We haven't eaten in this restaurant for just over a year. The menu is better than ever, service just as excellent & friendly, & the food is still super tasty. We've never had a mediocre meal in this restaurant. Ir's always excellent. If it's still on the menu, try the lobster with chips & shrimps. If you order this don't be shy about getting your hands stuck in. My plate was returned to the kitchen with just a little pile of well licked lobster shells, picked clean of delicious meat.

Food was outstanding, I had monkfish, friend had sea bass, mussels to start. Sticky toffee to finish (delicious). We were sitting outside which was well covered & you have your own individual heater if you need it, we didn’t. I always wanted to try here, daughter bought me a voucher for Christmas which was a great idea. It’s the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time really beautiful. Staff were also really lovely & friendly. Couldn’t do enough & always smiling. Lovely buzz around this restaurant area again, great to see. We will be back 😀

The food was absolutely exceptional, we both had the crab claw starter and it was completely perfect. The tomato sauce has a lovely bit of heat to it and the crab meat was delicate and tasty. I had the sea bass, which had perfect crispy skin and beautiful flavour. My boyfriend has the mussels which were full of flavour in a delightful creamy sauce. We both had fries (mine garlic and his truffle and Parmesan). Both absolutely amazing - but probably overkill, the portions are a good size! As an aside - the espresso martini was very decent!

We’d booked a table for 4 for Saturday night. We had to go at 6.15 as they were “fully booked.” At no time were all the tables in use, in fact the place was about a third empty. That aside, the starters arrived promptly, but it was another hour and 5 mins until the mains arrived. I can only describe the food as average at best so for all the rave reviews I’ve read I’ve got to add a “pinch of salt”. Would we go back or recommend.. NOT in a million years. There’s too many good restaurants nearby to waste an evening there.

Our hotel told us this place was one of the best ranked seafood places in Ireland. No doubt, the food was good quality, lots of choice on the menu, the service was prompt and we never felt rushed. You will need reservations on the weekend. It is expensive, so if you are just having fish and chips maybe try a pub instead.

It's very difficult to secure a booking here, as the restaurant is rather small. If you're traveling, ask your concierge to assist. If you are successful in getting in, you will find the freshest seafood on the planet here. I think the chef takes in what he needs for the day, and that's what's on the menu that evening. 4 of the restaurants we ate at in Northern Ireland had incredibly fresh fish. The seafood chowder at the Mourne was simply the best. Loaded with seafood in a delicious broth. We also had the linguine with seafood that was very good. The service was also very friendly and efficient. Northern Ireland has truly come into its own as a destination for fine cuisine. We were very impressed with the meals we had there, and the Mourne was at the top of the list!

Tuve abadejo y patatas fritas que era normal, los guisantes tenía una combinación que me gustaba y el bateador era la media de masa, en general probarlo de nuevo, pero cabe esperar menos tiempo al lado y luego quizás podía tan decepcionado

I visited here yesterday after trying out the restaurant 3 years ago and being extremely impressed with all of the dishes. I was not disappointed. The menu was varied and felt exclusive. I had the salt and chilli squid and the seafood chowder with thai fish burger for main and was in food heaven. The presentation, quality of the seafood and the depth of flavour was just divine!! I loved the condiments that came with the squid and the chowder was rich and full of seafood. It felt comforting with a mixture of fish in every spoonful. I would absolutely visit here again and recommend it to anyone who loves seafood visiting Belfast city. The prices were very good and the portion sizes generous with a lively ambiance in the restaurant itself.

I have heard so much about this restaurant so I thought it was the ideal place to book to celebrate our first anniversary. We couldn't have picked a worse night weather wise and it was great to get into the nice warm atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and it wasn't long before we were enjoying a nice bottle of sauvignon whilst browsing the menu. My partner isn't overly fussed on fish but settled for fish and chips and I chose the seafood casserole. Both dishes were very tasty, i was more than ready for the tasty big chunks of fish and crab and the meal was made more hearty with potato chunks too. We both went for rhubarb crumble, at last a restaurant that knows how to cook the top properly, divine and even though the waiter warned me it was a hefty portion, i still did it justice. This restaurant deserves all the great reviews it gets and I am so glad we booked well in advance.

After getting off of our tour bus, we were looking for a place to have lunch. This restaurant was recommended by a person working at our Dublin hotel. She was a native of Belfast who had recently moved to Dublin. We decided to give it a try. It is back off on a little road not far from lots of shops. The food was expertly made and nicely presented. I had a scallop and pasta special and my husband had their seafood casserole. A woman at another called out to her waiter that the mussels she had were the best mussels she had ever eaten! They have a wide variety of wines and spirits. Their beer selection was limited to 3-4 on tap, which is unusual in Ireland. After two weeks touring around Ireland, we were ready for a nice glass of wine. To top off a delicious lunch, we ordered an Irish Coffee and one of their homemade desserts. So glad we chose this place for lunch.

There was both a main and specials menu. Like a previous reviewer I could have picked almost anything on the menu. Starters were delicious and good portions. We had fish cakes, squid and langoustines. No breads to accompany but salads were crispy and colourful. Mains included cod - a huge chunk, cooked to perfection, it fell apart on the fork, hake- the plate was cleaned, and the steak which my friend raved about all night. Only two had desserts- crumble and panacotta which were both reported as really lovely. Our waiter was helpful, friendly, prompt and we had a lovely experience. One of the best places to eat in Belfast! You must make a reservation well in advance for dinner (none for lunch, just wait). Great and fresh, I always bring visiting friends here. Great value for money and a really good food as well as a list of specials and good standards as well... best homemade tartar sauce ever!

Several people had recommended Mourne Seafood Bar so we ate there last night. You wouldn't just stumble across it, but it is well worth seeking out. There is a huge selection of fish dishes, with specials and staples. There's also a good selection of wines and pleasant service. I had mackerel ceviche followed by monkfish with saffron mash, langoustine sauce and samphire, finishing with vanilla pannacotta. All beautiful. Daughter had scallop linguine (which was actually spaghetti but that was fine!) and husband had hake. We were all well-satisfied!

It's very nice like the Belfast one. Went to it for my birthday and my friend who reserved a table told them it was my birthday I ordered soup and the chefs put a purée on my plate saying happy birthday.

We always try to take from the specials on the board - fresh and good value. Food simply cooked more dependent on quality and taste, wine delicious, atmosphere good, service just ok with staff ignoring out attempts to attract them for a drink with one of us having to go to the bar where we still had difficulty getting a drink. Still would recommend this casual restaurant for food, wine, value for money and convenience if you're in Belfast city centre for lunch-time shopping.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the food tonight, didn't live up to its recommendations. 2 of the meals were cold & the hake was tasteless. Salt & chilli squid starter definitely frozen - not fresh. Would not rush back. Very disappointing not night out.

We live in Lisburn and only come to Belfast to visit this fantastic Restaurant. The staff are very professional and well versed in all the dishes on offer. As always the food was beyond comparison, absolutely out of this world. A visit to this Restaurant is always a unique experience that we try to repeat every month. We have been coming here since 2006,and will continue to do so.

This restaurant was busy and noisy just what you want for a restaurant. We went with 8 friends and had a fabulous meal. Attentive, friendly staff. Really recommend the mussels and the homemade fish fingers...GREAT

Visited here for my husbands 'special' birthday dinner, expecting something great......we were not disappointed. It is quite a small place, and as advised, it's best to book, I think it was fully booked that night. The staff are very helpful and informative, food is excellent and reasonably priced. A great night was had by both of us, would definitely visit again.

This out of the way restaurant is weel worth the trouble finding. The menu is devoted wholly to seafood which is cooked fresh on the premises. The seafood chowder served with wheaten bread and butter is super, some of the best chowder I have ever tasted. The staff are pleasant and attentive. As the restaurant is small it would seem advisable to book in advance. it opens for lunch from12noon and serves food throughout the evening. The prices are very competitive. This is a hidden treasure.

Food was nice but I had heard great things about this place. Nothing actually wrong I just thought it was average. Guess it may be unfair of me as I am not a big fan of sea food.

Great food but after seeing their treatment of staff will be boycotting and telling all my international friends never return! I have brought many nationalities for food but never again plus one is a travel food critic! Treating staff is priority one!

What's to say? Shrimp po-boy was class. Fresh roll, rich prawns, spicy, sauce, crunchy pickles and lettuce. Owner was great craic too. Would happily go back

Food was sublime, music was perfect, but the service was the best thing about The Mourne Seafood Bar. Thank you for lovely meal and welcome!

The chips here used to be of excellent quality until very recently whereas on the last few occasions we've ordered chips from here, they've been seriously undercooked the point they were inedible and were only fit for the bin. I hope this isn't treated as a complaint but I feel this needs brought to your attention.
