We went for lunch but short of staff so they only offered breakfast waited a long time it was not too good have had much better in other Morrison cafe, poor service ,toilets were dirty and the servers were not a happy bunch it would have been better to say closed for now ,another bad review to go with all the others the manager should be ashamed thats if he can read 😢😢😢😢😢

Seems I was lucky as got pretty much what I wanted. Pre prepared cream tea for one. Did what it said on the box. Staff were a little slow in serving me and I have seen cleaner cups. Does sound like some of the locals are less happy with this café!

Empty cafe ghastly coffee very bad service,staff need to be motivated. Dirty coffee cups. Offers advertised on website no longer honoured, rip off. Even dirty toilets.

Large car park and bike racks available. Called in whilst visiting the town for a cup of tea and they had an offer on tea+slice of victoria sandwich cake. Great offer. Staff friendly. Attention needed to tables and drink making facilities, cultery needed wiping clean. (we called in two days and same comments apply). Second visit bacon butty and avocado on toast nice. "No poached eggs" I was told. I replied you have no eggs? "Yes but not poached" - it transpired they buy in poached eggs!!

A total disaster. We ordered everything online then we're told everything we ordered was unavailable, even though it was available online and on the machine in the restaurant! In the end we asked the server what they did actually have, and she laughed at us and said'No point in taking stuff off that machine as it puts it back on in half an hour ' When asked what I wanted I asked what they actually did have as there was no way of tell, this was followed by another tut. I was ready to walk out, but my wife is more forgiving and patient than I am. All this and the food hasn't arrived yet, God knows what that's going to be like. I regularly use Morrisons but will never use Taunton again, as they don't have anything and to be honest the staff couldn't care less. Update the food was average and on the dry side but still an improvement on the staff. Just the whole visit from a customer service point of view was a total disaster

Had breakfast and aunty had fish n chips. Cousin had overcooked fried eggs probably due to being kept warm under heat light. Mush peas were one solid lump & inedible. My bacon was dried out also had hard fried eggs, dried out baked beans, burnt toast. Enough staff but no one seemed bothered about doing their job, no motivation, no pride in their job. It’s 7degrees outside today and there was no need for the air conditioning to be on. My aunty froze and was so cold her hands were unable to function. We were unable to carry on into town as she was too cold. NEVER AGAIN

Half empty restaurant, long wait 30 minutes for food, this will be the last time I eat here. Nearly 40 minutes wait.

I generally visit the cafe once a week for a bite to eat in the hope something may have improved, and I have to say it’s such a terrible service now, before covid you could walk in and you’d have a quick service, hot food and a tidy cafe, and now you walk in and it’s just filthy, the tables aren’t cleaned, there’s nowhere to put your trays when you are finished with your meal, there’s never any cutlery/condiments/cups etc and sometimes the hot drinks machines don’t work, the amount of times you pick a cup up and it’s still dirty! There is ALWAYS a limited menu to just breakfast items and even then the food comes out cold and undercooked, yesterday we waited 45min for food and we watched 5 people go up and ask for refunds. I understand there are pressures, staff shortages etc but it’s just not acceptable, and when you highlight there’s a problem you get moaned at or given excuses and they really don’t like to give refunds! I’ve seen multiple people asked to leave because they’ve highlighted the concerns. Something really needs to be done to improve the service. What I will say is you can visit the Bridgwater store and their service is so much better, always clean and tidy, quick wait time and food is always hot!

Absolutely shocking! Went to the cafe for something to eat at lunch hour. Paid my money and 25 minutes later, no food arrives. Finished my drink and went up to ask for a refund. They plated up the food, but it was cold. The manager grumpily arranged a refund, but instead they double charged me. Lunch hour gone. Asked to speak to the store manager, who barely raised an eyebrow. Apathetic, passive staff. Poor training or over stretched. Really shocking lunch break on a busy day, courtesy of Morrisons. Worst still, they barely seemed bothered, manager included.

this was my first visit to this cafe - and my last. There was a screen at the entrance to the cafe that takes the order. I ordered coffee and toast and paid at the machine. No receipt was available so I had to rely on the waitress believing that I had paid for these items. She directed me to the coffee dispenser and said she would bring my toast to my table. 15 minutes later I enquired about my toast. I was told that other orders were being completed first. after 30 minutes I walked out. How long does it take to shove 2 slices of bread into a toaster??

We went into Morrisons cafe had a look at the menu went to till to order staf then showed me a piece paper only showing for items for breakfast . Very poor why didn't the close the menu . Crap service

Not been in for breakfast since 2019. The cafe was quiet for a Sunday morning, which is sad as it used to be very busy I ate two slices of black pudding, two fried eggs, baked beans, two slices of toast with butter and marmalade with a pot of tea for just over £6 The bread was a farmhouse type, huge slices. If anything the breakfast has improved because of the bread slices. I’m amazed at the great prices, the kind staff and wonderful food why this place has not started to buzz again with customers

We went to Morrison's cafe with a friend and my husband the fried bread was awful I had picked egg on toast the toast was toasted on one side and the eggs wasnts cooked my husband had toast but still not toasted on both sides it was awful taken my back they said I can another drink it's so bad won't go their again waste money

Not at all busy today 11th March just after 1:00 pm No trays had to request one. Hot food was stated as half hour delay, so we settled for latte and tea with cakes. Latte was not hot more lukewarm. Tea was OK. Drinks are self service and it needed two hot waters to almost fill teapot. Latte was approx 3/4 of a cup. Speed of delivery suggested a visit from Dynarod was needed. Looked for a table, all unoccupied tables had dirty plates and crockery on them Tables were filthy. One table beside us had some crockery cleared from it, some but not all. No one wiped tables. Apart from customers who having got their food / or drinks had to find somewhere acceptable to sit. Last time I will even think about going there. Wake up Morrisons. Absolutely disgusting.

Twice we have been in the restaurant for a snack and a main meal today. I will think more than twice before going again. All gone down the hill.

Awful - total waste of money. Ordered the "big breakfast" - first thing at 8am on a Saturday. The self serve cutlery was filthy - I had to go through dozens of knives and forks to find any that did not have dried on food and grease on them. Even then, the ones I found needed de-greasing on a knapkin. Food arrived with an apology that no black pudding was available - so I got an extra sausage. Apart from the fried eggs (which were OK) and the luke warm beans and tomato, everything else appeared to be deep fried. The plate was cold and the mushrooms actually chilled (not just cold - ie fridge temp). The fried bread and hash browns had been deep fried at low temp and saturated with oil (you could have squeezed the grease out of the fried bread and the hash browns were cold and soaked in oil). Bacon was rock hard (could have been cooked the day before). Beans were 30 deg C if that. Terrible. Never setting foot in there again!

My partner and I had the full english breakfast here. We did not enjoy the food at all. The eggs (both scrambled and poached) were overdone, the bacon was undercooked, chewy and very fatty, the bread had been fried rather than toasted, the black pudding was not nice at all and the mushrooms were presented as if they had been put in a microwave for 2 seconds. The only decent elements were the beans and hash browns. Come to think of it now, I think we were meant to get tomato as well but that wasn't on our plates. They also got the breakfast juice wrong and brought out orange when we had specifically asked for tropical. Neither of us finished our breakfasts (which is unheard of!) and I didn't even finish my cup of tea, we just wanted to leave. We gave the cafe a chance but we were thoroughly disappointed and it was not worth the money. We will not be returning and will stick to Weatherspoon breakfasts instead!

I ordered a breakfast and it was delivered to my table within 5 mins. However the member of staff did not use a tray and just dropped the plate in front of me. The scrambled eggs were cold as were the mushrooms. The fried bread was really hard. All in all it is only cheap food so my expectations were not high. Cooking food in advance is in theory fine if it remains hot and does not go rock hard. My advice only order things that they have to cook there and then.

Very friendly happy staff serving really nice breakfast and the have all the sizes of meal from small to kings size Papa meals really nice

Been for breakfast on several occassions, always very good and the portions are extremely generous. Not that I would attempt one on my own, but their Big Breakfast looks like it would feed four !!

This years offering is based more around some over powering bacon which leaves you not being able to taste the turkey or other ingredients. Couple that with the massive overuse of cranberry which leaves the feeling of a jam and bacon sandwich.

Came here for a family breakfast, I had a flying start one. My partner had the standard English and little one had a sandwich packed kids box which is always good for money. We must have came on a good day as the breakfasts were of good quality

We called in here for a quick lunch & were disappointed to find there was no hot water available for the tea & no attempt to provide it from the kitchen. Several people in front of us left when they realised this, but we wanted a meal so we stayed! The food was ok, though the peas served with our fish & chips looked a strange colour, as though they came from a tin. Not a good standard for a cafe within a store selling fresh food!The staff were doing their best to empty tables, serve food etc, but lack of boiling water for the tea didn’t make for a pleasant experience. I’m sure they could do better, though it seems it’s pot luck as to what greats you when you decide to visit!

Have been here before so should of known better to avoid the restaurant-However decided to give it another go and came for a breakfast.Ordered 3 breakfast's and a scrambled egg on toast.When ordering breakfast I asked for one breakfast without the fried egg-they said that as they were having technical difficulties they could not omit the egg (all they had to do was not put an egg on the plate) how difficult was this ?? However when we got our breakfast we did not get the specific breakfast that we had ordered also the fried bread was disgusting and was dripping in cold fat.The only thing that was right was the scrambled egg on toast which was stone cold and like rubber.I went and found the member of staff who had given us our order and complained that we had not been given the correct breakfast and I was not happy as the food was not edible.To cut a long story short all the food was collected and they recooked the order.All food came out fresh and hot which only goes to show that all the food is precooked and kept on a hot plate until ordered.I know that this is only a supermarket restaurant but you expect to get something you can eat - at the end of the day I spent £20 on a breakfast ,if you want people to come back you need to improve your service.

Morrison's cafe is cheap and cheerful. Staff are somewhat friendly, and will offer support if you ask for it.

Read previous bad reviews, but this was the most convienant place to fill up ourselves and the car before a long drive home. What a nice surprise, two big breakfasts delivered within 10 minutes by friendly staff. Bacon, sausage, mushrooms, egg, hash browns and beans, hot, nicely cooked and very tasty. Absolutely no complaints from us! Kept us going until we got home 7 hrs later!

Popped in with my daughter this evening for fish n chips n nuggets n chips. Always thought for £7/£8 for us both its great value for your cash n always enjoyed it.

Thank you for a fab brunch. Great value for money & tasty. The place was full when we arrived & had a lovely bustling atmosphere. Everyone seemed very happy around us too.

Went for breakfast. Order vegetarian without egg and bacon sandwich. Breakfast arrived with egg explained wouldn't be able to eat any of it as egg had touched other food lady said she would get me a fresh breakfast. Bacon in my son's sandwich was stone cold . Took sandwich back only to see the lady touching my food with bare hands. Gave her the sandwich and got her to touch bacon to confirm it was cold. Said she would get us a fresh sandwich. My breakfast arrived this time sausages were cold . Took it back girl at till looked atone and said "what". I explained this was the second breakfast brought out to me and it still wasn't right so wanted money back. Not an apology nothing. Just gave me money back and said nothing..My son's sandwich still wasn't hot. My now totally fed up. Found manager and he didn't give a monkey's. Never going there again.

we were having a very busy day so thought we would drop into morrisons for a quick bite to eat.What a shambles!!! The menu seemed ok so we went to till to place our order,we waited and waited and waited,even returned to menu board to make sure the place was still cooking.Someone eventually appeared from side door at snails pace and I asked if they were open,he came to till a few minutes later.I asked for a burger and was told bluntly "no burgers".Too much trouble to go to well stacked shelves and get some???Sorry morrisons,rubbish think I will get my burgers elsewhere from now on and cook them myself,very bad taste left from here

The food quality is awful. The bacon was undercooked and not separated properly so the middle was raw. The toasted tea cake was only toasted on one side. Who still uses UHT milk these days? Makes the tea taste gone off!! Customer service was non existent.

On a visit to Taunton we called at the café. On the first day we had breakfast and an evening meal. Second day we had breakfast there again. On arrival at the order point we were given a warm welcome by the staff. All meals were served very quickly after ordering and they were well present and piping hot. Ideal place to visit if you are just having a relaxing day in Taunton or gone to see a game of cricket. The cricket ground is just across the river from the café.
