Moonlight Indian & Bangladeshi Take Away in Ipswich

Had a Chicken Korma and Chicken Dansuk this Saturday evening, in both dishes the chicken was inedible, although the sauce was good and hot the chicken was stone cold and crunchy, put both dishes in saucepans and simmered for ten minutes, chicken was awful after that, threw it away.

Just ordered from here and what a disappointment. The chicken kushboo was disgusting the chicken was chewey and bitty. The onion bhaji was soft and tastless. And the nann bread we couldn't even pull apart and it was gritty. And the chicken tikka was foul and chewwy. Not good worst we have ever had

Bad reviews? Really? The best Indian food by a country mile in ipswich. Superb food, a great choice and not just the usual dishes. I had a chilli citrus thing....beautiful. wont order from anywhere else as long as the food remains this good. Outstanding.

A dog wouldn't even eat this. I've never had anything like it. Everything about this is wrong. We thought we'd try a cheaper one, so our fault. If you're looking for a good Indian, Indian village is always spot on. I'm kicking myself for deciding to try something different. It's actually inedible.

Very bland and salty must be the worst Indian I have had.

Ordered from here loads in the past, so after having a very disappointing meal delivered in February I contacted them to ask if chef had changed etc? They apologised and offered a free replacement at a later date... well that was tonight; phoned up and explained the previous situation (having been advised it'd be 'noted' somewhere) and was told the food would arrive in 45 minutes. Am hour and a half later (Just as I was calling for an update) it arrives, and I'm presented with a bill of almost £30!! After explaining the situation again and offering to call the 'restaurant' whilst the delivery man waited, he realised the situation and said it was all fine and delivered the food. It was almost as horrible as the meal in February, no flavour, hardly warm and so watery. Will not bother with them again.

Worst food ever! I ordered lamb biriyani and lamb tikka starter. I was literally scared to eat the tikka, due to its over colour. Ufff. And the biriyani , he has roasted the rice, it was like fried rice over fried, too hard, couldn't eat either. Finally, he was so confused about the pricing, they have 3 pricing list... One on tablet PC, two printed copy... He was calculated prices from 3 list, then charged which price was higher, terrible.. I would ever go there again....

Very long delivery time. Pre ordered (mid week) using Just Eat, opened at 5:30pm...delivered 6:55pm (over 35 mins later than indicated on the app). Food was ok, reasonably quality and flavour. I will avoid in future as I just wouldn’t risk waiting around that long for what should be a much faster service!

Delivery, early, good Onion Bhajis, 3, nice size, seriously over cooked, inedible, mint sauce, very good - Disappointing Chicken Dhansak, impressed to start with, quickly realised chicken was pre-cooked, so tough and disappointing, sauce was good to start, then started to lose appeal - Disappointing Coconut Rice, ok Peshwari Naan, nice taste, over stuffed - Disappointing Overall - Poor

Had the lamb dhansak, tasty stuff, guy called up to check we were okay to collect. Great food and nice staff, I don't see the problem other reviewers had.

AVOID, The only delivery driver is scared of flats, you order for delivery and they expect you to collect it! Delivery driver also very rude on phone then accuses you of wanting to mug him so he then doesn't have to deliver. Waiting response from Restaurant manager, not a good outfit or way to run a delivery service. Rate 0/5 if could.. Not getting my custom again.

What a disappointing experience. Again. We haven't used Royal Eastern for a few years after some problems we had with the food quality at the time; but we thought we'd try them again. They have a nice menu and surely they must have improved by now?? We know Saturdays are busy, so we ordered at around 5:20. The site said 45-60 mins, so we expected on a Saturday it would take the full hour. I got an update to say order accepted, delivery 18:30. Not a problem. Then at 18:30 another one saying delivery would be at 18:40..... Nothing then at all, including the food, so at 18:45 I gave them a call to see what the status was. I thought at first I must have stumbled on the Zombie Apocalypse, so dilatory was the dude on the other end of the phone. They didn't know about my order. He went off and had a wander around to see if he could find it. He couldn't find my order so he assumed it was (probably) with the driver. But they didn't actually know. So I asked what was he intending to do. Maybe for 19:00 he said. No apology, not even interested. In fact I was told that they usually deliver in 90 minutes, so they were on time as far as they were concerned. Totally unapologetic. (Lucky me for letting them supply us, eh?). I told him that was totally unsatisfactory and cancelled the order. Actually I did wait until after 19:00, just in case it really was on the way and it actually turned up. It didn't. Pinocchio? Why do Takeaways play these stupid games? If you have a problem, be straight with the customer. 19:04 I took the family out for a meal. If I had wanted to do that, I could have done that hours ago, instead of being messed around. Not happy about it. So nothing arrived. Nil. Nada. And service failure came with free bad attitude thrown in. So F*** you Royal Eastern. You won't be hearing from us again. If that's the way you run your business you are a disgrace. I hope others reading this will take note and that you get the come uppance that your tawdry little takeaway deserves. 90 minutes, normal for two curries!? Bah!

Amazing curry! Arrived earlier than expected, was hot and good sized portions. Excellent value for money and was delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Arrived half an hour late, only just warm enough to eat and nothing special. Probably won't order again.

This takeaway is so fantastic you wont believe it! My favourite of all is the Dansak curry with its delicate vibe and cosy hotness.The taste of the succulent chicken tikka is the best. This curry is so vibrant, bursting with flavour. As well as it being really fast delivery; it will get to you in no time.

Don't ever give this company your phone number. They send constant marketing texts and will not remove your number despite many requests.

absolutely loved the kofte bhuna mossala last night. fantastic food as well as fantastic service It helps knowing that they have 5 star hygiene rating which made me order more food i will definitely be back keep it up royal eastern.
