Morrisons Cafe in Ipswich

They got my breakfast then waited with my breakfast for a shop order that took over 30 minutes so by the time the breakfast got here was stone cold and ruined

Firstly the team that work here work hard and deserve better pay and conditions. The powers that be let it down. Coffee machines were out of order for too long, the changes to allocating table numbers was changed, failed and reverted thankfully, fridges have been empty on occasion. Overall I visit as it's convenient, easily accessible with a disabled child and kids eat free which is a blessing in this climate. I just wish the big bosses cared about experience as much as profit, radical idea but people might even stay longer and buy more if some money was spent.

Sausages burnt Mushrooms undercooked

Had large fry up. Was crap. Never again. Place was cold and dirty.

The staff are overworked. The cook is also taking orders. The server is doing everything. They are understaffed badly. No fried eggs. No coffee. The staff are great. Morrisons need to up their game or they will lose the great staff they have. Very poor experience, made better by the staffs stoic attitude and humour under intense pressure

Went in the cafe for a cuppa and a bacon sandwich at 10:50. Long story short, the bacon roll took 45mins to appear. More staff required as the ones they have do a good job.

No coffee machines working, Did get free instant coffee but cheap home brand. No decent brand or proper milk. no staff working ; cutlery ,cups filthy .

Cold bland food would not order again

No staff at tills or even in sight all in kitchin cooking so only option is to pay online or via the self service till, I watch 3 elderly people attempt it and walk away disappointed, I tried to used the qr code on ten table and it would work eventually managed to order using self service till but if this is how Morrisons is going rather that have actual human being to speak to I won’t be coming again after 25yrs of shopping here.

Awful food, had a vegetarian breakfast - mushrooms were barely cooked, hashbrowns were soggy, vegan sausages tasted like cardboard, coffee machines were turned off so had to make your own drinks, using instant Morrisons own coffee, cups were dirty, tea pots were thick with limescale, cutlery was dirty, tables were sticky, part of our order never came out, the waiter literally threw sauce packets across our table. Other than when the food was brought out, no staff were around. This was our second visit to the cafe, the first experience wasn’t much better but thought we’d give it another go. It’s a shame as I prefer Morrisons supermarket to some of the others but will opt for others in the area as their cafes are much, much better.

It's good to be able to order a meal and relax to enjoy a well cooked meal

Did not get my food delivery waited 3 hours and still no delivery. Said was “assigned to driver” for 2 hours and nothing. Absolute disgrace of a service this has happened twice now in a few months with Just Eat.

Toast was soggy and I didn’t receive my poached egg very poor .

Excellent service, food was lovely and hot, don't know why a few are moaning about on here, not happy until they have a moan.

Very disappointed waited over 2 hours for our delivery and when it eventually turned up everything was stone cold, definitely wasn’t worth £25.

We have been going to this Cafe for years but the last 4-5 times over a 5-6 month period we have noticed the quality of food drop significantly. It really has gone downhill. Liquid Guacamole on the Veggie Breakfasts, soggy tasteless Fries instead of the nice fresh chunky chips. It has been this way throughout all these recent visits so we have decided to stop eating here.

Cold, no heat in the store, it was the same 6 weeks ago. No food available. Is there a bigger problem?

We have tried for many months now to support this cafe with my family by going one evening a week. It seems to make up the opening/closing times as it goes! One week it’s open and serving till 1700 another you go at 1615 and it’s shut with staff walking around. Went tonight at 1630 (reasonable time for dinner I would argue) to find it stopped serving about 5 minutes before. From staffs attitude we seemed to be unreasonable wanting dinner at dinner time from a cafe! Can officially say have given up trying to support them 😞

Dirty cups and cutlery. Very bad. Food was great.

Unfortunately a disappointing breakfast, food itself was ok although went cold very quickly. Service particularly poor with items missed off of meals or order wrong, when asked to change staff then took a very long time to rectify, I could understand a bit more if very busy but it wasn't.

Can't judge the food as we didn't eat.. Wrong order was sent out. And sent back. Was then extremely difficult to get hold of restaurant. Driver was unhelpful, and when I finally got through to restaurant they were restricted what they could do. Just got to hope I get refunded on a whole order now.

Convinent place to stop for a quick bite and drink

If you go in to the cafe and "Ask for Ellen" you can have two crumpets free with butter and jam. Which is helpful just now as going turning round seems to cost money.

Food was edible and very reasonably priced but the cafe itself is filthy and doesn't look like anything has been cleaned for years. 'Clean' cutlery was all dirty and mugs all black inside. The cleanliness in here made me anxious to be Frank but you get what you pay for. Kids running wild and more of a play area than a cafe unfortunately.

Not busy. Automated ordering system and payment. Self service for drinks. Long await for simple breakfast dishes, eg boiled egg and toast and eggs on toast.

Very unclear on how we were supposed to order food. Then got told it was self service. Once we ordered via self service, where then told we shouldn't have ordered what we did because it wasn't available....!? Also, staff were having a very loud public conversation about their thoughts and feelings towards people they know, and actions they took over the weekend. Very unprofessional considering everyone including children could hear it.

A supermarket cafe..no more, no less. Good range and generous portions. No complaints at all. Will use again.

I give this Diner a Full Star Rating for the Food and Quality,,,, However Customer Service is Rubbish. Never any Help from a Member of Staff. I'm sure that the Same Emplyee is at the Till, cleaning Down and Cooking all at the same Time. Put more Staff on it plz.

Very busy, not sure whether the speed of preparation is slow or lack of serving staff

Well, before I comment on the Cafe; I must say that I was extremely disappointed to hear that the Brew Bar would be closing down on 30th April. This is a lovely spot, with really very nice, helpful and friendly staff. This offered a variety of sweet and savoury snacks and fresh brewed coffee with alternative mk options. I feel that it is a short-sighted plan. The café is nice and offers hot meals, In addition to sweet and savoury snacks. However, they could not fulfill my request for a soya milk decaf late! But thet did source soya milk from the closed Brew Bar for me to have black decaf coffee with milk which was very kind of them.

BEST BITS.. FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST. Couldn't fault it! excellently cooked, perfect egg and bacon, meal was hot when it came out. REALLY GOOD, large MUSHROOM. BAD BIT- 2 staff in kitchen, often noone at the til.

Good value for money grub. The fish, chips and beans were all piping hot. The mocha coffee was nice. Apple crumble and cream was also very nice.

What's not to love for a brekkie

Today I created my own breakfast I had mushroom, tomato, beans, poached eggs and, bacon well the only thing remotely nice about it was the bacon but on the small side, mushroom was big but not cook enough hard on cutting in centre, egg was solid, beans runny and tasteless the grilled tomato I use that word loosely as it appeared cut in half shown the grill for like few seconds and whipped on plate poor quality come on Morrisons you have and can do better

Don't waste your money! Came and it was all cold! Over half of it went in the bin! My husband didnt even eat his! Our order was over £27.00! And just eat only gave us back £10.39! It's not worth it don't waste your money!

Went for breakfast, all the fresh cups, tea pots and cutlery were dirty, only one person serving and clearing up, guy who brought food out just slameed it on the table and virtually threw the sauces at us. Won't go there again!

Our delivery was late initally howevet, the driver stopped to pick up other orders and made our delivery even later so it wasn't overly hot and just warm

I think it's a bit much when we had a bacon roll it cost another 99p for one mushroom to go in it never again

Odd, it was cold, basic furniture, had a canteen vibe, very self service and yet simple and good food. So I am on the side of like it, but do expect much.

Staff are ran off their feet. Good breakfast but not if your in a rush.

Got the order wrong the first time round so had to queue up again and reorder. The bacon roll was hot and fresh. However the coffee machine gave me half a cup of cappuccino, which tasted slightly burnt. Plenty of seating and good prices.

My food was really cold and it was disgusting

Ordered at 3.15 for delivery at 5pm, we were disappointed time wasn't met thsnkfully on this occasion it wasn't an issue. However, food was warm, well presented, and tasty. Will def order again.

Ordered a small breakfast today at 11h30 and took 55 minutes to get the food. Obviously understaffed on a Sunday morning when they probably know it's going to be busy and surprisingly the cafe was half full. Won't return

Breakfast was lovely, the toast was delicious and it was a decent portion size too, liked that the beans came separate

Food ok but service terrible nobody on till and all orders had to be done on touch screen which doesn't help older customers and anyone like myself who wanted to pay cash I saw several people walk away including one elderly lady who wanted to buy breakfast for herself and disabled husband but couldn't find a member of staff to help

Me and my partner went there today wasn't happy with our food or the services. My partner food was cold the time it got to him and i had order a southern fried chicken burger it didn't come in bun and my chicken was over cooked. We done our order on the machine and it didn't state you had to get you own drinks. I only found out coz i asked someone. Definitely wont be visiting again.

Last week ,had wonderful fish and chips ,was faultless, today a week later ,what a disappointment seemed to be hardly any staff ,and bloke on till about as much use as mudflaps on a tortoise , painfully slow service and food when it arrived barely warm ,despite telling them at till about certain requests still couldn't get it right , some of us had our food and other meal returned to kitchen to be corrected ,come on morrisons get ya act together

Terrible food compared to other Morrisons cafes. No staff to be found, so had to order on the self-service kiosk. Food took almost 30 minutes, despite cafe not being busy. People who ordered after us received their food first. No staff available to complain to when we realised how awful the food was. Bacon was burnt and completely rock solid on one of the meals. Black pudding was missing. Poached egg was hard boiled, rather than having a soft yolk. Hash brown was overcooked and brown on the sides. Mushroom should've been a flat mushroom, but instead received a number of button mushrooms. For the fish and chips, it clearly wasn't freshly battered (more like one of the frozen portions) and was served with tinned peas.

Don't bother coming here unless you have the time to wait 45mins on a breakfast. After ordering and waiting 45 minutes i witnessed 1 meal served to an induvidual. The cafè wasn't particularly busy, a total of 5 tables taken including mine. Whilst i understand writing a review is to support businesses, on this occasion it is to advise others they will have a better experience elsewhere. Once a memeber of staff emerged,i had the courtesy to cancel my breakfast as i had to leave. No apologies, explaination or even an offer of a refend. I just left for what it was worth.

Love eating a breakfast here on a morning. You can order your food either by till or on a touchscreen as you enter and your food is out very quickly. not to mention that me being the fussy eater I am, I am very pleased with the 'create your own' breakfast option, in which you just select everything you want on your plate and they bring you your own breakfast. its a lot easier than having to ask to swap things out like you would with most cafes
