Morrisons Glenrothes Cafe in Fife

Dear God. Didn’t think this place could get worse but it has. Not enough staff, tables not cleared, no water in hot water urn, no clean mugs, no milk in coffee machine and the one poor staff member totally run off his feet trying to cope eventually collapsed with the stress of it all. Ambulance was called so I do hope the poor man is okay. Absolutely appalling that Morrisons management have let this go on for so long! Staff your cafe or shut it down!! We sat for an hour and a half and dud not receive our order especially after staff member collapsed. Werent offered a refund as till couldn’t be opened???? But were given a had written credit note for a free meal next time. After a second disastrous visit to this cafe I’m not sure I would return again!! Management get it sorted!!!

Really disappointing decline. Firstly we waited an age for food tea was stone cold when it did arrive. Menus were grubby and sticky and generally the food was really bland and tasteless. Used to be a decent clean wee cafe.

I ordered the Sunday roast beef and my wife the roast chicken dinner. My roast beef consisted of two piece's of meat both approximately 5 inches long and 1 inch wide and half an inch thick nothing like the slices shown on the menu both pieces were hard and dry and the vegetables were cold and overcooked. The roast chicken, again was nothing like the photo on the menu my wife had this meal on our last visit and it was a half chicken with vegetables today she was given two small dried out chicken fillets a stuffing ball that was rock hard and the other vegetables were overcooked and cold. We have shopped for many years at Morrisons and have used the cafe many times but today's experience was terrible. I returned the roast beef and reordered fish and chips and I am pleased to say was excellent. The waiter was very obliging and helpful. This was the cafe in Morrisons Glenrothes.

Arrived today for breakfast. Asked for Gluten free menu, they don't cater for Gluten free people. They have a full aisle of free from food but don't make food in restaurant . Absolutely rediculous. Anyway ordered bacon hash brown scramled egg and mushroom cost nearly £4.50. You get a full breakfast for £6 ish and its a full plate. Not at all happy. The girl at the checkout didn't know if there was Gluten free.

Terrible place ignorant staff, also this Romanian bugger been outside this place for over 4 years hello hello hello, my partner refuses to go bk because of this guy I am not going back ever avoid at all costs...

Paid by the screen at the doorway to the restaurant, then waited 15 minutes to be called for 2 cups of tea. 10 minutes later my bacon roll turned up. Bacon cold and the rolls seem to have been cut in half since last visit! Very poor service because of the tea/coffee debacle that has replaced self service

Went for lunch with my daughter and decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon tea. Unfortunately this came in a pre packaged plastic box rather than on plates, there were only 3 sandwiches, prawn, egg mayo and cheese. The prawn one didn't taste right so was left, the egg mayo was OK and the cheese looked like it had been sitting out for a while. All the sandwiches had also taken on the flavour of the madeira cake, that was also in the box. There was a good selection of cakes (choc brownies, madeira and fairy cakes as well as scones) but I'd have preferred more (and better) sandwiches and less cake. The cafe was very short staffed and there seemed to only be one poor woman running between the till taking orders and the drinks counter which meant there was quite a delay in getting our pots of tea. I've eaten in morrisons before and usually their food is OK but the afternoon tea isn't good value and was very disappointing.

Excellent breakfast, quality good, service good. £10 for two people including coffee and toast, what's not to like. Will definitely return.

Came in for breakfast, ordered via touch screen. No drinks turned up with breakfast, husband went to get them and was told - you'll have to wait!! Should all the order not come out together?? Meals were finished and still waiting on drinks!!!! Staff serving folks coming in after us, and still no hot drinks! Paid £20 for 2 breakfasts and hot drinks! Very poor. Won't be back

Popped into the cafe after doing our weekly shop. Ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious. Better than many of the local chippies in Glenrothes- and can’t beat the price. Might go for the mini fish and chips next time as regular was a huge portion. Lovely. Will definitely be back again to try more on the menu. Such value for money, and a lovely chap was working on the cafe till.

Me and family was travelling and decided to make a stop at this Establishment when we came in the place was very inviting and clean we spoke with the tender as we was going to go for the cooked breakfast but not a fan of Scottish sausage so asked if they could replace for a normal sausage which they were happy to do. When we went to order we then saw a sign that said roast dinner which grabbed our attention so we decided to go for that instead. Now unfortunately when our dinner got to our table we were less than impressed with the packet mash and the RAW carrots that you could of easily smashed a window with. This was taken away and given a refund for which I was happy with. Then they also messed up a simple burger and didn't put condiments in it, this was taken away and not seen again until a manager came to speak with myself alongside security, we were then refunded the burger aswell because by this time I was very disappointed with the whole service and it really let the restaurant down. Did try to speak with the chef but she refused to come out. All in all im really not happy and the only saving grace was the manager being understanding in the end and gave the children a free cake each to apologise further. Morrisons if your staff can not cook carrots then they shouldn't be in your kitchen cooking the food its going to end in disaster.

As regular customers we were disappointed with the new menu and portion size also not serving pudding anymore food was good staff very friendly and helpful as always and paying same price for less .We also last week had the new breakfast again very disappointed price same but less and less choice we are well known in the cafe for having our breakfast before doing our shopping not happy with the changed menu

I dont often write reviews but my experience of the Afternoon Tea Deal was outstanding. The sandwiches, pork pies, cakes and dessert were all freshly made and totally delicious. I bought it as a birthday treat and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything. It was also fantastic value. I highly recommend it.

We had macaroni cheese .i would not recommend as was pretty bland .sandwiches were okay .but based on price I suppose you only get what you pay for .food was hot tea and coffee fine

Thought I had treated myself to a Vegan sausage sandwich..... Wish I had taken a picture. When opening the sandwich the sausages were literally swimming in clumps of sunflower spread. Needless to say I sent it back, The only saving grace was the coffee... to say it came from a machine tasted good

We have stopped coming here due to the cleanliness of the place, whether it’s the tables, chairs, cutlery or mugs. Every time we visited there was never a clean table to sit at.

Don’t like the new ordering system. Last time they never had half of what I ordered and when I did have my salad it wasn’t very fresh so I didn’t eat much of it. This disappointed me as I used to like the selection and food on offer.

We have, in the past three years, eaten two breakfasts at Morrisons stores in Helensburgh and Johnstone. Both were dreadful. Thus, we were hesitant about trying our luck in yet another of their stores. However, we were in St. Andrews, where car parking can be a challenge, and so we decided it was worth the risk since we were already in Morrisons doing our grocery shopping. My wife had gammon steak with chips, half a tomato and a fried egg. The egg was neither greasy nor rubbery as in the other Morrison stores. In the St. Andrews store it was cooked to perfection with a lovely runny yolk and the chips (French fries to those unaccustomed to UK parlance) were clearly served right out of the deep fat fryer. They were hot and tasty. I had a blob of congealed scrambled egg, which rather let the side down, with hot, tasty baked beans and bacon. So, the overall experience was very good. Well done St. Andrews Morrisons. Perhaps Morrisons should send your chefs to teach the others in the chain how to cook a decent breakfast.

Would never expect much from a supermarket cafe but it's a genuinely great cafe. Come in fairly often through my work supporting individuals out to do shopping. The cafe is great for wheelchairs. The hot food is great, I struggle to not order the chicken...

Have eaten here several times and the choice and quality is always good. Breakfast is great and the choice for the rest of day ranges from sandwiches to cooked meals all at reasonable prices. Hot or cold Drinks are also available.

Good choice of food served by friendly staff, we use Morrisons regularly as the food is good and reasonably priced.

This cafe is ok when staffed correctly, unfortunately there always seems to be a problem with the self serve coffee machines, coffee never hot. The food is nice and hot food is made to order.

an efficient and friendly cafe. Lots of selfservice - you have to do your own teas and coffees. Cooked food can be a little slow to arrive especially at busy times but is usually well prepared and presented.

My husband and I had breakfast rolls and tea .very quick service as there was no queue and served almost immediately. Really enjoyed our food.

Bern here a few times now for breakfast and have no complaints. Bit of a wait if it is busy but as it is all cooked fresh it's understandable.

This Morrisons Cafe is excellent and although you may have a longish wait at times, you are told about this. All the food I've had there is tasty and great VFM. I can recommend their breakfasts, chicken pie, Mac cheese, fish and chops.

We used to enjoy this Cafe for our evening meal, but have noticed the waiting times getting longer and the quality of the food going down hill! We were given a waiting time of 50 minutes although the Cafe was not unusually busy.Tables still littered...

It is what it is at end of the day. Sometimes service can be very slow. One thing I never understand is the rubbish bit of fried bread with the breakfast.

Some members of staff are extremely obnoxious and incredibly snippy. Food often takes a lot longer than supposed waiting times. Meals are not brought put in numerical order. Meals are often barely warm. Tables often dirty. Understaffed and staff breaks take priority over customer service....

Two courses for £6 and three for £7. Good portions, lovely food and pleasant surroundings. I went twice during the festive period!
