Goodman Canary Wharf in Tower Hamlets

A perfect meal with a perfect waitress who made sure my preference of halal food was taken care of with precision, going as far we to let me know the parmesan was made from animal products. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was lovely and inviting The waitress refilled any water or wine that she saw was getting low and added a nice touch to a meal. Prawn tempura was delicious with a spicy mayo and avacado sauce. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and served with really good steak knives and a lovely peppercorn sauce. The cream spinach was a nice flavour with the meatiness of the steak. The truffle parmesan chips (minus the parmesan) had a good amount of flavourful truffle and tasted very decadent. The cookie Sunday was a great desert to end the meal and relax the flavours on the pallet. All in all one of the best meals I have ever had and it was halal. I really appreciate the staff taking the extra mile for the customers regarding this. Thanks I will definitely come back again and will recommend this to everyone.

US porterhouse arrived properly cooked medium rare BUT full of nerves and tasted not as good as before. £170 + service charge for this cut which we could not chew ! This is the second time happened to us. The other time was with a tasteless and totally dry filet (not US) which we turned back. Despite of that we said to give it another chance. I am afraid quality is decreased in contrast with prices. DISAPPOINTMENT !

The gentleman who served our table and showed us the blackboard including different cuts and, at the end of our meal, discussed and showed us the Australian and Japanese wagyu cuts was an absolute star and made our anniversary meal a delight. Moreso than the food, we'd come back to see him, he's a star! And as for the bartender who helped us choose (and fix) a surprise drink each, he was an absolute gentleman, and clearly knows his stuff. Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful night.

Fantastic venue with unbelievable food. Every member of staff is just so polite and helpful. My favourite place to go anywhere. Eaco was our man and he is superb. Will be back soon.

Best place for a wine and best scallops ever

One of the best steak experiences ever had. The Hungarian waiter was absolutely amazing made a massive difference in our experience overall.(apologies forgot his name). Considering to change as my go to steak place! Impressed.

Goodman in Canary Wharf delivers on its incredible steak. Despite no online availability for our short-notice party of eight, a quick call secured us a table. We arrived early, received a warm welcome at the bar, and the staff quickly picked up that one guest was both coeliac and alcohol-free. Once seated, Mate in particular went above and beyond—he guided us to order just enough (even adjusting as certain steaks sold out), and entertained our glow-stick hook game without missing a beat. Compared to the London City branch, this Goodman has a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, which I personally enjoy. Having visited on NYE and a late Saturday, the highlight remains the top-notch hospitality—Mate deserves special recognition. Highly recommended for steak lovers - if you're unsure - start with a 250g medium-rare filet from the à la carte menu. Add truffle macaroni, creamed or chili spinach, chips. Add peppercorn sauce AND stilton sauce (its more akin to a jus/ gravy reduction, not too stilton). A dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives is a must.

Fantastic steak restaurant, best in Canary Wharf and possibly in London. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, gave good recommendations and chat. Steak was delicious, buttery and flavourful. Chips were nice and crispy, and also actually a good size, 2 portions easily enough for the 3 of us. Pricy though!

Antes de publicar aquí intenté enviar un correo electrónico a Goodmans con mis preocupaciones, pero se recuperó. Al llegar notamos que el restaurante era generalmente tranquilo. La mitad del edificio estaba en la oscuridad. Fuimos bien recibidos a su llegada y nos mostraron nuestra mesa. , La zona de estar estaba en mal estado. I never usually leave a review for places but the service here was just amazing, me and a friend came to stay in Canary Wharf for a couple of days and decided to come to this steakhouse and I can confidently say it did not disappoint, I myself did not know much about anything to do with steak however a lovely employee came and brought a massive chalkboard sign with the anatomy of a cow and gave me and my friend a lot of information on why some are very expensive and why they are brought up eating solely one food, it was a great lesson and amazing service, very nice staff, food was just amazing and if you struggle to understand anything the staff are always there to help and are very nice! I would recommend this place to anybody who wants a lovely atmospheric dining in experience, great food and drinks - if I ever come back to Canary Wharf this place will be a go to for an evening dinner.

Wow wow wow, what am amazing experience. Dinner was exceptional!! The staff were attentive and full of knowledge. Mat our watier (from Hungary) was fantastic friendly and added to our fabulous evening. The food was sensational. I couldn't recommend this place enough and look forward to another visit in the future. Definitely a evening to remember.

Probably the best steak in Canary Wharf area 🙌🌟 This restaurant has a special place in my heart, back in 2018 after my graduation ceremony, I took my family here for dinner, and I still remember everything like it was yesterday, the feeling of the restaurant hasn’t changed but better. Now it is just me, my mother, and my younger brother here, on the way in we start talking about where we were sitting last time we were here. This has nothing to do with the food or anything, I just want to remind myself when I see this post in the next 10 years to remember a good time.

The Sunday roast at Goodmans Canary Wharf is an absolute must. If you’re looking for roast that is authentic, traditional, amazing quality and great value for money than this is your place! We had the rib roast for two which definitely was more than enough as it included sides- the cauliflower cheese with truffle is absolutely divine. The meat was also cooked to perfection and literally melts in your mouth. Goodmans also has an amazing selection of cocktails. Would definitely say to treat yourself to one whilst enjoying the roast overall and amazing experience staff super friendly and very helpful when helping you to decide what to eat on the menu. Absolute perfection would definitely come back.

One of the few restaurants in the UK where the service is truly spectacular. I LOVE that the waiter sat down and explained all the cuts of meat to us was 10/10!!! Steaks were insane too but the service is why I come out. Will defo be back again.

We had a delightful dinner with the loveliest waitress. We felt very welcome and accommodated. Our steaks were all cooked slightly different than the requested temperatures, but in fairness, we did not ask to have them corrected. The meal had great flavor. The truffle Mac and Cheese and the Cookie Sundae were huge hits with our party of six. Overall, a great dinner!

We have been to this chain for a few times now and it never disappoints. The food was generally excellent and the service was exemplary, especially since we had a phone call on the morning about the branch we booked was shut due to an incident and they reimbursed the cab fares to get to this branch. The only downside was the Spanish steaks were way too tough.

I had one of the best Sunday roasts. The steak trimmings were perfect, veggies cooked just right and the extensive cocktail list blew my mind. The staff is attentive and friendly and they made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Goodman for Sunday roasts and best steaks

Best scallops and best steak I have ever eaten

Coming from abroad to celebrate birthday hoping to have a wonderful dinner and experience turned to a whole weekend nightmare. After having oysters and steak that night at Goodmans Canary Warf, my partner was awakened in the early morning by violent vomiting. Later on, during the day developed high fever and other stomach issues that lasted for several days. This was reported to the restaurant management without proper response from their side. We requested for a health inspection report which was provided and note few findings and issues identified at the restaurant, inspection date was March 2024. Clearly hygiene issues are identified and the way how the food was stored. Also report mentions that mouse droppings were found in the preparation kitchen as well the fact that oysters were stored in the same place together with raw meat. Corrective measures were ordered. Report does not provide information if corrective measures took place. Just by reading the publicly available report it becomes obvious what could cause the issues we experienced. It is for a reader of this review to decide if this Restuarant is a place to visit or eat in it. I certainly would not recommend it to anyone.

I prefer Goodman over blacklog simple because their steaks are better and they have seafood options. Really liked every single one of their dishes. Even though they could have been slightly more generous on the tartar. Another minus point is that when I first asked for a Chimichurri the waiter said they don’t have it. When I asked an other waiter she brought it for me.

The most tender sirloin steak I have ever eaten- however it just needed more flavour. They have a small selection of halal steaks, great for a dinner date. Service was great, staff were friendly and hospitable.

We are meat lovers and like to try everywhere, we loved this place, firstly, the impeccable service from Nuno, he was really very kind, very attentive, very pleasant. The meat was delicious and very well served, the fries were also good. And the dessert, incredible, I am often disappointed in meat restaurants in which there is little dessert choices, but the extra white chocolate crème brulée is the cherry on the cake! The place is really nice, especially in Canary Wharf, and you've got some big meat pieces you can even see, beautiful. Thanks again Nuno for making this experience even better! We went for a last-minute anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant that offers halal options. While the halal selection was limited, there was still something to enjoy. I wish they had more choices. The staff were fantastic, very professional and helpful from the moment we entered until we finished our meal. Our server, an attentive and friendly Asian lady, made our experience even better. We ordered steaks and sides, and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly as we requested. A little tip: they might want to ask customers about their seasoning preferences, as the steaks were a bit heavily seasoned. The highlight of our evening was when we were surprised with a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary—such a thoughtful gesture from the restaurant! We had a great experience and will definitely be back next time.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and friendly service. However, I was disappointed with my handcut Australian steak. I had requested it to be cooked medium-rare, but it was overcooked (nearly well-done). Worse, the steak was quite oily, which was strange considering the cut. While the ambiance was pleasant, the execution on the main course missed the mark.

We were really catered to well, well interacted with and made to laugh. Food was delicious and filling. We weren’t rushed to leave even as they were preparing to close. Will definitely be back

Excellent restaurant, best roast beef ever. Extensive steak menu which is explained in detail about cut, age and country of origin. Staff very informative and attentive. Glasses were never empty, topped up as soon as they were low. Portions so big I needed a doggy bag.

If I could give Goodman's a 10-star rating, I absolutely would. My husband and I ran the London Marathon on April 21, 2024. We always have steak and potatoes before every big race (great race fuel). Goodman's was very conveniently located, took us in without a reservation (our fault, but we went at about 4pm hoping to be allowed in without a reservation) and had a great time! The wait staff was amazing! The staff member with the really cool sleeve tattoos was very informative and made great recommendations while still being very cautious about my mushroom food allergies. The Scottish filet was absolutely perfectly seasoned, expertly cooked, and absolutely melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were probably the best I have ever had. My husband demolished the burger (I don't think I have ever had such a quiet meal with him, he was just too busy chowing down on the burger). I wish we'd had space for dessert because it looked amazing, but the steak was just too good to not eat every single bite. Needless to say; the next time we run the London Marathon, Goodman's will be our choice for our pre-race dinner (and likely several other meals).

It's a very interesting experience. While in other steakhouses I'd be pointed to a blackboard when asked about butcher cuts, here the waiter brought a blackboard to our table, and literally sat down with us for five minutes explaining different breeds of cattle they stock. Value for money for Sunday roast was amazing. The Prime rib cut was delicious, and I'm comparing this to other similarly priced steakhouses I've been to in the area. And their chocolate cake is amazing as well.

Good quality steaks and professional service. Fabulous wine list. This is a top end steak restaurant where the quality of the meat is paramount to the experience, and the prices reflect that. This wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was good enough. The wine list is excellent. If you can’t find one to suit… look again or ask the sommelier who is super helpful and not condescending.

First experience at Goodman, wanted to especially call out the exceptional service provided by Eaco who took care of us throughout the evening, explained everything in detail (the different cuts, the aging process, differences between each country's steaks) and with passion, whilst never upselling anything to us. The food itself was great and decent value. Dry-aged rib eye on the bone was flavourful with slightly crisped skin, and definitely have to call out the amazing Berry Crème Brûlée special that wrapped up our evening!!

It was a horribly wet Sunday, and we were very lucky to get a table in the non-reserved section of the restaurant, especially since it was Mother’s Day. We had a lovely and perfectly cooked ribeye steak with the Rioja Reserva. it was amazing that the place is dog friendly, and Livvy agreed that the stake was excellent!

Not a huge fan. Steak was very fatty and too buttery for me. Also slightly overcooked, why not just use a meat temp? Very expensive too. Mac n cheese and scallops also not great.
