Montpellier Bar & Grill in Cheltenham

The meat grill platter is nothing like the picture you see it is basically 6 chicken wings and the rest is veg and a bit of rice.. Totally not what you expect at all!! Such a shame cause it's a nice place, but I cannot think of a worse misadvertisement ever!!!! It should be advertised as a veg platter !! When I complained the waiter said the wrong picture was on Groupon but that picture had been on there for a least a couple of months if not more. Did give us some ribs and a handful of chips but did not make up for the disappointment..

Lovely place, great atmosphere and very good food. Offers something for all ages.

Wanted somewhere for a special meal out. Found Montpellier Bar & Grill. Everything just right. Excellent food and service. Good value too.

Wonderful place. Lovely meal & service. Our various dietary requirements were cratered to without problems. The cocktails are fabulous as well. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Went there on a quiet Tuesday evening. The lamb cutlets were delicious, the steaks were good. Good quality food. The service was a bit amateurish but rather that than bad food. Will be going back.

This place was empty when I went in which was we surprising seeing as the literature festival was on and everywhere else was busy. I ordered the marinated lamb cutlets main course, asked for them to be hot and cooked medium. When they came out I thought I had been given a starter..two tiny cutlets which weren’t even marinated, the sauce came on the side in a bowl..Wouldn’t go back, not great value for money.

Nice looking place. Let down by the Groupon deal - serving platter for 2 with a bottle of prosecco. We were served 2 chicken wings, 2 nugget things, 2 mushrooms, some bread and olives. On Groupon this was advertised as 50% off (£20 cost and thus at full price would be £40) - definitely not worth that cost. When the food eventually arrived it was cold and underwhelming. The owner was a tad rude when stating our frustration - blaming Groupon and the cost of the prosecco and not understanding that we were willing to buy more if we had known how small it was. Our major disappointment was the mis selling - 50% off means you expect the same amount of goods for 50% of the price. Redeeming factors: I can see potential with this place, very good decor and one of the managers was really nice

I went to the Montpellier Bar and Grill last Saturday. I had booked a table which was good as it was busy. We were warmly greeted by staff and offered to sit at the bar first for a drink, which was lovely. Then we were taken upstairs given a nice table with a view of the room which is beautifully decorated. When ordering food we had some questions regarding the food which the waitress was more than capable of handling and gave some advice on what sides went well etc. Then the bill came and I actually had to check that it was right, considering the quality and quantity of the food it was extremely reasonably priced! Fantastic meal, lovely atmosphere, great prices :)

Simply awful! Even the children did not like their meals. Chicken wings were fatty and tasted of nothing. Chicken drumsticks were boiled with no flavour whatsoever. Steaks were dry and served on their own....you would have thought that given the price of £11 you would have some fries or even some garnish but no......!! We are local and were without a kitchen and were very hungry however, we will not be returning as quality and value for money was extremely poor.

Favourite place in Cheltenham to grab a quick lunch!

Love the decor. Friendly service. Great draft beers. Good food at good price. Homemade chilli sauces. The burger was good. Flame grilled chicken wrap with a lovely coriander mayo on the side good. Fries good. Second time there and will go back again!

Really poor, I was expecting a really good experience and was so excited! Couldn't have been more let down. The food was poor, the wings although Medium was asked for, basically was just plain no flavour! I had the lamb cutlets and honestly was the worst food! It was tough and fatty! If I was starving from not eating all day would've 100% sent it back. My partner's ribs were better but tasted like they came from a supermarket pack! Would 100% not recommended!

Not expensive and the side dishes were fine (slaw, chips etc) but the half chicken was a little dull. Service was good.
