Our second visit and just as good as the first. My husband and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious set lunch. The best naan bread ever 👍

I ordered a couple of curries take away for me and my son!, I ordered a madras and my son will have the korma tommorow, truly this has to be one of the best flavoured and it’s very rare to find a curry that packs a extremely Spicy hit along side it. What a lovely meal I cannot thank you enough! Delicious, if you like spice and high quality seasoned food this place is for you, p.s try the tikka starter amazing

I live locally and have been to several Indian restaurants here. However Mowgli stands out from the rest as the best of the best. So much so that I have now been several times, and each time superb. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service is second to none. You cant ask for more. The place is clean, tidy, organised and run very well. Advise from the service staff is abundant, and they know their Indian food. I am so impressed with this restaurant that I had to take my brother-in-law and his wife (all the way from Mauritius) to eat here, to enjoy the experience. Which they did! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic food, great service. Staff friendly and efficient. Quality of food was fantastic and second to none. Have been here several times, sometimes with guests, and every experience has been as good as this one. Also, the take-away service is just as great.

Unsure if this has changed hands , I did ask but was told no. If we want a treat or have family down they allways want the Mowgli. Prices have gone through the roof. .5.95 for a pint of coke or lemonade. All the fishes are dear. The menu has completely changed and not for the better either. Everything was bland bland bland, 130 quid for 3 off us. One round of drinks, no starters just poppadoms . Never ever again will I be spending a single penny in Mowgli. I won’t miss conversing with the very odd waiter either! This used to be a fun night out with great food and a charismatic front of house. Give it a miss is what I say and a real shame.

Excellent quality food, friendly service. I am a coeliac and they have a real understanding of gluten here. So I can eat here without worry, and there are a lot of choices. Would definitely recommend.

Been before a few times, seem to be different people running it. Food ok but waiter was the most miserable person I have ever met, couldn’t understand basic English. I ordered a pint of Coke and got a pint of Cobra, when questioned he stormed off. Ran out of wine and bought out a selection of 3 others, one was chosen but when bill received the wine cost £36 as opposed to the £20 of the one we asked for. This was questioned and he stormed off in a huff again. Will not be returning again

Great Food and great service. The decor and the dishes were amazing. The flavour in the food was above and beyond. The manager came to introduce himself and the wait time was very good. I couldn’t fault this place and I highly recommend everybody tries this

A return visit to Mowgli with friends. We arrived to a warm welcome from the manager and staff. Once again the food was plentiful and delicious and a good time was had by all.

The food we had was good , but came at an unexpectedly high price as the web site prices are based on vegetable curries, meat dishes are somewhat higher and an additional 10% service charge is added to the bill, but not mentioned on the web. As stated on many other TA reviews for the Mowgli the service really lets the restaurant down ie. everything has to be asked for twice, even the bil. Should the service greatly improve, then the quality of the food might just justify the higher cost (less 10%) but until that happens I should avoid . Going to a restaurant is more than just food, it should be a good overall experience that is provided, and sadly this was not the case.

My favourite curry house. Even when compared with London, Mowgli’s is our favourite. We like a lot of spice and are never let down.

Delightful restaurant with attentive staff, great choice of dishes and a good atmosphere. The food was tasty, beautifully presented with some more unusual dishes. The service impeccable. It was good to meet the owner, too, and hear about the history of the restaurant and his newer venture in Eastbourne Harbour - the Marina. We are going there for lunch next week and we will be back to Mowgli for sure

Amazingly good visit. On a very wet Thursday evening. There were other diners in. We hadn't booked but it was no problem. Asked where we'd like to sit. Anywhere warm, we said. We had a couple of friends with us who have come to live in the UK from Belgium. The husband is especially aware of service etc. They both raved about the level of service. The waiters were attentive, cleaned the tables down between each course, checked if the food was ok. We were so impressed as the boss man wasn't even there, but the guys were still on the ball and gave an amazing experience to our visitors. Oh, and the food was as usual, faultless, tasty, flavourful, and hot. Nicely done.

Good food and great service. So attentive and the owner Syed couldn’t help us enough from choosing the right dish to our taste bud to tweaking up the heat and even mellowing some of the dishes. This tells you the freshness of the food. Not or Cooked like most restaurants now. So happy to have found this Gem. Will be my local from now on.

My wife Grandson & I visited Mowgli Restaurant Thursday evening and have a fabulous meal. The staff were welcoming, attentive & cheerful. The quality of the food was first class. I could have been blindfolded & stuck a pin in the menu and found a dish I’d like. The flavours & spices were very high standard. My only criticism was that there were no table cloths on any tables, undressed tables lower the standard. Competition such as Bay Spice in Hastings always have table cloths and has a classier feel. That said, Mowglis food is up there with them. Not cheap though.

An excellent Indian restaurant, delicious well-prepared food all of a very high quality - we all shared four dishes and although each was different we enjoyed them all. Without exception a lovely staff, friendly, appropriately attentive and thoroughly professional - we were very well looked after. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and we all felt comfortable throughout our very friendly evening. When we got the bill we all thought the evening, including drinks and again delicious desserts, we extremely good value. We shall definitely visit Mowgli, Bexhill-on-Sea again and do not hesitate in recommending this fine restaurant, particularly if you enjoy good Indian food.

We visited Mowgli for a light evening meal, having had a very nice take away from them before - however the in restaurant experience was disappointing - the staff weren't very attentive. The food was very tasty although prices seem to have increased drastically, then the experience was again diminished by having to wait a long time for the bill even though the restaurant was mostly empty. To then find they had already added a 10% service charge on the bill ( 3 people - 1 main dish 1 side each and a drink - just under £100 !) was frankly distasteful. On those grounds alone we won't be returning ...

Although we really enjoyed the food on this 2nd visit, the service was appalling the table we were seated at had not been laid, someone came over with a bunch of cutlery in his hand and let it drop on the table and spread them out, we were shocked! The management or owners were busy at their new restaurant in 'sovereign harbour we were told, as if to say sorry I don't normally do this job I'm just covering, seemed like he had no experience & thrown In the deep end.

First time here. Friendly staff, comprehensive menu but expensive in comparison to other local Indian restaurants. The food was well cooked and presented. The waiting staff were a bit too keen, continually checking out drink levels and trying to get us to reorder. As a driver I had one spirit and then ordered s mixer, I checked with the waiter that it was just a mixer which he confirmed however I was charged for a spirit with mixer. Atmosphere was ok, quite busy for a Saturday but marred by too much waiter attention. 10% service charge automatically added to the bill.

Visited on a very busy Saturday evening. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. An interesting menu with some unusual options. Both our meals were excellent. Slightly slow service as it was completely full. Price very reasonable. Very friendly and involved owner. Easily the best curry we’ve had in Bexhill. We can’t wait for you to open in Battle!

THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. BEST RESTAURANT IN SUSSEX. We all agreed that the curry we had last week was the best ever. Pathia, Ceylon and Dopiaza were better than ever. Nann breads, rice and poppadoms excellent. Motor ponir, Chana Dall, sag aloo fantastic. Excellent warm welcome and service.

Excellent food & service. A faultless experience from the moment we walked in. We visited for a meal on a Thursday night as a family and had a window seat. This meant we could appreciate the sea views. The staff were attentive & provided timely service all evening. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including sides & naan bread which were all delicious. We are definitely returning & highly recommend this restaurant.

Was a busy night. That's fine as it was a Saturday so to be expected. However, took about 25 mins to get a drink! Starter order took ages and when it arrived one of the dishes was still frozen. The service didn't improve. Had to ask the person doing the clearing up to get glasses for the water. When the mains arrived the naan was only half cooked and the food was tepid. At the end they added a service charge!!! We didn't pay it. Poor experience and won't go again.

Another great night we live very near and it is an ideal place to go with friends We were there last night ,we requested a window table which was waiting for us when we arrived , the food is freshly cooked so dont expect fast food. Poppadoms are offered on arrival to have with drinks while the food is being prepared. The food is excellent great combination of flavours, service is very good and a wide selection of wines reasonably priced ,we will be returning

Superb food, always delicious and dishes amended to individual tastes without a problem. Lovely people and an absolute delightful experience. Very highly recommended and in my opinion this is the best Indian restaurant in Bexhill.

We have been eating at the Mowgli since it opened several years ago. We know our Indian food, have tried many Indian restaurants over the last 45 years, and can honestly say that the Mowgli is among the very best we have been to, anywhere in the UK. We have continued to go to the Mowgli for takeaways throughout the lockdowns, and have been touched by the proprietors’ genuine concern for their customers’ welfare. We look forward to being able to eat in the restaurant again in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future.

A truly delicious takeaway - so many tasty dishes on offer. Excellent value for money. Easy to place orders, and delivery is reliable and convenient. By far the best Indian food in the area.

This restaurant was recommended to me as the previous takeaway I ordered from another was poor. I can fully recommend Mowgli as the takeaway they delivered was was devine. Unlike the last meal this time the chicken was really tender. I now know which place to order my future currys from!

When I was 22 years of age I was in the RAF stationed at Brize Norton, in the village next to the base was an Indian restaurant/take away. I really love a Korma (I know) and had a meal whilst there that was so wonderful I have always wanted to pop in again if I was ever in the area (I am now 50). I now live in Bexhill, I have discovered Mowgli and have started to use them whenever I fancy a Korma. I can honestly say that I no longer need to return to Brize, this place makes absolutely wonderful food. It is so good that I intend to have a sit down meal when Covid allows and i intend to have whatever they recommend (as long as it is fairly mild). In Mowgli we shall trust. Seriously give it a go. As a bonus, the owner and his wife are nice as well. Peace to you all.

Ordered a takeaway not your usual bog standard Indian restaurant or food. Defined flavours in each dish absolutely delicious. Good value for money well with a visit food for takeaway just as good as eating in restaurant.

Had a takeaway from this place tonight for the first time .... anyone who knows me would know how much I eat out .... but hand on heart ... I can say ... it’s the best curry I ever had... the portions was quite generous too ! I guess I have now found myself a regular curry house ! Try it ... you won’t regret it !

I went to Mowgli Indian Bistro restaurant on Saturday 17th october for my evening meal with my sister, I ordered Rogan Josh, special fried rice, Garlic Naan bread, mushroom baji - (I think that's what you call it) and all of the selections of sauces you can think of. My sister ordered her favourite dishes too. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy my meals :) but I was eating my sisters food as well. It was VERY yummy! Treated it like a Mezze! Considering I am a fussy eater and prefer to eat my cooking at home, this is 1 restaurant I can not go without. The food is of High quality, the flavours are on point, the meat is so tender it just melts in my mouth, it's soooo mooorish, I literally crave it (and no I'm not pregnant) but by the time I have finished eating I probably do look pregnant. Anyhow, I will always continue to come and dine here with my friends and family, as busy as they are.. the food is always so tastey, delicious, well presented, just perfect, attentive service, great atmosphere! I feel welcomed, valued and cared for. The manager and staff always go above and beyond my expectations, even though I'm such a pain to them when it comes to placing my order, I am quite indecisive with food and not sure what to try out, or shall I go for the same meal as before and yet the staff are so patient with me and yet still provide excellent customer service. My friends and family have become regulars here as well. The hygiene levels in Mowgli is spectacular too. I was telling my sister how wonderfully surprised I am that.. how do they manage to keep their toilets so clean and replenished. It shocks me! It's the only restaurant I know who pay particular attention to detail to maintain high levels of hygiene. I come here sometimes once a fortnight or once a month and I'm so happy to have a local Top Notch restaurant near me. As usually I would travel far for a decent restaurant (out of town) thank you Mowgli for looking after me as always! Compliments to the whole team. Highly recommend to all, I give it more than 10 stars and no complaints By the way if you are indecisive like me, don't feel shy to ask the manager for his recommendations, as he will accommodate to your needs! The food has always tasted good, but the hygiene rating is totally unacceptable! Won’t be using again ......

Great food. The house specials are where it's at. You've got all the usual jalfrezi and bhuna, but the specials are gold. No buckets of oil slick, each dish is an individual item. The service is good, the staff are friendly, and it's a nice location.

Good service her, and great food. Covid secure. Try the Juliet Duck - it’s not as hot as you may think but very tasty!

Was seated quickly to a table around the corner in the side part of restaurant. We waited 15 minutes and was on the verge of leaving when the waitress remembered we were there. Had our drinks order taken which was wrong on arrival but rectified swiftly. We then waited again for a period of time for our food order to be taken. It was an hour before our food arrived. The food was delicious and different to the usual dishes that are normally on offer elsewhere. As the restaurant filled up it became very uncomfortable, hot and stuffy. There were no windows for ventilation but a small plug in fan was put on eventually. We wasn’t asked for a name and phone number at all in case of track and trace like all other establishments we have been too. Would recommend the food but didn’t feel the service was very welcoming.

Lovely restaurant, went for a family meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was lovely, all came out quickly. stuck well to the COVID 19 guidelines, staff very friendly and attentive! Well worth a visit!

I love this place. The staff were absolutely amazing..so attentive and helpful. The food is authentic and tasty and they will adjust to personal preference....great service. I should of left many reviews but I'm always too chilled and happy when I get home (and wavy) but I'm making an effort to give credit where it's due. Highly recommend .

Previously we have always experienced excellent service and food from this restaurant. However, we recently had to cancel a reservation with only half an hour’s notice due to unforeseen personal circumstances. I understand the frustration at this for restaurants but the member of staff that a answered was extremely rude saying ‘ why didn’t you call earlier’. We called as soon as we knew we were unable to go when some people may simply just not have turned up. Their manner was so rude that it had put us off visiting again. Surely, a simple thank you for letting us know would have been more professional?

We went on the Wednesday night Help out to dine out scheme. It was super busy but well worth going. I tried starters and mains I have not eaten before and did not regret not staying safe. The food was plentiful, delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommend.

We booked on the spur of the moment and were lucky enough to get a table. Customer flow was well managed and the tables were well spaced. Combined with the hand sanitiser at the door and good level of cleanliness we felt well provided for and safe. Windows and doors were left open so there was some welcome ventilation. The service and the quality of the food were excellent. I highly recommend Mowgli. The food was all delicious and I’ll definitely be back.

Spur of the moment decision to pop in for a curry after a lovely time on the beach, well rewarded with excellent food, service and extreme value for money (thanks to the pandemic discount!). Covid issues being very scrupulously managed, good distance between tables and so on - reassuring to see. The food is always good, light and full of flavour. Never disappointed yet.

reservation made for 8.30pm for four. Greeted on arrival, drinks and poppadoms quickly delivered. Order taken for what we wanted to order and around 40 minutes later, food brought. Lamb bhuna for two of us, chicken korma and one of the fish special dishes, plus cheese naan, crispy potatoes as a side and 2 portions of pilau rice. Full bellys later. Very happy and likely to go back in future. They coped very well with covid19 restrictions and how busy they were for a Tuesday evening.

Went to this curry house and all I can say is WOW ! I had an amazing Chicken Tikka Naga, which was absolutely perfect lovely big chunks of tender chicken and full of flavour with a good kick of heat too. Popadoms and chutneys were all fresh and very crispy. Love this modern tastefully decorated Indian restaurant right on the seafront. Go in August on a Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday to get 50% off up to £10, but make sure you book ! Having tried the rest this is certainly the best slightly better than little India but both are very good.

What another great find on a small holiday in Bexhill-On-Sea, Sussex. I’d highly recommend the Bangla Fish Bhuna and Chicken Pathea. The whole meal was perfection. Service impeccable too! It was also reassuring that all safety measures re: COVID-19 were discreet making it a memorable meal by the sea. Well done to the entire team!

Ordered a take-away for twelve persons . Order taken simply and we collected without any problems. All piping hot and tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Recommended.

Although it is pricy, the standard of food is good. One word of warning: it's noisy and the takeaway business is vibrant so there's a lot of coming and going. Any chance of enjoying a romantic evening is compromised by the owner constantly barking orders at the staff and directing them to specific tables etc.It is one of the only Asian restaurants open to diners at present.No complaints about the food and toilets are super clean.

Warm welcome, good service, delicious food - and all that whilst adhering to the new post lockdown stipulations. We have been a number of times and have never been disappointed by the food.

Visited Mowgli again this evening (25 July 2020) for a “set meal for two” take away. Wide choice of dishes to choose from, ready when they said it would be, AND, most importantly, fab - u - lous flavours. Thank you.

Another great curry at the Mowgli - slightly strange that we were sitting in the restaurant all alone but the family garlic naan made up for it. Well worth a try.

It's so great to be back at Mowgli! The food is delicious, the staff are welcoming and friendly and their hygiene arrangements for Covid 19 are excellent.

Been going to Mowgli regularly for a number of years and it never fails to impress. The food is absolutely delicious- from the buttery nans to the super spicy naga. The staff are excellent and attentive and Said always gives us a warm welcome. We’ve taken loads of friends there too as we just know the food will be divine and everyone who’s been with us raves about it too. I can quite honestly say it’s the best Indian I have ever been to.

Was lovely to return to the actual restaurant after lockdown. The manger is incredibly friendly and I can never get enough of the Lamb Bhuna! I can feel a little nervous going out to eat because of the virus, but, although there was clearly lots of takeaway trade, we were the only customers on the premises. There was plenty of sanitiser around the place and the staff were really accommodating. I've never had a meal arrive so quickly either. Took less than 20 minutes between ordering and eating. One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to.

Ordered a take away this evening for collection at the restaurant. Food was excellent as usual. The owner and his team have recently completed Covid training and it was great to see that they have implemented Covid measures, when I arrived we were asked to wait by a table by the door, there was sanitiser gel available on the table. The food was placed on the table and payment contactless. We have always found the owner and his team friendly and welcoming and the owner takes time to check we are happy with our food and will make suggestions for our meals. We recommend them to all our friends and families.

We have had takeaway from Mowgli's for sometime, and we have always found the food to be good. The manager, however, has always verged on the rude, always wants you in and out as quickly as possible, only showing any attention when it's time to pay! Charisma and customer service - nil. We put up with it as we are only in the restaurant to collect the food, but because of the manager we would never eat in.We have just had out first takeaway since lockdown, and Mowgli's has recently reopened and I was shocked at the lack of social distancing and virus control being implimented. On arrival there was a table outside, so I expected to wait there and someone would come out and serve me. When no one arrived I read the 4/5 notices in the window to understand that to collect my food I had to go in the shop, but this was one person at a time. I could see several people milling around inside so I waited. And waited. The people inside did not seem to be leaving so I finally went in only to find all 4/5 people were staff! None of the staff were wearing face coverings or gloves. As usual the manager had no customer service niceties, and only communicated to take the money. I was hands the bags of food and was handed the card machine to put in my pin number and was then handed my card back. There was NO attempt to maintain 2m distancing and NO sanitiser gel was offered to me - I looked around for some, but there wasn't any to be seen. If that is an example of their virus control policy, then I have doubts about the protection our food had in the kitchen! I am not overly anxious about the virus, but do take reasonable precautions, and expect the same from someone preparing my food and serving me. I shall not be returning during the Codid-19 era, but would recommend that Rother Environmental Health do!During lockdown we have had a takaway on several occasions from Rocksalt and their Covid-19 control procedures are excellent and gives you complete confidence that they are taking virus control seriously. Mowgli's should take note!

Tonight we had a take out from Mowgli. We decided on the set meal for 2 and were blown away by the quality and value. A starter, main, side, rice and naan each for 2 people was an absolute feast, all for £29.95. It was all cooked to perfection and picked up within 20 minutes. We'll definitely be back for more. We are really glad to see that Mowgli is still going strong despite all that has been going on lately. The staff are always welcoming and very happy to talk, which is much appreciated. We have had a number of dishes from the menu at Mowgli and we have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic!! Before Covid 19, we enjoyed eating in at the restaurant, there was always a good atmosphere. During Covid, it has been collection for us and it has worked very well. Thank you for your continued great food! Keep safe!

Mowgli has been our regular lockdown treat, continuing our pre-lockdown habits. The staff members are helpful, friendly, and the delivery service is fantastic. It is wonderful to know that even though we can’t go to the mountain, the mountain can come to us*The food is incredible, and we absolutely recommend this restaurant. Can’t wait till we can sit at its tables once again, with friends! But if we have to go without friends, and maintain our distance, we will STILL want to frequent this marvellous restaurant. We had a delicious takeaway from this restaurant this evening, we had the set meal for two, great food and great value. We will most definitely be returning.

We ordered our first take away since we’ve been in lockdown . The lady who took our order was so helpful . The food was delivered in the time she stated . It was piping hot . I can recommend this restaurant enough , the food was absolutely delicious, the nicest curry we’ve had in a long time . This will definitely be our permanent take away menu from now on . We’ve also eaten in the restaurant and found the staff and atmosphere friendly and welcoming. It’s a must to try if you like your curries

Always amazing food and atmosphere. Such a great find in sleepy Bexhill-On-Sea! Had a take away tonight due to current situation. Thrilled they’ve re opened during these testing times. Once again, fabulous food!

Had a takeaway tonight on the night of the big switch off (March 20th). Absolutely fabulous, we all loved it and ate the lot. hope they are able to continue with takeaways throughout this time and open for proper business as soon as they are able.

My husband and I had neglected to book a restaurant for the evening. Saturday night 8n Bexhill is busy! It was early 7ish and I suggested the Mowgli. They happily found us a table and I thrilled that they did. The food is exceptional! I am Anglo Indian and know good fresh ingredients and authentic flavours when I have them. This place was fantastic. The restaurant is clean and well managed. Highly recommend and will be returning ASAP.

We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed - their fish curries are amazing. Make sure you try their family naan.

Visited here for the first time this month. Mixed reviews from previous diners , but we found the food and service were both fine. Prawn with Puri starters with just the right hint of spice. A vegetable byriani for my wife & I sampled the Lamb Kerahi. Both very full servings, and extremely tasty. A naan , some rice & Sag Aloo, proved a tad too much in total, so make sure you arrive feeling hungry.

Have ordered a take away several times from Mowgli and can not fault, tonight we took a friend in for a sit down meal and was dissapointed on several levels

Absolutely delicious food and restaurant lovely and clean. Staff are friendly and welcoming this is my favourite restaurant.

Had a fantastic meal here last night. Chicken dhansak was cooked to perfection, peshwari naan was wonderful - really buttery. Price a little higher than my usual Indian, but worth the few extra pounds per dish.

Been here a few times, rarely let down. Went with friends on a Saturday and had the best Asian food ever. Have also had a take away midweek which could have been better (hence 4 stars). Will continue to use this place. I highly recommend the Prawn Puree (starter).

We order from here often. Food always really good. We particularly like there lamb dishes. Good portions.

First time and won’t be our last. If you want an Indian meal and are in Bexhill try this place. Everyone was friendly, meals were really tasty and seemed so much fresher than other Indian restaurants we have eaten in.

Celebrating my wife’s 50th. She asked for a vegetarian dish that was spicy. A visually stunning meal arrived, that tasted every bit as good as it looked. She highly recommends the “Paneer Special”. Staff were very efficient, so we were quite quick which is what we needed as we were going to see a concert.

We are all deaf and use sign language. We felt the staff were very helpful and at ease with communication via lipreading and gestures. The food was excellent and nice atmosphere, relaxing and clean.

Good friendly service Starters are good. Very large portions. Main course was well presented and tasted fab. We didn’t have sweet as we were too full.

We were looking for some where to have a evening out, not familiar with Curry House's in ~Bexhill and like many dubious about first times. But what a meal and the people were so pleasant totally enjoyed. Reasonable price, not cheap but right side of expensive. Strangely we were in Currys Bexhill buying a tablet and they recommended which with hind-sight is quite odd and potentially risky.

I'm super impressed with the breakfast I had in Mowgli Brunch, I had an English breakfast with a twist with a cup of tea and a coconut & green tea. The baked beans was full flavour, halal sausages and rashens are succulent and meaty as well as. Eggs were great! The breakfast as a whole was not only filling but it was really tastey, cooked to perfection and simply just delicious! I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm not usually that fond of green tea but I enjoyed this particular coconut and green tea, I would definitely have that again.

Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal here on a buzzing Saturday night. Atmosphere and food were both great. It was our first visit and definitely won't be our last 😊. Would thoroughly recommend.

We chanced our arm trying to get a table on a packed Saturday night without a reservation and it paid off. We waited a very short while for them to prepare a table. The food drink and service was excellent. We will visit again very soon.
