Staff need training in customer service it's appalling. only asked a dark haired fella would he help carry my tray as I had a child in a wheelchair, didn't even eknowledge me walked straight in the back of kitchen. looking around the place it's not very hygenic, it's filthy

Went in for breakfast, ordered 2 full English looked and tasted absolutely shocking , plus they were serving no hot drinks stayed that they were unavailable. It was the worse food I’ve ever had

Breakfast looked and tasted like yesterday ingredients/food warmed up? Coffee tastes like dishwater. Next time I'll buy my eggs and bacon and cook it from home myself

Good morning all. Disappointing to find that the price for hot drinks has gone up considerably. In my opinion it would appear to be no longer as competitive. Although there is now a "free" refill available; not everyone requires this as a mug holds quite a lot of liquid and again in my opinion a price fix hold on the previous cost of a drink would have been preferable. There will be a flask in the car from now on.

It was absolutely freezing in the cafe & supermarket no heating on wotsoecer I come here a lot & last few times its gone downhill please buck up or I have to find another one

Staff member very ignorant and attitude appealing ( the bloke with glasses) proper jobsworth. Ordered fish n chips, chips were like rubber and fish was burnt.

Called in whilst shopping and ordered a cake from the counter after a bit of a wait. Also ordered 2 lattes but the problem was both drinks machines, which are self service, weren't working and displaying a message that cleaning was required. We eventually managed to tell the staff member who suggested we use another drinks machine in the store and carry our drinks back to the cafe area! A bit dangerous we thought with kids running around the aisles as they do. After a while with no sign of the machines being cleaned we gave up and got a refund. Just glad that we were able to let the staff know that the drinks machines weren't working.

Use this place a few times a week for work. Every time you arrive theres no one serving on the till and unless you put your head in the kitchen and ask to be served your just left at the till like a spare part. Food is usually acceptable . They are supposed to close at 6 but don't count on it they are always closing early. Came today every table littered with uncleared food and rubbish. No excuses regarding short staffed it frequently like this.

My first choice of chicken was unavailable so I went for the sausages. Arrived in under 10 min, excellent. However the let down was dirty tables and floor, the cutlery had dried in stains on them.

Food was lovely better than some restaurants in this tow mash was lovley done creamy and nice gravy came in a little jug simply Fabulous

Went on Wed 18 approx 2.05pm and stood waiting patiently by the til. One member of staff was testing the temp of the milkshake and taking notes . He knew we were there waiting to be served. He proceeded to walk past us without saying a word and headed towards another machine to take his records. Eventually he headed back into the kitchen area, walking past us still not acknowledging our presence. Not even eye contact, nor a hello, not even a nod to acknowledge our presence. Eventually a lady came out ,couldn’t make her name out but it was either Wendy or Mandy who stood behind the till and glared at us. No smile, not even one word, nothing. After a few moments of silence I politely asked if she was ready to serve us ( she’d just started up the till ). I could not believe her rude manner, it made us both feel very uncomfortable. When our meal was brought to the table it was served by an absolutely LOVELY lady called Jo who was smiley, happy and chatty. What a complete difference. She deserves 5 stars. I also witnessed another couple having to wait by the till and one gentleman loudly shouted “service” and out popped Jo, still with a smile on her face and promptly serving the customer paying no attention to the fact that he’d rudely shouted “service” I dread to think what Wendy / Mandy’s reaction would’ve been ! Thank you Jo !

Please train your staff in the art of customer service! - Mum and I popped into this cafe for a quick bite to eat, and were suitably unimpressed by the clear lack of hospitality. We'd obviously been noticed by the 3 female staff stood behind the counter sniggering and laughing at us whilst we were sat at the table unsure of whether we had to order at the bar or get table service. If it is order at the bar, this is not abundantly clear, especially with the price of £9 for a soup and a sandwich (!) I noticed that other tables had not had their empty plates or crockery cleared, so it became apparent that as this cafe is not their business, they do not care about the type of service. Utterly disappointed, and the owners need to be aware of the type of staff they have running the place, because there clearly isn't any form of service available that will ever make us return, especially in this current climate! We left shortly after sitting down, as there are plenty of other eateries available in Southport and we have now arrived at Hideaway which is the complete opposite of the service I've described above.

Had a Chunky Beef Pie w/chips & peas at West Kirby last week, it was excellent. Today had the same meal at Southport but sadly the pie had less meat in it and the pastry was hard and horrible. Don't bother with the Southport branch

This cafe can have very good days and really disappointing ones. This appears to be totally dependent on the staff on duty. It needs a real contribution by the management to re-emphasise what the staff are there for and retrain as necessary

Three times now I have been into Morrisons cafe and ordered a chicken dinner, each time I have been told that they have run out. This is at the beginning of lunch time. Also one person taking orders and serving. Today again no chicken dinners. Very poor service, won’t be going again not worth the wait in the queue.

During a recent visit to Southport we spent a weekend staying at the Travelodge next door. We visited for the breakfast and the cafe was very busy. The cafe was well organised by the staff who kept the tables impeccable . There was a good menu choice and I chose scrambled egg on toast and my husband ordered the large breakfast. The breakfasts were cooked fresh to order and was inexpensive. From my point of view, my toast was perfect, boiling hot swimming in melted butter. My husband said that the sausage tasted delicious and the bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. We received excellent customer service throughout our visit.

Food portions are small and over priced. Food in Tesco cafe is much cheaper and nicer. The staff here are really rude and condescending. Bad atmosphere, avoid, avoid, avoid!

We were staying at the Travelodge near to Morrisons and had a long day so we decided the easiest way for a meal was to visit Morrisons Cafe. It was OK, it was just after 5pm and the cafe was open until 6pm but the meal took a long while to come. There were a couple of bits missing but these were quickly fetched once mentioned. The meals filled the gap but you wouldn't go rushing back.

Nice friendly staff, but the whole area needs a deep clean. Cheap nasty cutlery with not a teaspoon in sight. The best thing about the breakfast was the toasted bloomer. Expected better quality of breakfast items: sausage had little meat content and was overly deep fried; bacon was not well done as requested and was tasteless; mushroom was rubbery and watery. Limited options on display, no pastries or cereals, etc and the slices of egg custard looked completely unappetising.

We arrived at 2.30pm placed our order at the counter which was repeated back to us. We chose to sit outside. However, it turned cool so we moved in doors and I told the lady at the till. 3.15 out came the food and the it was delivered outside. She hadn't bothered telling her colleague we had moved. The poached eggs on toast for one of the children were solid. We had ordered 2 burgers but got one. My steak pie which I ordered was chicken. To be fair they did replace the pie when I complained and they did provide an extra burger which we were charged for. The food was poor quality. We had eaten here before ( a few years ago) and it was nice. Today it wasn't. We spend most of the afternoon in there.

Ate a jacket potato, was sick. I will not be back to this cafe, will still get my mince meat from here though

Apparently the Kitchen goes red when you try and order food. Cafe virtually empty. Happy to follow covid guidelines but not wait in a queue because they are short staffed and cafe virtually empty. My autistic service user wated in the queue ok and we...

Recently used the Cafe here on several occasions. Usually had breakfasts, especially the "Flying Start", excellent value, and well presented and HOT. If in the area again, will call again.

The Travelodge was next to the Morrisons so was very convenient for breakfast. The four of us had no complaints, we had between us Porridge, Toast, Full Breakfast, toast and Jam, Tea and Coffeee. Very good value for money. Good range typical of a supermarket...

Having experienced a very poor breakfast at Wetherspoons we (6 of us) chose to eat at Morrisons cafe. The self-service ordering was good because you can choose options (such as how you want your egg, etc.). Much better quality and similar prices... highly recommend.

As others have stated we used Morrison’s as the breakfast cafe for the nearby Travelodge. We visited on a very wet Saturday morning, ordering two ‘New’ eggs Benedict and accompanying teas via the automated system. Making our pot of tea we then found a table...

Food was disgusting sent scampi back as not cooked properly and ordered fish and chips that were just as bad will never eat in this place again

Queued up and when got to front and ordered was told by lass on the till not serving any hot food. So we just sat down with drinks. They were bringing hot food out to other people, pathetic!

We used Morrisons as the dining area for Travelodge during our stay. Great food at half the price you would pay in some budget hotels. Morrisons Cafe's never disappoint.

Came here after the flower show with my mum and grandma whilst waiting for our coach and would honestly give it a 0 rating if I could. All cups were dirty, self service drinks machine was absolutely disgusting looks like it’s not been cleaned in weeks. Hot chocolate was so watery.Tables full of used pots left for ages as tray rack was full, and nobody collecting anything in.Was here 40 minutes and these cups didn’t get cleared from our table, a lot of tables were left dirty.Appreciate it got very busy but I work in a fast paced cafe myself and these standards are just not acceptable. By far the dirtiest cafe I’ve ever been in.

Quite a lot of choice and not to expensive. Large so no probs finding a table. Good service and good value meals.

We called for 2 lattes as the cleveland cafe was closed on monday?? Got 2 lattes and a scone+butter to share, the lady on the till was very helpful showing me the 'ropes' with the coffee dispenser, the cafe was clean & spacious, the coffees...

Staff are really nice but please Mr Morrison put some investment in. A cloth & some detergent wouldn’t go a miss. Someone to help manage the whole process would be an improvement.

Useful selection of snacks such as toasted sandwiches and meals such as breakfast,also fish and chips which were welcome after shopping during our road trip.Staff helpful, prices reasonable. There was plenty of space, it was light and airy.

Good spacious supermarhet with reasonably priced menu although the meat counetr is small and restricted in terms of choice

Waited patiently for half an hour for an all day breakfast having ordered and paid via the self service machine. There was no indication of an hours wait and as the cafe seating area wasn’t busy I didn’t think to check at the counter before ordering.

ordered a full breakfast and they got it wrong. everything is deep fat fried,even their bread ,which you cant cut with a knife. rubber eggs, rubber bacon. rubber sausages, not a very pleasant experience. i wont be back.

I like Morrisons Cafes, especially the cooked breakfast options and generally find them to provide great food at a really good price. However this one at Morrisons in Southport was terrible. The chef got the order wrong to start with and the food was really bad. It tasted like it was covered in old grease that should have been thrown out and the toast came with no butter. Dirty cutlery and no napkins, with about one square of kitchen roll left out. This is the worst Morrisons cafe I have seen, they need to learn from the other ones I have visited which are really nice.

Service incredibly sloe only ordered bangers n mash and sausage egg n chips. Server like a robot think he must have been waiting to go home. Being served by HAL 9000 would have been more appealing. Had to ask initially if someone could serve us. Whilst waiting at till customer brought their meal back saying it was cold, hey nothing a microwave cant fix. Order number 41 still waiting their companions order 42 nearly finished their meals. Only 12 tables seated yet 30 mins now and no food in sight. Hey 41 got their food yay. Think our order has been delivered to the upside down. Wow 36 mins later food arrived. Nothing wrong with the food shame it took so long in a very empty cafe .

Cold soup and no butter. Service by till person was fine, but cafe staff need to get themselves organised.

Not bad for what it was, they forgot my fried bread but brought it out swiftly once it was mentioned. Food was ok, can’t expect much more from a supermarket cafe.

Not as good as usual both coffee machines playing up. No tea spoons no jug of milk. Toast delivered with no butter it was also cold. Small breakfast however was fine and coffee great once the machines were fixed.

Very poor coffee machine broke only black coffee that's fine that's what I wanted . Healthy breakfast 35mins wait Luke warm when it arrives so coffee gone. One woman brought a cup back whilst o waited to be served pointing out lipstick on it . So it obviously had not been washed . Tables full of debris and dirty had to wipe ours with hand wash. It looked like dry egg . Poor service value and not a place I will bothering to visit again . And quite a few others were complaining about the place to.

While doing a little shopping in the store. I saw the restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were delighted to say we had a lovely plate of fish and chips and of course peas. It I was a long time since I have enjoyed them so much.

Me and my husband visit this cafe at least once a week. The last few visits have been so bad that we’re not going there again. 130pm no sandwiches on display, we ordered soup and a roll 28 mins later my husband went to enquire were it was and was told you’ve only waited 28mins.??????

Five of us for breakfast. Excellent bacon baps with loads of bacon,bacon sandwich also high quality and bacon and beans all plates cleared. Five drinks total billnjust over £15. Brilliant value,good service nice clean venue. Highly recommend.

I found myself here again as a convenience and was a little hesitant to order the Eggs Benedict, after looking at the title my last review here, which was 'Appauling Eggs Benedict.'

We went here after Splash World as the kids were starving and the prices at Splashworld were far too expensive. At this cafe we found that if we chose a meal for 4.50, the kids could eat free, which was a very pleasant surprise, so we had 4 good meals with drinks for 12 pounds. Food was fine, no complaints from kids.

Came here for tea with service user coffee lovely wait for meals far to long bloke on till looked like he had a personality transplant. Food good as usual when it arrived not very busy so cant really explain why the wait is soooo long

This Morrison's was nearby our hotel and so it was very convenient for getting breakfast and shopping for fruit and water to take with us. Food was excellent in the cafe and the staff were very nice and friendly.

Went with a friend for lunch ,southport ,very good value ,we both had fish and chips ,mushy peas ,I must say we coundnt finish it only because ,the size of the meal was very large we did have to wait a while ,but only because it was very busy

Big fan of Morrisons fish and chips. Mine was very good the other meal a jacket potato with tuna was not so good. The potato was cold. It was quickly rectified by the friendly staff so no harm done. Will definitely go again.

Yesterday @ Southport. Waited ages. 4 visits to the counter to complain. Fobbed off. Absolute rubbish

Went early this morning and we had large breakfast.Everything was freshly cooked and so tasty.

Came here for coffee with a disabled client service was quick and efficient coffee was lovely a-lot of the tables needed clearing shame customers cant be bothered taking their trays back to the racks

It's a usual Morrisons cafe, good basic food and drinks at reasonable prices. Good place to pop in for a snack or meal.

Friendly staff and good value breakfast in a popular spot but this cafe really needs a good clean. Tables smeared with food, possibly just a jay cloth thrown across them and the cutlery was really quite poor - smeared, food still on some knives etc.

Took two hungry 8 year olds for lunch. Very friendly helpful staff and brilliant value food. Limited cafe style food that you'd expect and nicely cooked. Enjoyed.

We visited Saturday 30th Sept at about 09:00am and ordered breakfast.

This cafe is very comfortable and well laid out. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking and a few franchise shops in the store. The food is the usual Morrison fare, cheap and cheerful and good value for money. The store toilets were spotless with evidence of being cleaned regularly.

We just had breakfast here and although we had a bit of a wait because it was extremely busy I have to say the good was amazing.... was freshly cooked to order and nice and hot... staff were courteous and friendly too ... highly recommended

We stayed at the close by Travel lodge so decided to eat at Morrisons. We hoped it would be better then our local one which no longer served decent cafe food. We ordered breakfast with extra black pudding. It was quite early, and the cafe was quiet. It must have taken 20-30 minutes for the food to arrive, I had to ask when it was coming.

Wife and I ordered late breakfast on Sunday. After 30 minutes wait, it arrived. Bacon was a mix of almost raw and burnt. All of it was very fatty! Not at all a good advert for their own product! Tomato over cooked. Cafe not overly busy. Don't know how it can take 30+ minutes to cook a breakfast. No forks available when I ordered and 15 minutes later I had to ask for the holder to be replenished. Lots of dirty tables, only 1 person seemed to be clearing up. Food waste all over the floor, clearly had not been brushed since opening ( it was after 1.00pm when we were there). Overall, very poor food, service and not value for money. With so many places to eat in Southport, Morrisons needs to get its act together or end up with no custom at all. Needless to say, we won't be eating there again any time soon

So we came to southport and stayed at the travelodge just 30 seconds away and thought. Mmmmmm morrisons breakfast in the morning so we get up.and make our way accross, order and waited 40 minutes for 2 big breakfasts and a £1 child breakfast which may i add is a fantastic offer for kids. Upon getting these breakfast they werr muddled up wgo ordered what witg what breakfast no probz we can sort our food out and my husband was missing the bacon. And the server could of cracked a smile to be honest.

Tables stacked with empty plates, waitress delivering food and returning empty handed, massive wait for substandard offerings.We visit Morrisons to shop every week and I have been observing the demise of this once decent cafe. What is going on and why is it still going on???

Over the years I have championed this brand,especially this branch, for value for money etc. Visited early afternoon yesterday and can only describe as shambolic. Tables and cupboards loaded with dirty dishes,only one drinks machine working and families having "picnics" with either own food and/or food bought in the store area. In fairness to the couple of staff in evidence they seemed to be fighting an uphill battle bringing food out without trying to clear. What was missing was any sign of a manager. In days of old store management were in evidence "fire fighting" such situations! Hope that Morrisons still see their cafes as an asset or is this a Southport problem?To add insult to injury I was charged for a coffee I didn't need but by the time I realised I had lost the will to live.

Queuing to order food: 20 mins. Self service drink machines: one was out of order. Food arrived 40 mins later. Hamburger: rubbery. Little all day breakfast: only the toasts were edible. Tidiness: negative. Cleanliness (tables and staff uniform): negative. A dreadful experience. Don't waste your money.

The food here is fine and if I was reviewing on food alone I would give this place 4 stars.The atmosphere lets the place down. Morrisons are a supermarket that turns over millions every year. Why can they not renovate their cafes and make them have some style?All the tables are too crammed close together, there's not even the slightest hint of privacy, it is uncomfortable sitting there. Really needs sorting out.

A couple of hard boiled eggs on top of a crispy bun, with rubbery bacon and watery hollandaise sauce.Oh how we laughed!

We ordered Fish and Chips and mushy peas???????? It came Fish battered hard as stone and Allan could not even eat the meal. Chips was cold and hard too. The mushy peas also tasted terrible.The second dish was scampi, chips and peas. Chips was cold and peas looked terrible, and cold too. Did not enjoyed both meals.But as a diabetic person I had to eat something??????? I DO HAVE PHOTOS FOR THESE MEALS, AND THEY ARE ON MY PHONE. So I will put on a later date, when I get it download from y handphone ok.. Very disgusted with the MEALS. A no go café for anyone. WASTE OF MONEY. From last year 2016, IT HASGONE DOWN THE HILL.

Cant fault it big breakfast hits the spot.get what you expect.also on a plus side kids eat free after 3pm with a full paying adult.

We had a very good meal for mot a lot of money...will definitely go again. Lunch is also a really good deal...excellent sandwiches!

Today, May 5th. 2017, my wife and I went for lunch in the Market Street Cafe of Morrison's store in Southport. We have always had a good lunch, which is always fish and chips and peas, as we think it is the best value in Sourthport. Not so today! When the meal came, the order for my wife was wrong (excuse given by overworked and very nice waitress lady) because the young man taking the orders was 'new'. When we cut into the batter, we discovered very dry fish. No taste, and that we put down to being probably too much for one chef to handle in the kitchen if alone, and then, we waited 40 MINUTES for our pudding, which the nice lady serving said she had told the kitchen twice about. Finally, it arrived and was the best part of the meal. My wife worked in the old Littlewoods Store in Southport for five years in the kitchen, and says mistakes can, and are, made because of stress at busy times, and especially if one person is doing all the cooking. Dishes are cooked and stacked on heaters to keep them warm, and overcook, and we think this is why our fish and chips were lousy today. It is a shame! I have rated this cafe at least twice over the past two or three years as good, but will not be going back there again for some time, not until Morrisons do something about improving the service and the food.

Had the pleasure of having lunch at this cafe first class service friendly staff and food was fresh and tasty will be back

Cheap eats at this supermarket, well worth a visit if on a tight budget. Clean and well spaced out, does get busy at certain times due to cheap meals.

A great breakfast at low price, very good quality, very clean tables and floor, happy and smiling staff, perfect place for the all day full English .

as i work in the building i hear the customers talking how they have enjoyed their visit to cafe. staff helpful food exceptional service with a smile.

This can be very handy for a nice cup of tea or a coffee. Maybe even a breakfast. But I would not recommend for a good meal.

Cheap and cheerful food. Service was a little slow but was worth the wait. Some delicious smelling breakfasts came out of the kitchen while we were waiting

Came here for fill up before the drive home. We had a 40 min wait before our two breakfasts came but to be fair the young man on the till did tell us about the wait. I wasn't too pleased when someone who came after us got served before us. But when the breakfasts came they were very tasty indeed. The only niggle I had was the fried bread had been deep fried rather than the much nicer shallow fried, but over all good tasty food.

The staff are trying their best but 1 cook in the kitchen is not enough!! Everyone getting fed up waiting. One lady waited half an hr for 2 rounds of toast! I asked for a tuna jacket potato-sorry,no tuna! In a supermarket!!! After 25 mins it arrived- over cooked, lukewarm with an old shrivelled tomato!!! I couldn't eat it!

My wife and i with friends called into this restaurant for an afternoon tea. What a disappointment. We selected our cakes and proceeded to the till to order our drinks. The young man on the till looked totally fed up with himself and the job. We wanted some cups for our tea and coffee, but the young man pointed out that we could use the cups on the rack, but they were dirty. He offered us some paper cups. A little while later the racks were stocked up with clean cups. I went over and collected two of the clean cups. Unfortunately they were dirtier that the cups the young man told us about. In fact they had not even seen water let alone a dish washer. The was tea stains inside and outside the mugs. I asked to see the restaurant Manager , but was informed that there was none, just the customer service desk. My friend took the dirty mugs to the new customer service desk only to find it not staffed. Eventually a member of staff appeared from the office. The cups were taken into the kitchen, soon after the three trays of mugs were removed from the racks into the kitchen for cleaning. To make matters worse there was no milk cartons in the containers, and no tea bag in one of my teapots. The was one lady on duty in the restaurant, clearing and cleaning tables, filling shelves etc, and serving food from the kitchen. Poor soul, she looked haggered, no wonder. If this is the best Morrisons in Southport can provide it will be a long time before we visit again.

Queued for 25mins'would never go again the machine ran out of coffee that was an ordeal in itself trying to get some one to fill it.

Decided to go to Morrisons for tea with the grandchildren. We ordered the food which seemed quiet reasonably priced. Then we waited and waited! It got to be nearly 45 minutes when I asked to speak to the manager! He said the lad on the till should have been telling people there was a delay. When the food came it was barely warm. The manager did refund us but I wouldn't eat a a Morrisons again!

Decided to have breakfast at Morrisons after a hospital appointment and before doing the shopping. NEVER AGAIN!!! Ordered our food at first counter, picked up a tray to join a queue to choose our drinks and pay for our ordered food. This queue was very slow moving towards the payment tills. Picked up cups to fill with coffee and as every cup was dirty with either coffee stains or lipstick we instead picked up the take away paper cups and informed a member of staff, Every empty table had uncleared trays and used plates. Found the cleanest but still had to remove used cups. Cutlery was disgusting as it was hard to find the cleanest as most had food stuck to them and we were not the only customers looking for the cleanest. As the waitress placed our tray of three different cooked breakfasts, eggs benedict, full breakfast and meat free I asked her what is this as I pulled a long strand of hair from the meat free breakfast. She was as horrified as us, offered to replace the breakfast but too late we had seen enough. Requested full refund which we received,

All that we needed to eat and drink in a fresh, clean cafe at the side of the new shop. Full English was tasty and nicely presented and the fresh coffee was decent. Would use again in the future.

Normally Sainsburys supermarket cafes are the only ones I will eat in cos the food is cooked fresh. While on holiday in Cornwall we visited a Morrisons and was impressed so we thought we would try Southport. The café has been refurbished and has a very fresh décor. We were not disappointed in the food the grandchildren had spag bol which included a drink and fruit bag. My hubby had fish and chips which he said was delicious I had chicken tikka which was very nice. We paid £5 each for our meals which included a hot drink, the childrens meals £3 each however because we were eating after 3.30pm they were free. Bargain for a tenner. Well done Morrisons we will be back when in Southport.

This is a good place to grab a coffee or snack when shopping in the super-market.Not bad food and not too expensive either.

Fast service,reasonable quality and friendly staff. Less than ten minutes from ordering to eating only negative fried bread over cooked.

food must be good because it is always busy. staff very helpful especially the pensioners. which is most welcoming for them
