A huge wall of beer fridges and big tap menu means there's a lot of interesting stuff here for beer nerds to appreciate, so I could spend a lot of time and money here! Plenty of space to sit inside and out the front. They have some meat and cheese board type food available, but also you can order from the burger place next door and they will bring it to your table.

Great service, delicious beer. The only problem is the prices. I understand that a beer can cost 6 pounds because this is how the country fights alcoholism, but for sparkling water, a small bottle, to cost almost 4 pounds?? It's better to buy beer.

Great vibe, friendly staff, massive range of alcoholic drinks and now they always have non-alcoholic beer on draft as well as in the fridges. It's great for a social drink after climbing at BethWall just round the corner. They genuinely listen to customer feedback to make it even better and when we booked for a big birthday party they really went the extra mile to make it special.

Mother Kelly's is a New York inspired Tap Room and it's a brisk walk from Bethnal Green station and under the Railway Arches. Busy place on a Friday night with a nice vibe. They have 23 drinks on draught with a mixer of Indian Pale Ales (IPAs) and a few lagers. They also have over 5 fridges stocked with IPAs etc. No.7 (£4.50 for half a pint) was my favourite 'Left Hand Hard Wired Nitro - Coffee Porter' which is a stout. Mother Kelly's must be the most important beer place East London. With enormous selection of world beers on tap ranging from double IPA's to barley wine they have something for everyone. And if that is not enough - they have whole wall of display fridges stacked with bottles of beer. Everything is divided in categories making it very easy to browse. All bottles are available to purchase to take away (with discounted price in comparison to have it in).Actual place is set just moments from Bethnal Green station in Paradise Row. It has large yard where time to time BBQ or other food stool is set. If you are after a small snack, I would recommend olives and bread (it comes with olive oil and vinegar).I visited Mother Kelly's on a few occasions and their staff was always friendly and very knowledgeable to all my questions. This place is complete opposite from your regular pub. There's beer. And then there's Beer. Mother Kelly's knows this. Their staff know this, and they're helping everyone who comes in get to know this. From light lagers to super sour Guezes, the selection in the massive fridges and on tap at the back of this railway arch right by Bethnal Green tube is ridiculous. That location, that selection and those friendly bar staff means the place can get a little busy, but they move the crowds at the bar along quickly - and you can book ahead to save a spot. Bar staff very friendly and informative, the girl made sure we had somewhere to sit which was very sweet of her. Mother Kelly's is situated in an Arch under the overground rail line in East London about 200 m north of Bethnal Green Tube Station. There are 4 or 5 restaurants and bar hangouts in these arches just off the end of Bethnal Green Road. MK's has 23 beers on tap and they change every week or so. If you don't like beer don't despair the wine list aint too bad either. This is a good place to appreciate the rise of the craft or artisanal beer culture in London. A great place to while a way a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, although Friday night's not bad either. There is no music and if its cold make sure you squeeze inside and grab a seat. There is usually a food vendor outside who will serve up some pretty decent hotdogs. Good atmosphere. A must destination for the beer aficionado's. I recommend it.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I freely admit that I am currently enamored with Mother Kelly’s. It’s location- hidden in the arches down Paradise Row, yet adjacent to Bethnal Green tube station- ensures that people don’t just wander in haphazardly, but it is still very easy to catch the last tube home when last calls echo through the bar. It’s a fabulous new addition to East London and a perfect concept for beer aficionados; if you’re looking to try something novel, this is *the* place to go. The twenty beers on tap are constantly rotating and there’s a new selection offered on every visit. The staff will talk you through their recommendations or let you try for yourself if you’re not convinced that a milk stout or sour Belgian beer sound to your taste. There’s a wall of taps offering beer and ciders, but there are some local gins and other spirits and wine for those less inclined. Adjacent to the tap bar is a wall of fridges, where a wide variety of beers and ciders can either be enjoyed in or taken away. The décor is industrial and pretty on-trend minimalistic- there are a few small barrels used as tables, but mostly communal style seating and more tables outdoors for the warmer months (or all year around when you’re a smoker). It gets pretty hot and boisterous on a Saturday night, but I’ve always managed to eventually get a seat with some patience. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and are always milling about, clearing away the glasses as they stack up.If you’re feeling experimental, take a group a friends and have a sip of everyone’s beer- it’s a great conversation point and everyone will find something that they enjoy by the end of the evening. Be warned, though- some of the beers are very strong and most are offered in 2/3 pints (or smaller depending on the potency of the beer). The one downside to Mother Kelly’s is that it might have an impact on your wallet- it can get a bit pricy depending on your palate and drinking speed!

A long term irritation with Trip Advisor is its annoyingly restrictive categories. If it's not a restaurant, hotel or café it doesn't fit, but TA still insists one has to enter everything as one of these.Mother Kelly's has imported the tap room style from New York, and placed it beneath a railway arch a couple of minutes walk from Bethnal Green underground station. Around twenty draught cask and keg craft beers are always on, ordered by number from printed menus - no beer clips, or anything else, on the taps. Prices are dear: beers are serves in third or two-thirds of a pint measures, but cost more than halves or pints in most pubs. However the quality is top-notch, and there are rarities here you'll struggle to find elsewhere. One entire wall is taken up with glass fronted fridges filled with at least 100 different bottled beers from all over the World. There are two prices for bottles: more expensive to drink on the premises; cheaper to carry home. There's a few wine options.Food is limited to snacks: pork pies, cheese, that sort of stuff.Seating is large communal tables and benches, both inside and out. There's a couple of dual-gender toilets. And that's about it. This is a place to drink high quality unusual beers - and for that it is excellent.
