Went for dinner on Wednesday night. The interior is very nice; loved the massive mirrors, and the trees in the centre. Taylor (who was looking after us) was amazing; great combination of professionalism and friendliness. She explained the menu, gave us great recommendations as one of the party is not so keen on spices, and was always smiley and attentive. When the food arrived we were a bit surprised by the (small) size of the portions, which makes sense with the 'street food' concept, and at the end we realised they were more than enough. We didn't try any of the cocktails unfortunately, as we were still recovering from the night before. Overall, a very very good night, thanks to Taylor. P.s. I keep mentioning Taylor as when we arrived, we were standing by the door for quite some time, ignored by the staff; at least they could have acknowledged that they saw us.

First visit today after wanting to try the place for a while and, sadly, it was disappointing. Perhaps I'm old but, honestly, I don't want to sit on a swing to eat my meal. I think these fads are unnecessary if a place serves good enough grub for a fair price and this place doesn't. The food sounded good but wasn't really. It was distinctly average and, at roughly 9 quid per small plate, a bit overpriced. I found almost everything to be a bit under-seasoned so the flavours didn't really pop or hit the way I expected. Our waitress was perfectly attentive and patient, just the food and value for money (based on the quality of food) that let it down.

Visited the restaurant on Easter Sunday, the food is nice and we were served fairly quickly. The food is mild and not too spicy. 1 star taken off as (the guy in a navy shirt) gave us no option in saying yes when he asked about the bill. The restaurant wasn't busy and we still had 45 minutes of our reservation.

Disappointing (19th Feb 2024)! The outside and inside decor are great, that is the best part. The food was extremely disappointing, ordered the Vegetarian Tiffin, Poori and Cabbage side dish. Repeating similar comments as others, the dishes were bland, very poor taste: Potato / tomato curry tasted exactly like tinned tomatoes and potatoes. Chickpea curry had no developed flavour. Daal was watery and tasteless. Poori and rice were mediocre. Service was ok, but not deserving automatic 10% tip. Would not recommend or go back, style over substance.

This place is all show no go. It was very gimmicky with the swing chairs and tins the dishes were served in. The food was average, if not below average. The portions were tiny for the price. The yogurt chaat bombs were almost all yoghurt and could be improved with changing the ratios. The curries were lacking flavour and very one dimensional. The service was not good. The first person got our order completely wrong. The rest of the staff were run off their feet and not able to give the time to each section. The issues were partly the staff and partly the lack of numbers. I tend to give chain restaurants a miss and this is exactly why. There are so many good Indian restaurants in Glasgow. Go to Rishi’s Indian Aroma on Bath St for authentic South Indian food or Mr Singh’s for something a bit more up market. Both great choices.

Pros: - delicious food, not your usual curry house fare at all. House Curry and Chat Bombs are must-tries. - service is generally friendly and efficient - funky surroundings Cons: - portions are small and value is borderline. Near enough £5 for a single wafer thin puri is laughable - 10% service charge is added automatically to your bill. Of course you can ask to have it removed but they rely on people's unwillingness to make a fuss. Just let us tip an amount we want.

Where do I start? From the minute we set foot in the door, we were sold the Mowgli Glasgow experience. The ambience, presentation, staff friendliness and Indian street food, were all exceptional. The restaurant was warm, inviting and comfortable. The space between tables was great as was the clever partitions to give you privacy. Very clever indeed. I would go one step further, and say that this is the nicest Indian cuisine we have ever tasted. The aroma of Mowgli’s street food was simply amazing. The experience and food was that good, we bought Nisha Katona’s Street Food book the following day. What a dining experience. Needless to say, we will be back soon. I have eaten here many times however I have to say my visit yesterday was very poor and I doubt I will return. Booked a table two months ago. Waited 45 minutes for the food and 25 mins for a glass of wine. Half way through eating our main meal we were told we had 15mins left and would have to leave. We hadn’t even had the opportunity to order a dessert. The two female waitresses were rude and their facial expressions and body language were appalling. There was a young male (with dark Curley hair) who was great and managed to extend our stay by 30mins. Had service been prompt we may not have had these issues. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy.

Went to Mowgli as part of a Christmas work meal and everything about the food, service and atmosphere was great! We were a group of 21, but were accommodated easily. Zack (I hope I spelled that right!) was out main server and was fabulous throughout, and the staff were all super considerate of allergies/intolerances as well. The Christmas group menu had a lot of great variety, especially the pot luck mains which let people share everything around; and with a starter, a glass of prosecco and 3 courses it was generous for £35. Thoroughly recommend!

Always a good time in Mowgli. I will say though, that the entrance here is weird. It is super non-descript in the foyer (perhaps due to building regulations?) to the point that it looks just like a fire door, so we went back outside and round the corner to see where the actual door was. Nope, it's that. Odd. Not in keeping with other Mowglis that we've been to. As usual though, great food and fantastic staff, with amazing decor throughout. If you haven't been before, take a friend or two and share some chat bombs, tamarind fries, Himalayan cheese toast, and a chip butty. Thank me later. Also, Mowgli has separate menus for vegan and gluten-free, which is lovely.

I've been wanting to go to Mowgli for a few months and finally made it. Brilliant atmosphere, the staff were just superb, and the food is purely amazing. Wiffy and I sat in the "normal chairs." I didn't fancy the rope swing chairs, not with my age and bad knees, back hips... Don't get old kids it SUCKS.... But watching other patrons gently swaying aboot, we asked if we could switch to the jungle gym 🤪, you know what! better than my chiropractor and kinda free food if you compare the costs. Win ,Win Swing!!!!!!! We booked an early dinner 630pm and Mowgli was at least 60% full even this early in the night. The flavours were amazing and of cause we had to try the most recommended dish that everyone raves about The Yoghurt Chat Bombs, yummy yummy smashed into them so fast after the first bite and blowup I almost forgot to take a pic.....hence the UXB , Billy No mates pic. 😋. Im not a chilli hot burn the back of ya head off k8nda guy, so I stayed in the safe side of HOT 🔥. Again, the spicing was just right for me, and Wiffy went full on "put a bog roll in the fridge for later" mode. MOWGLI is now right up there with Halloumi. My GoTo eatery in Central Glasgow now has to share me, or I'll just have to stay for the weekend now 😉.

Drinks came well after the food, had the monkey wrap which was awful. More like a flour tortilla than roti with cold chicken thighs on top, and more raw spinach than anything, vile. Butter chicken was very bland. All the curries were most likely reheated as they came very quickly after ordering and weren’t hot. Roti was not freshly made and was similar to what you can buy and reheat from the supermarket. The tangled greens were literally just cabbage, zero flavour. Very over priced for the size of portions and quality of food.
