Mowbrays in North Lincolnshire

It was totally disgustingly I would not recommend going there i went with my friends and I got a milkshake and it was disgusting my friends got food and the bacon didn't even look cooked it was sh1t!!! Would not recommend it to anyone !!!

I have had the pleasure of dining at mowbrays numerous times and I am never disappointed! The standard of food and portion sizes are perfect! Always clean and a lovely atmosphere! Always my first suggestion when making plans to dine out with family and friends.

We visited Mowbrays for lunch as part of my parents diamond wedding celebrations. It was absolutely fantastic. The food was gorgeous and the service was excellent. We had the most lovely lunch. The staff couldn’t have done any more did us and the really made it special. If you want a lovely lunch followed by a beautiful cake visit Mowbrays. You won’t be disappointed please support this local cafe

Lovely to visit whilst walking the Trent Valley Way, their first day after covid shutdown, a lovely warm welcome, delicious sandwiches, and fantastic Victoria Sponge, 😀👌👏👍🍰🧁☕️

Dine in experience was really great. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was great. They opened eat in specially for us and went out of their way to be helpful.

You definitely have the Wow factor Gorgeous cakes and generous discount provided by Mowbrays for the hard working front line Social Care staff at Scunthorpe General Hospital this week. The team thoroughly enjoyed their treats and gave you 5 stars ⭐️ Comments included “that was the best Bakewell tart I’ve ever tasted”, “the sausage rolls were delicious” and “the chocolate cake was to die for!” Thank you so much You brought a little ray of sunshine into our office I’ll definitely be reordering again soon! ❤️ Highly recommended!!

We have heard about the place so decided to give it a try. We drove past it as it’s set back from the road, literally blink and you’ve missed it.Have to say a lot smaller than I thought. However let’s talk about the food. We’re all the same we look at what comes out to other tables.Didn’t see one meal. We decided to go for the soup with a sandwich. My wife had the Mediterranean veg snd I had the leek and potato. Both were clearly home made and couldn’t fault in any way. Now the sandwich . Very often when they say sandwich it’s half a sandwich normally quite basic. This was not the case, a full bread roll and really well presented and tasty. I would have given a 5 as my wife asked for brown bread and got white, and didn’t have the heart to say anything.If you don’t want a coffee, you can have an alcoholic drink.If you’ve not been, give it a go, we will go back

First visit since being under new ownership. Really impressed with the food. The pie had the most meat in it than I have ever had. Generous portions. Pleasant welcoming staff. Will certainly return.

I believe Mowbrays has had a recent management change, unfortunately not a great one.... my son brought a “large”bacon and mushroom sandwich home .... 2 tiny rashers of bacon and 11 of the thinnest sliced mushrooms I’ve ever seen , dread to think what a small one would have contained ..... on a plus note the bread was beautifully soft and the bids really enjoyed the half with no filling..... not value for money......won’t use again which is a shame as I love haxey and try to support local businesses

Stopped here for some lunch on route to a meeting. Staff were super friendly and food and drinks really nice. This is a hidden gem and look forward to visiting again.

Have been intending to visit for a while after receiving reports of some of the best coffee in the world. This is a nicely laid out tea room with a relaxing ambience. Down to the nitty gritty. The coffee is first class and probably the best cappuccino I have had in a long time. Standby as the news gets better. There was one lonely piece of carrot left on the counter and I decided to help out. Now as much as I'm quite an athletic healthy-eater promoter, I'm not going to lie, I've tried a few pieces of cake in my time. This was the BEST carrot cake ever, astonishingly moist with lovely velvet icing. We will be returning! Thank you.

I am a picky seventy five year old man. My friend and I regularly have coffee (best in 50 mile radius) and/or breakfast/lunch. Nothing is too much trouble, the owner will cook specials on 48 hours notice and make home made chips/mash.The food items are all high class deli quality and the staff always have a ready genuine smile.

We have started to call in here once a week for a coffee while out walking with the dog but have also had breakfast a couple of times. The food is great and the staff are friendly. It’s pet friendly too.

Everything was fine. Pleasant staff, okay food anf service. Better than I expected. Mind, you, it's hard to mess up with tinned tuna

This was our first visit to Mowbrays Cafe, a small business, tucked away in Haxey. We had Moroccan food, which was excellent. Tasty, hot, well proportioned and with attentive service. Mowbrays was extremely clean and the food home cooked. We had 3 courses and were very pleased with every one. Excellent coffee too! Mowbrays is well worth a visit if you are in the area and we found are meal to be very good value. They are licensed and we would definitely go back.

Went here for tea the food was to die for very tasty. Red pepper lemon and coriander houmous with flat breads then lamb tagine with cous cous this was very rich and juicy flavours. Pudding was my favourite Rice pudding with rose water pistachios and pomegranate absolutely gorgeous. Me and my friend will be going again. Compliments to the cook.

We are frequent visitors to Mowbrays and always enjoy the food. We were therefore happy to choose Mowbrays to host a special birthday party for us. We made a good choice. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The savoury buffet was excellent and the home-made desserts were delicious. Lisa and Ben and staff did a great job for us. We shall keep returning.

This little gem is fantastic, lovely food, and friemdly helpful staff. Its not very big and it does get busy but thats a good sign amd they keep it very clean once someone has left. They do takeaway which we have used before and is great.

Friendly staff, amazing food and an NHS staff discount to boot. I’m going to be working in the Isle of Axholme for the next few months and will most definitely be back to Mowbrays - this place does some seriously good food! Such an asset to Haxey and an absolutely star find. Well done, and keep it up guys.

Realised late Sunday night that we hadnt arranged any food for our visitors into our office on Monday . Desperate SOS message via Facebook to Mowrays for help! Totally no problem! From the outset they had this covered & we ararnged delivery into our office on Robin Hood Airport for 12pm. Totally left the food in their capable hands . Wow! The food was delivered on time with a smile by Ben. The quality of the food & the attention to detail was fantastic ! The team served a huge selection of very tasty wraps with various fillings, fresh potato salad , coleslaw & the most amazing selection of freshly baked cakes . We will definitely use Mowrays cafe again for our office business lunches & totally recommend these guys :)

Been to Mobrays a number of times and I can truly say it's a really good experience. The food is freshly cooked,with a good variety to choose from and scrumptious homemade cakes..The coffee certainly deserves a mention as its as good as I have had anywhere,in fact probably the best!! The staff are all pleasant and helpful,nothing too much trouble !!

Visited Mowbrays today and I have to say it is one of the best afternoon teas I have ever had, I came here today with the family and the food and service was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble.

Met a friend here for a catch up and bite to eat. I had the tuna panini my friend had the tuna salad. We were both impressed with the quality of food, lovely and fresh and the salad dressings were delicious. Will definitely return. The cakes looked amazing too

Excellent food, always sourcing new brands. Customer focused and very friendly and welcoming. Just been refurbished and looks fab.

Our group of three regular walkers generally go somewhere different every week and consequently rarely visit the same pub/cafe more than once on our lunch stops. The fact that we have now visited this 'hidden gem' three times tells its own story! Excellent food from a varied menu, good strong coffee, friendly, helpful staff and reasonable prices. I recommend the Lincolnshire sausage panini. I am already planning another walk in the area so that we can call again.

Until recently our weekly walks used to be planned around a pub lunch. THat is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve as fewer and fewer pubs remain, and many that do either don't open at lunchtime, or serve food at lunchtime.

Esta fue mi segunda visita para almorzar con mi esposa. Aunque el café es pequeña no sentirse agobiado y la acogida es amable. Está claro que todo el mundo recuerda lo que el propietario ha pedido y lo que les gusta.

We stopped at Mowbary's for lunch on Saturday and we were not disappointed. We went in with our two children and were greeted by the friendly new owners. We loved the new décor of the café with the opportunity to buy high quality products which are used on the food. We ordered two children's toasties and two paninis which came with a lovely side salad and homemade coleslaw. The food was made to order and very fresh. We all really enjoyed out meal and will be visiting again shortly. The new owners are doing a brilliant job since taking over in December 2016.

We went in this cafe at 1245pm. We ordered 4 panini and 1 child panini. Our drinks were brought but the food had still not arrived by 1330. Our child was very hungry and then a table was served with 3 breakfasts. This table was vacant when we arrived. So why were our meals not served first ? We got no apology only the owner telling us they were busy and had telephone takeaways to do first. They have only 6 tables in this cafe and they seem to think that nearly an hour is ok for you to be served. The woman who was preparing the food had uncontrolled hair falling about her shoulders. This should be tied up surely. We will certainly never visit this place again. We paid for our drinks and left.

I go in here a lot but I've noticed over recent visits that some of the staff are not very welcoming which is very disappointing. A couple of my friends I visit with have commented the same too

Visited with some friends on a Saturday afternoon we had tuna melt paninis (very good) chicken sandwich (lovely) and two cheese sandwiches for the kids (demolished). Nice selection of buns, cakes and flapjack type stuff. Coffees and teas are good also. It's all local food and prepared well. Small ish place very nicely decorated and service was great. We'll be back.
