Moscardini Brothers in Falkirk

Still one of the best in the area! Fast service, plenty for the money and was surprisingly still hot when I got it home. I’d say Moscardini’s is in the Top 3 chippy’s in the central belt.

In I went for a small special fish 🐠 T I had the milky coffee & it came in a mug piping 🔥 😁 👍 As usual my small fish was done in lovely smooth breadcrumbs 👍 despite it being a bit flat it tasted very nice (as usual) She (the waitressl asked me if I wanted side salad I said "yes please" & when it all came very quickly I forgot to ask her where the lettuce 🥬 was & maybe the 1/2 tomato 🍅 all I got was a small tub of coleslaw which has some hard cabbage? In it & just ate 1/2 of it & I was surprised that my chips were only warm BUT I still ate everything up. When I went to pay my bill I was surprised that they reduced the amount I had to pay because of the warm chips 🍿 SO top marks for doing that.

Well I have had fish and chips and such all over Scotland, a fish and chips shop you can sit in is great. This is the best fish and chips in Falkirk by far and if was not I would certainly say so. Batter was crispy and tasty, fish cooked to protection. Chips were perfect to, great size portion for the price, cans of juice are always served ice cold, free tartare sauce, I was was very satisfying is and understatement, to cap a it a of the waitress was polite friendly and may i day beautiful 😉 and that alone made my day, my hat goes of to the owner of this astablishment all other fish and chips shopd take heed and follow the blue print of this business.

Best fish tea in Falkirk. Husband and I took Grandkids and we all loved it. Everything freshly made, lovely salad and coleslaw came with fish and chips. Nice cup of tea,only downside was little cartons of milk not fresh milk but can live with that. Bread and butter came with meal too. Great value for money, staff were nice and didn't have to wait long. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Got a take away of White pudding and haggis suppers. Really lovely food, well packaged, will definitely be back when next in Falkirk

Don't bother asking for your tea to come in a pot , apparently it cost more to use 1 tea bag in a pot than it does 1 tea bag in a cup !!!! Staff could be doing with some customer care training 🤔

Been a while since I visited here. Fabulous service Clean, nice kay our, friendly Food to die for. I had a large special supper and it was out of this world. Best fish & chips I've had anywhere Absolutely superb......a must if uou are in Falkirk

Called at Saturday tea-time when it was exceptionally busy There were at least two delivery drivers waiting, people in the restaurant and customers who came and went picking up their orders. I waited 35 minutes for one fish and chips. What irritated me was that another customer just in front of me at the order desk left with her two meals after 15 minutes yet I waited another 20 minutes with lots of fish under the lamps on top of the fryer. I don’t understand why they couldn’t just have given me one of those. If you must go at busy times then pre-ordering is essential in my view. This restaurant is located in a narrow street and it’s not always possible to park outside however cars do move regularly as customers come and go. The restaurant looked clean and the staff were pleasant. The food was excellent however this was an experience I would not like to repeat and won’t be going back. I thought about awarding a rating of 2 however this seems unfair as the food was very good.

Have used Moscardini's over the years but recently standards have been dropping. Since the onset of Covid we have used their delivery service which started off well but is now very poor: last night order placed @ 1755 with delivery eventually made @ 2025. Sadly the quality of the food was poor: fish clearly suffering from residing too long under the hot lamps, batter like leather and fish dry. Chips congealed and definitely not "crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside". Following other disappointments we had decided to give Moscardini's one more chance: well they blew it!

Always a reliable place to go in Falkirk if you are looking for an easy meal. I always get the fish and chips and they never disappoint!

Totally gutted. Was looking forward to a gluten free fish supper when i was told they dont do it anymore as they would have to clean the area and show the customer them washing their hands. Used to be the best Gluten Free fish supper about.

I have probably not been in Moscardini's for 40 years but really enjoyed our recent visit. The restaurant is a traditional fish and chip shop with seating. The large special fish came in a huge portion which was fresh and tasty. Great value for money.

I called ahead to ensure this shop done gluten free to be told it is gluten free batter on fish and fritters but everything is cooked together in same oil so not really gluten free. I suggested they should no longer advertise they are offering gluten free food as this could potentially make real coeliac people very unwell

What has happened to Moscardini’s recently. Twice in the past month, we have ordered fish suppers, only to find the boxes were empty of chips. What sort of chippy forgets to include chips in the order?

Lovely. I’ve been coming here over the years and the service and food has always been great. Fresh fried chips and the chippy sauce is to die for. Quite often have a baguette or toastie as well as something from the chippy side and all areas are just as good as each other. Portion size is also very favourable for the price. Would, and have recommended time and time again.

Had take away fish and chips this afternoon . Staff were very helpful and friendly and offered forks and sauces. Food was freshly cooked and tasted fantastic as usual,hope to return in the near future. Keep up the good work folks and Thanks.

Was looking for something different from my usual chippy as it's gone down hill recently so a quick google search showed up this one with good reviews. You can order online i opted to order via the phone but the online menu helped with choosing my dinner. Quick process over the phone and card payments accepted which in the current climate is ideal, well priced and quick delivery.Food arrived warm and massive portions I was stuffed after it! Fritters are lovely and big too thankfully it wasn't drowned in grease like alot of chip shops. Over all lovely dinner will most likely return when i fancy a chippy for dinner.

Had a take out fish supper from here in Oct 2019. Fish was cooked to order, very good value for money, good quality service from staff, and a good sized portion of food as well.. All in all does what it says on the tin...

e used to eat here often but its getting very costly we were in the other day for food it was nice but the price a fish supper to eat in was £9.50 can of juice was £1.80 nice food great staff but going to price its self out the game

Decent old school fish teas. Hugh portions. All freshly made. Home made coleslaw. Friendly service. One of the better options in the central belt for fish & chips.

Used to be a reg haunt when I was a lad, it was badly outdated then but there was something about their chips which set them apart. Stopped in last Friday for first time in, years, and, place totally modernized which is good, chips and cheese, bit pricey at £4.80 !!! but, nice tasting.

Ordered breaded mushrooms and fish and chips, fish and chips were lovely however the breaded mushrooms were not! They were soggy, not crispy like my friends, they weren’t pleasant to Eat. I said to the younger girl and she was more than happy to take them away told her I didn’t want them replaced as I was already put off. When me and friends go to pay we were paying separately, I went first. I said it was just the fish and chips and the juice because I sent the mushrooms back she then went away and came back “you will still need to pay for these as there was nothing wrong with them” I told her I wasn’t paying for them considering there was 8 on the plate and I ate 2 before sending them back, when I walked out the shop my friend was behind me and she decided to be rude and talk about it as I could here her out side and it was my friend she was speaking to, nothing my rudeness from the lady with the brown her, attitude towards customers was appalling, wouldn’t recommend this place!

Travelling alone for business, in June 2019. Called in at around 5:30pm as several other local places had closed for serving food. Was not disappointed though as was greeted well by friendly staff, and the fish and chips I ordered to eat in was lovely. Two very large pieces of haddock and a good amount of decent chips, very tasty. With hindsight I’d have gone for the full ‘supper’ option. I would highly recommend the venue, and would happily stay again if I was ever in the area.

Came for the special fish tea, you have a choice of small or large, I opted for the small, I’m glad I did as this was still huge! Excellent value at around £8.50, you get fish, chips, salad, coleslaw, bread & butter and either tea or coffee. Will keep coming back here when I visit next, the food is always consistently good.

Fantastic fish and chips from this Falkirk institution. The fish was fresh, the chips tasty but the highlight was the batter on the fish, so crispy.

This is a spotlessly clean place to eat with kids and small fish and chips priced really well.Take a seat and friendly staff take your order and return with freshly cooked delights!Toilet’s also clean and fresh.This is a must when looking for food cooked to order .I would ignore some suspect reviews about Moscardini and read the other really positive genuine ones.When we return for our next holiday we will come back!

The place was not very clean and I have no idea how it could get good reviews. Had the fish and chips and chips were more on the soggy side and fairly tasteless. There was more batter than fish in my meal and fairly tasteless as well.

We visit this fab chippy usually once a month. The fish tea is the best I've ever had and I've had a few.Value for money at only £7.95. Way better than other establishments in central Scotland. If you haven't been give it a go you won't be disappointed.

Best chippy in Falkirk area in my opinion, having tried most of them! They cook fresh to order here, but it's worth the wait. They also do Gluten Free fish if you ask, but oddly they don't advertise it on the board.

Having been going to Moscardini's for years... never thought to write a review but always tell people about it. Two big pieces of fish, chips, coleslaw, salad, tea, bread and butter… what more could you want? Staff are very friendly too. Toilets immaculate. All on one level too.

the food is always fresh cooked to perfection from ordering to being served does not take long the staff are all very nice and very pleasant nothing is to much trouble for them we will be back

Having an injured person with me using crutches, this was an ideal place to eat as it was not far from the hotel we were staying at.

Went in recommendation from a friend. Excellent place!

Pop in here fairly regular for a bite before I go home premises appear very busy, and also very clean, staff serve you quickly, and the foods always seem freshly cooked.

As per title, great place to get Gluten Free Fish & Chips. I prefer the batter here to Land & Sea. The menu doesn't advertise anywhere they do GF, but they definitely do just ask! Everything cooked fresh so allow a wait.

Great place for a quick lunch. Food made fresh to order, thus served very hot. Great choices and food lovely. Portions are very generous. Staff friendly. Can get very busy making it hard to get a seat.

Visited for lunch with my daughter and Aunt. Restaurant was very busy. Service was quick and food was tasty and reasonably priced.

I travel the uk by motorhome and always try fish and chips in all parts of the country.this little cafe is top notch .a very friendly welcome followed with 100% full of flavour fish chips and mushy peas and the tastiest fritters a must to visit.

We drove into town just because we have heard about the good gluten-free f&c; in the internet. What should I say, it was worth it. So delicious! Friendly people, good prices! My husband was just thinking to take an additional portion 😊

Visited Moscardini's to see if my memories of the place were still as good and we were not disappointed at all. Although the original family do not own the premises anymore the new owners have kept up the tradition of good quality food at reasonable prices served by friendly helpful staff. We had fish and chip tea (one served with bread and butter ) which arrived in no time at all, fresh and good portion sizes. The food was delicious. Great little place with nice staff. Wish I lived nearer.

So pleased to find somewhere that does gluten free fish suppers in Falkirk. Quick service even though they were really busy. Good value too. Planning our next visit already!

It is really good to know about fish and chip shops which do gluten-free food all the time, not just every Wednesday or when the Moon is in Aquarius....There is a bustle about this place which is reassuring, with lots of customers sitting in or coming for a takeaway meal. I waited between five to ten minutes for my food to be freshly cooked . Nine pounds for a very large gf fish supper, tomato sauce and can of Irn Bru seemed a reasonable price. I was glad that the dog was waiting in the car to help me with the fish, which consisted of two snowy white fillets of well-cooked fish in a lovely crispy batter. Bring a good appetite with you when you come to this establishment.

My daughter and I go here a lot. The fish and chips are awesome. The brown sauce is perfect. Staff are always very helpful and nice to chat to. We go here as often as possible. The food is always freshly made to order and u never get re-heated food.

Called in as I was in need of a king rib fix, not how I remembered the shape, originally the had raised parts along them!... But still tasty, and chips were perfect! I used to go here when it was the original moscardini cafe.... Sad that you thought it needed a revamp, we all loved it for what it was... But glad you have kept up the standards! And anyone from outside Scotland, try the brown sauce... In fact any Scottish Chippies (broon) brown sauce.

Walking by and noticed this traditional chip shop was busy to nearly overflowing on a Wednesday lunchtime I now know why a standard menu but all you need had the special fish tea and it was special two large fish fillets freshly cooked to order chips ,salad and coleslaw a cup of tea and a slice of bread and butter eventually beat me as they say my eyes were bigger than my belly and I have a big belly. Well impressed to be recommended small fish tea next time

I have eaten here for last 50years and always found this restaurant a warm friendly place. Must be the best chippy in town. We visit once a week and the quality of the fish & chips is always first class. The staff are always very helpful, whether sitting in or take away. We usually have a small fish tea which is more than enough but if really hungry try going large.

Been to Moscardini's many times now, both the original + newly owned. I love the pizza crunch but as it is so filling I have to order the kids quarter crunch which the staff happily oblige with. My husband is very fussy with chippies and even he likes the food. Highly recommendThe staff that work there are always nice + food is always served quickly. It is even better nkw that they are open until 9pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays as the usual 7pm close is a little early for thise who maybe finish at 6pm and don't stay in the town. Will definitely be back.

Went here for a family tea, remember the old moscardini's of years gone by but have to say, pleasantly surprised by the modernised café, first class fish and chips accompanied by bread and butter and a mug of tea, went for the small portion (which was more than ample) at 5.90, good selection and very friendly service, would recommend and will revisitif I had to offer criticism the only thing would be I would like to be offered peas along with salad and coleslaw, but it's only a minor gripe

Love mosca's the food is very well worth the money and the staff are very friendly. Chicken nuggets all the way.

Been here a few times with my partner and kids for lunch and can never fault it. We've had various things off the menu and all have been delicious! As we go for lunch we find the portion sizes to be just right and the service has always been quick and always pleasant.

Ate here with a friend. We were both hungry and looking forward to our lunch, but dissapointment soon set in when we saw the portion sizes, they were a bit on the small side. £5.50 for chicken goujons with a very small side of chips and no hint of salad or anything else to brighten up the plate. It didn't help when the waitress sat down at the table facing us to have her lunch, which consisted of fish (fair enough) but the accompanying chip portion was double the size of mine and my friends put together. Left us feeling a bit cheated to be honest. Think in future we'll go elsewhere.

Visited here on Saturday afternoon. Remember this being best place in Falkirk for Fish and chips, but was disappointed with customer service and feel that the character has been lost. The food was quite good but not enough to be tempted back. The toilets were not working properly either. All in all rather disappointed!

The food was very good, couldn't fault it as always but the customer service we received was very disappointing. We waited for half an hour after getting seated to ask if our food was even ready, while people seated after us were receiving their food and even paying before ours had even came out, and after mentioning it we waited a further 10 mins for our food and even just a glass of tap water. We ordered a baked potato and a haggis supper... no way should this take 40 mins, felt like we were invisible. The waitress who served us was clearly upset for some reason but was not very pleasant towards us and noticeably other people, very rude in fact. Extremely disappointed as the other times I have went I have had no complaints to give but I noticed this time the staff had changed and after the experience today, I definitely will not be back.

Had lunch here when in Falkirk with our 3 year old grandson. The food was delicious. The wee one loved his chicken nuggets. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the place was spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.

Surprise find for hungry shoppers :-) The Large Fish Tea is a whopping two pieces of battered haddock, with chips, coleslaw, salad and bread and spread (shame it's not butter) and a cuppa.Excellent fresh cooked fish in an light crispy batter pull this review up to 4 stars, good coleslaw and reasonable salad tooShame the chips were a tad sad, the bread low quality and the vinegar so dilute one needed to swim the chips in it.Decent bread and butter , cleaning the condiment sets (which were a tad encrusted) and not diluting the vinegar would make this a five star cafe.

this was my third visit to this restaurant and every visit was good as the other their special fish is a very popular choice but have a wide variety to choose from next time your in Falkirk give this restaurant a try the staff are very friendly and go out there way to make you welcome

I return to Falkirk whenever possible and it was great to see this restaurant still operating. I have been coming here for over 30 years and it has now changed owners but the service and food are outstanding. If you are ordering the large fish make sure you are very hungry and the haggis was FAB Well done .

My husband and I visit this restaurant on fairly regular basis. We have only tried their fish teas and our recommendation would be that you would be hard pushed to find a better one- really delicious. An added bonus is that they do not shut early.

Great chippy menu for eating in or take away, cooked to perfection. A bright and airy envoirnment with friendly staff, makes this a fab wee place to have your lunch.

Modern decor and pleasant staff. We had a fish tea, I had a small fish tea which was just a normal portion size for £5 95 and my husband had a large at £7 95 ( the only difference was the large had 2 FISH !! Speedy service and scalding hot food right in the middle of the town.

Sitting here on a Thursday afternoon and for once not to busy the girls are very pleasant and cheery as usual but as for the boss I'm disgust been here 25 mins or so he has yet to come off his mobile phone if not texting he is talking no gloves handling the food shouting for the girls to serve even thou they are busy. Won't answer when girls ask if an order is ready being rude when he has to serve and still on the phone

Been coming here for years, never once had a bad meal. Went today with my grandmother, I had the macaroni and she had the kids fish and chips. Amazing as per, very fussy when it comes to chippies but this is easily the best one in Falkirk, staff are friendly too

Went here yesterday and had to queue 10 mins wait on a table.it was really busy which normally is a good sign.ordered fish tea with coffee.the coffee arrived first and was the best coffee I,ve had in ages,brill.the fish and chips arrived.two slices of fish and lovely looking chips.unfortunately, the batter on the fish although crispy on the outside was flour, soggy on the inside.I couldn't eat it.my knife struggled to cut through the batter.it had been cooked so fast and hot it crisped up on outside but undercooked on the inner.I can only put it down to cafe being packed.but really in all honesty, this shouldn't happen.coffee,s Brill though.

This is a long established name in Falkirk , taken over and modernised in the last few years. If you are looking for fine dining then this is not for you, but they do a fantastic traditional 'fish tea'. It consists of fish, chips, mushy peas, bread&butter and a pot of tea. Absolute heaven !

first time I've been in since I came home and wow what a difference the new decor has made to the place, the foods still good too which is a bonus.

My husband and I have been going here most Friday nights for the past three years and have never been disappointed. The fish tea is really good served with a nice salad, fresh tea and bread/butter and most reasonably priced. The staff are always keen to help and kept very busy, unlike a previous comment which said they stood around smoking, never seen this. We will continue to go here.

I love this little fish and chip restaurant that is famous with everyone in this area and beyond. Their fish teas are legendary! Freshly made and plentiful! The only thing I would flag up about this place is their mugs of tea. When you order a fish tea it comes with a mug of tea or coffee. But for some reason they heat the mug up or something. It's always beyond hot to touch! You have to leave it to sit for at least 20 minutes before you can even think about putting it to your lips and even then it's still hot! it's likely to burn your lips before then. I love this restaurant and visit regularly, but I feel they really need to look into finding a way to cool the mugs down a little bit. It's the only thing I dislike about the place. Otherwise it's a must visit when you are in falkirk.

This cafe has been in many of my fondest memories, from when I was at school to present. Lovely chips and we like some things to stay the same as everything else seems to change.

Being a local i remember how it was, yes it had its heart ripped out and revamped and for most its not how they would like it now. But decor wise this should not effect peoples views of the food. Now i recently tried it after not being in since i was a teenager and have to say its just as good if not better than i remember it being. Also the Haggis is the best i have tasted since a young lad. Just love going here when in the town now great wee chippie time changes and decor comes and goes but the food is by far just as good as its always been.
