Trying to be like a restaurant when it's a cafe - a cafe, in, a, supermarket. You now have to sit down at a table before you can go up and order. So, even if you know what you want by looking at the menu on the way in, you have to go and find a table first, then get back up to go and order.....food came out cold, the toast was dry, the butter was hard and the bacon was still mooing it was that undercooked. Took 25 minutes to serve two breakfasts - 25 minutes! Also, you now have to tip the beans onto the plate yourself - instead of them actually being on the plate, they are now in a ramekin pot on the plate....ridiculous. If you do go to the cafe, they do have a new game to keep you entertained, it's called 'find the clock' - spoiler alert - it's behind the hanging sign above the microwave which you can only see from a few tables. Make sure you take anti bac wipes too. This is so you can wipe down the dirty condiment bottles on the tables before you use them. Why pay for the expensive hot drinks when you can just pay for the cheapest one and then pour yourself whatever drink you like when you get to the machines too. You can also help yourself to however many cups you want too......not the greatest thought through idea Morrisons *thumbs up*.

Called in for drinks around lunch time.We were given little pots of coffee cream, fine for coffee but not tea. I went and asked an assistant if I could have fresh milk and she said they didn't have any?? In a supermarket!! Hard to believe. She was rather rude and said she would find some, Sure enough she came back with a used jug of milk from a table where people had been eating. Unhelpful, rude and would not recommend to anybody. Must be better places in the town.

We have eaten happily and well at various Morrisons restaurants over the years, but never with an experience such as ours yesterday. It was a cold day and rather late for lunch - just after 1pm. We found ourselves being pushed along, tray in action for this, by the customer behind us. We couldn't move any more quickly as the orders before ours were taking time. Breakfasts were all-day meals, being plated up and held in a warming area prior to being taken to the seated customers for those meals. Orders for toast and cooked meals continued. We were kindly told by the assistant at the till that we would be waiting for our scampi & chips and burger with side salad as all food is cooked from fresh - good news. How that included the breakfasts we didn't ask. Finding a table became a jungle hunt. Without exception, all tables were occupied, no fewer than five by those who had not yet paid for their meal. (Foolishly) we had both waited in the queue. We began the process of asking if we may share a table, but had no success. Kindly, a lady stood up to finish her drink - we insisted that she didn't rush. But small dirty table we did eventually have, the morning's detritus thereon, not from the previous customer. After a 20 minute wait, we checked the time on our till receipt. Tables of customers around us had received no food. The food did begin to arrive, only one assistant was bringing food out as fast as she could carry it. The nature of the food did not create delay; toast was as long a wait as cooked burgers in the wait we saw. We asked the assistant quietly and politely about seating policy. She would ask the manager about this. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT - THANK YOU. All fresh salad and coleslaw and a wonderful burger. The scampi was all good too. The waitress did return with an apology from the manager, who recognized that seating was an issue here. A new, extended restaurant is due next year, which may help with this branch's lunchtime popularity. I do hope that more staff will be employed for that as today, the staff were working flat out and with professionalism. All said, we will try Morrison's restaurant at Rugeley on our weekly trip into Staffordshire.

The staff are friendly and there is a good selection of products. The fruit can be a hit or miss though. Overall, it's still worth a shop

I had a two course Christmas dinner here, for 6.50 large portions, prawn cocktail was especially nice.

Got there before 9am and asked for poached eggs. The reply was sorry we don't have poached eggs. Only fried. What does this mean? Chef on holiday? Or do they buy poached eggs, fried eggs chips etc ready cooked and just microwave them?

Highly recommend this pub/restaurant. 8 of us including a young child were made extremely welcome at a time when there was also a quiz night and the food and service were faultless. Between us we had starters including mushroom with goats cheese, duck spring rolls, calamari - empty plates all round. Then venison burgers, loin of venison, a lovely chicken dish, and choice of pizzas for the child. Everything cooked beautifully. I understand they now have an excellent team in the kitchen and we certainly can vouch for what we had. A great meal, and we are looking forward to returning.
