:00 on New Years Eve as it was busy outside when I past earlier that evening. I asked when I paid for my takeaway how long it would be and I was told 15 minutes. An hour later I went back into to ask where my takeaway was again and was told it was on the rack. Not sure what a rack is in the world of cooking but I was told again that it would be 15 minutes. I eventually got my takeaway at 21:45. All I can say is that this was pure greed by this restaurant. Trying to make as much money in a night as possible. I can kind of understand after the year the hospitality sector has had during the lockdowns we have had this year but I wonder how many of us waiting in the freezing cold on NYE will not be returning in the New Year. I for one will not be returning. One gentleman arrived at 18:00 to make an order and was told to come back at 20:00. He left with his takeaway 5 minutes before mine. A friend of mine waited 4 hours for his delivery to arrive. People were arriving while I waited to pick up their delivery as they waited so long and couldn’t get through to them on the restaurants phone. I must say that the food was lovely and I do hope for your sake that your customers on NYE are more forgiving than me and will return again in the near future.

First time at Mowgli’s and have to say I will definitely be back. Fantastic meal and staff were so welcoming. Definitely be back soon, try the Garlic chilli chicken it’s delicious!

Popular place, minimalist decor and socially distanced seating. Interesting menu, we went for a tasty chicken dish with fenugreek, rice and chips, nice man bread. Service very good. To be recommended.

Pedí una comida para llevar en Whitchurch Mowglis a las 7 p. M. Para recoger a las 8 p. M. (Un aviso con una hora es suficiente). Fui a recoger y tuve que esperar afuera durante 45 minutos hasta las 8. 45 para recoger, ya que no estaba listo para las 8 pm como se solicitó. Parece que estaban dando prioridad a los clientes del restaurante. Horrible servicio para llevar.

Pedí una entrega a domicilio a través de Just Eat, llegó con papas fritas faltantes, pompadoms fríos y suaves, nan keeman frío, Korma era como un pegote, mira el pollo. Llamé al restaurante de inmediato y pidieron un reembolso, me dijeron que llamara a Just Eat, me dijeron que el restaurante tenía que devolverme el reembolso. He pasado una semana tratando de resolver esto, pero ahora se han rendido porque se culpan mutuamente. Perdida de dinero. He sido cliente desde que abrieron y nunca volveré.

Nice meal but absolutely NO social distancing at all!! The next tables were not even one metre from us never mind 2m. The restaurant was far too busy , I felt uncomfortable & couldn’t wait to leave

Pedimos / recogimos nuestro indio de mowglis como comida para llevar durante el cierre cuando los restaurantes aún no estaban abiertos y ¡Dios mío, no decepcionó! La mejor comida india que he probado. Mi comida fue el pollo tikka con arroz y un peshwari naan ?. ¡Toda la comida que se ordenó se veía deliciosa y las porciones son enormes! ¡Todos los platos son suficientes para alimentar a 2 personas! Asombroso

I have been going to Mowglis for many years. Every time the service has been wonderful and the food delicious. Take aways also very good. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

My wife and I had eaten in the restaurant previously and had no doubts aboutOrdering a home delivery during the lockdown period. Ordering by phone was verysimple and the delivery was courteous and timely. Oh, and the food, as ever, was excellent. A very pleasant experience once again.

Had a nice meal for 2 adults, 2 kids, as per norm, but started to question value, as at £45 odd quite expensive for a curry takeaway I think ?Was only 4 meals and 2 rice, so against other types of takeaways its not great value for money.Poss now a once every few months treat rather than monthly ?Chip shop meal, for 4, comes in around half that figure.....just saying....

Extremely uneatable worst experience ever. My husband asked them to make indian punjabi style spicy paneer makhani he refused saying that we cannot make that spicy and recommended to take paneer tikka masala saying he can make that spicy and Indian punjabi style but when we had that it was unbearable sweet and horribly worst in taste. We couldn’t eat after a single bite. For which when we spoke to the manager he started speaking rudely and saying he cannot do anything and we asked him to return this dish and refund the money but he straight way refused and started speaking badly and misbehaving with us. We recommend don’t trust their words. The food is totally rubbish. Bad management, terrible customer service and worst standard.

First visit to this lovely restaurant and absolutely loved it. Beautifully clean and fresh inside (including toilets) and lovely helpful staff. We were a party of four and the portions were so plentiful that we couldn’t eat it all. One vegan in our party and they have an excellent vegan/vegetarian menu. Can’t wait to visit again, thank you Mowgli’s!

Went out last night with a couple of girlfriends for a catch up. We decided to stop by in mowgli's for a bite to eat. I had the Mowgli Chip Butty. delicious! I would definitely have this again one of the staff members, I think his names John? (tattoos) was so amazing with us! talking us through different food options and just being over all bubbly and friendly. I'm thinking of booking in for my 21st! thank you

We booked a table for 6 on the evening of the Wales v France Rugby game in February 2020. The table was ready for us when we arrived punctually. The restaurant was, as always, very crowded and very noisy; too noisy. (I think there are too many hard surfaces here which amplify noise.) Deicious food was served in reasonable time considering how busy they were and service was friendly, as we always find it. The food was really tasty, but the place was so noisy that normal conversation was very difficult. 3 of our party used the toilets and reported that they were very wet underfoot, unhygienic and very unpleasant.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were taken there by our daughter and son in law. The food was delicious, service was friendly and excellent. We thought the wine was reasonably priced and they have a good selection. The portions were generous, so much so that my wife had a take out bag of lamb biryani.Very good restaurant, we look forward to our next visit.

Hard to find fault, good service, excellent food, first time visiting we will be returning the monkfish was stunning

Visited Mowglis 25th Jan had pre booked our table for 4 for 8.30pm. We arrived at 8.20pm and the place was packed and very noisy, waited until 9.05pm before we were seated half way down the restaurant the tables were that close together we were touching elbows with people next to us we had to pull the table to one side everytime someone wanted to get up and when a waiter had to pass with the service trolley. On 2 occations a lady squeezed out from the table and her bum was actually dragging our table cloth and food off the table. One of the family had a starter at about 9.20 and we waited for 45min and were served our main meal at 10.05 with an apology for the wait. The food was bland, noise levels to high, and the slow service was disappointing. The young man at the bar apologised for the long wait but the man i think was the manager kept his head down and said nothing.

Visited here with my daughter and 2 work friends last Friday evening, for the first time.

Having booked this due to the reviews we were appalled by every aspect of this restaurant. Even though we had booked we were made to wait to be seated. My husband and I were placed on a 2 seat table mid way down the restaurant.

We called in here for a work xmas night out mid Dec. Friendly welcome on arrival, all the food was lovely, and quickly served considering how busy it was.. Will deff be happy to return..

For a birthday celebration we decided to go to Mowglis. It was a Tuesday evening and We hadn’t booked. It was early evening and they were able to accommodate us immediately. We were greeted like friends and shown to our table. The drinks order was taken immediately and poppadoms delivered. We were given plenty of time to consider the menu. There is such a variety of dishes to choose from it is a difficult chose. I have never ordered a fish main course before but the monkfish is delicious. The whole experience was good. Every dish we had was perfect. It is not the cheapest Indian restaurant I’ve been in but the quality is very good and worth it. The service was also very good.

This place was full when we went there just before Christmas, and next door was empty. Frankly, it should have been the other way around. As stated by others, the service leaves a lot to be desired. But more disappointing, when the food arrived it was all cool. Everything had to be sent back for heating up. They brought the meals back piping hot, but then when we ate our food, none of it was really appetising. Everyone tried to be positive and the best I can say is that this was not the worst meal we've had. But as the other was a small place in Spain that closed down the week after, it's not saying a great deal. Would recommend giving this place a miss for perhaps a year, until they've had a chance to change all the staff.

Website says open until 11.30pm. Rocked up at 10.30pm (after calling in advance); made to feel like we are stopping them going home from the moment we walk in. In fact we are, because nobody else is eating there. Ordered a paneer makhani. Paneer is less tasty than tofu. It’s not a makhani sauce either; they have put it in a korma - presumably what was left over. Gobi bhajee is not a bhajee; It’s a bowl of undercooked, bland, broccoli. One mouthful & the rest is in the bin. Nobody asked how my meal was. I wouldn’t have either. Paid up & fcuked off. The staff were LITERALLY out of the door before I was. I travel to India with work regularly and eat some beautiful food. I would struggle to describe this as food. Never going back.

Absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic and the decor creates a lovely atmosphere. The tiffin box was delicious, with a good choice of curries and the different breads were gorgeous. The service was also great: the waiter, Andy, was informative and helpful. We’ll be back for sure.

We had our club Christmas meal at Mowglis Whitchurch. Food was delicious, (as it always is). Staff are very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend their restaurant but you would probably have to book, especially on weekends.

We have eaten at their sister restaurant, Mowgli's on Crwys Road several times and always enjoyed the food. Yesterday we decided to have a takaway and on browsing through the options online, discovered that Mowgli's now has a branch in Whitchurch, which is nearer us. So, order made by phone and collected. I ordered a Chicken Shaslik which is marinated chicken, peppers and onions cooked on a skewer in the tandoor oven. Well, that's what is should be; what I had was tough dry chicken with no skewer holes in it so it could not have been cooked in the tandoor. It had no colour to it, no charring that it should have had from the searingly hot tandoor oven and looked and tasted like it had been pre-cooked then fried in a frying pan with some dry spices thrown it. very disappointing. I just hope that my pre-cooked chicken hadn't already been on someone else's plate! Similar story with my wife's chicken tikka passanda. Dry overcooked tough chicken with no skewer holes. Never again.

Went there with my girlfriend for an early evening meal. Had a brilliant time with great food and great service. Very friendly and helpful staff. 👍👍

I had been told about this place and had meant to try it for some time. I really love good Indian food and this has to rank among the best I have had. We came here on business and despite it being mid-week the place was busy, always a good sign in my view. The menu had the usual classic dishes but I was surprised at the number of beef based dishes too. We decided to be adventurous and tried a selection of "traditional" meals and several that we had not encountered before. We sampled each of the meal ordered and all were really impressive, There was not a single negative comment from anyone in our party. Suffice to say that we are looking for excuses to travel back just to eat here again.

Poor quality food, noisy surroundings, ‘instant’ service which is questionable after just ordering. This was a first tIme visit not to be repeated!

Welcoming environment & helpful staff. We had sheek kebab and chicken Tikka starters followed by Chicken Korma & a speciality Lamb Shank (which was marinaded with delicious spices and covered with minced lamb & baby potatoes). They also had a full and very reasonably priced wine menu. Service was very good (no long waits), excellent Naan bread and the whole meal was excellent value!

I have visited here and had takeaways on a regular basis, however last Friday something went badly wrong!.

Hands down best Indian in Cardiff, great service, wonderfully presented tasty food with great portions (always have loads left over to take home) and always a great atmosphere inside.

As title says at 5.30. We were shown table and menu quickly. The popadoms and chutneys were fresh and the main course and nan were ok. My wifes half of cobra was flat.We asked at least three times for the bill. But they were more concerned with serving people. So we went to counterto pay and again the waiter wasmore concerned in answsering the phone and NO THANK YOU. We shant be going there again. India gate much better.

Been coming to Mowglis for sit in meals and having takeaway’s regularly since they opened. Always fantastic tasty food, and super friendly waiters. Came for my birthday meal and had superb time as always.

So pleased that we found this - an Indian that has a wide range of gluten free dishes that all taste amazing. Even better - everyone else thought the same too!

We visited here on a Friday evening at 6.15pm. They fitted us in as long as we would vacate the table by 7.30.

Creative menu - plus the old staples. Charcoal Tandoor in use! Fab Naans. Friendly waiters. I'd have gone 5 stars but my Murgh Masala with keema was a bit old school greasy - LOTS of yellow oil in it which I tried to separate off a bit (my hips!). Still a nice dish though. A good find and will try something different next time.

This is a good addition to the Whitchurch scene. The service is always friendly and efficient and the food delicious. We are firm favourites of the fish and vegetarian dishes. Everytime we’ve been the atmos has been buzzing. Would definitely recommend.

First time of trying and will be my last. We ordered a lamb byriani and a chicken tikki massala. Keema naan and onion bahji. There was not one good thing about the meal. It was sickly sweet. The bahji was bland. Very disappointed with the meal. I'll be sticking to the india gate next door!!

Great food with a fair number of specials, I had the Chicken Tikka which was succulent and delicious. There were 5 of us and all enjoyed their meals, good vegetarian options for one of our number.

Trust me this is a superb restaurant in all ways. Lovely environment, superb service and exceptional food. All of the food is extremely high quality, but the lamb dishes are truly exceptional. The crwys road restaurant is equally as good.

Ordered takeaway, one of their specials, a few standards, some of the food like the nan bread was undercooked, doughy chewy and not very appetising, supposed to be chilli but not a hint of spice about it! Both the tandoori starter and the special chicken had all the hallmarks of precooked then warmed up, the starter gave the impression of not being cooked in a tandoor, thought the chicken had been cooked then a red dressing applied, very chewy and a bit tough and stringy! The chicken in the main course was similar, the sauce had a pallid red colour and looked not in the least appetising! Ate about a quarter of the meal. The mushroom bhaji was tasteless and the worst I've had! Very disappointing!

Have previously only eaten at the "head office" branch in Whitchurch Road but this new branch in Whitchurch (proper) was excellent.

Enjoyed the overall experience. Attractive, well presented restaurant with polite, attentive staff. Most tables full by 7.30 on the Friday we visited. Interesting menu- a change from the norm. Would eat here again.

Superb food at reasonable prices. Ambiance and service very good. What made it special was that my wife who is a coeliac was able to join us. Very rare to find an Indian restaurant that caters for people who can not eat gluten.

First try of new branch of this chain, and very good. Beef Zeera was superb meal and diff to norm. Takeaway ready on time, easy to park, perfect. Menu varied and new meals to try galore ! Will return.

My husband and I were visiting from Yorkshire and came to this restaurant under recommendation from a local. We were not disappointed. The portions were huge and extremely tasty. Service was really attentive and professional. I can say in confidence this is the best Indian food I’ve had in the UK. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

visited here on a Monday evening . both of us went for variations of meat from the tandoor and though plentiful was not very nice . the lamb was what could only be described as fury. time was limited and I hate complaining but will vote with my feet. plenty of people there particularly for a Monday so maybe it's just me or we picked the wrong dishes ?

We love Mowgli's in Cathays and so thought we'd try the one in Whitchurch. It was 7pm on a bank holiday Monday and they were very busy - fairy 'nuff. We were by quite a loud group of men on the sherberts but they kept it reasonably clean (we had kids with us). The waiting staff were not outright rude, but were pretty uncommunicative and you couldn't be sure they had actually heard or understood you as you often received a 'thumbs up' from them rather than a verbal response (probably given the level of noise/busyness). The starters were excellent and huge portions - yum! The main courses likewise.....except for the biryani sauce.......which was volcanic in heat and raw in flavour.......as we were all sharing, we all sat there for a good 20 minutes not being able to taste any of the other great dishes whilst our mouths calmed down. We complained and the waiter first asked if we would like some water and then later agreed that it wasn't biryani sauce and looked more like madras sauce (I like a good madras - it was way too hot for that) and it had been delivered in error by one of his colleagues. We were offered 15% off the food (which didn't even cover the biryani) but the meal, which had been lovely up until then, was ruined from that point on. One other issue was the cost of the soft drinks - these came in small individual glass bottles and so a 'large' coke or lemonade was very expensive. Such a shame.

Lovely restaurant and great food. A varied menu of well cooked food with attentive staff. This place deserves to be as popular as it appears. It is a shame therefore that they are capitalising on their success so much that they were hustling us out on Friday night and eventually just bluntly asked us to leave. No mention at time of booking that we only had an hour an hour to eat and chat and then would be asked to leave.

Called for a meal and was not disappointed. The service was good, if a little too attentive at times. Please let us all finish our meals before removing the plates. Starters were good as were the curries, particularly the Dhansak. Rice was hot and the Onion Bhajis and Bindi Bhajis were significant sized portions. Good value and tasty rounded off by pleasant service. Worth a visit.

If there is one thing that isn’t quite right it is that it can get loud but for us that’s it.

When busy it is very noisy: if you have poor hearing it’s probably worth avoiding during busy times. Had to leave before ordering... Room very large and echoes...

we were back in Cardiff and met up with old friends for a meal at Mowglis - it was our first visit but we'd certainly go again without hesitation

Having visited the Mowgli’s on Crwys Road on several occasions, I decided to try this one in Whitchurch as it is closer to where I live. The food was great, however we were told by the waiter on several occasions throughout the evening that we needed to hurry up due to other customers waiting for tables. Once before ordering, once before asking for the billl and then again after paying (despite not having finished our drinks). In the last instance the waiter tried to take our drinks away whilst telling us we needed to leave due to other customers waiting. This was extremely disappointing and made us feel unwelcome/uncalled as customers.

Staff very polite and helpful. Restaurant crowded on a Wednesday, thus testimony to its popularity. I ordered my usual dishes of bindi bhaji, brinjal bhaji, chicken special and a nan. Great blend of spices and great atmosphere.

Went here on Saturday for first time. First impressions were good. Really full and nice and warm. Six of us ordered different things from the menu. My starter was definitely not what I was expecting. Ordered shami kebab which is normally kebabs inside omelette. Had an omelette filled with spinach. Awful. We then ordered our mains. Two of them were wrong but by that time couldn’t be bothered waiting for new meals. My main was totally lacking in depth of flavour. Left nearly all of it. Definitely won’t be returning. Crwys Rd is definitely better, although I must say I thought the staff here were nicer

An excellent addition to the Whitchurch food scene. Make sure you book as it's always busy. If you don't like you're curry hot let them know as they come with a bit of heat.

Saturday evening is very popular and to be honest, the restaurant want the table occupied only for 1.5 hours. We booked for 7 p.m. and the table was already re-booked for 8.30 p.m. Even so, this gave us plenty of time for our curry.

Went here on Sunday the 10th Feb. My husband and i booked a table at 7pm. When we arrived we were seated and all seemed ok. Drinks order was taken and arrived promptly the restaurant was not nearly full. We had to call the owner man ( looked like it to us) to take our food order as we were waiting a while . We ordered a chicken korma, Madras, egg rice, chips and garlic nann with an onion bahji. Food arrived and looked ok, no metal warmers that sometimes you have in other Indian restaurants. The food was tasteless and could have been hotter. The onion bahjis were horrible they tasted like an onion rings no flavour or spice and the colour of them was all wrong. The korma again was tasteless my hubby tried it and he couldn't even taste it. I know Kormas are mild but still you can taste coconut or ground almonds. The chicken was also quite dry. The egg rice looked odd. Never had Indian egg rice like that before and was quite cold. The Madras was very spicy but that is individual taste. Nann was average and chewy. We had no courtesy check. All the waiters seemed rushed off their feet in their own little world. We also ran out of drinks. We couldn't eat anymore we had to call a waiter to say we had finished we told him about the food being tasteless and all he said was we will take the onion bahji off the bill funny that considering it was the cheapest item! Will definitely not return here. Poor service tasteless food. India Gate next door is so much better!!!!

Visited here with a few colleagues from work for the first time today. Service was very good and the food came out quickly. Starters and main course was lovely. Very tasty. And plenty of it. Highly recommended. Defo go back again

A crowd of 15 of us turned up for our Christmas Curry, and we weren’t disappointed! The food was outstanding and the service excellent! Will definitely be back!

Every December, just before Christmas, for a great many years several of the Cardiff Bird Club have joined up for a Christmas Curry. Last year we went to Mowgli's in Crwys Road, Cardiff & had an excellent meal, a real 5* experience. We were told that they were opening a new restaurant in Whitchurch, Cardiff so this year we decided to give it a try. Wish we had gone back to Crwys Road.

This was a very reasonably priced meal with good portion size, reasonably wheelchair friendly especially if you are in a manual chair

Visited this restaurant in November as a group of ten. We visit different Indian restaurants as a local curry club once a month.

A takeaway meal of 2 main courses, rice, poppadom and naan. Food was very tasty, plenty of meat, and premises were spotless. Food ready on arrival. Will be back soooooon :-)
