Excellent welcome. Pleasant staff and excellent meal. Even though it was very busy the staff were attentive and very helpful.

My friends and I went here for breakfast the service, food and establishment is totally disgusting. We ordered 3 breakfasts that came out the food quality well I wouldn’t even feed this so called food to my dogs. The grumpy old sold can’t cook to save he’s life and is very very rude and can’t take criticism. For example how hard is it to cook bean’s seriously. They were cold on all 3 meals and argued and said they are not cold been in the microwave for 3 mins yeah ok lol. Food was sent back then he heated the beans which were how they should have been only then the rest of the food was then cold. When I mentioned this to the arrogant owner he said shut up their or u can leave in a controlling aggressive manner I carried on to say the rest of the food is stone cold now out out you are barred. Customer Service at its finest NOT. 3 meals should have been recooked no apology. Place is filthy and I will be getting in contact with the council about he’s food rating and how filthy the place is especially when I saw a croquette on my way out. KEEP WELL AWAY

Best coffee shop in town! Very friendly personnel, busy most of the time, but girls make sure that everything is done as quick as possible. Very chilled atmosphere. Amazing baristas already remember my fav order. You can get sandwiches and baked sweets with your coffee, always space to sit down. My compliments to the team! <3

We were so disappointed with our latest visit to Ivy’s. Having been many times previously we were astonished by the change in staff attitude and silly rules. We took our two granddaughters to this restaurant for breakfast, one aged 7 and the other 3 years to buy breakfast. We entered the establishment and were not greeted at all well with a surly staff member (Debbie) barely able to be civil. We ordered two adult breakfast, one child’s breakfast and paid £2.40 extra for one slice of bacon and a sausage for the youngest child. For that money we assumed it would come with a plate but apparently not. It is not “company policy” to provide a plate in such circumstances despite the cost of this small amount of food. We let it go with our a plan to use a saucer from our coffees. Unfortunately, after one coffee was produced the machine broke down (but we did have at least a saucer). Again we accepted this as these things happen. However, when the adult breakfasts came, the baked beans (or mostly the sauce) was slapped all over the plate covering all the food. Previously the beans had been served in a ramekin dish which was good. When queried with the waiter, we were told “it was company policy” not to put beans into a ramekin any longer. Because there was more sauce than beans, one of the meals was returned and the beans (or rather sauce) was removed. This was apparently the only option because despite asking for them in a ramekin dish it was refused. However the child breakfast came with the beans in a ramekin! We were told that the coffee machine would be mended soon so we waited. Eventually being told that all they could offer was tea or soft drink. What about going to the shop next door, buying a jar of coffee, boiling a kettle and making at least an instant coffee. That was not forthcoming however but again we put up with it and one of us had nothing. Having been very patient about all the above, we had had enough. I asked to speak to the manager and was met at the table by Jane, catering manager. Well what can I say except that she is a real piece of work. She was rude, obstructive and talked over me in a very humiliating and aggressive way in the middle of the restaurant. Despite trying to make her hear my comments, she was not prepared to listen not even letting me finish a sentence. I asked why the beans had been flooded on the plate and she said “that the kitchen staff kept throwing away the ramekin dishes into the food waste and refused to retrieve them not wanting to put their hands in the mess”. I suggested she train her staff better and she said “she had tried” and that it was company policy not to supply beans in ramekins any longer because the staff were not able to deal with this. She said it had been that way for two years which I did not agree with as we were frequent visitors and this was the first time we had this problem. I just gave up trying to get her to see a customer’s point of view and we left. This is such a shame because the food is good but the staff are appalling. With staff like this facing the restaurant it cannot be good. All it takes is to be pleasant to customers. Needless to say we will not be returning and will take our custom elsewhere.
