As all motorway services seem to be... expensive for food, drinks, fuel, everything. Meals aren't up to much either. Only ever stop here to use the toilet.

Went to greggs for a quick bite. Good service

Burger king food was cold and seriously do you call that bacon disgusting 🤢

Called in for a pee nothing special

Only good for parking up for 10 minutes

Always good service, and choose this and the opposite side for stop offs.

Arrived around 3;00 pm and wanted a Burger King meal paying by HGV voucher. Stood at the counter for a good 7-8 minutes and no one acknowledged my presence. One girl serving and one cooking. I decided to wait until the remaining three orders were filled. A guy turned up behind the counter and again showed no interest. Got straight on to his mobile. Waited another 2-3 minutes and still no interest. I finally said to them sorry but your service is terrible and too slow and I’ll have a KFC which I did and very good it was too! Never again.

I was pulling in to use the toilets, there only 5 enclosed toilets in the men’s and one was missing a door.

Everything good. But the BP refuelling station where I fueled my car had faulty nozzel, and spilled some diesel. As it didn't stop dispensing even after fuel was upto the nozzel.

Good services,large petrol station, food court,toilets/showers, plenty of seating inside and outside.

Decent enough services. 12 Tesla superchargers that are quick! I was the only one charging but added 80 miles in about 8 minutes!

Westbound is nicer out of the two so marked down for that. Could do with a little makeover

Appalling service at Burger King one lad serving at front alone while others standing around in the back giggling, then got half a bag of fries and milk for the tea was warmer than the tea. This site really lets Moto services down, gaffer tape on the floor holding tiles together and needs a good deep clean throughout.

Typical service station with the feel of the 90s.

Great place to stop for a break

The closest service station to where I live - not much to say other than the distance between the front entrance and the public toilets feels longer and longer everytime I visit. It’s like if the Weatherspoons toilet adventure was set in a bungalow.

Not too shabby for a service, everything you need and clean facilities. Looks a bit run down in places though

Average services. Good to see some Tesla superchargers, but only two Gridserve chargers for other EVs.

It's a beautiful place Greggs is always full of people tho but apart from that it was very splendid and the toilet staff were very kind and helpful

Avoid, this place isn't even worth one star. We pulled in this week for a breakfast stop. The overwhelming disgusting stench of sewage was so great that we gave up on breakfast, swapped drivers and left. How anyone could eat or even consider the purchase of food that had been cooked here is beyond me. Another driver since told us that the awful smell has been there for a long time so it seems that it's an ongoing issue.

Loved that there was a stop with a Greg's for the kiddies but don't understand how they can be cooking, warming sandwiches etc up but wouldn't warm a bean and sausage pastry up? .. it had to be eaten cold which on what was a cold day anyway just wasn't right.

Average toilets otherwise drive on.

Just a motorway services, usual costa etc available here, toilets are a bit on the rough side.

New showers installed on the Westbound side, so that's a positive outlook! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Showing it’s age now. Steps on entry with a lift only large enough for two people, so no chance of being used by a coach load of pensioners, which explains why it’s so quiet. So if you don’t mind the dated decor it may be worth a visit because it’s quick service. Other than that, not so good. Costa serves the usual fine coffee and snacks, and although some seated is dated other seating is newer.

Visited after early flight into Manchester. Safe parking and clean site.

Without doubt one of the worst smelling truck stops around. Smells more like a toilet than anything else.

We called into costa east bound at your services today at around 6.15pm , we were served by Olivia, she was very busy and working on her own, but greeted every customer with a smile , she was very pleasant and the coffee tasted great , great customer service when working under pressure, well done Olivia

There are greggs and kfc, possibly something else to eat, toilets, at least men's, are fairly fresh, however no soap in either toilets, when I approached mbr of staff they simply said there is no soap and that's it. Surely could do with some soap at the services lol.

Don't stop for a KFC here, if you're in a rush. Slowest service ever

Confusing road signs, toilets too far from entrance.

We stop here every so often driving out towards Manchester on the M62. Has plenty of parking. Clean toilet facilities. News agents. Burger king. Etc.

It is one of those annoying services that the toilets are all the way on the other side, so you have to walk through every shop to get there. However, it does have everything you need, and the greggs are right by the front door

Expensive, everything has jacked up prices because its a motorway stop. I expect a little price hike but M&S food store had small bowl fruit 8£. Just walked out after using the toilet. They where clean so gave 3 stars

There are non-functional washing machines here and they are not signaled as such!! I put the clothes in, I put detergent and when I paid with the card I had a surprise! The display on the display changed and informed me that it was defective, I called the phone number indicated there and had another unpleasant surprise, the number was blocked 🤮 I collected the clothes from the car and left with them to the full truck of detergent, 2 lei services 😡 I don't recommend using them

Great services for a stop off with lots of seating.

Friday for new showers and toilets. A bit of a strange smell of moisture throughout the site, but for England it's still great.

Needs a few million quid spending on it . Great if you are not Heathrow conscious, chips, burgers and fried chicken

Recently renovated after being voted one of the worst services in the UK. Still need improvements, and the car park and surrounding roads are full of pot holes. It is best to be avoided if you ca !

Absolutely loved it here. Good food, very clean throughout, a welcoming atmosphere, and the woman running the charity tombola was extremely kind. Thanks Chloe. I will definitely be coming here again when I get the chance. Best Moto I’ve been to so far.

Great Service Station! Not very aware of disabities at WHSmiths! Overall a comfortable place to stop on your way eastbound! Advised on further training on disability awareness!

Toilets absolutely disgusting. I know they have put up portable toilets while building work is in progress, but every single urinal was blocked and overflowing . Must be a health and safety issue. I only have one star because you can't give zero.

That KFC was finger licking good. First time there and it was a great experience at Moto Birch Eastbound.

Not good the burger king here is awful, Shocking on road for 6 hours so didn't complain just got back on the road. Really Stale bread and Patty chips cold.... Was in a rush will skip next time.

As with many of these places now you get hounded by scammers in the car park but on this occasion one was threatening. The duy managers shoukd not wait to be informed about this people but rather act earlier because I am sure they know they are there.

Men's toilets block and unusable staff member told me it wasn't her job to deal with as she walked away form the toilets with her mop and bucket

Excellent friendly staff..After a long flight my family needed to crash and relax.. The staff was welcoming and the bedrooms were spotless. My only problem was I found it difficult to fiñd

Arrived here late at night early morning everything seemed closed carpark weird due to a lot of work installing electric charging points .. any way Burger King was open despite all the chairs on tables and lots of empty cardboard packaging piled up.. it actually was OK...again despite putting the fries in open upside down no hope of recovery just had to pick them out of the bag cold ...any way .. no need to stay here however short the break from driving

Needs rebuilding or at least a bit of decoration

Everytime I visit here, KFC or Burger King they never have everything on the menu. It's alright for a cuppa and toilets.

Birch services are looking a bit tatty unfortunately and it's a fair trek to get to the loos. Better off waiting until you get to Hartshead if you can.

Decent service station...motos generally are

Drove up there to go to Pret. Bit basic for a services but has everything you need if passing through. Costa, pret, M&S toilets and nice outdoor eating area for the good weather. Plenty of seating when youve made your purchases.

A messy layout both inside and out. You navigate between parked lorries to get out. The furthest (from the car park, poor for older people) and worst location of toilets of any motorway services in Britain. The only redeeming feature is the next services on the M62 is not much better. There are some very good motorway services in Britain but not on the M62.
