The worst fish & chips I have ever eaten. The fish was dry, the batter more like rubber.

Portion sizes of chips were horrendously small. Will go elsewhere, prices extortionate given what you get.

Grumpy staff. The meanest large portion of chips I've seen , £4.20 for what I call a small portion.. extremely mean .

You definitely get what you pay for here. There is a wide range of choice. The staff are lovely and helpful

The go-to fish & chip place in West Hampshire. Fantastic flavour and fast & friendly service. Most often a bit of banter in the queue too :) We are so lucky to have Mother Kelly's in Petersfield!

I made a detour to get some fish and chips here. I'm so glad i did. Had to wait 8 minutes for freshly cooked haddock, well worth the wait. Crisp chips with soft centre. Perfectly cooked as was the haddock, fresh with a crisp batter. Bonus was getting chips for free as an OAP at lunchtime. 10/10👍

Popped in to grab some fish and chips before walking around the lake. Had a great chat with the owner, good choice on the menu and more importantly, great sausage and chips! Will be heading back in soon. Would recommend.

Gluten free Thursdays has been such a find. Lovely fish and chips, and even gf vinegar.

The best fish and chips I have had in 25 years. Excellent service, friendly and polite staff and delicious cod and chips.

Small portions and overpriced unfortunately

Used to be alright but now very overpriced with awful portion sizes. This is a large chips for £3.60....

Fantastic chips. A steak and kidney pie that actually had kidney in it, and crisp fish that wasn't greasy. All round some of the best fish and chips I've ever had.

Terrible fish and chips. The fish is so over cooked it’s hard. The whole lot went in the bin. Very small portion for a large too. How disappointing.

Went last night and had the best fish and chips we'd ever had from there. Very nice.

Always great tasting fish and chips. Freshly cooked or near to it as far as I can tell (at typical dinner times). Salt and pepper squid is a winner too. Service is pretty efficient too.

Not bad food. Try it but the cod is pricy at £7.25 a time.. Chips 3.25, large size. Pricy.

The size of the fish was very good but the chips could be a bit larger for a large portion still the best in the area

Went there today and asked for chips , cheese and gravy . I was told they don't do gravy or cheese 😳 I have lived all over the country and this is the very first chippy I have gone to that says they don't do gravy or cheese, but they do curry sauce instead? So I thought ok, i'll have a vegetarian burger instead ... Also, no vegetarian burger available. I didn't end up buying any food from here , but I really think you should consider doing cheese and gravy because you are missing out on customers .

Best fish and chip shop in Petersfield.

No pies left at 8pm. If you’re only going to be open four hours a night you’d think you would be able to offer the full menu throughout the whole shift. If only they could follow the same standards their colleagues in Paulsgrove follow - they always have everything right up until close and it’s delicious. This is what happens when you leave kids in charge - yes they’re half the minimum wage of adults but they do half a job.

do not expect gluten free food from this establishment advertises gluten free but it is not gluten free COELIACS BEWARE

We've been buying fish and chips from Mother Kellys for a year. We have recommended this restaurant to the hilt to everyone. Real chips, fab fish. Now, I don't know if management is economising, but our last 2 visits have been disappointing. The large cod was no bigger than standard, both times, most recently tonight. And why have you stopped using a bag with a handle? Two large fish and chips in a little bag? It ripped. Hopefully, it will be third time lucky - or back to previous very high standard? I really appreciate your response, Trevor, thank you. We'll be on our way down to see you tonight and are looking forward to great fish and chips!

Every restaurant has it good and occasionally bad day. Nearly every time the food has been beautiful, but on those rare occasions when it's not up to their usually standard, a polite chat has always been given the very best attention and replaced without question. We have used Mother Kelleys since they came to Petersfield and can thoroughly recommend them.

Cold chips purchased at approx 12. The large portion contained no more than 30 chips .. Over priced would advice not to use . No comparison to mother kellys near Porchester

Lovely fish and chips but charged me for a curry sauce and didn’t put it in bag. Can’t contact on phone either, rather annoying.

Beautifully cooked fish the pea fritter was absolutely perfect the chips excellent one of the best fish and chip meals I've had for a long long time will be back here again

Moving to Petersfield and finding a good Fish & Chips was one important priority and we were very happy to have found this place - family run businesses don't disappoint!. Will return again!

Freshly cooked and plenty of chips, good taste.

I normally go to Sea & Spud but it was shut, I hoped this had improved with the decor and name change but both the fish and the chips were bland and soggy. The batter was undercooked and flavourless. The mushy peas were also very bland and pure paste. We also waited about 5 minutes before they would take our order and then a good while before it came out, even though the shop was almost empty.
