Morrisons in South Tyneside

Old and badly designed store with more miserable looking security guards then miserable looking staff. You have to walk 5 miles to get in to the store past a narrow corridor as entrance is right at the other end of store. You are told not to enter through the tills by angry staff and when you have finally got in to the store you can not get out if you have bought nothing as you are gated in and the alcohol is in locked glass cupboards. You then wait for 20 minutes to be bossed about by a talking till that never works as most of the staff tills have gone. Feels like being in Alcatraz and you are treated like you have done something wrong rather then a valued customer so not exactly a pleasurable shopping experience so now shop at Asda.

Absolutely disgusting service had to wait over 20 mins for a sandwich but staff who came after us got there meal more or less straight away .

The food was quite tasty and reasonably priced. The waitress however was miserable and couldn't be bothered to take the table number out of the holder but asked us to do it. The gents toilets were not up to standard. The floor looked as though it had several layers of covering all of them worn through in various places and far from clean. There was no soap in the dispenser despite the maintenance sheet having been signed to say that everything had been checked regularly. On the escalator to the shopping level there were numerous missing panels in the low ceiling revealing dirt, wires and other things. Potential hazard to users. It seems the management aren't on top of the maintenance side of the store.

Was told there was a 15 minute wait for a sandwich and a cappuccino.Nobody told me you had to help yourself to hot drinks.Sat for over half an hour.When she came with the sand ich it was not what I ordered.Got up and left,terrible service!

Female employee who was working on the self scam had an absolutely disgusting attitude. Quite old, short hair and glasses. Spoke to the couple at the self checkout next to us in the rudest tone of voice all because they took something off the scale too soon. Then proceeded to come over to us huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes. Wouldn’t think she was getting paid to work there, I work in customer service myself and have dealt with some pretty frustrating customers but would never dare speak to anyone that way.

Awful got order wrong and refused to change it meals lukewarm and gravy very salty. Will not return and do not reccommend

Absolutely abysmal, Nothing has any labels to say what they are when choosing toppings just have to guess which ones which, no prices , and no veg toppings available at all apart from 1 portion of mushrooms and a couple of mixed peppers ! This was at 4.30 counter is open till 8.30 ! What is the point of this counter !

My son has a sausage sandwich, I have the full English and my grand daughter has a child's breakfast plus whatever she can steal from my plate. My grand daughter is not yet 2 years old but she insist on feeding herself with a spoon and fork so things can sometimes get a bit messy, we clean up as best we can but the staff never complain about the mess and always give her a smile when we enter ( and probably give a sigh of relief when we leave).

Lovely place near town for lunch before doing some shopping. I had fish and chips one time, and a breakfast meal one day both we’re lovely and service was good.

Was about to loose out on a big deal at self checkout but Simon came to the rescue and mentioned the better deal to us and politely got me the item on deal. Was a huge help and couldn’t thank him enough.

Food was absolutely awful,would Not recommend and after ordering was told pizza wasn’t available only ham and mushroom,asked if I could just have ham as don’t like mushroom to be told sorry no we don’t prepare no food we get it received as it is, so as a family of 5 only 2 managed to get food!!! Absolutely appalling!!! Don’t waste time or money going!!!

Bacon was raw and prices where actually expensive for the quality served… defo wont rush to come here again, overall, the staff where friendly

Full breakfast was lukewarm at best. Black pudding was dry and inedible bacon was 90% fat. One slice as pale as anything the second slice burnt. We got told on asking that we could order at the table using the qr code. Sat down and the app said this restaurant was not taking online orders. Asked at the counter when ordering breakfast the same girl that told us we could order at the table said “no we aren’t taking orders online due to only having 2 staff”. No tomato sauce in the sauce container and was told they would get some after me being served. Breakfast came, hubby got up to get the sauce - still none. Instead we got a ramekin quarter filled with some from a bottle and no brown sauce “due to only being two staff on”. I only ate my breakfast as I was hungry but couldn’t eat the bacon or black pudding as they were unpalatable

Been in here today .Food average for Morrisons.The problem was the staff. EITHER NO MASK OR VISORS IN USE. Where they did have masks being used a chin warmer or under the nose. COME on Morrisons buck things up.

I asked was it the 4th October, trace and track, I got the 5th I checked this morning. I asked whether the Wi-Fi was working to mainly why my business. I got a different reply. I ask what is going on in South Shields workers how come they stuck being wrong? It is the 5th today and the Wi-Fi had connection though either weren't working for what the customer had said the 4th and am I right.

very poor first of all egg burst then undercooked bacon then overcooked sausages then a big clump crust of fried bread tough as old boots and not fried mushrooms beans and coffee ok overall 2/10 will not be returning !!!! have tk say i did eat it all pury as i was starving and did not have time to complain. WORST BREKKIE FOR A LONG TIME SINCE KIRKPATRICKS NO MORE VISITS TO M's for me

We find there is more to visit than Morrison's supermarket, there is an outdoor market that's definitely worth going to and there is a fantastic Market view restaurant that sells homemade food at fantastic prices, I give this restaurant top marks for food and service. As you go towards the beach area there is a fairground for kids and a lovely promenade, there is also a park with play areas and large pond and boating area and mini railway for kids and adults.Ocean road has lots of restaurants including Morrison's but please give all of South Shields a chance.

overall service is going down. Has gradually deteriorated over the past months. The coffee in particular is tasteless. The cappuccino and mocha used to be nice but tastes only of milk and even that has little flavour. We have complained a number of times but nothing is done

Never disappointed here. Half chicken, chips and peas at the table before we were! Love Susan on the till! She always goes the extra mile to make sure she's got the order right so you won't be disappointed. Grub cooked to perfection. Lots of it...

We came for a snack but I wish I'd gone elsewhere. Morrison's is usually our supermarket café of choice, but our coffee was weak and watery and my lemon meringue pie was tasteless. However my husband enjoyed his BLT sandwiches. Disappointing.
