Morrisons Supermarket in Maldon

Called in today for breakfast, not been in here for a very long time as previously they were having staffing issues. Well today there was four members of staff all working hard, food and drinks ordered collected our drinks and sat down. Food arrived in a timely manner all correct and tasted lovely, nothing not to like. To sum up, friendly helpful staff, nice food and drinks at a reasonable price, venue was clean nothing not to like well worth a visit.

Absolutely disgusting. Food all over the floor tables dirty. And don’t mention the so called hot drinks machines. Swimming in muck and dirt. Wish I’d never bothered. The worse ever.

Totally gross 💩 smell in the cafe by the hot drinks machines along with a tonn of flies. Asked to speak to manager about it as surely health and safety issue here and they won't come to speak

We had never eaten in Morrisons cafe at MALDON before and as it appeared almost empty we got served quickly. After paying at the till for our breakfasts we quickly realised why there was a lack of customers. ALL the Cutlery was unbelievably dirty, the condiments area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We sat at a table and realised it hadn’t been cleaned properly either. While waiting for our food to arrive I tried to clean the cutlery we had with hand sanitiser I had. I ran my finger nail up the fork and a small roll dirt came off !! I complained to a member of staff that all the cutlery was dirty and she said “ it’s cos the dishwasher isn’t working properly “ UNBELIEVABLE!! She took my cutlery from me disappeared out of view, returned a few minutes later and gave me back the cutlery only SLIGHTLY cleaner than before. We then waited 32 minutes for our breakfast, which was cold and poorly cooked. Returning home I have read past negative reviews dating back years. Sad I didn’t read them before we went, as this restaurant definitely needs to be checked for their hygiene standards or more correctly lack of them !! DISGUSTING !!

Supermarkets are Supermarkets. There are 2 main things I find annoying. [1] the store in Maldon Essex stays open late but tonight as normal from around 6pm the Deli bar and Butchers are closed. I don't often use the butchers but don't like the idea if plastic covered pre-packed cook meats such as Ham. Much prefer the fresh cut meats [2] in my opinion the gents toilets are absolutely disgusting. They smell like a sewage farm, the radiator is rusty, the woodwork at the bottom of the urinals has just about rotted away and the decor looks like the original. Come on Morissons revamp the toilets and improve on the air quality !!

Highly publiside Easter meal for 6 £24:00 we arrived at Elland Morris ons to purshase this deal although signage on site advertised the above but no one knew. anything about it had it not been for staff member Christine and a butcher we would have not got this deal come on Morris ons communicate

Went to have breakfast here today and have to say it was the worst breakfast I have ever had! To start with, all the cutlery looked dirty and I ran ours under the hot water tap meant for tea to clean it. When the breakfast arrived, my small breakfast was served on what I can only describe as a side plate, with a slice of toast on top of it all, the egg was burnt underneath and the beans were awash with tomato sauce and had a horrible taste and the entire breakfast was lukewarm. This has to be the worst breakfast I have ever had. No wonder the place was quite empty!

Unbelievably bad. Ordered two jacket potatoes and two coffees. No clean cutlery to be found, Tables piled high with dirty plates and cups. It took 40 mins for the food to be delivered by a rude grumpy waitress. No apology. People wandering round asking for cutlery and teaspoons ignored. One male behind counter dropped something and came out with a string of ‘F’ words. Hardly any sandwiches or cakes for sale. A complete shambles.

Went to Morrisons on Tuesday and decided to try their salad bar. Big mistake. Been off with food poisoning for the last two days. I know it was the salad that has made me ill as that was all I had eaten. Never again.

Where to start orderd 4 breakfasts after 40 minutes recieved 2 luke warm breakfasts, asked for the rest of the order to find it had been not ordered correctly and therefore had 2 children with no food. A manager came to do nothing he was a complete wet lettuce no attempt to make the situation right just issued a refund no apology couldnt care less. I would highly recommed avoiding this place like the plague. Management need to work on there people skills instead of hiding in the kitchen avoiding confrontation. And maybe an apology and an attempt to make it right wouldnt go a miss.

There were dirty tables full of previous customers food all over at least 15- 20 tables, we waited almost 45 mins for our 2 salads which looked like they were thrown on the plate, the whole attitude of the lady who prepared the meals was I’ll do it when I feel like it , who ever the manager is should certainly not be , everything from dirty tables to no food left on the shelves, literally 2 baguettes to choose from, so we opted for a salad and they only had 6-8 lots of customers , to the manager of the actual store, you need to fire the cafe manager, it’s an awful experience , that I shall certainly not repeat

If you go shopping to Morrison's why not pop into their cafe for a break. They have a good selection of food on their menu for you to choose from. It is all freshly cooked & very tasty & can be purchased for a very reasonable price.

Went there today before going shopping, staff were clearly stressed and under staffed. Waited ages to be served quee was very long. Once that was sorted out we sat down at our altercated table after collecting our drinks and waited for our food to arrive. Food was to a good standard all tasted good and was nice. No mistakes and was hot. Not sure why but we were given plastic folks which were as good as useless and broke when trying to use them, this was very annoying it was odd as we had metal knifes and spoons. Also you could help yourself to sugar but had to ask for salt vinegar and sauces again this meant the staff had to go and get them for you making them work harder, seems rather silly. Overall the food was good but the experience not so good and a bit stressful.

Tried morrisons almond milk the other day. I have two words for it! Absolutely disgusting! Now for the details. Apart from the fact that it curdled in tea and coffee, it tasted of chalk. Awful! Never again. Nothing like the original Alpro almond milk. A word of advice morrisons, if you want to copy something, at least try and do half a decent job.

No mention of the Corona virus or hand gels anywhere considering food was ordered via self service touch screen, waited an eternity for simple egg chips and veggie sausages,chips were the worst we have ever tasted being cold as were the beans so we ended up warming our food In the babies milk warming microwave. Staff appeared uninterested and abrasive. It's only a supermarket cafe but food and service is not really worth the money and time it takes

Went in this morning to do some shopping and my wife treated me to breakfast before we walked around. Used the touch screen which was simple to use and no hassle. Went and got our coffees while waiting for our food again simple to use. When food arrived all correct, hot and tasted nice served by friendly helpful staff. Nothing not to like, also new chairs are very comfy which is better than some restaurants I have been in.

This supermarket is well laid out, clean and has helpful staff. The breakfast is not so clever and seems to have reheated food in the main rather that freshly cooked items. I enjoy shopping here and always look out for the specials, as there is normally a very good range of items that are on trial or special offers.

We stopped here for breakfast and I had the breakfast omelette, with mushrooms and baked beans. Beans were cold and the rest was ok, Coffee just about drinkable but out of a machine so I suppose you cant expect much more.Staff were polite and helpful and they were the best part of the breakfast.

Just had a breakfast at morrisons...shoe leather bacon, rubbery eggs, took ages, asked for no tomatoes so hence we got tomatoes and to top it off the toast was free with the breakfast buttered but if you wanted just the bread and butter you have to pay! Never eat there again!

We shop at Morrisons in Maldon on a regular basis & once we have parked the car we always go to the restaurant first for something to eat. My wife usually has a meat free breakfast & I have a big breakfast & we both have coffee. The staff there are very friendly & once we have placed our order & taken our number we normally only have to wait a short while before the food & drinks arrive. The food is normally well cooked & very tasty, the coffee is good too, after which you are ready to shop.

Morrisons supermarket (and cafeteria) used to be cheap - good value. Now it's as expensive as the rest of the big chain corporations. It seems the bigger and more profitable you get, the more you want,, if you're a corporation owner....About two years ago Morrisons in-store bakery shifted from using white baking flour to floor sweepings. That's the only explanation I can give the change in bread quality - the stuff they bake in the store. It's awful, powdery, tasteless stuff and even when you throw it to the birds they turn their beaks up at it. Let's face it, with the multiple millions Morrisons rake in each year, if they can't even bake a loaf of bread worth a.....crust, then they clearly aren't worth the bother. Even Asda aka Wal-mart can do better.

Popped in this morning with my wife for breakfast. We both had the big breakfast and a coffee, food was to a good standard and was brought to our table in about 10 minutes after order taken.No complains not fine dinning but a good place to stop for something to eat without getting ripped off.As this is our local supermarket we will be back, friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price.

After waiting 15 mins still hadn't arrived so I walk to the till to ask where it was and was told they were still waiting for it to be made when I could clearly see it sitting on the shelf behind them !?! No, it's not a 5* restaurant, but for the price you pay it's good. Wide range of dishes,drinks and snacks. They even have a special area just for children's food. It gets busy, but the staff are polite and the food is piping hot when it gets to you.

After shopping here me and my toddler popped in for lunch. I had my usual bangers and mash and my son had nuggets, mash and beans. Good tasted great and was a good price. They need to bring back the tray trolley that they used to have as I hate leaving plates on a table.

Went here for lunch twice in the last two weeks while i was off work with my wife and mother.Food was of a good standard friendly service no problems what so ever. They even went and got some black pudding of the shelf for me, cant say fairer than that.

This supermarket is close to my home within a few minutes by car, so very convenient. Good selection of food especially since they have opened the new section for so many fruits and vegetables. Fairly priced

Heard some good reviews of Morrison's Cafe (from family members and friends alike) but have to say wasn't impressed by the length of time we were made to wait at the till to be served or to receive our heated up jacket potatoes (50mins). We wasn't the only customers who were unhappy with the service on the day either. It was after lunchtime so no excuses about being rushed off their feet. All I know is, the service was lousy, the food not brilliant and after a complaint to Morrison's Facebook page, im hoping (fingers crossed) that if there's ever a time i find myself in this cafe again that the service and food will be much better!Also would be a good idea to provide a tray stacking trolley for customers to place their trays when finished eating, certainly looks better than messy tables.

Well laid out, very good selection of fresh fruit and veg. Excellent range of fresh fish and meat and very good selection of continental cheeses and cooked meats.Good bakery and fresh desserts.In general, you can find everythink for a decent dinner party, prices are competetive and you can end your shopping trip with a very low cost quality meal in their pleasant restaurant.It makes the Maldon Tesco look very lacklustre by comparison.

First time back since refit food well cooked very good value new seats great staff friendly and helpful. Small minus slow to clear tables and nowhere now to self clear any more. Well worth a visit one of the best supermarket resturants I've ever been to.

Visit Morrison's on a regular basis for food shopping but every now and then me the wife and boy will go at weekend to have a fried breakfast. Since they have redeveloped the cafe its even better more choices, quick friendly service at reasonable price.

I like the prices, the choice of the fresh meat, vegetables and fruits. It has friendly atmosphere. Sometimes the fish-meat counter has unpleasant odeur. After the reconstruction the shop is very good and the prices are better than in Tesco.

They are going through major expansion and are coping very well, looking forward to the finished store.

We only have 2 main supermarkets in Maldon and this one is having a makeover in order to offer more variety. Friendly staff and hopefully this will mean checkout is faster
