Having been in the village for something else, we decided to nip in for a quick bite on the Sunday afternoon. Wish we hadn't!!!There was nothing quick about it. We ordered coffees and paninis and were waiting well over 30 minutes for the food. A waitress came out and declared that there was a problem with the panini machine and it would be a couple of minutes longer. Had we not already paid, we would have left before then. They did bring us a complimentary plate of chips which although was nice of them, had we wanted chips we would've ordered them. They also offered us free dessert by way of apologising. The food when it arrived was very good but by then we were pretty disappointed by the service. I'm sure if there was actually a problem with the equipment, someone could've said much earlier and offered maybe toasted sandwiches instead.Just as a note: it wasn't overly busy at that time either and there were plenty of empty tables as the lunch rush was over. All in all we won't be visiting again.

We stopped for lunch on the way to and from Norfolk. That return visit signals a good first experience. Easy parking. Spacious internal seating area matched by a large outdoor seating area overlooking the clams (or were they Apacas - either way they are a cute accompaniment to your stop there).Good arrangements for the dreaded CV - lots of space and separation. We only had sandwiches (both times) depsite me hanging my nose over the tasy all day breakfasts that were being served up - never mind, there's always next time. The portions were tasty and sizeable and hit the spot. Some reviews mention poor service. I wouldn't go that far - but I would acknowledge that the popularity of Ivy's can result in a wait. That said, our wait for food after ordering wasn't outrageous either time and didn't spoil our satisfaction. Certainly not a reason to complain and it didn't stop us returning.Recommended.

This menu had something for everyone along with some fantastic looking cakes by the counter. We had drinks, cheese on toast and a piece of roulade that was enormous and very filling. Tables well spaced out and lots of Covid protocols being adhered to. Prices ok. Nice for a break with outside seating with farm animals to see nearby. Didn't venture into the farm shop on this occasion

Vegan sausage and mash good. Great that there was proper vegan options for main meal but not one single vegan option for dessert so I had to sit and watch everyone else eat. Plus grandaughter wanted a jam sandwich which was one slice of bread folded and charged £2 for it.

I came here OK Friday for breakfast and returned for lunch on Sunday with my partner. We have never had a bad meal. I had the cod and chips and my husband had the lasagne, both were lovely and piping hot. The local produce is fabulous. We took dessert away with us by ordering it as we went out which is a really good service, staff are brilliant too. They are spot on with the virus guidelines and you feel extremely safe at all times, you don't need to leave your table at any point.

First time here, five of us.We ordered drinks... One was spilt by the server over the table. We ordered food and were asked to pay in advance... The server came over with the bill but had only ordered four meals... Not five. The meals arrived... I had ordered a burger yet two plates arrived. We then had cake... They looked absolutely amazing... Sadly more style over substance as they were very heavy indeed, not at all light. The farm shop itself is ridiculously over-priced! This is a very clean, nicely decorated place but overall a bit of a disappointment.

We needed a pit stop and this place appeared. Good car park, extensive outdoor area with good spacing between tables. Welcoming staff who explained the routine about distancing, masks, ordering and where everything was. Staff wore masks. Well organised and with a very good regime in place. `it is a large place with a shop and the space was well organised. Excellent coffee and cakes and service. The food coming out looked excellent and the value for money was very good. Perhaps at times you will have to wait (there were the markings outside ot suggest that but we were lucky - no queue. But the main thing was to feel secure and safe and to have a good experience for food and drink.

Just returned from having breakfast, arrived at 9.15 very slow taking our menu and even slower getting it, we waited three quarters of a hour! What was more annoying was people arriving after us got theres before us. The cooked breakfast was good though, but sadly we'll vote with our feet and not return, and this hasn't been the first time either.

Having visited the Ivy previously I suggested going with my parents,I really wish I hadn’t!Because of COVID-19 we had to wait outside to be seated, despite there being plenty of room to be able to queue inside the door. It’s a good job it was a dry day. As soon as we stepped inside, even though we’d not uttered a word, one of the staff rudely shouted that someone would be with us soon! A waitress showed us to a table, gave us tatty paper menu and asked us to fill in contact details. There was no offer to get us a drink whilst we waited, something I thought was common place in most restaurants. We decided what we wanted to eat, waited, went to the toilet (all 3 of us!) waited a bit longer. Watched the waitresses go to other tables, waited a bit longer. I went outside to make a call, came back in and we still hadn’t been served. Having waited for 25 minutes,we gave up and walked out.

Very rude and abrupt host at entrance. Totally disorganised at till and despite there being 5-6 staff it took a long time to place an order. Food was extremely disappointing and poor quality. There was a very friendly and helpful blonde haired waitress who went above and beyond to be friendly and professional.A problem with lots of wasps outside which she said were a real problem. Only noticed one wasp trap on the wall but no other control put in place. So disappointed and it seems that it is simply one rude member of staff who clearly is giving this business a terrible name. In this time when businesses are trying to keep their head above water, she is not doing them any favours. We will not return and on speaking with friends in the area, they too have the same opinion. Such a shame.

Finally the waitress said sorry to keep you waiting !!! We was taken to the smallest table right in the middle of the room. I said could we not sit at this table ( pointing to one on the wall looking out of the window) waitress said a table is vacant down the end of the cafe ( no view) then she said I will have to look at my seating plan . This is not about food but general hygeine. We ordered 2 soft drinks and sat outside whilst waiting for the waitress. She brought 2 bottles with glasses upturned on top of each bottle. Fine no problem with that except the glasses were dirty and clearly had not been washed. My husband had to go back inside and ask for clean glasses. My point is during covid 19 hygeine practises, what else was going on behind the kitchen doors .

We had been travelling for over an hour and I needed the toilet. As there was no info on their Facebook page about the toilet facilities I assumed they were açessible to all.We went into the farm shop only to be told that we couldn' t use them unless we used the restaurant. Well I couldn't wait and went into the restaurant via the correct route and told the staff I was going to use them as I couldn't wait. I came out and went back into the farm shop to be accosted by a member of staff who told me I shouln't have used them. I then filled in my contact details on a form and was told how much I had put others at risk. Why was I putting others more at risk by using the facilities than purchasing items in the farm shop? Why can't you allow people to use the toilets as long as they complete their details and set up an alternative route to the toilets ?People can use supermarket toilets without a thought whilst shopping so why not Yours? Or why not provide an outside toilet block for your farm shop customers to use? If you are not going to do this at least make it clear on your Facebook page so people can find alternative facilities to use when travelling.

If I could give them 0 stars I would! Visited today, hoping to get something nice for my familys dinner. During my time in the shop, my 4 year old daughter asked me for the toilet. I quickly took her to the restaurant and waited in line observing social distancing. I was told by the staff (who supposedly checked with her manager) that my 4 YEAR OLD who by this point was desperate , was not allowed to use the facilities . I then had to rush outside where she ended up having an accident and wetting her clothes. The Govt Guidelines state that toilets can be made available. The manager was not even the slightest bit apologetic on the phone, she had a bad attitude and said that if I had told the shop that I was going to buy then they would of wrote me a note, which was not made clear as they had point blank refused. So basically you wanted me to buy something first before using your toilet . I’ll just tell my child to hold her wee in whilst I shop to please you shall I !?!? Absolutely disgusting. Having shopped here for years, we shall not be returning and will be letting our feelings be known. Thanks for degrading a child, utter disgrace.

We found Ivys Farm shop by chance on the A17 between Swineshead and Swineshead Bridge. The shop is good value and we purchased several items. The staff there were helpful and welcoming. We decided to try the cafe, which apparently does main meals and stays open quite late. I was surprised to see a sign behind the counter that said that people who displayed signs of having drunk too much alcohol would not be served. It made me wonder what kind of customers the farm shop cafe has! There was a large selection of cakes to choose from and some were three layers high. We don’t eat huge pieces of cake but were tempted by the coffee and walnut and so asked for one slice between two people together with tea for my wife and coffee for me.We were served by a blonde woman who, according to my receipt is called Teresa. She informed us that whilst we could have two forks, we could not have two plates because it’s “not allowed”. Frankly, we found this farcical and petty, reminiscent of Fawlty Towers.Drinks arrived after a while during which the two staff seemed to be milling about doing different things instead of dealing with customers discretely. The teabag was in the pot and as my wife prefers weak tea she asked for extra water. The waitress said that extra water was extra (money). We laughed as the farce unfolded and the waitress left. The cake arrived eventually without a knife so it was clear that we were expected to share the cake by cutting pieces from it with our forks from the single plate. I’m not aware of local customs but we don’t normally eat like this. The assumption was that we would be happy to swap bacteria. Don’t they know there’s a Corona virus alert? Still, I was with my wife not a colleague or friend so when in Rome...! I cut off a piece of the cake and put it onto my paper napkin. The cake was delicious but the buttercream was far too sweet. The bill was tea £1:50, Stokes Americano Coffee £1:75 and cake £3:10 totalling just £6:35, which was very reasonable. I suggest however, that by increasing the cost of drinks slightly and arriving at work with a positive, customer oriented attitude the staff could give customers a far superior experience than we had. Ivys Farm Shop is worth a visit. The building is attractive and prices are very reasonable. Shop staff are good and the cafe business has potential but this type of business depends both on its ability to attract passing custom and equally importantly, its reputation. Our expectations were quite reasonable and we have never been charged for extra water or refused a second plate when the serving is large. This cafe experience for us was poor and could have been avoided The blame lies with the culture in the cafe, personified in our case, by Teresa.

We had visited here before (not long after it first opened back in 2017) for coffee, and had enjoyed the experience. The food was very good then, and still is now. He flatly refused to accept it saying it was company policy not to accept any scottish bank notes. He failed to offer any alternative ways to pay and left me embarrassed holding up a queue of people waiting to pay. My girlfriend and I visited here on a Saturday morning in August along with her mother. On arrival we went into the farm shop which did look very sparsely stocked and a poor use of space. The stock on sale is all of a good quality however there just is not much of a range. The space could be much better utilised and increase sales.

Average food, well good quality sausages let down by poor cooking skill and such rude staff! Went early one Sunday morning, walked in and was ignored by lady folding paper napkins. Cleaner was still mopping the floor with a filthy looking mop. Sat at a table, tried to move the napkins and cutlery on the table but it was stuck to it!

This place has such potential, but it is wasted. It looks impressive from the outside, but this is where it ends. We have given it several chances over the past couple of years, but it seems to be going even further downhill.

Stopped for lunch and was disappointed. Actual shop is half empty and could be so much better. Cafe is like a school canteen. No menus on the table was first y annoying, food was badly presented and very basic. A lovely building that has so much potential but not fulfilling it.

Called in here on way home from Norfolk Broads. Place smelt very fresh, very clean toilets, Massive cake selection and large portions. I had the cooked breakfast that was cooked fresh, so hence had to wait 15 minutes, but it does state on the wall that the food is cooked fresh so there may be a 20-30 minute wait. The girl serving me in the Restaurant was very pleasant. Cooked breakfast had proper Lincolnshire sausages, not processed and everything was piping hot. Called into the farm shop and bought fresh fruit and veg and local meat pie so we had something in for tea when we got home without having to face the battle of Tescos on a Saturday. Bought some massive meringues and Strawberries for tea. Don’t be put off by some of the reviews, I had not read the reviews before calling and did not experience any of the bad reviews. There are even lamas and goats etc. for children to see by the outside eating area.

I have been for lunch twice in the last two days and although the food was nice, the staff were unpleasant. There was one very welcoming and friendly young girl (I think her name was Sophie) who welcomed us on arrival and asked how our food was as we left but, unfortunately the other lady who served couldn’t have acted more like she didn’t want to be there and we were inconveniencing her. I had two different women on both days take the order, both as miserable as the other. They made me feel like I should be apologising for bothering them and then leave. I think this place has potential, but it is a shame many of the staff are a big turn off for visiting. A smile doesn’t hurt.

Second visit and had two very good meals - ham, egg and chips and minced beef onion pie with chips, carrots, peas and cabbage with a lovely gravy. The carrots and cabbage were cooked perfectly not nearly raw as some places serve. Then two delicious homemade desserts. It was busy and the staff were absolutely excellent, young man and lady clearing the tables. They never stopped - please thank them from us. Everyone very friendly. Will certainly visit again 10/10

Whatever time you go for a meal or coffee and cake, make sure you are hungry!!! Meals are freshly cooked, using local produce and are very good sized portions. Situated just off the A17 on the outskirts of Swineshead it is an ideal stop for tourists and for locals as well. In the Farm Shop you can stick up on all sorts of goodies, from vegs. to meat in the butchery. Well worth a visit.

There's a heck of a lot to like about this place...loads of car parking, for a start. A lovely spacious farm shop with fresh produce, including a butchery and a gin corner. Outside is a huge decking area (if the sun ever shines!), filled with good quality wooden furniture....and to top all that...alpacas!

My wife and I visited Ivy farm shop restaurant this afternoon and ordered food I had the classic burger my wife the ham salad. I say salad it was half a tomato 4 slices of cucumber a bit of lettuce 2 slices of ham and a tiny amount of coleslaw. This was £6.25 please see photo below. In my opinion over priced but that may just be me. Judge for yourself.

My wife and I called for an evening meal, which turned out to be a very poor experience due to the quality of the chicken in cream sauce she ordered which was ver watery and the chicken not cooked through properly! Surely basic mistakes when cooking chicken! Our sever Sofie was very apologetic and said she would tell the chef and asked my wife if she wanted something else? So she had the Fish and chips which was better but nothing exceptional! As the batter was very soggy, oh dear not going very well! andisappointing to say the least. So all in all not a great dining experience. I had the breakfast which when my wife ordered at the till asked if I could have a poached egg instead of two fried eggs on the menu, and was told the don’t do poached eggs!!!!! What sort of chef have you got? Not a vey good one if our experience is anything to go by??? This is the only restraunt we go to where you have to pay before you eat! Very clever as it gives the company the upper hand re complaints ie money refunds etc. So all in all think we will be giving the Ivy’s a miss for the foreseeable future! Which is a shame as we only live up the road in Bicker. Shame.

Another excellent meal at the Ivys......after a tiring day and not wanting our usual Friday night fish and chips we headed for the Ivy's. We have been there on several occasions despite it being a good half hours drive away. We knew we would have a nice meal, reasonably priced and excellently cooked.

I’ve visited the restaurant a couple of times this month. Once for cake with my daughter and once for breakfast with family. Overall I like the place, it’s big with lots of seating and we loved the outdoor area being able to see the alpaca’s. The only problem was that the staff are very grumpy and any little request seems too much trouble. It feels as though when they turn away to get your drink etc that they’ll be rolling their eyes. An older lady bought our food to the table and she made us feel quite unwelcome. It’s a shame because they offer quite a good range of food if only they could realise how important good customer service is.

Wanted somewhere for brunch and The Ivy's was well signposted, with plenty of notice, just off the A17. Very pleased with what we found. Brunch cooked just how we liked it, including my vegetarian sausages (don't always get that choice so that was an added bonus). The restaurant was clean and inviting. And there were alpacas just outside, including a 3 day old youngster! Definitely worth visiting again if travelling that way.

Just eaten here this evening en route to a weekend away. We needed somewhere for a fairly quick evening meal with our toddler. Food was great quality, cooked fresh to order and reasonably priced. We ordered fish and chips and one of the specials and a meal from the children’s menu (£4.95 for 2 courses).

We arrived just as the alpacas had been brought out so we could get up close with cuddles. We had three delicious desserts and four drinks - all for less than £16.00. The farm shop is well priced too with local produce. We'll definately be going back. We had a great afternoon out - thanks The Ivys

Visited recently with family for an evening meal which at the best could be described as average to poor. We all ordered something different. Two of the meals were ok although a little cold. The other two contained something which was supposed to be mashed potato however it appeared to be frozen or powdered, not what you expect in a farm shop. Would we attend again. No.

Very nice, freshly cooked food. Not a large menu, but has a reasonable selection. I had the light bite cod and chips, which was much more than I expected. My husband had Ham and chips, which he said was delicious, we even asked a member of staff if we could buy any in the farm shop and you can. They cook it on site. They have a huge selection of puddings, problem was which one to choose!

We just wanted something to takeaway on our way home from our holiday in Norfolk as we had dogs with us. We were passing and saw the signs so popped in. I am so glad we did, we could very easily have bought a pre-packed sandwich from a garage. Their sandwiches were freshly prepared by a very pleasant lady. There was loads of filling and the bread was really fresh. I had to get coffees from the restaurant, which was very busy. The lady on the till even helped me carry them out to the car as I had my hands full with coffee. We will definitely stop here again.

We went here for breakfast for the first time, but it was also our last time, we will definitely never be returning! Staff look very miserable, no smile, no warm welcomes here. When I told the server it was our first time, she confidently said that we'll be back, how wrong she was. We had the small breakfasts, one sausage, which was not good quality whatsoever, it was tiny. The bacon wasn't cooked enough, the fried potatoes were raw in the middle, the toast was burnt so badly that I had to scrape the blackness off. The eggs were overcooked. The portion of mushrooms was next to non existent, with the half a tomato being tasteless . The condiment bottles are all brand names like Heinz, yet they are filled with cheap economy sauces, the old reused bottles are a disgrace, greasy and they have been refilled so many times that the labels are faded, not very professional whatsoever. Only one meagre butter portion was provided for the burnt toast, which was not enough. A very poor quality breakfast that was not worth the price tag. Wouldn't go back here if you paid me. A big disappointment. A cup of tea is expensive at £1.50, and their filter coffee tasted rather strange?

We went on Good Friday for breakfast, 6 breakfasts plus coffee, we spent around £60 and one of our party asked for another butter only to be told it would cost 7p. This wasn’t a problem but really what a cheek to charge 7p when we had spent that amount of money.

This is a really well designed farm shop & restaurant. Very efficiently run. Friendly staff & good home cooking. We stopped twice in two days breaking long drives. The second time we arrived at the same time as a coach party. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They had it running like clockwork to accommodate everyone & not keep anyone waiting. And if you have a sweet tooth the cakes are divine.
