Lovely place. so nice to have a pub (and staff) who care about the history of the place they are in. I think I was 1 of about a dozen sets of tourist this lunchtime who asked about the old prison and the staff gleefully filled us all in. Food was delicious and service excellent too

Came here for a roast with some friends and it was probably one of the most disappointing ones, I've had. The meat was overdone (all of ours) the veg were bland, the gravy watery, the Yorkshire pudding burnt and the cauliflower cheese just not nice in taste or texture. The glasses were dirty and the service slow. The food also didn't come at the same time probably due to them being understaffed. There was already no pork by 3:30pm. Very disappointing and definitely not worth coming for.

The Morpeth Arms is such a great find! It’s a cozy, old-school pub with a really friendly vibe. The views of the Thames are a nice touch, and the staff make you feel right at home. They’ve got a solid selection of beers and the pub grub hits the spot—just what you want after a day out. If you’re after a proper London pub experience, this place is definitely worth a visit!

A great pub close to the river in a quiet residential area of Pimlico. Seating inside and outside and a private area to reserve upstairs. Good selection of drinks on tap and also food available. Went here for a family Sunday lunch. The staff couldn't have been nicer and Lucy even showed us the underground cells where prisoners were held before being sent to Australia (see picture). We had the roast beef which was a generous portion with all the trimmings ( including great roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding). The beer is Youngs with at least two guest ales and there was a nice selection of red wine too. It is worth wandering around the pub including the upstairs 'Spy Room' with pictures of infamous members of that profession and from where you can spy on the MI6 building across the river. Very convenient for Millbank, the Tate Gallery and parliament in this delightful part of London.

🚇 Pimlico 🍺£6.15 Estrella Lager ❤️ May was a trifle moist but with inside service now available it was time to venture out and start visiting our beloved London Pubs once again. My son and I decided to have a crawl around Pimlico and pub number 3 was the @morpetharms . This pub was built in 1845 on the site of what was Millbank prison ond is situated on the north bank of the Thames just by Vauxhall bridge. The Morpeth is an elegant looking Victorian pub which sits alongside similar looking grand victorian houses on Millbank. Inside the elegance continues with dark wood floors, sumptuous leather sofas and tasteful decoration throughout. The pub is set out over two floors, we were sat upstairs as downstairs was busy but sitting upstairs has a bonus. Upstairs there are great views across the Thames where you can see the MI6 HQ and the tower residential building. There are pictures on the wall of spy’s like Guy Burgess who was a double agent for the soviets back in the 30’s. We were sat at a corner table and ordered a couple of pints rather than vodka martinis ( oh Yesch) which didn’t take long to arrive. The clientele was a mixed bunch from all walks of life which was great to see as you could assume that this is a posh pub with posh punters, but it’s not. . If your visiting the Tate or sightseeing around vauxhall bridge, this @youngspub is well worth a visit, it’s a quality pub that delivers an excellent convivial pub experience. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 21/05/21

Visited this pub on the way to the Tate Britain Museum, which is only a five minute walk away. It's steeped in history connected to an old prison and spies. The upstairs dining room has views of MI6 and the Thames. I preferred to sit in the main bar downstairs as it was full of atmosphere, as it was a very busy aftetnoon. I was fortunate to get a table. The only letdown was the food. The chicken Leek pie had sold out so I opted for the bangers & crushed potatoes. The three sausages were fine, nothing special. The huge onion rings were crispy. The gravy was too thin. The new potatoes were so old I couldn't cut them. They had turned into dark rubber! I could have used them as plasticine! Thankfully there weren't too many of them. Other diners opted for small plates and I wish I had too. The chips, mac & cheese and brushetta looked much better than mine. The meal and one wine spritzer came to £25! 😒

Honestly my favourite go to dessert place. I went here several times with friends and family and will be eating here again. There’s lots of options to choose from but the only thing is that there’s a minimum of one order for each person so if your dining for 2, each person has to order something which is understandable but the portion size is quite large so if you can’t eat a lot and get full then it wouldn’t be such a great idea to come here unless your going with someone who can help you out.
