As a regular visitor, this was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Has to wait 45 minutes for the meals, when the pub was not exactly busy. Arrived with burnt buns, lettuce the size of a 20 pence piece. Reported it to the manager and just received a shrug of the shoulder and not a genuine apology. Will not be visiting again. People on the next table also has to return there meals.

Come here 2 time now and there is new stuff in very friendly and well be back

Waiting along time for your food

Getting worse....last time I reviewed this place was in 2021 and was a negative review...the manager wanted to discuss it in a email which I did but this time its alot worse. Waited 50 minutes for food..our 6 year old did get his 1 small over priced garlic bread for starter but that was it for the rest of the time. I asked twice but we were told 5 mins then after that the staff has been training this morning ..but bare in mind it's about 2pm by this time..when the food came it was ok..asked the waitress who was very young and appeared unexperienced if she could make sure child's pudding will be ready so we didn't have to wait another hour...within in 3 minutes the pudding arrived whilst halfway through main course. And then she tried to take plates away whislt we were still eating. My wife was quizzed why we had so much cutlery..well the manager dumped them on our table. Overall..staff rude...and they get fed before us..lots of staff but lots of peoplecomplain.such a shame

Have to say the staff was excellent, especially Tamara from start to finish. With her very good customer service skills. The food could have been better, I had the mixed grill. Although the cowboy burger was ok. Otherwise a nice visit.

We visited The Chain Bridge for my partners birthday on Good Friday. Service was fast and efficient and and staff were friendly. My only gripe is that (despite not being particularly busy) food took quite some time to come out, and the quality was good, but not great.

Went in for a meal yesterday food was really nice was served by a lovely waitress called eve she was very friendly and polite checked to see if the meal was alright and provided a really good service will definitely be going back

Last Wednesday we decided to go out to celebrate a special occasion and what a shambles the evening was. We ordered fish and chips only to be told none available chose burgers instead again none available, decided on steak and a pie and after waiting just short of 2 hours with no updates or apologies we complained only to be told it was going to be a further 10-15 minute wait because I ordered a well done steak. What a joke, that rather than apologize you put the blame on the customers order. And it doesn't take 2 hours to cook a well done steak anyway! During our time waiting 3 tables around us left after getting fed up waiting. I can understand waiting longer on bank holidays etc but this was a Wednesday evening. By the time we left after waiting for a refund it was too late to get a table anywhere else so the whole evening was ruined. We are really disappointed and wouldn't usually write negative reviews but don't want anyone else to experience this on their special occasion. Avoid, this place!

Quality food and drinks available to everyone that comes. All staff are friendly. Great place to visit with friends and family.

This is a lovely pub. The staff were friendly and helpful. I went there on Easter Monday. It was very busy but, our waitress Tammy, went out of her way to give us a wheelchair accessible table. The pub, in general, is ideal for wheelchairs and has plenty of parking. The food was lovely and even though they were very busy, the wait wasn’t too long. A nice pub that I would recommend.

Called in on way home from a day out, atmosphere was absolutely bang on, grandson loved the play area whilst we waited for on food, had a medium steak cooked to perfection and I'm mega fussy about them, will definitely go in again when back out that way 👌

Unfortunately this place has really gone downhill since the new owner. Staff seem miserable and it shows in the service and general atmosphere. When told a wait time, we expect that to be the max wait time- however with our previous few visits, add at least 15-30 minutes to this, even when not absolutely full. Steaks - apparently medium rare means cremated, have had this a number of times to the point where we now avoid ordering them generally. Tonight we chanced it, and after 1hr 10 minutes - it arrived well half of it and it was cremated. Complained to the deputy manager who seemed more interested in making excuses about portion sizes than just accepting and apologising. Unfortunately it seems that the chef made the same mistake with 3 other tables, so something is bad if a medium rare steak consistently comes out cremated. When asked if any changes have been made in the kitchen, we were told there was a new chef - when we said that we think this is where the issue was - the deputy manager continued to argue, changing the month this different chef was introduced twice. Bottom line is, last summer this place was great - since January this year it has become awful. We are regulars, but will now be looking elsewhere as there seems to be a distinct lack of customer service, atmosphere and decent food.

Waited 90 mins for the food to arrive. Feel sorry for the waitresses taking the flack for the kitchens incompetence.

Food okay... when it eventually arrived - 55 mins. from ordering! Told after 40 mins. 'just plating up' - mix grill and fish&chips. Staff apologetic of unacceptable delay but kitchen needs to improve before a return visit!

On the first night of 4 we ate here, we had a poor experience due to short notice staff sickness over the bank holiday. All the staff were extremely apologetic and ensured our two subsequent visits were excellent. The service and food were, on the whole, impeccable throughout. Would highly recommend.

I came here to get my electric car charged, to eat and drink and use the loo on my journey. All successfully achieved! The first Osprey rapid charger seems to have an admin fault and didn't work but the second one I tried worked very well.

If it wasn’t for Louise and Rachel and their great customer service we would have walked out. Waiting almost an hour for our food for it to come out cold, dry and even a burnt baguette. Really disappointed. I have always enjoyed coming here for food but recently it seems to have really gone down hill.

Wow the food quality really has gone down hill. The chef needs to assess the quality of the food they're serving before it is even delivered to the customer. If the dish looks burnt plus cold, would you eat that yourself? Only good thing was the lovely service from Louise (I think her name was called) and Rachel for taking care of our complaint with no hassle. The wait time was ridiculous and its not even homemade food. Maybe relook at the offers on the menu, it was ideal to have 2 for 1. Really expensive for the quality you get.

Staff very pleasant and had lovely smiles. Food is very well cooked and there is a good range of meals, from simple burgers to steaks cooked to perfection. The ambience of the place is really relaxing and cosy with good but subtle lighting. Over all I would highly recommend The Chain Bridge at Boston.

Got seated nice & quickly by a friendly lovely lady. Placed our order at the bar - at this point the bar was full of customers & only 1 person serving. Was then told that the order we placed we couldn’t have as they’d ran out (it’s a Saturday night! How embarrassing for the waiting staff!) Ordered starters to come out the mains but unfortunately this was too complicated to understand. 1 out of the 2 came out wrong so was sent back! Eventually the mains came out slowly. These weren’t great - mushrooms charcoaled, some chips not cooked properly - generally a very poor meal out. The waiting staff were very apologetic and couldn’t do enough for everyone even though they were getting very unhappy customers complaining to them from every direction. So waiting staff thank you!!

Incredibly disappointed with our visit this afternoon / evening. 3 hours for a main and dessert for 4 people! We have been many times before and have always been told to take a seat wherever, but not today! The manager/ owner, who has served us many times, demanded we "book in", sending us to a table with the last diners food, drinks and mess still on it. Could have accepted this if the other tables around us were full the entire time / reserved, but this was not the case. We attempted to clear up as best we could and waited 5 minutes before having to ask for this to be cleared and cleaned. Not a great start. We waited a long time for the food to arrive and was not overly impressed with the quality. Again, we waited for dessert even though you could see staff wandering around not doing anything. Staff were disinterested, not overly friendly and to some it seemed we were an inconvenience. We will not be returning any time soon. It is an expensive treat, even with the 30% off mains deal, and cannot warrant wasting this here after todays experience.

Booked a table for 6pm. Only a few people in there. After waiting on hour, I went to see where our food was. Told it would be another 10 mins. So now 7.10pm food arrived. I ordered a starter and fries to come as a main meal....only got the starter, I asked were my fries was and she said I will go see....never came back...I called one staff member over and asked where my fries were and I wanted to speak to Rachael the manager... I explained what happened and the new staff member that took my order had forgot to add fries onto my order...When my fries came, she said you have them now and had the check to say I won't charge you for them... I said I was very unhappy and i would leave a bad review, but she wasn't bothered at all, not sorry or nothing. ...when we left we see her sitting with a man drinking.....very poor management from Rachael and no customer service..... As for the new staff member, obviously needs more help with training, but again poor management, not giving her staff the help they need.... Rant over.... I will not go back in a hurry...should have gone to Spirit of Endeavor instead.... .

When ordering food I was told at least 45 mins before my food might arrive. After over an hour, I questioned where it was and then sometime later it arrived. The food was good, but to wait an hour in madness. It must be not enough staff or poorly organised.

Waited over an hour food hand battered fish and chips. . Fish wasn't hand battered, it was factory battered. Garden peas were cold. Mushy peas tasted burnt. No cutlery on table. Table was sticky. Dirty tables pots and glasses left for over an hour after customers had left. 1 manger we thing she was 1 waitress 1 bar maid. No value for money. 2 pints of Pepsi both flat.

Awful awful awful. If I could give zero stars I would. Worse meal I've had in a long long time! What should have been a special treat for mother's day turned into a surprisingly bad experience. Loads of parking and seating, which should have been the first clue as to this place's popularity, unfortunately were not from the area and the menu looked enticing. (I think in retrospect a menu with that many options screams of pre made dishes that are churned out, no way anything with that range of ingredients could be made fresh!) Starters were acceptable but how badly wrong can you get soup and prawn cocktail? We were then left for 45 minutes to wonder where our main meal was. It turned up after we politely asked and yet - every single main meal was dry, flavourless and cold in places. The gravy was congealed gloop so it made me wonder if the plates were sat on the pass for 30 minutes and then got reheated or the chefs were simply incompetent? Definitely seemed like the dishes had been microwaved at some point in its life. Because things took so long, we didn't want replacement meals as Mum needed to get home before it was dark, so they refunded the desserts back on my card. That wasn't really good enough tbh, would not recommend at all! Definitely won't be back even with all expenses paid!

Absolutely spot on bar staff, Rachel, Sue, Amy and Louise! Always get such a warm welcome when coming in here with these members of staff on. They're an asset to the team at chain bridge! However slightly disappointed there were no straws on this visit...

Food was amazing and perfectly priced!! However, the amount of kids running around is crazy. If you are a family with kids then this is perfect for you, but if you are coming for a couples meal or a more adult dining experience might be worth considering elsewhere.

After visiting around 3 months ago I swore to never go back. However I tried again. We became to be aware that it had recently come under new management and WOW you could tell. The steak was cooked to perfection service was exceptional. So glad i gave it a second chance.

Disappointed doesn’t cut it. We attended for a Sunday Roast on 3rd March and the food was terrible. The roast potatoes were that hard they couldn’t even be stabbed with a knife and fork to cut them. On my beef instead of traditional horseradish sauce...

Popped in for lunch we had the Thai curry with extra chicken and the hunters chicken the food was lovely, you get loads of chicken for the extra chicken in the curry. The restaurant was nice and clean and inviting and the staff were pleasant and welcoming

Didn’t fancy cooking tonight so we decided to give Chain Bridge a try. The pub was lovely and welcoming and all staff members were friendly and polite. We managed to get seated straight away and ordered burgers. Food was hot and the burger was just stunning, never seen a burger so high. Definitely recommend!!
