We had breakfast on two occasions Sat 17th Feb and Sun 18th Feb 2024. My breakfast on the 17th was an 'English Breakfast' (didn't want square sausage) with a poached-egg. The breakfast was generally OK however, the poached was rubbery and the yolk over cooked. The tomato was almost uncooked but the hash-browns were nicely cooked. My wife had poached-eggs on toast which had been tortured in a similar manner to mine. On our second visit on the 18th we gave up waiting to use the single self-select terminal and ordered at the till. Unfortunately, we didn't realise that lorne-sausage is the terrible square-sausage. The tomato was virtually fresh from the vine, the beautiful field-mushroom was partially cooked the fried egg over-cooked and crispy at the edges. The tattie scones were tasty but overall it grieved me to see poor cooking and low standards prevailing. The staff were very friendly but the cook in the kitchen needs to be properly trained or moved to the checkout.

The staff were hattered from lunch hour rush (this was 1.45) and I hat to cooee into the kitchen to get service. Lovely lady came through obviously exhausted. I was having coffee and cake and she explained that the machines were out of service - waiting on new machines since before Christmas. There was a jar of instant but difficult to work out what to do if it’s your first time. Coffee free though so that’s great.

Terrible breakfast, very disappointing. Poorly cooked bacon, potato bread overcooked, beef squares tasteless and poor presentation with a slice of toast sitting on top of a pot of cold beans. Been in loads of Morrisons for breakfast where breakfast is excellent.

Since last visit, noticed it has been given a refresh and relocation. Friendly staff but just your typical Morrisons cafe you could find anywhere.

All I can say is £8.99 for two courses and a drink is good.. even better when the food is absolutely fabulous and the staff serving are lovely... yes it might be a one off but guess what, more than happy to give it a try again!

I often sit in Morrision for a coffee or on a few occasions have a small breakfast. The young staff are helpful, kind and sometimes overworked. This I can say, they do with a smile... The coffee is good and value for money.. I find it a bit 'sad' some customers don't clear their cups, plates and their rubbish. More work for the staff...

We've used the cafe several times; the food is generally okay, some of the staff quite friendly and helpful (others quite surly), but levels of cleanliness never brilliant. We shopped in the store yesterday and, as the cafe was quiet, decided to stop for a coffee. 1. I had to go through 6 trays before finding one that looked like it had been wiped since its last use - a couple were really filthy 2. The coffee machine had dried on residue on the metal dispenser 3. The table in fornt of the cutlery etc. was badly marked with dried on coffee stains and spillages 4. Our table looked like it had been wiped since last use, but to a very poor standard - streaky, bits of sugar etc. 5. Many of the tables were littered with debris from previous customers - clearly no one had attempted to clean them 6 The floor was littered with crumbs etc. 7 The only rack for clearing trays was behind the counter and hardly any space free

We dropped into Morrisons Cafe for a quick breakfast before catching the ferry to Belfast. We ordered via the touch screen menu. The food was a bit slow, but they were busy, and we were in a hurry. We were also a party of 6, so that probably slowed it down as well. The food was good value, generous and no one is ever disappointed with bacon and eggs.

Visited Morrisons Restaurant Stranraer September 2022 . Food was fine & reasonably priced. Loses two stars for the rather fierce little lady who served us & hovered over the restaurant like a hawk (Was told by a waitress that she was the manager!) Innocently went to use the coffee machine to top up but was sternly told off by the manager that top ups were not allowed ! She snatched the cup from my hand and stormed off like a demented cat ! The waitress commented that she was always that rude ! The same lady then gave off to one of our party at another table about coffee top ups not being allowed and mumbled something else under her breath as she scurried away! ( Perhaps she was just having a bad day) I certainly would not have this lady working with the public, she clearly needs training with regards customer service! It was actually quite amusing in the end, it was like a bad cafe comedy sketch !

I am bemused as how people can pooh pooh this cafe. Dropped in for coffee and cake after a shopping session and have to say the coffee and cake were both excellent and well priced - £3 for coffee and a generous piece of cake.

Called in for coffee and a bite, All I wanted was a ham sarnie, one left and it was falling to pieces, I asked if there was another only to be told we don't make them so that's it. The server then just walked off without giving me chance to ask anything The wife wanted Butter with her scone but trying to get someone to ask was difficult. Was told quit abruptly that any coffee would take a few mins as the machine was cleaning. (Lunchtime?) 20 mins later after eating our lite bite the manager brought our coffee. The service was rubbish, the attitude of staff very unhelpful and the food was pretty bad to, all in all an unpleasant visit. The place was very clean and the manager seemed to be doing most of the front house work.

We ordered breakfast and the service was SLOW. When it finally arrived there were items missing. We queried that and were told they had run out. Not told that when we ordered it OR offered to swap items for what they did have. Just charged full price and items missing! Bacon looked like it had spent 30 seconds under the grill. Remember this is a supermarket so how do they run out of breakfast items! Total joke. I would seriously look elsewhere for breakfast.

I used to like visiting here but it is going downhill fast. The man on the counter was the most miserable person i have ever seen,he didn't smile once and was quite abrupt in his manner. This could have been due to him being alone at the counter doing everything whilst 3 staff members worked the drive thru.Service was really painfully slow even when another employee started helping. The entire restaurant was filthy,no tables were being cleaned and there was rubbish all over the floor.I probably won't return to this branch.

Didn't like the fact there was a small dog in the bar. Not that I don't like dogs I just thought they shouldn't ve allowed in there on a busy Saturday night when the misc was blaring and people were drunk. The poor little dog looked terrified and I had to leave because it was upsetting me. My dog would of been scared too. Its no place for a little dog when people are pissed, dancing, shouting ect it's just not fair on them at all

If I could give zero stars I would. Cold food, bacon, lorne sausage over cooked and dry and as for the tattie scone I couldn't get the fork in to it not cut it with a knife. Avoid at all costs

I have reviewed this Restaurant as part of the Galloway Arms Hotel, so this will hopefully clarify the earlier reviews. We have been on a number of occasions since the last review and we have not been disappointed with the food at the Nine Mile Bar & Bistro within The Galloway Arms Hotel. On this visit we chose two times Two Course Specials priced at £14.50 each. The Starters were battered Chicken Goujons, which was quite a large portion and Tempura coated Prawns. Both dishes were very good and the Chicken alone would have been enough for my Wife as a main course. (Small Eater). My Wife had the Beef Stroganoff and I had the Salmon in Dill sauce for the main courses. Normally, we tend to have just the main courses and therefore we had to take home the chips, which were provided along with the Stroganoff half & half. A pint of Moretti is £3.50 and a large Chardonnay is £5.00 and the total bill without tip came to £37.50. The surroundings in the Hotel's main bar is simple, but cozy. A 10 minute drive from Dumfries gets you to this Hotel and I think that it is worth this very small effort.More
