I was here with my partner and 11 month old for a pit-stop on the way to family for Christmas. After spending 150 quid on food and fuel we tried to leave but a traffic jam had formed all the way from the main road right into the car park so after sitting in stationary traffic in the carpark we decided to wait it out back in the services. The traffic eventually cleared and we left exactly 2 hours and 34 mins after arriving. I know this because when we got home after Christmas a parking charge was waiting for me issued because I didn't pay for my 34 minutes over the free two hours. Never mind that I spent 150 quid there, never mind that I'm a regular visitor, and never mind that I was physically unable to leave the site which constitutes a frustration of contract. I appealed under mitigating circumstances, it was rejected. I appealed to the adjudicator POPLA, it was rejected. I brought the to the attention of moto services director Ken McMeikan to let him know his customers were being ripped off by predatory parking frim CP Plus aka Group Nexus and was told it was nothing to do with them. I'm appealed at the way they've handled this.

I visited this service station as was passing thru and was hungry, stopped and see there was a kfc The service was great, but the young lady on the till. This was on Saturday, it was very busy and only had 2/3 staff members on from what I could see off anyway. There was a young lady called Louise or something she was very helpful. She was going from the back bit to the front to help the young lady. I thought she was very hands on and you can see she cares for her staff as she was willing to do anything and help her staff. Big praise to her for handing the difficult situation when busy.

Visited KFC and have never had such a slow service in all of the hot food facilities that I have ever visited. One member of staff was just standing there, doing nothing whilst chewing some gum in a food preparation area. Poor guy on the till looked completely overwhelmed with all of the customers and no support from the member of staff standing next to him. Help only arrived after we had complained about the food sitting on the racks getting cold. Car park needs resurfacing and clearer signs.

Wow, by far the worst services I've ever been to. Only stopped to use the toilets and then spent half an hour to get out of the place , absolutely chaotic !! Avoid if you can.

Out dated, tired. Broken glass all over the parking spaces. The slowest Costa ever and there was only 3 people in the queue. Toilets downstairs. No dogs allowed inside which means if you alone and travelling with a dog no choice but leave them in the car. Outside drinking bowls for dogs empty. No green space at all. No paths through car park either.

Every Saturday and Sunday Gregg's is open at 6:30 not 6:00. Are not respecting the time on site. Thanks

Do not stay at the so called 'hotel'. Used to be Travelodge I think but obviously should now be closed down. Not cheap at £70 per night but I would value at £25. This is absolutely terrible. Arrived at 9.30PM for a pre-booked and PAID room which wasn't ready. Guy on reception changed sheets and threw old ones outside the door. The room wasn't cleaned, the carpets disgusting all through corridor and room. Another couple before us had similar problem and told us they were waiting for one hour and as we walked in told us to run!

Stopped to use Gridserve car charging which is excellent. Went into Moto services for a drink while waiting and was shocked at how dirty the public areas are, with worn furniture and smelly loos. What a letdown, compared with Clacket Lane, which is excellent.

I am a Coach Driver and couldn't get into the Coach Parking Area due to being full beyond capacity with Lorries. Lorries was also parked in the Car park and in the Fuel Station aswell as access roads. Litter, old food and rat's was everywhere and the Service area and toilets was in a bad state. I will never stop there again especially with Passengers. I would advise anyone else to do the same.

The car park was covered in litter and appeared totally uncared for. A shocking first impression on arriving. The services felt tired, shabby and dirty. The toilets were unpleasant and the choice of food outlets very limited both in choice and food. Possibly the worst services I have ever stopped at in Britain, and the benchmark isn't high. Never will we visit again, Dingy, unloved, utterly dispiriting, take my advice and keep going.

The whole service area is getting worse than better. Entrance automatic doors but exit ones are manual. Best to go the wrong way if you want to. The offering here has reduced. Burger King limited range, Greggs low in front fridge. Costa unable to sell sandwiches as the fridge is broken, I don’t think they have another one. Also no pride it seems in the cake area. The outside seating next to Costa, paint coming off barrier. Their own branded restaurant is closed permanently and you can see clearly where it is. The corridor down to the disabled facilities is not as nice as it could be. Disabled facilities in desperate need of a refurbishment. The car park did also have some loose rubbish. The only thing I think they have done in years is new ramps and steps outside. Not even sure if hotel is still open.

Stopped off for a loo break, coffee and a stretch of the legs on Sunday at 11.30 am. Everywhere was either dirty, grubby or falling to pieces. Staff where slow and uninterested and had no idea of what customer service means. The building looks like it is falling apart. The toilets are in the basement and smell. Outside, the rubbish bins were overflowing, the ground full of cigarette ends. The windows were filthy and the paintwork was flaking. The white lines marking the parking spaces were faded or absent and the road signs were in a similar state. This place is an embarrassment and could be one of the first service stations a foreign tourist will have visited in the U.K.

Nothing open at 9.15PM. Greggs closed burger King closed. Complete waste of time stopping. Drive on by.

Has to be the worst service station in U.K., even by Moto standards. Essentially a truck stop now, with HGVs all over the place. The smell of the toilets hits you as you enter the doors, and the only hot meal facility is Burger King, which does its usual trade in making fat people fatter. Move on quickly - ideally, don’t stop at all.

Depends what you like but Greggs is massively cheaper for a coffee and cinnamon bun than costa right next door! A small but friendly service station !!

Expensive as expected, fortunately Thurrock retailpark is so close with eateries and a Tesco supermarket and cafe etc... Fuel much cheaper at Tesco or if travelling to Kent at Asda, Greenhithe.

Awful coffee.... The “Barista” serving us had a “Maestro Barista” apron on, which could not have been further from the truth. Brown liquid for £2.50.
