Monty's in Worthing

Lovely cafe opposite the train station ran by a great bunch of people. Can’t beat the food and atmosphere for a tasty breakfast or lunch!

Stopped here on my way to Brighton, whilst waiting for the train. The service was very good within a nice setting and atmosphere. I served a bacon, brie and cranberry baguette and it looked so delicious. I also bought a bottle of still water. I was hungry since I missed breakfast and was really looking forward to this delicious food. Had only 3 bites from the baguette and stopped to run to the toilets on the train station as my cramps wouldn't stop. Obviously the food had given me a bad stomach... Never experienced that before. Although the overall rating on this place is good, I have to say I won't have food in here gain after this messy experience.

Looked for a good place for breakfast and Monty's came up on local Facebook, so decided to give it a try. It's small place, order and pay at the counter then hope there's a seat! Thankfully although busy we got a table! Ordered the American and the Scottish breakfasts with drinks. It wasn't long to wait and we got our orders and we both enjoyed our choices. The Scottish had square sausage which we were told was home made, not bought. Top marks all round and the guy on the counter was welcoming and helpful (told me about the square sausage when I asked where they bought it). Over, great breakfast and based on the menu, will need further visits to check out their other options.

Not often that people cook your eggs exactly as you want them and you get homemade bubble and squeak! Great little gem right by the station and staff are a joy.

Without doubt the best cafe in Worthing. The team there go above and beyond to ensure your orders taken quickly and if a train is due they always get it on time. Exceptional value and if you want a full English, this is the only place to go. Visit here if you’re hungry and want delicious food at the best price around. The staff do an amazing job and work so hard. My go to place and you have to try it

Monty’s is great - the food is real and cooked on the spot. We arrived there with our enormous packs and filled up with a delicious brunch #loveit

Best breakfast and dreamy coffee around. We always treat ourselves here before we travel on the train. A real treat and best part of the journey. Always look forward to it.

What a find this was! We arrived early for our train and popped in here for a bit of breakfast on the spur of the moment. I had a quick look at the menu and opted for the full Monty without really looking at what was included. It was an absolute feast, luckily Gill helped me out as I would never of got through it on my own. The service was very friendly and the place was spotless. We will definitely be heading back next time we are in Worthing, highly recommended.

What a lovely little place. Went in hoping to get a quick sandwich before catching a train and I was not disappointed. The sandwich was delicious and the people were lovely. Not my last visit!

Can't fault it! Good quality, honest food, well cooked, generous portions in a clean and friendly place. Loved the Bubble & Squeak-based brekkie - freshly home made, reminded me of when I was a kid. Good, tasty filter coffee (or tea) included with every breakfast, so you can't go wrong...and at these prices it's a must!

Best cafe I've been to in years. 4.7 stars is definitely worth a look at. And what a breakfast it was. Everything cooked to perfection. Staff are wonderful friendly guys. That really know how to run this place and do it well. Ordered and food on the plate within 5mins. Coffee was really nice. 5 star rating for me. Let's get this up to a 4.8 as it's well worth it. And another thing under a tenner. Can't go wrong at all

Cannot rate this little old cafe highly enough! This cafe has consistently high levels of service and food quality with never a bad day here. Prices are more than reasonable, and they are in a prime location, being directly opposite the main Worthing Railway station. This is a must visit cafe but beware... seating space is taken very quickly!!!

Lovely place for a quick coffee or for an amazing well cooked breakfast, near the station, with outdoor space, and very well decorated interior space. Recommended!

Had breakfast here today, what a great find!! Superb food at a great price. Good service. Will defiantly be back. Gave 5 stars on first review, Have updated as second visit has put me off. Food outstanding, although let down by cheap and nasty brown sauce. service was lacking, totally blanked when I said Thank you and goodbye. Felt like you had to be a regular to receive friendly service and newbies were not welcome. Suggest avoiding this place if service is important to you

Very nice filling veggie breakfast and decent filter coffee for a good price (half that of town center). The young lad chef very chatty & friendly so was the man behind the counter. They do lunchtime food aswell. Well recommended. Jon

Absolutely great brunch. I had bubble & squeak with eggs and mushrooms. Freshly cooked and delicious, at a reasonable price. The coffee was really good too. I look forward to coming to work in Worthing just to have breakfast/lunch here.

This is such a Worthing delight, many notches above 'greasy spoon', it's a proper workers' cafe (not caff) with a brilliant array of all-day breakfasts - try the bubble-and-squeak special - but also mains like cottage pie, and loads of made-to-order sarnies and baguettes. Time your visit to Worthing Station to get fed in Monty's.

Love the food and staff here, great for people watching when the Sun is out and you can sit outside.

I've been popping in Monty's for a few months now and grabbing a takeaway bacon sandwich and a coffee before boarding my train to work. I popped in last Monday (9/1/23) at 11.30am and treated myself to a Full Monty breakfast and it was delicious and so filling that I didn't need to eat anything else for the entire day. I will definitely be going back for another one soon. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the café is always clean. Clearly the best café in Worthing.

All you would want in a cafe. Clean with interesting decor, well priced quality food and always friendly owner / staff. Conviently situated just outside Worthing Station. Please note they don't have a customer toilet (happy to correct if they do). Can get busy and as it's small you may have to sit with a stranger ! That's good though.

Everything a local cafe should be, swift service, quality food, and faily priced. Used this cafe for many many years it is 100% the best cafe in Worthing, always has been.

Best economical breakfast deals in Worthing, IMHO. Opposite Worthing station, opens early till 14.00hrs only, Ideal for a grab a sarnie/roll if your tight on a train time. Recommended.

Good range of dishes on offer for a cafe. Staff are polite and efficient. Nice decor and layout. However, the chairs were worn out with the cushion sinking. It was chilly from the constant open closing of the door. These were my only gripes. Otherwise, well worth a visit.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had this cafe is just outside Worthing train station and it is excellent the food is delicious freshly cooked and it's got a old traditional feel to it (I like that) not keen on all these modern places the breakfast was piping hot made with super ingredients and it was fairly priced as well food is delicious service is very good and they really know how to cook I'm glad this cafe is here and I think it will stay as in Worthing a lot of places are the kinda modern high prices low portion and rubbish quality this is the complete opposite Big portions freshly cooked great service good ingredients and fair price I would be eating in here all the time if I was a local

Great food, great prices, great service. Went for breakfast and had a bacon & egg sandwich. Really tasty and a decent size. Went back for lunch and had the 1/2 pounder burger. Good price for the size of the burger. Can't really fault the place!

Most places are increasing prices due to the cost of living but not here. There are a variety of breakfasts/lunches and sandwiches for a reasonable price. This includes a tea or coffee. The food is ok. The sausages are not so cheap you wonder what animal was killed, The bacon was tasty and didn't apear fatty. Everything else just seamed like you would expect. It is small so you may not get a seat but it does do sandwiches to go. Simple food at cheap prices that are cooked well.

This place has to be experienced to be believed. First class traditional English meals at ridiculously low prices with extremely friendly service. It is opposite Worthing station and cannot be missed. Businesses such as this are a dying breed and should be supported.

Looked popular and seen a fair few good reviews, so gave it a bash. Thumbs up to the cheese on toast. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. Looked and tasted fantastic. Will be returning

Always go here when I visit Worthing.. I love the full English, although very difficult to finish. I must try their Jacket spuds and Shepherd pie

We were staying at a nearby hotel for 4 x nights and as the breakfast chef at the hotel did not turn up, the hotel sent us down to Montys (50 yards away) for our breakfast. We all ( 2 adults and 2 grandchildren) were astounded by the quality of the food and at very reasonable prices. Lovely people who run it. within 5 minutes of ordering it was in front of us. The breakfasts were enough not to feel hungry at lunchtime. Go there and try it- you will not be dissappointed

Your home away from home. Brilliant food, fantastic value and the service is second to none. Even if you fancy something not on the menu they will oblige if they can. The granary baps are huge with loads of filling and the coffee piping hot. I believe they also do delicious cakes? Maybe next time :)

Ate here last month for the first time, had the Full Monty breakfast, eggs, bacon, bubble and the works, what a delight. Will be going back.

No card machine, cash only, no toilet which they tell you to use the railway station to use there facilities which you can't do unless you have a railway ticket. Good food, too service. Prices ok.

Traditionally station cafes became run down and more often than not, chain coffee shops. Not here however. A great little cafe service fresh food at good prices, immediately opposite the station entrance.

The tittle of the review might seem like a bold statement but I have eaten many breakfasts at various locations in the UK and Montys is consistently the best that I have had. On top of that the staff are excellent and the cafe has a great friendly local feel to it. All the produce is cooked fresh to order and there is a wide range of breakfasts to suit all tastes and hunger requirements. Brilliant cafe and I believe exceptional value

Where can you get a full English Breakfast at 6.30 am? Well it's Monty's. Located right by Worthing Station it is a real old fashioned venue for an early breakfast! It's excellent!
