Monty's Nepalese Cuisine in Hounslow

In all the years of occasionally working in Ealing, I have never eaten at Monty’s, till I was taken their the other evening. What lovely food. Great taste and very well prepared. The waiting staff were very attentive and the meal came quickly. The restaurants atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy. The taste was excellent. A very enjoyable evening out in Ealing.

We sampled the curry, marsala and tikka. Nan bread is to die for. Best part was service as the whole family was there to wait on you hand and foot. The best service I have ever seen. I would travel the 5000 miles again to visit this restaurant.

Today, 17th August. Despite having written in the reservation booking that I am allergic to chilli and telling the waiter many times whilst ordering the Monty Vegetable with spinach and agreeing to a lentil curry, suggested by our waiter (who appeared to be the senior waiter on duty) to share with my husband, as long as there was NO chilli, my first mouthful of food told me that there WAS chilli in the food! The senior waiter at furst denied it, despite returning to check eith the chef twice. He eventually agreed that there was chilli in the sauce. He said that he didn't know that I couldn't eat chilli and then he said that he thought that I had meant nothing 'spicy'. I referred to my reservation. I had also told the younger waiter who brought the lentil dish, that the lentil curry should be with NO chilli as he delivered it. He said it was 'mild', I repeated that it must have NO chilli. I had trusted them both! Eventually, after a lot of denial on the part of the senior waiter, I was brought a completely tasteless bowl of red beans and pilau rice! He hadn't taken away my original order and we meant to ask for a doggy bag so that at least my husband could eat the food at home the next day. Due to the constant attempt by the senior waiter to distance himself from completely ignoring my stressing the need for NO CHILLI, we didn't ask for the considerable amount of left over food to take home. We paid £51 for a disasterous and potentially dangerous meal. I wasn't charged for the beans and came away very upset and my clothes smelling strongly of fried meat. So Monty's, what do you say about ignoring a customer's allergy and ignoring the many times you are told that a customer just CANNOT EAT CHILLI! Never again Monty's. This is potentially very serious. I await your response, without excuses.

I can’t resist adding to the many positive reviews here. It’s 20+ years since I last went here, it’s apparently recently moved premesis, and it’s still as good. The menu has many of the standard Indian restaurant dishes, but also some Nepalese specials. My Chicken Gurkhali was excellent - delicious flavour and a good level of heat. The food is 5 star, but I’m only giving service and environment 3 star. The food came quickly once we’d ordered, but they were very slow to take the orders for drinks and then food, and later to bring the bill. I think they were understaffed. It was fine for us (lots of chatting to do) but let them know if you need to be out by a specific time. It’s also very noisey. However the service was very willing and they did an off menu dish for my friends to take home for their daughter. Hope I don’t have to wait 20 years to go again.

What a great find on a walk around looking for dinner. The waitstaff were very good. Food was fantastic. Very delicious and not expensive at all. Highly recommend

We went to this family owned napalese restaurant. Got grilled chicken marinated in mint. Very tasty and ther sakuy chicken was exellent. Recommend the place fo foodiees.

We used to live in Maida Vale, then South Kensington and then Holland Park in the 80s and always thought it was worth driving to Monty's for the quality of the food. We now live almost 100 miles away and still try and work Monty's in to a visit to London. We went last night and it was just a s stunning as ever. It's all good but the tandoori food in particular is just mouth-watering. Don't think of going elsewhere. It is the very best tandoori at a fair price in a very honest and genuine atmosphere.

Staff very friendly and excellent service. The food was incredibly good. Will definitely go again when next visiting. Highly recommend this restaurant. Look out for the magic hot flannels too!

Used to use Monty's loads when I lived in Ealing in the 90s. They were always the best then and didn't disappoint for my dine in visit whilst on a business trip last week

I've been dining at Monty's in South Ealing for more than 10 years and it has never ceased to amaze me. The food is of high quality and I have never been to another Nepalese restaurant which tops Monty's .. I could safely say that they are even the best at curry dishes of West London as most of their dishes (especially the Nepalese Murgh Masala) are divine. The wait staff extremely friendly, respectful and can really cater to personalise the experience for each customer. I feel that from this they have gathered many to the local residents of the area to be regulars, which is the essence of what kept things going even during the pandemic. I'm surprised that they have always kept things so humble! Had been supporting them a bit during the pandemic by mainly takeaways. On my first order they managed to hand deliver to me even though I'm a mile off their radius. This goes to show they are one of those restaurants who continuously reassess the status quo and adapt to changes lightning speed and what better for them to demonstrate that than during these hard times ..Its amazing how they still maintain their quality with their takeout food.. those flavours.. makes me feel like I'm eating there at the restaurant!

I went here yesterday and the owner prakash was really nice to us and the food was good 👍 😋 the portion is huge and the taste is like go in Nepal for dinner thanks montys

Takeaway on Saturday night. Waited over 2 hours for 3 dishes which all had the same base sauce and were completely bland. It’s the worst chicken jalfrezi I’ve ever had. Kitchen clearly can’t cope. I’ve been using Monty’s for almost 10 years - never again.

We normally love Montys, never a bad word to say about a takeaway. However tonight’s was just not the usual, must have changed chefs? Sauce was lumpy, some half filled Tupperware, called up and manager said he’ll give for free next time we order but don’t think we’ll bother. Shame as this was our go to for curry. What’s happened??

Ordered Chicken Dhansak got meat!! which consisted of 6/7 pieces of meat and about a pint of a very lame lentil sauce, no flavour. The Rogan we also got was also just a flavourless sauce. Keema Nan ok, onion bhajis were burnt. I have lived in Ealing for 60 years and been to every Curry house around, will not bother again. Also no door closure so it was constantly being left open and we had a freezing cold wind blowing throughout

The tarka daal looked liked dog food and had exploded all over the bag, the tandoori butter chicken was replaced with cold sag, the shashlik paneer was like something out of a horror film. Nasty nasty meal. Looks Inedible. Honestly I wouldn't feed that to my next door neighbour,the one I cant stand. After complaining they did send out the butter chicken which turned out to be a bright red garish mass of indeterminate ingredients. As you can see from the photos. Hopefully the fox will enjoy it. Never order from this place

Ordered a takeaway today as we had received a discount offer. We waited over 1.5 hours (we live 10 mins away from the restaurant) and we did not get the discount. More sauce than meat. Not worth the money.

Delicious house speciality chicken kebab with roti and beers after a couple of poppadoms. Not cheap, but excellent service. Only let down by the slightly tired surroundings.

Wow! The best Indian/Nepalese Cuisine I’ve had in a long time! After a long socialising day in London this restaurant was 10 minutes from our hotel and was the end of the line on our day out and a couple of minutes walk from the Tube Station. We turned up around 10pm and hadn’t booked and the staff were very accommodating for us. We had the the mixed starters, which was like a bounty in itself of beautifully spiced cooked chicken, lamb etc. Mains were amazing, my friend who favours the vegetarian mains were absolutely beautiful.. I never go for vegetarian options but the Black daal and Paneer curry that he’d ordered were a lot to rave about, I had to try them and was not disappointed. Bursting with taste and flavour. I had the Chicken Dhansak which was cooked to perfection and the naan breads were baked perfectly too. I live 2 hours from this restaurant and would take the road trip just to come here again and reasonably priced too. Wonderful.

The Best Nepalese Food around, a blend of great food and service, people travel from afar because of the quality of food including us, can't recommend enough.

This is the second time that I’ve come to Monty’s and it has been amazing. The food is delicious. My dish was creamy and hit all the taste buds. The staff were very accommodating and tended to all your needs. I would highly recommend Monty’s over any curry house if you’re in the area!

The worst curry in London by far. Tasteless greasy dishes. Generic tomato sauce used in all dishes. Soggy popadums.

This restaurant was nice, the staff were very professional and the food was very yummy. Deva- one of the staff members was a welcoming waiter and remembered our order. He made the stay easy and so did all off the staff. The shop itself was small but very clean! The food was very yummy and within good pricing. Will definitely come for the 3rd time.

I have been going to this restaurant since I was five years old, and not once in all the years since have I had anything less than a fantastic meal. The flavours are superb, and there are so many delicious choices on the menu that I invariably end up ordering far more than I can possibly eat in one sitting. The staff are just wonderful people, and I look forward to visiting whenever I'm in the area. I couldn't recommend more!

I’ve been coming here for 30 years and it’s my favourite restaurant! I make a conscious effort to always come back whenever I am in the area - we even take a tandoori mixed grill home in the car for my son (all the way to Devon!) always welcomed with a smile and cannot recommend highly enough

A party of six of us had an evening meal here just before Christmas. We all agreed the food was excellent; my lamb chops were superb. The food warrants a 5, but the fabric of the building and the decor is somewhat ‘tired’, hence the 4.

I have placed a quite big order as I love Asian food I wanted to try few dishes I have never tried . It was a gamble for me . I am very picky when it comes to Asian food and this place has surprised me beyond my imagination! The food was absolutely delicious the service five stars and the delivery super fast . Not many places provide this kind of customer satisfaction when it comes to food I know this place has the best quality and the freshest dishes because the amount of time the owner spends time shopping for products at my workplace . Went to Monty's with friends after seeing the good reviews and I have to say the food was delicious, starters of onion bhajee, samosa, crab on claw, prawn puree were excellent. The main courses were equally delicious, the paneer dishes were cooked to perfection and also the owner asked to chef to cook a vegetarian jalfrezi as it wasn't on the menu and this was no problem at all. This is a lovely restaurant and the owner Deva and his staff make you feel very welcome and don't rush you when it comes to taking orders and makes some good suggestions for vegetarian eaters. I look forward to visiting again.

I went with a group of 10 friends for New Years celebration - I ordered the crab claws starter, sag paneer and coconut nan bread and OH BOY it was delicious!! The service was so quick and wonderful, they made us feel so welcome. The whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxing, I really recommend. Had a perfect table for 12 on Nye, Deva was incredibly welcoming and the meal was served perfectly on time and piping hot! Too spicy for the Americans amongst us but I consider that a sign of good food

I’ve been coming here for more than 25 years and consider the owners family. Always a warm welcome and the food is to die for. The naan bread is the best I’ve tasted and the flavours of the main dishes are amazing. I bring friends and relatives and they are also very impressed. Very good vegetarian options. Love it!!

Every one of the 7 dishes ordered were superb in quality, taste and portion size. Service was friendly and prompt. This was a first visit for our 2 guests and they were suitably impressed and requested we re-visit next time they are in London.

It was a great experience all round, food was great as specially the momos, great selection. Perfectly spiced. The customer service was on point, very friendly and welcoming, making sure the food and drinks flowed. Defo would come back again and also recomend others too.

I have been coming hear for a couple of months now and I have tried several dishes. The food is the best Indian food that I have had in years! The chicken tikka, butter chicken, shaslick supreme and chicken biriyani are really outstanding.

A very traditional place for a curry (despite the Nepalese tag), this was a lovely place to visit after a day at the football. Hot and tasty food and great service. (One niggle guys - toilets need a refurb. They are clean, but tired.)

Our first time at Montys and what immediately struck us, was just how friendly the staff were. Just very genuine.

Monty's has been around since 1980's and has all the charms of that period, food is consistent and robust with full flavoured curries and other dishes. I ordered King Prawn bhuna and it actually contained 'King Prawns' not lesser large Shrimps which some restaurants pass off as King Prawns. Prices are reasonable and portions good with friendly staff. Monty's survive because they add new dishes inline with the trendy new Indian restaurants but still maintain there quality Nepalanese and Gurkha influences. Highly recommended.

When in Ealing I love going to South Ealing to visit my favorite nepalese restaurant! I’m so used to eating there amazing butter chicken but this time decided to try there new regional menu and we were not disappointed! Fresh dumplings Gurkha chow win and lollipop chicken is a must try!

Good price and amazing food 5 star The place offers a nice range of fresh food. I enjoy eating here. The employees are always friendly, rates are reasonable and the spot is always well organised.

Was brought up round here so my reviews can verify this gaff since circa 1985. Had always been a delight and even the lovely chap who hosts the place of a weekend is still there.

Three of us ate at Monty's South Ealing last week. All three vegetarians. Great selection of veggie food. Totally delicious every dish with a yummy Tarka Dhal - substantial and not watery. Fresh Sag Bhaji - not over cooked and delicious. The sizzling Paneer dish was fabulous. Lovely staff. Excellent value for good quality food.

Came back after a few months with friends it was mind blowing, all i have to say is I highly recommend it, it’s a small but cosy restaurant. The food is what counts and I promise you will not be disappointed !!!

7pm we were the only other table in the restaurant so we were quite wary of eating here. come 7.45 ended up being packed and we can see why!

A group of us had a very enjoyable meal here, everything was done well - the grilled chicken & lamb chops, lamb jalfrezi, sag paneer, tandoori chicken, etc all good. Cobra beer went down well.

So here it is! I've been to Nepal several times and I was amazed to find an authentic restaurant serving authentic Nepalese dishes with great Nepalese hospitality.

Buena comida. He estado ordenando la entrega a domicilio de este restaurante durante años y he probado casi todos los platos del menú. Recomiendo encarecidamente el plato del Himalaya (Koshi Macha - Tilapia Fish) (Rogan Josh) (Egg Curry) (Prawn Biriyani) (Mushroom Rice) ¡pero todos son igual de sabrosos! La comida tiene un sabor auténtico, las salsas son espesas, las especias no son abrumadoras y la comida es fresca. De hecho, puedes oler la comida (cocinar) mientras pasas por South Ealing Road y en el interior siempre está repleto, ¡reserva tus mesas! La calidad de la comida se ha mantenido excelente a lo largo de los años y el servicio es excelente. Siempre proporcionan una porción de ensalada, papas fritas y platos de chutney de mango a un lado y la entrega siempre se realiza dentro del plazo. Deva (el gerente) es brillante y se sale de su camino con un toque personal para garantizar que sus clientes siempre estén satisfechos. (No pediría comida india / nepalí en otro lugar).
