Unfortunately my pint was spilt by a wobbly table, the team argued with me that the table was wobbly but not enough to spill a pint. Now I am without a pint and still a wobbly table exists. The customer service is awful. I got told to pay for pint even though it wasn’t my fault. I then got started on by a bunch of men for trying to argue my point from my point of view and they were very confrontational. As a result I nearly got beaten up. I will not be going back as I do not feel comfortable or safe with the place.

We used to be regular visitors to Morgan’s for Breakfast since changing hands this has been disappointing to say the least. When you are told there are tomatoes no white bread and one week no eggs this really isn’t good when there is a market opposite where there products could have easily been purchased. We have now given it the benefit of the doubt 3 times and each time we were disappointed. Have now noticed that it has gone back to the name of the Exchange. Think they really need to sort things out we will not be going back.

Poor service. Three people, one serving (completely out of order), one wiping the benches continuously and pouring her own drink and the other scratching his arse looking useless. Have drank here plenty of times before and enjoyed it. Walked out tonight.

We used to come here all the time but since learning it was under new management in December 2018 we were dubious but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt as you most places are still great even with new management... Unfortunately this is not the case here, Morgan's that was the exchange hotel has gone and the Morgan's in its place is terrible... The food is no where near the level it should be, its greasy, presentation has clearly been launched out the window along with the hygiene standards, the table was sticky, the floor was sticky, the chairs were dirty, the customer toilets could have always done with a touch up and a little redecoration but they were always clean. This time I didnt even want to sit down, toilet paper crumbs over the floor, basins didn't look they had been cleaned for at least a day, all over the place didn't feel and look clean, although customer service was ok the prices have gone up but standards have gone down, we couldn't pay by card as the machines aren't working so one of us had to stay whilst the other went to draw out cash. It's just a shame as this place used to be lovely, it felt warm and welcoming when you walked in and you knew you were getting good value for money... Now I wouldn't send an enemy there... If downstairs is like this i can only imagine what the rooms must be like... I hope the new management team either get the act together and bring it all back up to the standard it should be or get out because they clearly have no idea what they're doing.

Called in on the off chance , waited an age for our food , arrived luke warm thrown on the plate undercooked fish and tasteless , received a refund but will not return , bad cooking skills , should of been better as very quiet and a Saturday before xmas

A friend had booked a table for 4 at 5pm, I arrived with another friend and we said we had a table booked, the Bartender had to go outside to check with the manager and came back to agree. He was pleasant and offered us drinks £1.20 for small lime and soda! When the other two arrived we were shown to our table and given menus, after making our choices 2 of us were told the Christmas burgers were not available and could we choose again. I chose Mushrooms on toast. The starters were ok although the Brocoli n Stilton soup needed stirring well. My main was a CHUNK Of bread at least 3 inches thick soaked in garlic butter which I could eat due to fat oozing out, I asked for extra bread which took at least 5 minutes to arrive. The mushrooms were tasty but the grease was over whelming. The vegetable with the Turkey were underdone and hard. The only meal that was good was the Cod Loin. The “Chef “ seemed to think it was funny we complained! But we didn’t even mention the 3 bags of rubbish removed from the kitchen past us when we were eating. We did get a discount of 15% on total bill, but we were saddened by the shoddy cooking skills in some areas. My two friends work within food hospitality in Shrewsbury and were not enthralled with several aspects of service and staff attitudes towards us, especially the smirking chef. We had read such good reviews so we’re left feeling very disappointed, but we realised we were the only 4 people eating that evening. At 6.55pm,customers enjoying a drink we’re told it was lastorders as the staff were tired and had a busy Christmas period ahead of them.

We popped into Morgans on a Saturday afternoon for a drink. This is a lovely place. It's very light and airy with wooden floors throughout. It was quiet when we visited as it was in between lunch and dinner, so there were a few people in just having a chill out and a drink. The service was friendly and a good variety of drink to choose from.

Pleasant service provided with the right amount of contact, I had the full English with the extra £3 to double it up. My fiancée had the regular which was a sensible size and adequate for the average gal. Lattes were good and hot, which is rare from these automated coffee machines. All in all, I would have to rate this excellent, thankyou for a nice breakfast Morgans.

I enjoyed my breakfast, it was tasty. The tables were dirty though: sticky, and with bits of food stuck to the edges from the night before. The place did not look clean.

We popped into Morgan's as we'd never been before and the on-line menu suggested a good range of food for both vegetarians and meat eaters. My wife had a Quorn based cottage pie which she loved and the chilli was out of this world. Highly recommended.

went for a family lunch, food was nice and prices were average. not a massive choice on the menu but a good selection. staff were friendly.

My partner and I went to the first Caribbean themed night last night. The food was great. We both had the spinach, aubergine, sweet potato and kidney bean curry. It was really nice. I don't normally eat curry, but this was really tasty, hot, but not overpowering. I also sampled the goat curry which was also great. I don't know of any other place locally that offers this selection of food. Well worth a try.

We had a drink here on a Saturday night. It needed more tables and chairs, however we just about managed to seat 10 of us! The music was quite loud, but you could still just about hear each other. They had a local band on which were very pleasant too.

Called in to have s light bite they offer 2 for 10.00 mini snacks thought was a good deal. Chilli n rice was quiet nice the fish and chips on arrival to table was so strong a smell I couldn’t eat it. Not sure what fish it was lesson learnt always ask. The staff did ask if everything’s is ok I didn’t want to complain or cause a fuss. Hot chocolate is fab full marks fir that Latte not so good Staff were polite and nice seating comfortable

We have always enjoyed the food here. And the decor has always been welcoming. However, we were disappointed at our latest visit. It seems dark and uninviting, more a place for drinkers that to sit and have a pleasant meal. The fact that there are fewer tables, and more standing room says it most. We were met by the overpowering smell of last night's beer, and a distinct lack of service. We Sat and waited, while a young lady wandered by a couple of times, then disappeared. I went to the bar, and stood, while the lone barman sauntered past and outside to collect glasses ( I knew this by the fact that he returned with several, some couple of minutes later). I ordered our food and drink and waited...and waited. It was not worth the wait. I will be giving here a miss for a while. Probably a great place for a drink, but they obviously feel no need to temp people in for food.

A couple of beers and lunch. Okay, but not outstanding. Service with a smile would be nice. Certainly quiet, lacking a bit of atmosphere.

Comimos en este restaurante cada par de semanas y hemos tenido algunas comidas realmente precioso. Siempre comida consistentemente bueno, muy bien preparado. Buen servicio del personal y un módico precio. Tienen algunas ofertas Miércoles, Jueves y viernes por la noche y vale la pena una visita.

El Morgans es uno de esos lugares que no parece ser mucho desde el exterior, pero es muy agradable en el interior. Mi esposa y yo visitamos un sábado por la tarde y el bar estaba a media completa. Cuando fui al bar para tomar bebidas no había personal y algunos clientes esperando a ser servidos, siempre pienso que no hay personal en el bar es imperdonable. Después de unos minutos llegamos y personal dos empezaron a servir. Esta fue nuestra primera vez comer aquí. Nos fuimos a tomar algo la semana pasada y había un camarero pedidos en las mesas. Ayer tuve que pedir en el bar. La comida tardó mucho tiempo en llegar (30 minutos más) teniendo en cuenta que éramos la única gente comiendo. Sin embargo, cuando llegue estaba muy bien y era claramente recién preparado así mitigar el tiempo que tardamos en llegar.

Comimos aquí con los compañeros de trabajo. Buen ambiente y personal muy agradable. No tienen una entrada, aunque había algunas buenas opciones que suenan. Tenía solomillo para principal, lo que estaba preparado a mi gusto, que venía con una salsa y guarnición patatas fritas y uso que eran un poco exageradas. Probamos uno de los cócteles, que era muy agradable. Comida decente, no habría ningún problema en regresar.

Taken here by friends for wine and dine option. Food very good and service excellent, nice touch the doggy bottle for those in our group who wanted to take some of their wine home. Lovely decor, lively but not too noisy, lovely atmosphere.

La comida era excelente en el vino y el menú de cena. Servicio de reserva para nosotros salir de Morgan era excelente, el personal muy profesional, nada era demasiado problema. Vino pudimos llevar a casa ya que teníamos, no borrachos todo buen toque.

Fuimos allí como cerca del hotel. Buena bienvenida y selección de vinos enviar cerveza. Nos dijeron que nos podíamos sentar donde queríamos. Una buena selección de comida, pero me hubiera gustado haber ofertas especiales señaló a nosotros. Habiendo dicho que buena comida abundante y excelente servicio. Obviamente utilizada por gente así que siempre es una buena señal. Volvería.

My friend and I decided to lunch at Morgans. Atmosphere and staff friendly. We did find the menu to be a little limited with lunch items but on the recommendation of another diner we opted to share the Smorgansboard! ! Wow. It consisted of small portions of all the food on the starter menu. Everything was so tasty and cooked perfectly. The coffee was also very palatable. Will definitely visit again but would be nice if they had a wider choice of sandwiches and wraps.

Ten of us staying for a week, as we did last October. Stumbled across Wine and Dine night last visit and were really pleased that it still exists on Thursday evening. Great value and a fantastic way to enjoy our last evening together again.

First time visit to Shrewsbury today and plumped to eat in Morgans and what a relief.Opted for Chili and Rice and we were well impressed with the taste and quality of the food.We will return to eat here in the future

We opted to have a coffee in Morgan's and decided to have a spot of lunch whilst here.The coffee was warm at best and slow to be served.The food was good but sadly the service was lacking and let the whole visit down.I have visited Morgan's before and had good food and good service so please sort it out and go back to you're good ways.

Went for spur of the moment late lunch. Thought that the limited menu was a good sign although a little doubtful that it was a 'permanent' menu card. Decided against fish of the day hake because it was served with 5 bean sauce. (out of a bottle?) We both opted for coq au vin and ordered some green veg on the side as none at all on the menu. The coq had never smelt the vin let alone been cooked in it. What we had was roast chicken joints with a mushroom sauce . The green veg was frozen peas! Despite the hype on the wine list the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc was ordinary and the kiwis have nothing to worry about after all. I wonder what the chef's are actually cooking and preparing. The website photo's are very out of date, not only has the decor changed but the food too.

I recently visited here with my husband. It was xmas holidays and there was hardly anyone in there. My husband ordered a burger and I ordered a small fish cakes. We waited for about 50 minutes. When it finally arrived the fish cakes were tiny. I know I ordered small but for the price I expected a bit more. Also they were practically all potatoes no fish. The staff didn't come over to ask how the food was so I didn't get the opportunity to complain. I complained when leaving and the staff didn't seem to be bothered. Very slow service especially as the restaurant was empty. I can only imagine how slow they'd be if it was full.

Had my work Christmas party here. The food was ok, but not good value for money at £26 per head. The main course was particularly disappointing, with very small portions of overcooked potatoes/veg in communal bowls on our tables, and not really enough to go around. Service was very slow, so some people had almost finished eating by the time others received their food. The bar area is very crowded and noisy, and the noise levels spilled over into the open plan eating area. Finally, I was not comfortable with the high stool I was allocated to sit on, at the end of a table, and had to move to a more comfortable seat. I hope never to return.

We came to Morgan's expecting a good meal considering it was £28 the portion size was awful for a main course the pig in blanket was pink in the middle and there was hardly any veg as it was put in a bowl in the middle of the tables the waitress did not once smile and looked as if she two was ashamed by the meal I hope that if I do ever come again it is improved massively !!

My first visit to Morgans. Came by chance as my wife is a member of a group which decided to have their Christmas meal there. Bit cheaper in November I believe.Nice venue. Had a beer downstairs then went with the group into a private room upstairs. Lovely three course meal - excellent value. Friendly service. Not too long to wait for courses despite being a large group.Had the turkey and christmas pud, as you do. Very enjoyable.

Was wandering around Shrewsbury with a lady friend on a cold Sunday lunchtime and got hungry, as you do. The first two places we tried were booked up, and this one just had one table for two!Staff very friendly, took drinks order, 2 pints of Shropshire Gold very nice indeed. We both had the same meal, a spiced squash soup, which was pleasantly spiced, and lovely and thick. Then we had roast beef. The beef was beautifully cooked, fell apart on the tongue. The accompanying vegetables could have done with being a tad warmer, but they were busy. The roast parsnips were underdone. But a good meal overall, and plenty of it. And we were not hurried back out into the cold!

Morgans is very nicely done out with a varied choice of seating and a good menu. We had lunch which was lovely and the service was quick and very good. Good choice of drinks too.

We have used Morgan's over the past few years and for a while the standard of the food dropped, but over the last few months the food is now excellent every time I've eaten here, last night we had a Stilton and mushroom risotto which was perfect. Two weeks ago we had one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The best thing I can say is I would go back anytime.

We popped in for lunch today. We thought the lunch menu was a little limited but as we had made ourselves comfortable we decided to stay. I ordered a prawn baguette but after checking with the kitchen was informed baguettes were not on the menu. However they did say they could serve the prawns in ciabatta which actually turned out to be much nicer than a baguette. My daughter chose a Thai chicken wrap which she thoroughly enjoyed and my husband also enjoyed his prawn wrap. The side order of chips were hot and crispy. The service was a little slow. We had to wait quite a while for our drinks when we first went in and they weren't particularly busy, and also had to wait fairly long for our bill. Although the service was not too good the staff were very friendly and personable. My husband was very pleased with his Irish coffee and my Pimms and lemonade was one of the best, crammed with strawberries and cucumber.

Had a light breakfast and cappucinos at the exchange , good service and nice food , interior is pleasant and has a small pavement outdide seating area.

I have literally just popped into Morgan's for a breakfast. I went in at 11.30 on the basis outside it said breakfast until 11.30. When I asked the waitress if I could have breakfast she checked her watch. At the same time a young man came over and said it was too late.The place was half empty and it always amazes me when people turn away business. I guarantee neither of the people I met owned the business, if they did they would have responded more positively.I then went around the corner and got a very nice breakfast at 'Off the Square'.

One of the great tests of a restaurant is how it cooks a seemingly simple meal. I think we all have tails of dry chicken, rubber fish and beef of leather but sometimes a simple meal is exactly what you fancy, especially at lunchtime. Lunchtime hunger was the reason my partner and I found ourselves in Morgans and it lifted my spirits as soon as I entered the establishment. Greeted immediately by a highly professional member of staff we were soon seated with our drinks and looking through the menu. For some inexplicable reason we were both confident enough to order fillet steak, an extravagance, but we felt like a treat. This meal was one of the best I have ever had in a restaurant (including Michelin starred). From the hand cooked chips to the beautiful herby tomato and the impeccable medium rare steak everything was perfect, and the sauce my partner opted for was velvet on the tongue. The reduction of the stock to make this must have taken hours of slow bubbling. It will probably drive me mad attempting to replicate its flavour, but that's the fun of enjoying both cooking and eating well.I urge anyone who visits Shrewsbury to eat at this restaurant. The exterior may seem bland (indeed, the building used to be a dreadful chain pub) but the food is far superior to that of it's more expensive rivals in the more 'select' parts of the town centre.

Went in for lunch today great reception from staff and service throughout. Fantastic Smorgansboard with sweet potato fries. Would recommend to all, great place for a nice lunch with family. Many thanks Matt and team on duty.

We asked for cheese on toast for lunch, which was not on the menu, no problem and it was fantastic. Promptly booked for the following day for dinner. Brilliant meal, we had their own beefburger, Thai curry which was just as good as when we were in Thailand and a two meat roast with such a good portion that my husband could not finish it, most unusual. Would thoroughly recommend as besides the food being fantastic the staff were charming.

We came for a friends birthday and it's the first time I've been since the refurb and the place looks amazing. The food was lovely and the group seemed to enjoy it. Nice wine on offer and just a lovely place to come for drinks, food or both. My only criticism is that we had the room upstairs but we had circle tables pushed together which looked messy unlike the normal square tables that we have had on previous visits.However I love this place and the staff are hard working and friendly.Thanks for a great night

Firstly, what a fantastic refurb. The place definitely gives the other establishments in town a run for their money.Really lovely friendly ambiance, and great attentive service.We had a Sunday lunch which was all cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth beef and exceptional size and value.We would highly recommend food and drinks here. Sunday lunch was accompanied by a bottle of Rose, perfect. Sunday roast, drinks, ambience and service was faultless.Cannot recommend enough to all friends and family. Wouldn't go anywhere else for lunch in town!!!

Just finished a delicious Red Pepper & Aubergine Thai Curry with Coconut Rice, Rocket Salad & Sweet Potatoes, my first visit to Morgan's at the Exchange Hotel and can highly recommend it. Delicious curry, freshly cooked, succulent, aromatic and perfectly cooked. Chic & classy atmosphere, great mix of modern and traditional furnishings, with comfy leather chairs, wood burner and slate chimney breast, staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. Great meal for £10 - £15 5 stars!

Last visited about 9 months ago and has had a refurb since then, in fact only opened one week before we ate thereRevamped menu which to be frank I much preferred the old menu but of course that is a matter of taste. Service was a bit on the slow side as only 2 servers were available which at peak times (lunch on a Friday) may not be enough to take care of all the customers. Food was mediocre at best but edible.New refurbishment is nothing out of the ordinary, but nice all the same. Just wish they had kept the hatch to the kitchen open as this sometimes gives a feeling of "openness".Will I go back , not for quite a while as there are lots of good eating places in Shrewsbury which are on par and better than the new Morgans

Went as part of a Christmas party but decided not to have the traditional Christmas meal so went for a fish alternative as I so love fish. I was not disappointed I started with the smoked salmon roulade and followed with the Hake fillet both were excellent, beautifully prepared and well presented. The Hake was cooked perfectly and just melted in your mouth. Although I don't live locally I would certainly visit again. Thank you Morgan's best Christmas meal I've had this year your staff are a credit.

We decided to go to Morgan’s again for our company Christmas night out after being so well looked after last time.Once again we were extremely well catered for, the food was considered excellent by everyone, nothing could have been improved upon with our meals. Not only was the food fantastic but it was very well priced too.The service was also very good, especially considering just how busy the bar was. We were never left waiting and the staff could not have done more for us.

As a large party, we enjoyed using the upstairs dining room. We he'd excellent service and, as always one of the best steaks in Shrewsbury

We went to Morgan's to have tea last night at 6pm straight from work, mad Friday. We were sat near to the chef preping area, away from the cheery rather loud revellers they having just finished work. There were three of us, we had the fillet steak and prosecco deal. Two of us had the blue cheese sauce too. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful, should of asked who their butcher is. We had desserts to follow which were also excellent. It's not the first time we have had excellent food at this establishment. Compliments to the suburb chef and the other staff, and a happy joyous Christmas to you all . We shall definitely be returning.

This was the first time we have dined at Morgans and it really wont be the last. Wondering around Shrewsbury town for Sunday lunch Morgans took our fancy. We were welcomed by really helpful and friendly staff. Service was excellent and the Sunday lunch was superb. Better than the Armoury in town and Morgans is great value too! Really enjoyed the food, drinks and surroundings. Will be coming here for our lunches on a regular basis. Thanks

I love this place for steak on steak/grill night great value for money with a bottle of wine too! The best steaks in town and amazing peppercorn sauce. Good staff and nice atmosphere.

Had a lunch here and found it was very nice. Not many tables to be fair but the surroundings are clean and fresh, not overcrowded which is what I prefer. Worth a visit.

Lovely Bar and Restaurant welcoming and helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble for them. My wife and I had a two course and three course Sunday Lunch which was beautifully cooked and presented. Nice bar area with newspapers to sit and relax afterwards with fresh coffee if you want. If you are in Shrewsbury give it a try, the Burgers here are a treat.

On holiday in Shrewsbury and looking for lunch, decided to try Morgans and on entry we were pleasently surprised, nice place! Service was good, but seemed frantuc even though it wasn't busy, food was nice also, and were thinking if having anither drink, when a group arrived with a very noisy child, who proceeded to run around literaly screaming, we assumed that they were friends of the owners as the staff just ignored the fact and we left, such a shame we would have stayed and maybe returned.

I visited with my husband and family for a round of drinks. This is a very tastefully decorated place with plenty of places to sit. Three drinks cost £8 which we considered to be reasonable compared with other watering holes in Shrewsbury.The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was fun but not loud to the point where you had to shout to each other. The toilets were upstairs and were immaculate, not bad for a Saturday evening! We'll definitely go back when in town.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Small bar menu but the food we had was absolutely fantastic. Great service from very friendly and attentive staff. Nice clean venue. Would definitely recommend. Very good value for money compared to other places in Shrewsbury.

Pros: Food was tasty and good value for the price. Great decor. Beef was tender.Cons: Meal came out bit by bit with delays between each part!!, another table being served at same time, whilst waiting for veg and roasts, beef and mash went cold. Strange not to serve one table fully at a time and therefore it all being warm! See previous reviews, long waits, food served in stages! So not a first.Entered bar, relatively quiet, lady serving at bar, smiled. No greeting/front of house. A simple, "someone will be with you shortly" from anyone would have been good. Waited by bar to be acknowledged. Restaurant decor was great, with lovely seating areas.Table was found for us, drinks order taken at table and bought to us, all ok so far. Order taken, long wait for food, no idea of timescales given at order, but I am happy to wait for fresh food. Just say if will be a while?When dinner finally came, 2 x sunday roast beef, 1 child roast beef, 1 child burger, all looked ok (no parsnip on mine but hey ho!) Then we waited....another table being served, so then we waited....Then our veg came, at one point we just started to tuck in, knowing our food was going cold, told roast potatoes would be there soon....then we waited.....they arrived midway through meal (the girl who served them, took one plate to a neighboring table then went to the bar with "ours" to find out where they should be. When they arrived, just a few pale, hard and cold roasts were presented.I asked for some hot gravy, this arrived promptly, heated up the food on the plates.I explained to one girl, it would be better for the food to be served all together at once, she naively said "Well I was serving the other table too" totally missing my point.Polite bar girl asked if all was ok when clearing table, I stated yes but.....She went to kitchen to explain, came back with apology and stated roast potatoes had been dropped on floor hence delay? but offerred 10% discount. I am not bothered about a discount, just get the service and communication right, the food would have been excellent!! Why sent out a meal if not ready?? To top it all, the bill, with 10% off, was bought to table (I had NOT asked for the bill), I asked could the kids have their ice-cream? (kids get one scoop with their meal), so we were then served that, no-one asked us (the adults) if we wanted desserts.Overview, pleasant young staff, some could do with more training, GREAT food which could be better served warm, COMMUNICATE, tell your customers what is happening, if there will be delay. Also, greet them upon entry to your restaurant, even if busy! Not sure if bad luck on the day.....Would I go back? would love too if I knew service will be better.

We've been a variety of times as a couple & with the children. Staff are warm & welcoming, Sunday roast is REALLY good - amazing gravy & really reasonable. We go at least once a month!

Whilst I have not eaten here I have been quite a lot recently, the bar and bar staff are both clean and polite. There is a very good selection of wines and beers. Enjoy

Really lovely meal, really tasty and very reasonably priced at £13 for two courses. Staff were good and made an effort with my 7 year olold. Booked a table, but it wasn't too busy. I'll be going again soon. J

We ate here on the Tusday grill night offer at the end of our Easter weekend away. Had one of the best fillet steaks ever! We have eaten here a few times (at dinner and lunchtimes) always had a great meal with good service, thanks

Went there on Tuesday the 7th when they do there grilled night special! What absolutely gorgeous! I had steak and it was the best steak I've ever had, it was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth! The chips were very nice and the salad dressing was amazing! Also lovely staff! The girl who took our order was very good at her job! I will return here again and will defiantly recommend it to my friends!

came here on our wedding anniversary on a quick overnight to the town of my birth. We arrived and were taken quickly to our table by friendly staff, everything was efficient and helpful.I had the gammon tegine and my wife had the shrimp. The tegine itself was fine but having overly salty potato chips didn't work and though presentation was good over all it was nothing special. The shrimp was too cold so the butter had set hard and was really difficult to eat.My wife had a salad for main which was of a good standard however inclusion of tomatoes with fig and goats cheese didn't match in her opinion. I had a dish called noise totes of lamb, I suggest the chef does a quick google on the term, de boned cutlets are not noise totes. Meat was very tasty so that was good but not properly trimmed. Potatoes and jus were good but roasted pepers and what I think we're aubergines are fruits not vegetables so the promise of roasted veg was not fulfilled. Finished off with chocolate brownie which was dry and needed more sauce. Wine was overpriced for what it was.Overall staff were excellent but meal was at least 20% overpriced and food needs a lot of work, we did give some direct feedback but would have been embarrassing to keep giving it for everything.

Visited Morgans yesterday lunchtime. We were a bit disappointed as there wasn't much on the menu. We chose lamb noisettes with roasted veg.There were two pieces of lamb which were nice enough , the roasted veg were new potatoes and a small slice of red, yellow and green pepper.An average meal costing nearly £34 for two small lunches and a pot of tea.Just enough for mum but I was still hungry.

Although Morgans is an hotel, I am reviewing it as a bar/restaurant as that is how I know it. My husband and I live close by and visit Morgans frequently for anything from breakfast, via a cappuccino and cake all the way through to the full party and disco on New Year's Eve. The food here showcases the excellent local ingredients to be found in Shropshire and this shows through especially with breakfast which is always superb but the lunch and dinner menus are imaginative and well-presented. Add attentive and personable staff and you have a winning formula.

Morgans seems to have different nightly promotions throughout the week that are really good value. We decided to take advantage of their grill night when a couple of steaks and a bottle of wine is either £25 or £35 for two depending on the cut, there are other options to accommodate vegetarians and a fish dish that are also included in the deal.Our party ordered two steaks a fish dish and a veggie aubergine stack. Service was good and the kitchen is open so you can clearly see the preparations. The steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered, fish dish was good apparently, I had the aubergine filo stack which was tasty, but the filo was a bit greasy, and although it was great to have a vegetarian option that wasn't risotto or penne it just lacked the style and quality of the other options so to be honest I felt a bit hard done by!! I guess most diners would select the steak and that is certainly a winner!

I have been to morgans several times for Sunday lunch, my most recent visit was yesterday.The staff on arrival were very attentive and accommodating as always. We ordered three roast beef dinners with one or those being gluten free. They explained it would take longer as they made gluten free Yorkshire puddings from scratch.The meal when it came was cooked to perfection. I do tend to have the beef dinner every time I go and it has been consistently very good and reasonably priced. I highly recommend :)

My wife and I visited here today and have to say was pleasantly surprised , my request to change food combinations were accepted with no trouble the food was freshly prepared to order , and the quality was exceptional along with presentation , I have tried many places this is definitely one of our favourites we will be back and I have to say the price was very good we had plenty for the money I fully recommend this fantastic restaurant and if you haven't yet been you should go there is nothing more I can say except keep up the great service and we will see you again very soon !!!

We called in here for Saturday lunch, having enjoyed good food and service in the past.The place has been revamped very nicely, although it has lost a little of its former character.Our order was taken promptly by polite staff. After this it proved very difficult to catch anyone's eye. This was rather surprising as there were only two other occupied tables, (one group were drinking tea, and one eating sandwiches, so not much pressure)The meal took forty minutes to arrive, which is too long when trying to take a quick break from shopping.The roast sea bass and the belly pork were both well cooked and tasty. I felt that for £11 each a few vegetables, other than potato, could have been included. I had not noticed this omission when ordering. When I mentioned to the young man at the bar that this could have been made a little more clear he just looked at me and did not reply.A portion of chips was listed on the menu as £2, but we were charged £3.We were not asked if we had enjoyed our meal when we paid.Although the food was quite good, it was a little overpriced, and too slow to arrive. I would possibly eat here again, but it would not be my first choice.

We had a lovely meal excellently prepared and exceedingly good value. Good sized portions but not excessive.

We didn't stay at the hotel, 8 of us went for a meal for our Office Christmas party. The service and food were exceptional and everyone had a fantastic night. Nothing was too much trouble and we really felt like our custom mattered even during a time of year when you would forgive somewhere this popular for being stretched. I would recommend anyone looking for a great meal in Shrewsbury to check out Morgans.

We booked a table at Morgans on Saturday night for our anniversary, even though it was busy with people drinking and having work Christmas do's, we were still treated very well.The drinks were very nice and always asked if we needed anything. The meals were amazing, one of the best steaks if had in a long time. All the staff were really nice and helpful and the Manager was also very nice and efficient. will be eating again here soon in the new year.5*

I booked a Sunday lunch from the Christmas menu for 11 people recently. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly from the booking arrangements to the service and quality of food on the day. Everybody in my party said how much they enjoyed the meal and the experience as a whole. I have been very impressed with Morgans on past visits and our recent meal only reinforces my view that Morgans is one of the best restaurants in Town. Accordingly, I will definitely be returning.

Had our works Christmas meal here, food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this friendly establishment.

Lovely sunday lunch at Morgan's. We had 16 for lunch. Lunch was served quickly and everyone enjoyed the afternoon and it was good value.

We usually go to Morgan's and am always very happy with the quality and value of the food. The staff are fantastic and can't do enough to accommodate our baby. Last time they moved us to a larger table just to make life a little easier. The menu is excellent although it's very hard to resist their burgers as they are always fantastic (especially with the Shropshire Blue Cheese).

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal the food is of a really high standard with a lots of choice including good vegetarian options. The service was excellent and we felt very looked after. We will certainly return on our next visit to Shrewsbury.

Called in on speck yesterday, whilst having a day out in Shrewsbury with a friend, and we were very pleased with our choice. The space is modern and comfortable and the menu interesting. I chose the roast pork with pear and apple cider sauce panini and my friend the steak sandwich, I also had a portion of chips. Everything was delicious and well presented and the chips were some of the best I've had in a long time! I would have no hesitation on visiting again next time I'm in Shrewsbury and highly recommend Morgans.

My partner and I visited shrewsbury for a day visit on 12th October. We parked up and decided on a spot of lunch first so we had a look at Morgan's. My partner is gluten free so we told the staff while reading the menu, the waitress mentioned that the kitchen are happy to cater for gluten free, even make their own stocks and gluten free Yorkshire pudding. This sealed the deal with us so we ordered some drinks and took a seat in the restaurant area. I had the slow roasted lamb and my partner had the beef with gluten free Yorkshire pudding. Both amazing and served with roasted carrots, asparagus, gluten free cauliflower cheese, broccoli, mashed and roasted potatoes. All really well cooked and presented. We decided on a pudding as its was part of a sunday deal, add a pudding for £3. I went for the chocolate fondant with toffee sauce and cookies and cream ice cream. Wow this was tasty, my partner asked for a gluten free crumble with cream. She was impressed and now knowing about how gluten free friendly they are we will most defiantly be back.

Really enjoyed the homemade roast pork with a pear and apple cider sauce wrap, I also opted for a side of sweet potato fries too! This was off the new Morgans menu just launched and in fact I have had this twice in the last week! Can highly recommend this town center venue.

Dinner at Morgans was brilliant. The restaurant was great, service was brilliant and the food was exceptional. I'm a big fan of puddings and loved the liquorice parfait with roasted lime syrup and a ginger crumb- presentation was akin to a michelin star restaurant and just tasted divine!

I visited over the weekend with my family and was recommended to try the fish by my father who had been on several occasions I have to say I wasn't disappointed freash tasty and a lovely sauce treated myself to a dessert which I normally dont had retro banana split tasty and freash cream not squirty cream made all the difference will be back definitely

Came here Sunday with the family, had a recommendation from a friend for the mixed roast dinner. We were greeted by a friendly waitress at the door and showed us a table by the open kitchen. Drinks order was taken and served promptly. All but one went for the mixed roast dinner which was amazing and probably the best gravy I've ever had. My sister is a veggie who had the mushroom strudel which she raved about. All in all great service and experience. We will book again soon.

Took the girlfriend and her parents for a meal at Morgans having had the place highly recommended by a work colleague, great atmosphere friendly service and the food was amazing, will be returning again very soon, big thumbs up from me :-)

Six of us visited Morgans on a Sunday evening and we all had Sunday Roast Meals. Very good value and pleasant service.

Good atmosphere and helpful staff, so a good place to have a drink or a meal. We had tasty salmon and mashed potatoes, with vegetables and Chicken with vegetables and lovely chips. There was a good choice of lagers and real ales from Shropshire.Well worth a visit for tasty food, and lovely atmosphere.

We visited morgans to try out their new breakfast menu and it's a must try, i went for the homemade granola, my partner went for the full English and the kids enjoyed the homemade waffles. We shall be regulars from now on.

We were after a buffet for a surprise party and decided on Morgan's as they have a really nice function room.We were told that the function menu can be created to our needs. so we picked various items and taylor made the buffet accommodate our guests.The chefs even got in touch and this was a great start and impressed us. Mark the chef came up with a few ideas for our budget and he didn't disappoint, the food, presentation was beautiful thank so much we will definitely use this venue again.

Visited Morgan's last week for some breakfast while shopping and opted for the full English while my partner went for the poached eggs, Parma ham and English muffin. It's the first time I've seen white pudding on a breakfast menu and it was good, the whole breakfast was amazing especially the fresh locally made sausage. Now for dinner, just wow. We went for the steak deal with a bottle of wine for £35 and its by far one of the best steaks I've eaten in a while, cooked to perfection and served with handcut chips which were also amazing. We decided on a pudding to share and thought we would try the liquorice lime parfait with a ginger crumb, my wife wasn't excited by it until she tasted it, WOW I would return here just for this alone it's a must try. My wife is now asking when we can book next.

We visited Shrewsbury for the flower show on Friday 8th (great day out plus weather was in our favor) we decided on having dinner just before the fireworks so we stayed close and picked Morgan's. they had a special flower show menu which was all reasonable priced. We both went for the lamb with Shrewsbury sauce and my god it didn't disappoint. We even had enough time time to enjoy the chocolate fondant. The quality of food served was truly amazing, the restaurant was full but the service was not affected in anyway. We will be back soon

Lovely bright table under the skylight near the kitchen, where you could see the chef working if you wanted to. Friendly and efficient service, the delicious burgers we had for lunch were beautifully presented with perfect chips and salad.

when we came to shrewsbury last time.this pub had shut down.only had drinks,but was great bar.if tad expensive..good service though,and will return..

Staff attentive and cheerful, menu interesting, food tasty. Our only gripe was the noise, the restaurant area is right next to the bar and since there's no wall or any screen, it was hard for us to hear one another, especially since we had the music speakers over our heads. Naturally the noise was being made by the guests however it would really help if there was some sort of divide between the two areas.

What a pleasant place, with a very clean and modern decor. Really friendly staff and great food and drinks. Good portions and very well cooked and presented.
