Poorly presented Indian food - what is it with greasy metal bowls with curry. I am not a pet. Saving grace is location but dal, an Indian staple and easy to cook was devoid of any spicing. Try another restaurant, not sure where some of the reviews coming from. Don't be hoodwinked.

I did a takeaway on Sunday, lamb Briani, which normally comes with the curries sauce. But VERY disappointed the rice, not cooked enough, the curry sauce can taste of raw spices, which means, not been cooked enough. Are they new chefs? If so, they really...

First visit in 15 years, and we enjoyed a delightful meal with excellent service. It was a busy Thursday evening, the place was full and we were welcomed like royalty.Chicken tikka twice, chana massala, couple of beers, mango lassi, £20 a head including service. With complimentary brandies & salad thrown in. We'll be returning

This is indeed a very good Nepalese Restaurant and the good reviews that this establishment has received are justified.Visited this restaurant with friends and was not at all disappointed. Commencing with poppadums and the customary condiments - we shared two portions of onion bhajis which were quite average. Chicken Shashlik and Lamb Hasina were ordered and were served on hot sizzling plates - both dishes were very aromatic and incredibly delicious to eat. Could not fault at all these two main dishes served with onions, tomatoes etc... A real joy to eat. Equally the side dishes of vegetable curry and tarka dal (lentils) were excellent. These were accompanied by a special salad, pilao rice and naan bread. The service was courteous, attentive and prompt. I have no reservation about recommending this restaurant based on this first visit and will eat there again. The restaurant was virtually full on a Monday evening – now that tells you something!!

Decided to try the Sunday Buffet, encouraged as the place was busy. Most of the dishes were empty, and nobody seemed interested in refilling them until I pointed it out. When the Chicken Tikka Masala finally did come it really did taste like Campbell's tomato soup poured over the chicken. There wasn't a hint of India.Service was non existent, all of the staff were disinterested.I don't expect a lot from a Sunday Buffet, but I expect a lot more than I got here.

Upon entering the restaurant on a Friday evening with no booking we were met with a cold request from the manager to take a seat, whilst they dins us table. We were then led upstairs by a waiter who showed us to the busy lively dining area. From ordering our food we had to wait over one hour 15 for it to arrive and it was only when one of our party said to the waiter this was unacceptable and that if it did not arrive we would have to leave and find food elsewhere. Then miraculously minutes later our food arrived. The food was tasty however after waiting for one and a half hours I could have eaten anything. The price was expensive.I will not be rushing back to Montys.

I've had a really nice meal every time I've been. Waiting time sometimes a little on the long side when it's busy, but worth it for the food. For anyone wondering what's good (everything) I particularly recommend a spicy butter chicken on the bone. Perfect.

I've been eating here since 2003 and can only give this establishment 5 stars. Food always excellent and service never fails. I'm not affiliated to the restaurant, just a genuinely satisfied customer.

The food is really good. But the restaurant is small, so you don´t have too much space. It´s cozy but not very comfortable.

I used to live in Ealing and went to many restaurants but never this one- I note it opened in 1970.But on my recent visit to London I went to Monty's on consecutive nights, it was so good. All those wasted years! The Momos are just gorgeous, here you can get chicken or vegetable ones as well as the more usual lamb ones.I has King Prawns with Chilli Massala which was well spiced and really tasty. The jeera rice and chilli naan bread were wonderful too, and the special kebab was beautifully cooked.Good wine list, pleasant staff, lovely atmosphere....I shall have to make up for lost time on my next visit!

Monty's is the legendary Ealing Indian restaurant with a high quality Nepalese menu and a few delightful, original specialities of the house. There are some real personalities among the staff, including the venerable 'Monty' himself. This is a restaurant where you will love the food, develop a rapport with the people and will go back again and again.

Service was initially a bit cold and rude, but warmed up after we ordered.Food was quickly served, my Keema Bhuna was delicious, with well cooked sundries. You got the impression time and effort had gone into preparing the meal. We couldn’t eat it all, but the packed it up for us.Definitely returning soon.

I see many positive reviews, but my experience was poor. Starter of Prawn Puri was adequate. But the main course was a Monty;s special kebab. Served with pillau rice, which was good, and a bowl of daal - also fine. However the meat, in what purports to be a house speciality, was seriously undercooked. That is not good with chicken. I complained, and a replacement was done without hesitation - which is good - byt was so burnt that any flavour was drowned by the charred effect. Air conditioning non existent also, so my clothes stank the following day. One final point ... this is supposed to be a Nepalese restaurant. So, the obligatory momo apart, where are the Nepalese specialities. Errr ....

Inutili altre parole. rapporto qualità/prezzo molto buono

the nan bread in the world. We have been going to Monty's for 28 years. the take always are just as good as eating in. Very friendly staff and we go here now as a family. Even the boys enjoy the food. We by the Nan breads stuffed with nuts and vegetable and take extra home and freeze them for when we have curry at home. A must

A different twist on curry, the nepalese taste is sweeter and different which was nice. If you want a really spicy curry try the clay oven down the road. That said , the service struggled to cope on a busy weeknight and we were glad to get the bill and go. Drinks well priced, try the Nepalese lager- another tick off the bucket list without going to Everest! If you go, go early as most restaurants on Ealing High St seem busy after 8 and others are better staffed.

Well-established as it may be, Monty's (the one in Ealing Broadway) doesn't offer a particularly comfortable or relaxed dining experience - I've been there three times and on each occasion (perhaps unluckily) our table for six was cramped, in a draught, and had a lot of traffic going past it. Tables for two or four may be less badly placed. The food is ordinary High Street Indian Restaurant, with nothing special to distinguish it from dozens of others. The decor is undistinguished, and slightly shabby, apart from some impressive wooden carvings on the wall. In the whole: inexpensive, but nothing to write home about.

As it was New Year's Eve we were very lucky to call in at just the right time and even drop on a window seat. The service, the food, the atmosphere were all excellent. We purposely chose food that we had never eaten before rather than going for the regular Indian sounding dishes. The spicy duck cooked with lots of ginger was amazing and the chicken skewer was beautifully cooked in a tandoor making it so juicy and tasty. The couple on the table next to us appeared to have over ordered and were offered take away trays to put their food into to take home. I thought this was a really nice touch that you aren't offered everywhere.Monty's is great value for money and the food is amazing. Definitely recommend a visit.

We visited Monty's on New Year's Eve - we were very fortunate to get a table as the restaurant was busy, always a good sign. We decided to be sensible and not do the usual trick of eating way too much, so ordered 2 of the Nepalese mains plus veg side dish and roti. We shared a spicy duck dish, cooked with ginger and also the speciality "kebab" - think skewered, marinated meat rather than a doner! Both were very beautifully cooked and spiced and very tasty indeed. I also enjoyed a bottle of Nepalese beer (quite possibly the biggest bottle I have ever seen.Service great, even though the restaurant was full. Overall an excellent meal and experience.

I called and booked a table. Because of traffic I was a bit late but my table was there, ready. The restaurant was busy, and I understand that is usual. From my experience I understand why. It is only a couple of minutes' walk from Ealing Broadway station, and so easy to get friends together. There is a great menu choice of mainly Nepelese dishes, with some Indian. The service friendly and unflustered. I can enjoy a meal when I do not get constant requests to find out if I am enjoying my meal. The quiet attention by the staff was a blessing. The food was fine and hot, in the temperature sense, and catered well for my vegetarian friend. Everything had an authentic Nepalese flavour. From the popadoms and mo mo's at the start to the pistachio kulfi and coffee at the end, a great evening out
