Morena Restaurant Bar & Cocktails in Shepway

We got takeaway and it was fine. The kids chicken burrito, nachos, stuffed pepper, and empanadas were good. The beef burrito and tacos were a bit average. Tender, but fairly frequent chunks of fat as well as being a tiny bit lacking in flavour. I wouldn't order again.

We attended the R&B bottomless brunch here for a Hen Doo and it was absolutely incredible! The music was great, the food was absolutely fantastic, so yummy and brilliant portion sizes and the cocktails were made from scratch and really good quality and kept coming. Highly recommend for a hen doo, birthday or just a girls get together!

Our 3rd delivery so far and all have been delicious.The steak is simply the best. Food arrives nice and hot and decent portions. Phone direct staff are great.

The most lovely and friendliest staff, all bright smiles and happy. The food was DIVINE. This is coming from a picky eater, I devoured it. The cocktails are also delicious!

I arranged a birthday dinner for a friend at Morena, it was excellent. Great communication by messenger, we had the sole use of the room downstairs, we requested drinks to be paid for as we went. Dietary requirements always well catered for. The food was amazing (as usual), definitely some new customers will return. We had a fabulous time thank you very much the Morena team

Booked our work meal here for 14 people and we were not disappointed. Food was fantastic and a charming atmosphere that invites you in. Food wait was minimal and it all came out at the same time so no one was left watching others eat. 100% would recommend and for me personally is the greatest Mexican food establishment that Folkestone has ever had.

Average Mexican. Beer nachos ok but ribs and wings not much flavour and lacked sauce. Burrito was quite dry and all in all ok food but nothing to write home about.

Dropped by with my wife only because it looked busy-had some really great food and cocktails that were the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely go back again-best place in Folkestone.

Ordered from here for the first time tonight as our usual Mexican had let us down the last time we ordered so we thought we’d get somewhere new Extremely impressed!! What a meal! We ventured in and have to say that the service was fantastic, especially with our autistic son. Some people are perfect in the service industry and it's a pity more in the UK don't understand that it's all part of the experience! Anyway, the food was so tasty and rich with flavours, that it was a delight to savour each mouthful. We had whitebait, tacos and empanadas for starters, followed by Chicken & Pulled Pork Burritos and a Salteados. All was absolutely delicious and we left nothing on the plates. The presentation of the food was also pretty damn good and that just sets you up for the experience of savouring the taste of everything. Most definitely a place to return to, especially with friends.

The food was fantastic my burrito was gorgeous and the meat was delicious along with the rice in it, I also got the BBQ chicken wings they were succulent and tender, fall off the bone my only criticism was they were a little weak on the flavour. The empanadas I had the chilli beef with cheese were sublime crunchy shell but cheesey beef on the inside and with the BBQ sauce and sour cream it's perfect bite each time. The guacamole is homemade and you can tell it's spot on, the sour cream and the BBQ sauce, the Pico is lovely but my only criticism here is portion size is small for the cost of it, if they were double the size they would be perfect and if you had refried beans it would be heaven. My dad said the rice was very tasty and better than normal rice, but the chips were overcooked my mum said, they both loved there enchiladas tho my mum was glad to see other veg than the normal peppers, onions and mushrooms in hers and my dad said the chilli beef was gorgeous. Spot on delivery time very quick and hot next is to come in and try it out.

Tried this last week & it was amazing. This week the meat was chewier and hard to get off the bone - if I'd had this the first time I wouldn't have ordered it again. Delivery was fine, earlier than expected and the driver called as he couldn't find me.

This is the undisputed best mexican restaurant in Folkestone. The quality of the food is uncontested as well as the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Upon multiple revisits to Morena the food has always been spectacular. This will be my go to restaurant on any occasion. You must try Morena. Quality!!!

This was honestly the BEST takeaway I’ve ever had. It was so well packaged and absolutely delicious, such high quality ingredients and flavour. Plus the delivery service was amazing!

Having ordered takeaway meals from here before, my partner and I dined in and we were both impressed with the quality and flavour of our meals. Ingredients and meals can be seen to be freshly prepared and cooked in the open kitchen that is seen when entering the establishment, which makes for a nice experience to 'meet' the chefs. Staff are polite, friendly, clean and tidy. If you're a fan of Mexican food I encourage you to try Morena's

Went with my misses to go and order food to take away, first time eating from here and will definitely be going back, our order was barbacoa beef burrito a pulled pork bbq burrito and chips, was given a pot of their home made chilli sauce, perfect heat. Large portions at a good price, thanks.

Have been to the restaurant on numerous occasions it has a great atmosphere friendly staff and such delicious top quality food at a reasonable price. When we order a takeaway it turns up piping hot and in super quick time. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Lovely experience at Morena! Spot on with a pleasant welcome. Visited on the special two for one steak night and it was lovely to watch it being prepped and cooked in the kitchen. Everything was fresh including the delicious mocktail. The wine was served at the perfect temperature. Very impressed and will be making a return visit soon.

Treated my mum and we both really enjoyed our meals. The rice was so tasty. Delivery was really quick and all the food was piping hot!

The food was hot and delivered early, however sadly was not the best tasting, the burrito was a great size but the rice inside was mushy like rice pudding and was bland which is a shame because the bits of chicken had a good flavour, the empanadas where bland and the meat smelt and tasted a bit sour - the nachos where the best part a long with the sauces - was pretty disappointed overall and hoping the rice wasn’t just reheated and the meat wasn’t bad. I’m surprised as they have good reviews.

Deliberately ordered something that didn’t have the chilli icon next to it as the kids don’t like hot food. Have never heard of anywhere that even puts chilli in pulled pork so was confident it was a safe choice for them. Upon arrival they got stuck into the chips, which were really nice but after taking a bite of his burger my youngest started yelling in pain and saying his mouth was on fire. Tried myself and I couldn’t eat it either. Waste of money, both meals went in the bin.

We just had dinner at Morena and we cannot recommend enough! The service was spot on, old school attentive family style but just right! The food was delicious and myself, my partner and two kids were so happy and satisfied! The highlight dish for me was the beef barbacoa which was unreal! We had it on nachos but it features in quite a few dishes on the menu. The churros with lots of sauce were the perfect way to finish it all off! My friend and I had lunch today and WOW!! absolutely delicious food and plenty of it. We sat outside which adds a really nice touch, and the owner is friendly, welcoming, and attentive, would 100% recommend and will be returning soon to sample their cocktails and wonderful looking evening menu.

What can I say ... Where do I start .. Arrived at 7 for birthday dinner , the staff were amazing and very attentive , Amanda was on the ball the whole evening . The food was out of this world I ordered empanadas for starters and I was not disappointed . Nachos were the best I've ever had . Main course was chicken salteados , It took me back to a visit to Cuba where I had it for the very first time it was amazing the flavours were spot on . My partner had the gringo steak , if you're a steak eater get yourself down to this place that's all I can say !! Finished off with mojitos, I want one of those every night now Firat Yildrim ( the owner) came to our table after we eaten to see how our meal was , now that is a special touch . Honestly can't put into words how awesome the food was you truly need to try for yourself Will definitely be going again it is now my new favorite place Date of visit: July 2023
