Morrisons Cafe Chester in Cheshire West and Chester

Had to write a second review. This cafe seriously needs to be looked at by higher management. Went for breakfast with my son and ordered poached eggs on toast with beans. Waited over 25 minutes for food and when it arrived it was absolutely disgusting. Complained to the Manager who offered a refund. Went to get refund and supposedly the chef (use that term very losely) just shook her head and walked off. Did not care or even apologise. This place has gone down hill badly and will never eat at this awful place again.

Fancied a breakfast and a nice brew, tea was ok, breakfast mainly cold, wife tried 3 times with staff to make her latte but was cold too, so disappointed and I should of looked at the reviews first,won’t be returning for food anytime soon. 🙁

Absolutely terrible visit here yesterday (Sat 09 Dec 2023) Have been regulars for a long time. Used to be good to great until about 5-6 weeks ago. 09/12/2023. No standard sized Cod fillets for fish and chip lunch today or when last in 2 Saturdays previous (i.e. Sat 25/11/2023), Friend accepted Mini-Cod instead. I ordered 3 sausage, egg, chips and beans. Friend and my chips virtually luke warm-cold, fish barely cooked, peas inedible like dried out powdered mess. My sausages luke warm, beans stone cold, fried egg was ok. Most of the young staff were just wandering up and down with meals aimlessly, the assistant manageress was gazing into space as if day-dreaming, no structure/instructions/orders being given. All looked completely spaced out and dis-interested. When we had finished our near inedible meal, the Cafe Manager appeared, and was then making efforts by shouting out "orders please" to the glum looking staff. The only time the food is spot on is when Denise is cooking in the back, her fish and chip dinner is top-notch! Pull your socks up guys! It's a good job there wasn't a Food Hygiene Inspector present probe-checking the food thats all I can say! If it happens again Food Hygiene will be visiting!!! Take note...!

Last year, my wife and I had no kitchen for about 2 months while an extension was built onto our house. So we came to Morrisons Cafe about 3-4 times a week. Since our extension was finished, we have kept on coming back regularly as a result of the high standards of customer service and professionalism of the manager Sarah and her brilliant team, both front of house and in the kitchen. We will continue to come back regularly as the food is just the job after a hard day at work. The menu and environment are both very family friendly. So we are looking forward to bringing our grandchildren here well into the future. We strongly recommend this Cafe.

The food was lovely and the staff were very accommodating with my milk allergy. They had soya milk available, allergy guide on hand and able to swap items to make a meal I can have. They also helped my partner with swaps too. Very welcoming staff especially Megan

Visité el café de mi Morrison local por primera vez desde todo el coronavirus. Las mesas estaban sucias a pesar de que era de mañana, por lo que claramente no se habían limpiado desde el día anterior. Los cuchillos y tenedores estaban sucios, todavía tenían comida de alguien y se esperaba que me la metiera en la boca. Se suponía que los asientos debían estar separados por 2 metros, pero no fue así, así que tuve que pedir moverme a un área diferente. Y luego, cuando llegó la comida, el tocino frío como piedra parecía crudo, así que ni siquiera intenté comerlo. Supongamos que el servicio al cliente tampoco fue excelente. Con todo lo que está sucediendo en el mundo en el momento en que realmente necesitan intensificar la limpieza. Ciertamente no volveré a ir?

El café ha tenido poco personal para las últimas visitas. El 3 personal, naturalmente, no pudo hacer frente. Solo tenedores disponibles cubiertos sabios. Media hora de espera para la comida caliente. Casi ningún plato sucio se recogió de las mesas. No hay platos para pasteles. De hecho un desastre total. El gerente debe ser más práctico y trasladar al personal del área principal de la tienda para ayudar al café si hay escasez de personal. Una pena, ya que la tienda es generalmente buena.

Needed hot food and drink but visited at 4pm on a sunday whilst a family member was having surgery at the hospital. Hot food has finished but was very happy to get unlimited hot drinks for £1.90 each

We decided to get some breakfast before going to Liverpool by train. The light breakfast was absolutely delicious and it was no trouble to choose alternative items, the scrambled eggs were cooked spot on and the lady on the till was extremely pleasant and friendly, the new refurbishment certainly has made all the difference!

Desayunamos aquí en vez de pagar los precios de Premier Inn y fue tan bueno que comimos aquí dos veces. Hay una gran variedad de comida, desde cereales hasta desayuno inglés completo. Tuve los huevos Benedict una mañana, que era excelente y muy buena relación calidad-precio. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Nuestra única queja es que las mesas deben limpiarse con más frecuencia a medida que los clientes se van. Pero en general muy impresionado.

Comida casi fría. Artículos equivocados en la placa. La alergia a los huevos le dijo al personal, pero pusieron huevos fritos en un plato y me devolvieron la explicación de que yo era alérgico a los huevos. El plato regresó sin huevo y debajo de las papas había algo de huevo en el plato. No volvería de nuevo. También el café estaba Luke tibio.

Necesitaba un bocado sin sentido para comer y no podía molestar hacer cola o reservar para el almuerzo. Estaba haciendo una tienda rápida aquí y pensé por qué no comer aquí.Hacer pedidos a través de una pantalla táctil fue sencillo, pero parecía un desafío para los demás. Tener a alguien ayudando en la pantalla habría reducido las colas que surgían intermitentemente detrás de los novatos de TI.Para una cafetería hay una excelente elección en el menú y los asientos son adecuados.La comida estaba bien preparada y servida que realmente me sorprendió! Comí medio pollo asado y estaba perfectamente preparado y jugoso. . . . . . Con guisantes y patatas fritas para 4. 50 - ganga absoluta!Si bien no planearía un viaje específicamente para comer aquí, sin duda comería si el envío fuera a la hora del almuerzo.

Nice place to eat, very clean and staff polite, try fish and chips the batter is nice and thin and plenty of white fish, would recommend.

Stopped off here for lunch while nearby visiting a property. It’s a reasonably quite place considering it’s within the store. Nice staff who were happy to serve the regulars as well as the casual visitor. Nothing special on the menu but plenary of choice from hot food to sandwiches. The latter being very nice indeed.Noticed two adult meals plus up to 2 children’s meals plus drinks as a package at around 3pm to 4pm for £10, a bargain. So avoid these times as it must be rammed. Unless of course you are joining in.

Always super slow not worth the bother assuming you live closeby go home or Chatwins over the road instead.

Personal amable, sabrosos sándwiches y excelente café. Muy buena cafetería con una selección de comida caliente y fría, ideal para un descanso de las compras. Un gran inconveniente para mí fue la música ruidosa, la música debería estar relacionada con el cliente y ser de calidad, o no tener música alguna. Esto es terrible. La próxima vez traeré tapones para los oídos.

I love a breakfast at Morrison well priced plenty of food but as always takes ages if a few are in. they deal with any problems instantly. .

I have been in shops and Supermarkets all over Britain, but this is surely the best of all and a very pleasant and positive shopping experience. I you can't find what you want here, you'll not find it anywhere. And such a marvellous cafe with pleasant helpful staff. What a great place. Unfortunately I don't live in the area, so I can only visit now and again. Lucky folk who do.

A typical supermarket cafe, offering good food for a reasonable price. The friendly staff see to your every need.

Muy agradable tener un desayuno vegetariano completo que era tan bueno y proporcionado por un personal tan amable y servicial. Volvimos de nuevo durante nuestra estancia de agosto Bank Holiday en Chester porque era tan bueno, y el desayuno era igual de bueno 2ª y 3ª vez. Muchas gracias.

A menudo llama después de las compras y el personal está muerto. Es bueno que hayan hecho un pequeño espacio afuera para que te sientas afuera y tengas comida o bebidas.

Gracias Morrisons por mi regalo de cumpleaños. Vale para un desayuno gratis. Disfruté de un gran desayuno de papá. Demasiado grande para mi Compartido con mi esposa y traído un hogar. Morrisons Warrington estaba muy ocupado y el personal parecía abrumado. No sonreían demasiado y se les escapó. Mi desayuno de papá grande fue cocinado muy rápido y no grasoso. El personal dijo que estos grandes desayunos han sido quitados del menú, pero me cocinaron uno de todos modos.

Not really having much time to pop down into Chester we chose to pop into the cafe and have a quick lunch.

I imagine it can be busy during peak times but on the way home from work its nice and quite and very good value.

Tried eating at the cafe - but it's plagued by dreadfully badly behaved children who hang about outside and go into the cafe to makes as much disruption as possible

Great food, great choice, served piping hot served, nice staff, very good prices nice puddings overall very good

The cafe is clean and the staff helpful. A nice breakfast menu plus a good selection of sandwiches and pastries all at a reasonable price.

A great cafe with fast service and really good value choice of hot food. Convenient to shop and then have a meal in the spacious and pleasant cafe. Affordable and tasty stop off for all.

I often have breakfast here as they do a great range of items on toast as well as a full English Breakfast. Always good, so you can rely on it for quality. Very handy as you can then do your shopping here. Can get quite busy which is an indicator that other shoppers find it as good as myself .Highly recommended..

Dios mío, por favor, evita a toda costa. Copas sucias mesas pisos muy sucios todo sucio! ! Incluso un digester anaerobio evitaría este sitio! ! No puedo expresar con palabras lo sucio que estaba el café. Decidimos entrar y tomar un café mientras recogiendo algunas cosas en el supermercado. Qué chiste después de clasificar a través de las tazas para intentar encontrar uno limpio pedimos los jóvenes "smiler" en el hasta una broma sobre el smilier () dijo alguien podría traer otras limpias en breve. Espere 5 minutos tazas limpias obviamente disponible aquí, así que nos fuimos. Estoy seguro de que esto fue una bendición disfrazada. Mi marido no decir afortunadamente, el hospital está en el lado opuesto de la carretera con el mejor e. coli centro! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Si pudiera tener dar esta nada me hubiera hecho pero tienes que dar una puntuación de 1.

Always have ham /cheese omlette with chips when I visit, Service is quick , price is reasonable and omlettes are gorgeous and fluffy!

Cortado de con mi marido para un almuerzo rápido. Martes a las 12 horas. Me había olvidado de poner las patatas chaqueta! Nos enteramos 10 minutos después de que había pagado. Jackie salvó el día por ofrecernos algo fuera del menú o un espárrago y...

El servicio es siempre rápido y más personal era lo suficientemente amable. La comida estaba lo suficientemente caliente para comer, pero sólo si era rápido!

We sometimes take the kids for food after school. Today we were shopping at Morrisons and decided to get our kids something for tea especially as on school days kids eat free. It's easy for them to offer this though because, as with other visits before, there was a shortage of some of the meals on offer so one of my children had to choose something else from the menu. Not really good is it?The young lady that served me was very friendly, knowledgable and courteous so top marks there. Morrisons really need to look at their stock levels - we only ordered macaroni cheese and there was only one portion left!It's not like they'd have to go a million miles to replenish stocks is it? It's in a supermarket!The food itself is absolutely fine though and perfectly acceptable for a café.

Second visit, even worse than the first. Firstly a smile and a welcome from the staff would be nice. Not much chance of that though.The cafe was not busy but we waited ages for our food, burger and chips a simple meal or so we thought, not much could go wrong, or could it. After waiting a good 25 minutes, very hungry by then, the burger was like a hard frizbie, bread hard flat and dry and the chips not much better either. Politely returned the burger meal and asked nicely for another freshly cooked one, only to be told that's how it was meant to be. After waiting yet another 15 to 20 minutes the replacement burger and bun were not really much of an improvement on the first. Had to go and ask for milk for the teas because no one had bothered to check or refill, waited ages for the tubs to be refilled.While we were there three different tables sent their food back. Other table said they were going to complain to customer services, we did not bother because we had already wasted enough time there.Our first visit was at the beginning of July, our fish was all batter and of poor quality, but we thought perhaps we had perhaps chosen a bad day, so decided to give it another try. Service again was poor. Staff seem unhappy at their work. This place could be nice if all the problems were sorted. Unfortunately we wont be calling in there for something to eat again.

When my family and i visited this cafe for dinner at 5:00pm they said that they stopped serving hot food at 5:00pm this is appalling, right at the start of tea time when it will be the busiest for hot food i would think!!On top of this the staff were very rude and unfriendly and unpleasent about the situation. I can confirm i am never visiting this cafe ever again, this is shocking!

Not all chips as I had thought. I had a baked potato with chilli and the side salad was pleasant. My partner had a small breakfast which was enough for any reasonable appetite. Table had nt been wiped before the food came which I find annoying and the staff still look harassed and fed up. Reasonable value as not expensive. Handy if you are shopping and in a hurry.

I went with my little girl and she sees it as a real treat at tea time when she eats free and I just pay for my main course and drink. Always a lot of chips so I would not often go but good value for kids. Staff often over stretched and tables not always wiped which I hate. Not somewhere I would go with a friend to relax as noisy and seats not very comfortable.

I always divert here in favour of other local eateries - good service - used by a lot of locals who've discovered the secret of their food and drink at reasonable prices

Chilli and chips. The chilli tasted of nothing at all. There wasn't the tiniest hint of any sort of chilli spice and the chips were indistinguishable from cardboard. The cup of tea was OK as it was hot.

Although a new menu was boasted of, the fare was predictable and tired to the point of exhaustion. An overwhelming urge for simplicity and being in a hurry led to the order of sausage and chips with gravy. Three basic items. I repeat basic. Anaemic chips devoid of flavour.Sausages were equally bland and with a weird, mummified texture.Gravy. The only two feasible adjectives to describe it? Brown and runny. Forget flavour.I didnt expect much from a simple meal in a supermarket cafe, but I honestly thought I'd get better than this.
