Morrisons Cafe in Norwich

Terrible cafe. Sub had hardly any filling and looked like it was thrown together. No real milk only uht. Self service. No tea sooons.

I went on lunch at Morrisons on Sunday Morissons 4 Albion Way, Norwich NR1 1WR Amazon Worker marika nedzewic was unpleasant and aggressive to me. She was drunk.

What has happened to the cafe the food was cold the quality was very poor I just couldn't see the point in complaining the cafe used to be very quality

First time I had been in as not opened long .We had a lovely coffee and cheese scone..All home cooked .Really tasty ..Staff very nice and working very hard to make the cafe work as early days .The owner was there speaking to customers which made it nice ..to make sure every thing ok .Will go again and tell my friends ..Thankyou

The café at this Morrisons is now “self service”. This involves customers standing around just two “Place Your Order” screens trying to work out what they want and how to do it. I was behind two families that had occupied the two screens and were taking forever to place their order. There were also three people in front of me. After 10 minutes I gave up and left.

Luke warm bordering on cold omelette, chips and beans, lovely coffee though!

The staff are fantastic , considering the situation management have put them in. Total lack of staff I assume due to profit retention. The plates and cutlery are not clean. You can scrape the surface of plates to remove the staining. Tables are full of uncleared debris. Food is not too bad. Que’s are too long as till system is archaic and too many options being offered. Management need to get a grip of the restaurant as you will soon have no staff from what I witnessed.

I queued for over half an hour along with the other 3 people in the queue. When we eventually got served, I then waited a further half an hour for my toasted bacon sandwich. When it finally arrived it wasn’t toasted. It came back toasted but by then it had got cold. This place needs a manger to organise things. The ridiculous number system means the staff wander around with the food trying to find the right table, which means it arrives cold. My first and definitely my last visit to this cafe.

Questionable when staff say they don’t have poached eggs, but have fried… made me realise the eggs aren’t freshly made… Food is okay, cheap for a quick lunch, although ‘quick’ isn’t the right word if it seems like they’re reheating pre-cooked eggs. Place is dirty, as pictured sat next to almost a hundred dead flies. Update: after a new menu change and price increase, I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning

Cold beans, undercooked mushrooms, hard hash browns. Very dissapointed especially after having a 5* breakfast and service at Morrisons Cromer a fortnight ago.

Wow - so so so ver very very slow

Rude & miserable staff. Waited 30 minutes for a sausage bap and bacon bap. Not busy at all in the cafe but staff were more busy in standing around chatting. Multiple unclean tables. Very slow service. Politely asked a member of staff if they could check on our food and got told “I can’t make it come any quicker” after having waited 30minutes for 2 simple baps. Suddenly the food appeared. Cold bacon and Luke warm sausages. A very disappointing visit today

I hadn't eaten in a Morrisons cafe for years and now I remember why I haven't, had a full English breakfast and firstly the plate was cold, beans cold, mushroom cold, hash browns warm, bacon warm and looked anaemic, egg over cooked, tomato cold but the sausages and the toast were spot on, so it looks like I will not be eating in a Morrisons cafe for another number of years.

If I could give less than one star for food I would. It can’t be that coincidence that the last times I had lunch there within 10 mins I was having the runs. The bacon is just terrible , microwaved and nasty! Won’t be going back there again.

We waited over 30 mins for a jacket potato. We wanted a cheese and backed been, and ironically that had no cheese!

Ordered jacket potato with cheese and beans had no cheese yet the shelves were stacked with cheese, long wait for the food.

Turned up to a packed Norwich cafe on match day. Not only did the staff cope as well as they could with a huge gathering of hungry thirsty customers, the manager was fantastic. Even managed to rustle up a bacon butty extremely quickly for a starving 11 year old for free, made his day. The finishing touch was when they got the customers to give three cheers for the massively over worked staff. Well done all involved.

£6 for a full English breakfast. The cutlery wasn’t the cleanest probably due to it being washed in a dishwasher then just put back out. However, we did find clean cutlery. The tables and chairs weren’t the cleanest. Could do with more staff to manage the area. Food is bought to your table. Staff were friendly and prompt. The food came slightly cold as it pre-made up like a Buffett in back then just dished up by request. However, £6 for a full English is reasonable. Food was alright. Would I recommend yes if you’re shopping in there and have time for a breakie.

Have come twice in the last month and we won't be returning! Staff friendly enough,the few there are. Both times there were no clean or clear tables. Neither times was it busy. After 2pm. The meal we ordered first visit took well over 30 minutes. Whilst waiting for our food we watched as staff walked past full tables of dirty plates etc.. The food, burger and chips, was cold, we had no time to complain. Sadly the same second visit was no different..we didn't bother with food, but had to wait 10 minutes to be pay and be served 2 coffees.. on a dirty tray. I asked for the dirty table to be wiped. Having worked in hospitality industry the whole set up is poor. Unclean, dirty tables, cutlery not washed properly, trays for cutlery and customers grotty. Food display a mess...poorly presented, sandwiches poor selection. Toasties and chips only hot food available.

Ordered two breakfasts at 8 . 45 am when food arrived the beans were cold the sausage was cold the bacon seemed under cooked the fried egg was covered in cooking oil . Spoke to the staff member at the till she didn’t seem to bothered she said I will tell the chef it seems they can mess up a breakfast after only being opened 3 quarters of an hour .

Revolting under- cooked egg,the tomato and mushroom were raw, coffee cold ,table dirty. Service a shambles.Waited 25 minutes for that rubbish. Never again,which is a shame as we love Morrisons and my mother was a shareholder. Place was empty,shame I didn't read the other reviews before going.

Please please stay away from this place. Wish I’d read reviews on here first. My husband visited on 30th September and contracted food poisoning as confirmed by NHS 111. Out of action for nearly 4 days. Couldn’t even go to work. When we contacted Morrison’s on the next day, from the beginning could tell they were not interested. We were sent a list of approximately 11 questions which we answered. I even sent them the debit card receipt transaction from my bank account showing the Morrison’s cafe purchase on there. Throughout this they tried to imply from their questions that it was something else that caused it. The whole family had eaten the same food that weekend and no one else was sick. The only thing that was different was my husband visited friends in Norwich and they went to the Morrison’s cafe for lunch where he had the steak pie. This is what caused the food poisoning. They even tried to deny he’d purchased a meal there despite me sending them the debit card transaction on my bank statement. In their pathetic response they said that without a sample of the pie there’s nothing they can do. Who keeps a sample of each meal they have just in case they’re poisoned!!!!! Ridiculous couldn’t care less attitude from Morrison’s. I’ve reported them to food standards agency. Stay away from Morrisons cafe. 4 days of this type of sickness would have had disastrous consequences had a small child eaten that pie. Not only is this place a health hazard but the total denial of Morrisons that there is a problem despite NHS 111 confirming it was food poisoning and when asked what he ate they pretty much confirmed from time symptoms started and time meal was eaten, they were pretty sure it was Morrisons meal that was root cause. They’ve been reported to food standards. Stay away from this place if you value your health.

Old staff faffing around, always short staffed. The screens to order never work either. Nice breakfast, but you'll be waiting 45 mins.

So short staffed, the staff working had no sence. Like yes might be short but if taking food out, could pick up another plate to take back to kitchen. Surprise surprise You can wash your hands after taking the dirty back. The tables were filthy. We had to move the rubbish from empty tables. What everyone was doing. So nothing to wipe the table Had no drinks available! I didnt eat, only kids I didnt feel comfortable eating I feel I need a good scrub in the bath now

i will never ever go to a morrisons cafe again as long as i live. there was nobody serving on the counter.waited 10 mins to be served.all the trays with leftover plates and food were piled high everywhere all over the tables and tray compartments nr the till.made me feel quite ill.nobody was clearing up.it was all a pigsty.when we did finally get served.there was a 30 mins wait for food, we ordered 2 plain chicken burgers.they were both burnt.they were left uneaten.i had fish and chips.the peas were covered in a horrid white glutenous substance.looked like something really horrible which i cant say on here.it looked like snot and thats me being nice. my friend had an afternon tea and had to pay extra for coffee.she doesnt drink tea and the sandwich was bone dry. so i spent 30 plus pounds on a meal for 4 where the food and the surroundings were filthy and i am surprised you dont come down with something if you eat there.and to top it off there was no forks.my friend was told to share 1 fork between 3 people. dont ever go to this place.save your money and it will be good for your health if you avoid this disgusting place.

Food extremely bland and very greasy. Staff are very uninterested. Not good. Tables are disgusting and nothing has been cleaned whatsoever!

Clearly understaffed, for a Saturday afternoon. Team are clearly rushed off their feet, management will end up breaking their workforce.... Food lovely!

Came in around 3pm and the food was terrible and the service just didn’t exist, could tell food had just been sitting in a hot hold and needed replacing, when ordering a meal I would expect you basics off food to be cooked fresh and not just left sitting there all day

Fantastic fry-up breakfast at great value. Plenty of choice including healthier alternatives and all food at great value. Lovely little 'Brew station' where a separate member of staff makes the hot drinks. Staff are friendly and all deserve a bonus as they all work so hard and are occasionally under staffed. Ignore the bad reviews they are written by unsympathetic miserable oiks who are probably on the dole and have nothing better to do than moan at others.

The 3 staff were great but completely insufficient. The lady on the till also had to then make the hot drinks hence the queue outside the restaurant. I sought the store Manager who said he was aware but seemed disinterested, in the time I was there he did not bother to see for himself. From the other reviews it appears that it is a continuous problem. Those around me in the queue said they will not return. The 2 score is for the staff and food which was good. Shame on you Morrisons.

This cafe is so short staffed one guy is expected to run the till and take orders and at the same time work the coffee bar. Others in the queue also complaining of huge queue and not enough staff. Poor guy at the till looks run ragged and even he said not enough staff. Come on Morrisons this is not fair on your staff or customers

Myself and my elderly mum queued for 30 mins to be served, the person on the till kept dissapearing and the lad serving teas doing nothing could have jumped on but seemed to be oblivious to what was going on. 2 other lady members of staff seemed oblivious too as they were just standing about chatying and not cleaning down tables. I saw a lot of people cleaning their own tables as they were all thilthy. I would never use this place again.

We were politely served and informed that there would be a 20 minute delay for breakfast as you were short of staff. We accepted the delay.The coffee was nice and hot. What is totally unacceptable is that when it arrived the full breakfast and the eggs and avocado were all cold. Most disappointing. We did not complain on the day as we were in a hurry to leave and there was a queue of people waiting to be served. I do a lot of shopping in Morrison’s but will not be visiting the cafe again.

Poor cold food. Bacon waffer thin. Toilets are horrible and smell like a fat ugly rat has died somewhere.Do not go there unless you are desperate.

It was close to closing time but i still managed to get a good value plate of food for my tea. A good portion of sausage, egg, chips and beans. Hot and nicely cooked. Staff helpful and friendly. Very good all round for a supermarket...

Well, this cafe is feeling so unloved. Have often used it but no more! Congealed bright yellow scrambled eggs with really soggy toast. No sweetener for drinks, staff really unhelpful when I asked if they had any. They had an open tray of sugar cubes...

All the cutlery had bits of food stuck to it and was very battered and scratched. I discarded fork after fork before realising they were all dirty so I ate my cake with my fingers.

The title of the the ultimate breakfast is a joke. They had shortages that we was not made aware of no black pudding. The bacon was more like jerky than bacon it was dehydrated from sitting under the hot lights for a long long time....

Had a veggie breakfast from here and was surprised at how good it was. Pleant of food on the plat for a great price, all served hot and tasty! Excellent!

The breakfast is decent value, but it’s not to the Wetherspoon standard, you can walk over to the Queen of Iceni on the river and get a much nicer fry up for similar number. I did like the touch of tiger bread for toast though.

Visited Monday 6th of May, brought my two small children a monty box, myself a hot chocolate and had to just settle for pack of sandwiches as the que for hot dinners was outrageous!!! Paid for our dinner, to then find there was no seats and looking around alot of people had just got hot drinks no food, and no food tickets in the tea pots. Just sitting there talking. I had no choice but to sit outside with my two daughters which it then starts to rain!!! I ate two sandwiches Nd then see that the prawns in the third sandwich are mouldy with all green mould on. Went to complain and received refund but still not entirely happy and that Morrison's are selling mouldy food!!

Went here yesterday. Experienced their Order screens, one not working. Do they EVER both work? Two young men were taking ages to order. Finally our turn. My friend ordered pie and mash option as opposed to normal chips. We were not quite convinced order was correct, and could not check as no receipt provided. Asked when paying, they confirmed yes it would be mash. Of course when it finally came, after a 20 minute wait, it was chips!! Soon replaced with mash on asking, albeit cold.When trying to find what you want on the screen, you are aware of a queue of people waiting impatiently behind you. Search for coke, under cold drinks. No, it's under Fizzy. I use screens every day, this system is NOT user friendly. Also there were no cups ready for coffees. The place is falling apart for lack of staff. The staff are nice and helpful and do their best in difficult circumstances. It's the Management cost cutting that is to blame. Put up your prices just a little and get people back in, or you will lose a lot of customers.

Right first things first, the positives, the sausages although didn’t look amazing they were surprisingly tasty, the fried bread and choice of egg (I had poached) was also very tasty and the beans were not over cooked in the microwave. However, the bacon was not nice and very fatty, the black pudding was cremated to the texture of an Oreo, and the hash browns lacked any real flavour...just oily. The value for money was excellent but prepare yourself for other rude customers, my pregnant girlfriend basically got pushed out of the way at the till by some old people. Overall 3* is about right...

Its reasonably priced - theres always a due at lunch times so sometimes a quick meal before shopping turns in to a 30-40 minute wait. Comfort dishes like curry, pies, fish and chips, lasagna , but you can also get pre-made sarnies. Bought in cakes, pastries and bakes. Full of grannies & familys - its convenient, reasonably priced and a familiar menu but it won't win any foodie awards. You get what you see - - but always friendly staff. Kids eat free mid week from 4pm - - - so very family friendly.

Cafeteria, evening. To save money, the store policy is clearly to eliminate staff and replace them with machines. A computer screen offers complex menus that required considerable familiarity with IT to work effectively. There were two. One, inevitably, was out of order, so we queued. The confusing plethora of drop-down menus stated repeatedly "Currently unavailable". We're talking basics; e.g. pie, chicken or burger and chips. Ordering a cup of tea by bank card, no option for cash, I had to acquire the liquid from yet another machine. Like the checkout I had been forced to use for my groceries, this was all a totally sterile, tedious and time consuming experience, devoid of all human interaction. The seats are awful, solid wood and hard. Shopping in Morrison's and having dinner there used to be a pleasant experience. Now it replicates a motorway service area at 4 a.m - totally soulless. The elderly ladies who followed me gave up with the computerised menu in despair. Bad move by Morrison's management. I will not return there. Profit before customers is a policy that will come back to bite them. I spoke to the duty store manager. He looked resigned and have me a store voucher. Like the loss of public lavatories and railway dining cars, the message is clear... service of any kind will be exculpated. Humans are too expensive. Research clearly shows shopping to be a major and valued source of social contact for the elderly. Correction. It used to be.

I had a ‘big breakfast’ today. The staff were friendly and happy, and I was given my food in about 20 minutes.The food was nice, but considering it was called a “big” breakfast, I expected a bit more- maybe some toast or an extra slice of fried bread- it only came with one triangle of fried bread. Also would’ve been better with 2 eggs instead of one

OMG What has happened to this Supermarket Cafe? We love going to this Supermarket to do our Christmas shopping and eating lunch whilst there but what a shock we got order by computer!!! no staff to clean tables which were disgusting! only saw 2 female staff, 1 man in kitchen, tea machine not working, and when the Christmas Lunch arrived what a mess, powder potato, uncooked sprouts and COLD! we ate little as we were hungry BUT never again, absolutely disgusting.

Have been using this restaurant since it opened but recently it is going downhill.Certainly NOT the fault of the staff, they work their socks off, there just isn’t enough of them. It’s a very busy place and cutting back on staff is not an option. Now the management have installed a ‘ select your own meal ‘ machine ! not unlike Macdonalds. But, there are many many elderly folks using the restaurant and without being rude, they find using this difficult. So, a member of the already short staff has to ‘ hover ‘ and assist constantly. This makes the whole idea pointless.Such a shame as the food is good, when you get it, and prices are very reasonable.As for management, no one to be seen of course so not easy to complain. But again, it’s not the staff’s fault.

Read the reviews for coffee shop nearly didn’t go but it was very close by we had a excellent breakfast the big daddy breakfast was amazing size and quality small breakfast the same. The staff were happy and helpful and all was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely go again well done Morrison’s.

We went for breakfast this morning and I feel like I need a tetanus now! Absolutely filthy at 9.30 in the morning! Will not be using the restaurant ever again.....

Visited at 11:30today to have a coffee .No mugs but when they were brought out a good majority were still badly stained My daughter went through and they were just awful . Also teapots need replacing as also stained on outside and wonk y lids. Then told half hour wait for food .The tables had not been cleaned either .Has put me off for the future .did not eat

The but and the reason for 2 stars is not due to the kind staff they have there but for the damn flies that keep hanging around the coffee machine. Also due to the fact the cleanliness of the cafe like the tables, cuttlery and crockery (ie the cup you are about to drink from) are either stained with tea/coffee or dirtt and still sticky. The staff are pleasant yes but the lack of hygiene made me ill for a few weeks since. I gave stopped using the cafe for this reason only. Not the staffs fault however someone needs to train one of them to be a permanent on hand cleaner using proper cleaning materials. Not just a wet cloth which I witnessed countless times! They only wipe around the table, nothing was ever moved. It was like wiping your crumbs on the floor at home. That's how poorly the tables were cleaned.To sound rude I would avoid eating and drinking here until the flies and the cleaniness is thoroughly improved!Do not get me started on the store itself and how poorly run it is as well! Well it does employ a somewhat 20 year old as the store manager. Yes I had to laugh when I was told he was in charge! In charge of walking up and down seems his best skill!

I rarely give bad or low reviews but this one takes the biscuit and tries to charge you £10 for it! I will keep it short and sweet like I hope your visit it. The prices are high for what it is, the food is borderline inedible, the floors and tables aren’t clean and half of the plates are dirty when you get them.

For a cafe that used to be clean, efficient and a pleasure to eat there.It has gone completely downhill.On Saturday 25th August 2018 at 2pm my 3 friends met up for a snack and hot drink.We were amazed how let down it had become.We arrived to find a number of tables empty but ALL had trays and dirty plates on them.After clearing our table I went and join the few other customers to place my order.There were no trays available I had to ask a member of staff for one.When I and others got to the drinks area where mugs are normally available, there were none.We asked the cashier if she could get some, she then went to the rear area where food is prepared and we saw HER having to load the dishwasher. Why didn't the staff at that area do it for her as she was also trying to deal with customers at the till. She said they would be ready soon. I and others paid for our orders and patiently waited. 5 minutes or so elapsed still no mugs. When they finally arrives arrived we took them over to the drinks dispensers only to find 2 of the machines was NOT working.I finally took drinks to our table. Staff were all over the place trying to find customers with the right meals.Overall we will NOT be going there again .

A sign said this was a quiet time to visit but we still had a wait for mediocre food that arrived luke ward after a wait and went cold very quickly due to the air con!

Visited Sunday afternoon. Lots of food on floor which was made worse by the member of staff cleaning the table by wiping the bits of food left on the table on to the floor (or chair!). No attempt made to clean the floor after this. Trays never seem clean in cafe. Teabags used are not good and teapots always seem dirty.

We placed our order, paid for it, found seating and our meal arrived in 5 minutes. A good portion of fish with crisp batter - hot, with sufficient chips and peas. Staff were pleasant and cleared our table as we left. Recommended.

This is a really nice Morrisons with a modern, well proportioned cafe. The food is as expected. Turned around quickly, but for the price you pay the food is palatable. The staff are friendly and the feel is relaxed. Worth a stop for cheap eats if in the area.

My oh says that this is the best fish and chips that he has eaten. The service can be slow some days.

Oh dear. I visited here with my family for a quick bit of lunch.The place looks fairly fresh. Chairs, tables and decor look as if they were recently refreshed. However... In short - Outdated menu, Lack if staff, slow service + lukewarm food.We found a table, but had to clean it down ourselves. Never a good start.The menu is basic and is rather out of date compared to other places. It was very standard. You won’t find anything exciting here.I ordered the 1/2 lb beef burger with sweet potato fries. My wife ordered the vegi breakfast. My boy had the kids pizza and chips, and my little girl had the kids fish fingers.From ordering, we waited just over 40 mins for food. Went to get cutlery and sauces. No forks, no ketchup and generally messy. 15 mins later, forks arrived. Burger’s were tough. Sweet potato fries were cold. Wife’s vegi breakfast was very average. The mushrooms were in-edible. My boy’s pizza was more dough than topping. Chips were cold. My little girls fish fingers were fine. Again, cold chips.The worst thing was the speed of service. A LOT of people were grumbling and the staff were trying their best, but there wasn’t enough of them.Will I go again? No way.Next time, I’ll grab some sandwiches. It’s cheaper, faster and will taste better.

Cafe is always filthy, tables always sticky. Staff are somewhat mentally disadvantaged. Menu always has items not available. Food not to any standard. Would get better at home. Avoid!

I really like this Morrisons as it is spacious and the staff are really cheery. I love their poached eggs so had a simple breakfast of toast, eggs and hot chocolate. Does what it says on the tin - tasty, cheap and have the eggs with the tinned tomatoes. Lovely!

Asparagus was disgusting. Asparagus sticks were dried out and chewy like tree twigs. It was especially annoying because it was the most expensive item on the menu.They also run out of food constantly. It would be 1 star but the the prices and other food options are reasonable hence 2 stars.

The cafe is light bright and has been refurbished from the last time I was here, the staff are polite and the service was good

We had a breakfast each. Food was actually very tasty and came to the table hot. Setting was fine. Staff friendly. Quick service

Friendly staff very cleanFood so well priced ordered small breakfast and partner had scrambled egg on toast with extra hash browns beans and toast not realising the amount of eggs you get. Including tea and coffee came to just under £1 paid £30+ last week at another eaterie have to say this was much nicer. Food came quick very tasty very hot even the beans which is often a bug bear with me as they are often cold but not today. Good portion sizes aswell Highly recommend

We popped into Morrisons cafe to breakfast, we didn't expect much but was surprised with just how nice the food tasted, great value for money certainly be going back there again when we're next in norwich

HiI often shop at Morrisons and last Sat the smell of food drew me to the cafe. Am I easily led ? not often. We ordered our food from a friendly person and found a table. the food came quickly and was hot. A good sized plate for the average person Did I have a desert mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes I did. We left the stores with a trolley full for the week and a tummy filled but comfortable. In all a good shopping trip we are doing the same next week. Maybe see you there! Jillyx

Visited Morrisons today and ordered the fish and chips. When it arrived I was horrified by the look of the fish and the pool of greece under it on closer inspection underneath it was like a sponge. Once I had alerted the server they were very helpful in offering a refund or a replacement but seeing that put me of. My family also had meals which were ok nothing great though.

Visited for lunch while shopping in store. Christmas specials advertised but not available!Staff not interested, long wait to pay at the till & served by a grumpy operator. Struggled to find a clean table. Only one young chap clearing dirty plates from tables. Won't be rushing back.

Have visited often when I shop, they do hot food, sandwiches, salads and cakes, all produce is served in the shop, I usually have a sandwich and all I can say is the fill is outstanding and excellent value for money

Had breakfast there it was very nice coffee was lovely my son had a slush drink what he loves so he was happy

The décor is lovely well done, shame about the food and staff. Food half cold re cooked breakfast, nothing gluten free, not even a pre made up roll that you should be able to get in store. Only thing on offer was a piece of cake pre wrapped boring. When staff brought out my partner breakfast she also has a dish cloth in her hand ( hygiene !!!!) Staff today have can not be bothered attitude. ( De motivated or in motivated) 3/9/16

visited with family was told if i spent over a certain amount on an adult meal kids would be free, everything we wanted was sold out and with no where else to go we finally find something to eat so after paying and making our way though the dirty tables to find one to sit at i see i was charged for the kids meal! i ask the person who served us and was told the adult item did not qualify for a free kids meal although it was over the minimum spend!!! it was clear to me that morrisons do not care about dirty tables and will happily leave used plates glasses etc for at least the duration of our meal (about 45 mins) - will not return!

Although there's was a long que the lady on the till dealt with this very quickly, I ordered a mini scampi and was advised if I went for the normal size I would get my drink free.For a budget restaurant the food was very good good portions, well cooked and very hot.The restaurant was very clean and the staff very helpful and professional.If it's a pitstop you need this place is ideal.
