Mo's Diner in Plymouth

Didn’t enjoy the offerings of Mo’s, either the outsized burgers or the rather flat and quiet room up a much too steep long flight of stairs from the street. New owners have joined with local press to advertise their purchase of the whole building and reopen the ground and first floors as part pub but with a lot a tables on each level. We’ll wait and see.

This place saved my life in Christmas day of 2016, i was alone at the city, everything was closed or fully booked and this restaurant was open. I drink a couple of Guinness ( no paint) and a delicious kangaroo burger for the first time in my life, really good!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE !!!! over charged by £4.00 the burgers we ordered was not monster burgers that we paid for added extended time hour and half delivery time driver never had change on him first time ordering from here and will certainly be the last i have over 3400 friends on my Facebook i will be telling them all about this very unhappy with the whole service !!!!! D

Fuming with the disgusting customer service! I ordered the English Burger with no salad and mayo... Yet there was salad and ketchup on the burger, my sister in law ate the burger but took the salad out. I contacted just eat who contacted the restaurant and they said that the chef didn't put salad on it. I then asked for the restaurants number and they said that it definitely didn't have salad in. I asked if he's calling me a liar and he said yes, then back tracked and said no. So he asked me to send a picture of it to him on WhatsApp. RIDICULOUS! So I sent him the picture of the salad from the burger. And he said that because there's no burger he can't give me anything, and when questioned he said he would have sent a driver out to collect it. I said it wasn't fit for purpose, I bought a burger to eat. Which I couldn't, so I gave it to my sister in law. I explained that if he had held his hands up at the beginning and just apologised then I would have accepted that and continued ordering from them a couple of times a month. As soon as I said this he said he's sorry. I told him it's too late, the damage has been done. And that I never will be eating from there again.. He then told me to f*** off multiple times before he hung up on me. For the sake of a sorry or a few quid they have lost £40-50 per month for the foreseeable future!

Amazing food, nice atmosphere and really friendly staff always willing to help. I do recommend it for anyone who is after a decent meal and good time. The Romanian food is to die for!

High price for average quality food delivery time slow.

Ordered take away via just eat. When to collect the food, got home and the lasagna was burnt at the bottom. It didn't taste very nice. The Mexican nachos with chilli con carne was just kidney beans with a few jalapenos. The Italian burger looked like it came from Mc Donalds and tasted like it had been pre-chewed. Very disappointed as the menu seemed quite appealing, unfortunately we will not be returning and will discourage others.

Very good food. Double Monster burger was easy work! Cheesy chips were inconsistent though.

Ordered take away via Just Eat. The food arrived quickly and lovely and warm, the portion size was excellent however found one of the burgers without cheese and extras called up to sort this out and was yelled at by the chef until i proved with a photograph to a very nice mediating manager after about an hour a replacement was sent out with us both haven not eaten and waiting had to reheat mine but at least the right order came and it was a nice as we hoped would go back but worried in case this happens again.

£8.50 (the same as it would have cost to eat in) for what the friendly helpful receptionist waitress and chef told me would be a hearty juicy tasty burger covered in a fiery chilli beef mix with fresh salad in a huge sesame bun. It sounded great and I was promised it would be double wrapped in foil, then paper and in a lovely brown paper carrier. I was the only person in the restaurant despite it being after 8pm on a Thursday after pay day. The polite lady was doing everything. I smelt no grill of frying pan nor the ping of a mw. After maybe only 8 minutes she reappeared and assured me it would stay 'hot' for my 5 minute drive home. Opening up there was very little smell. The large bu maybe 8" or more diameter was neither soft nor leathery and was ominously cold. There were fresh thick cut tomatoes and onion and perfectly crisp lettuce but sadly the burger was a large disc possible 1/4" thick and seemed to be very flat pressed minced beef. On top was some spicy hot chilli mix maybe a small cupful but tepid. I cut the 3 or 4" high bun into five to make it manageable but having found the first portion just warm and the second cooler and the bun itsel almost chill ....the whole experience was offsetting my hunger and I struggled with the cold beef disc and sauce. It plainly wasn't hot enough at any stage, the salad made it colder, all round a waste of time and money. A lesson learnt. An otherwise empty restaurant, a commercial property agent's sale sign on the building and the Notte Inn on the ground floor below. I can't recommend this place.

We've had a couple of take-away orders from Mo's Diner. Both times the burgers were really really great. The menu has a good selection and offers something different - I can personally recommend the Indian burger. The only slight gripe is that our orders took a little longer than advertised when ordering through Just Eat, but we understand that we were ordering at what was probably a peak time so can't expect it to be too speedy. Overall I would definitely recommend! Very good value too.

Woooo,the most delicious burgers you can find in Devon with a lot of different choice on beef burgers and lot more to order. definitely one of best Diners in Uk . highly recommended.

Upstairs above the Notte Inn where several different restaurants have come and gone. They now do not just beef but a selection of exotic animal burgers.

Many restaurants have occupied this first floor space over the last couple of decades, several like the latest venture having a connection with the pub/bar below where you can chose to eat your food. Beware the long steep narrow up from the road level but once you get there the room is open light and relaxed, still with the cool wooden panelling of a predecessor. It's now described as a diner, specialising in burgers, mostly local beef with burgers said to be made fresh daily, there is also an option for 'exotic burgers' made from crocadile, zebra, ostrich, water buffalo and wild boar. Not quite unique in Plymouth because other places have recently followed the same path, not least the neighbouring business at the Barbican Brazzerie. I'm not sure that the general formula appeals but there are some positives not least that this place is up and running again, being very close to the main drags of nightlife on the Parade and Southside Street. Prices are average and on our night the staff were friendly and keen to please. It's not entirely new, we were told it opened at about the beginning of June. There is a social media page and you can order online. They certainly do takeaways, I don't know if they deliver.
