Excellent. But don’t go there as it’s already too busy and I’d rather not wait longer.

The cutest cafe with really good latte

Let’s limit my review to their coffee and eclair. The eclair was great; filled fully with cream and generous dark chocolate on top so no complaints. The coffee was a different story. I understand if the staff wants to stay with their menu - but also in London it’s not uncommon for the barista to have something off-menu as well. I love my coffee topped with condensed milk - also known as spanish latte despite nothing spanish out of it. The staff can say anything like ‘sorry we only what are available in the menu’ or ‘what’s that?’ And I won’t press it further. However, they said ‘Sorry this is french caffe nothing spanish here’ and I was like ?????? Fine, maybe their coffee tastes great so I just order something in the menu (an almond milk flat white) and the coffee tasted like the free shitty coffee in my office pantry. Shame that the frenchness this establishment chose is the rude behaviour yet throwing the coffee quality out of the window. When I saw their coffee machine exterior, it looked dirty so they might want to channel their energy to clean it out and check if anything happens inside too… I ended up leaving my coffee half full - not feeling worthy of my calories allowance. Also, I try to say this as nice as possible without any means of condescension: the staffs stank. We’re still on a summer weather so please please please keep up with hygiene folks!

Llegué muy tarde a mi hotel y quería una buena copa de vino antes de dormir. Afortunadamente este café está abierto muy tarde y disfruté de un vino fuera. El vino tinto estaba delicioso. Servicio fantástico. Volví a la mañana siguiente para un pastel y un café que también era bueno.

I love the owner and have been coming here for 25 years. The leek quiche is a must, so are the croissants. Thank God the city gave them so much outdoor space on the pavement

The food was okay but I love the decor of the cafe.

Ignored for 15 minutes after waiting at the till to order twice, after being told there was table service only to be ignored further. Staff dropping food and polishing cutlery instead of serving. Shame as it’s probably a nice place.

Used to enjoy coming to this place however this time it was a disappointment. The service was shoddy and they kept walking off while midway through ordering, I had to send my lunch back as it was the tiniest amount of ham ever so I didn't know what I was paying for. They have then overcharged us (only noticed later as my friend paid) and applied a service that never used to be applied automatically. Used to be good but now disappointing for the money.

Habíamos caminado más de una hora para tener algo de comida aquí, llegamos a personal de aspecto infeliz, sin sonrisas, sin saludo u oferta de una mesa. después de conseguir una mesa, múltiples artículos en el menú no estaban disponibles y cuando mi amiga preguntó si había panninis, ella obtuvo una respuesta contundente de «no». la bebida equivocada también se recibió después de que la camarera había revisado dos veces lo que se pedía. la comida estaba bien, el edificio era bonito, pero el servicio realmente decepcionó el lugar, creo que el personal realmente necesita algo de capacitación de servicio al cliente, como se indica en otras críticas, y siendo una camarera yo mismo, no es manera de tratar a los clientes de pago. el camarero no dio un «gracias» o «por favor» a cualquiera de nuestra fiesta cuando estábamos pagando, además de esto tuvimos que pagar un cargo por servicio por servicio que era horrible!

Absolutely one of my favourite cafés. Pastries are divine! Great for intimate conversations or a spot to read up on current affairs.

food was okay - minus the multiple items on the menu that weren’t available - the atmosphere was amazing, however the service was shocking. the servers didn’t explain the food that was available well and didn’t give us the right drink that we asked for. most likely will not be going back again.

It's great in summer, when there is outside sitting. Food is top notch, and service is good. Highly recommend.

Maravilloso y hospitalario propietario francés no podría haber sido más agradable - yo había estado caminando durante una hora y se sentó durante un tiempo para disfrutar de la experiencia. I bought my coffee and a ham & cheese sandwich for take away then I requested the lady behind the till,May I use the toilet please and then she said sorry its for customer only and I was shocked and told her I bought my breakfast and you telling me that I am not a customer, then she allowed me to use it but her behavior made me feel bad. Poor customer service.

Really charming, warm and vibrant cafe! Came here for a hot chocolate and to work on my laptop in the corner, quick and friendly service. There is no wi-fi here gets quite crowded!

I paid 12 pounds for an omelette and this is what I've got, Ive also ordered black coffee which taste like mix of coffee and tea, it's just pathetic it costs so much plus service seems like they don't really want to be there...

I’ve had breakfast as this cafe several times during my stay and I loved it! The food and coffee are delicious. I also enjoy the atmosphere. The servers are nice enough.

Owner of this place does not understand basic business rules that client is always right. Came there to get double espresso to take away. She told that I cannot use her toilet as it is only for eating in customers. That is is unaceptable on any grounds ! Not sure what hygiene ratings would say about it.

Lovely place - espresso macchiato was very good as was the hot chocolate. Decent croissants.

Disappointing food, ordered nutella pancakes that were almost burnt. My friend got a tuna "sandwich". A thinly layered stale baguette with 2 cucumber slices :(

Very bad service. Staff not attentive at all, slow. Food takes ages to come. No one came to the table to take the order, had to go myself to the till. And even then they didn't serve me straight away because they were too busy discussing customers.

Liked this place, was very authentic with a wide offer from good desserts to omelettes, crepes and gallets. Staff is friendly and enjoy each other company too which is nice to see in people working together. We were allowed with the laptops. Tables were not that big to work with a laptop but still good thing there no restriction policy and we could fine sockets. Toilets are clean and well fitted. Many thanks, will be coming more

Horrific experience, rude staff

Went for brunch to MP with my client. We both ordered a croissant with Emmentaler cheese. Although the restaurant was not that busy, I followed up on our order twice. When our order finally arrived, I was surprised to see that my croissant was filled with something that reminded me of mashed potato on toast. Alas ! Where did the slice of cheese vanish to? Curious to understand this, I endeavored to query this mystery. I was informed by one of the staff members that the Emmentaler is not served in slice form but that it is ordered in packets of grated cheese.. The grated cheese is then mixed with cream cheese and " Voila"...there it is - Emmentaler-cheese & cream cheese mash on a pastry...No.. Eventhough the food hasn't in previous experience appealed to my taste bud's, the amosphere & decor is warm and inviting, the ambience cosy and staff is helpful and friendly and was willing to compensate their one disgruntled customer. Based on that the positives, I would happily return for a nice cuppa.

Great ambience but their prices for eclairs are a rip off and it’s too sweet. Wanted something just to have with coffee: bought an eclair it was not great. So small for the price. The choux pastry was flat & not really authentic. The worse eclair I have had. The fruit tarts looked nice but I didn’t taste them. Hope the base is crispy. The best authentic french pastry is in the French shop end of Bute Street, South Kensington. Authentic and priced fairly. The pastry is crispy & it’s french !

Ordered two Shakshuka for £14 each and both of them came 45 minutes later without Chicken or Bacon although we complained to the manager they still charged us full price, so not really happy with the full experience as if we knew two main items are missing we would not order Shakshuka .

Went here one morning and they were so very nice to us. The Montparnasse Cafe is like a cozy Parisian escape tucked away in the heart of the city. From its charming decor to the aroma of freshly baked croissants, stepping inside feels like a mini vacation. The pastries are delightful, especially the croissants - buttery and flaky, just like you'd find on a quaint street in Paris. The ambiance is relaxed, perfect for catching up with friends or getting lost in a good book. I highly recommend this spot.

I'll be brief. The coffee is tasteless, the quiche is over-salted, the staff is surly, the prices do not correspond to the quality of services. One of the worst places in London.

This is a right place for coffee lovers. The only thing missing was dietary sugar.

Wonderful friendly local Kensington Eatery and Cafe, away from the noise and chaos of Kensington High St. Everything is homemade amazing tasty quiche mouth watering fruit tarts, great tea and coffee selection. Staff always polite helpful and courteous. Highly recommend,👑👑👑👑👑

Feels just like Paris! In that the staff are french and hate you for coming in an hour and a half before close. Rushed me out and started sweeping under my table at 5pm (they close at 6). Just wanted a quick coffee and I’d have been on my way out before 5 anyway. Sad!

The food is traditional French fare: quiche, croque-monsieur, crêpes, croissants, pains au chocolat, small pastries, all very good. There is a nice vegetarian selection too. In spring and summer there is outdoor seating on the street.

As others have mentioned, the service makes the experience terrible. When we were served our coffee, the staff spilled it and, after looking at our soaked plate, decided it was ok not to apologise/clean it/ offer a replacement. This adds to the general feeling of rudeness specially showcased by the manager. I agree with what other have expressed here: food is ok, but its not worth paying to feel uncomfortable and unattended.

A really cute independent coffee shop just tucked away off Kensington High street. Super cozy, comfy seating, great coffee.

Had a lot of expectations, but in reality the place is not that good. Too loud, toilet with the kitchen, WiFi is not working, atmosphere not that cozy as I hoped. Even though the staff is nice.

Had a terrible experience with awful service where staff is petrified of the loud owner who keeps berating her staff in front of everyone and keeps being artificially sweet to the customers. She called a grown man - stupid quite loudly in front of everyone because he mixed up the coffee orders. I couldn’t wait to leave.

As a another loyal customer (referring to other recent reviews) sharing my concerns over the unprofessional and horrifying treatment of guests, by regular changing staff members. In the summer it was an Instagrammer who got prioritised seating outside while we were waiting inside for a table to become available on the terrace. No acknowledgment, we just ended up seating inside the whole time. This time we were asked to leave our seats over a group that arrived 5 minutes after us 3, despite the fact that there was no other table available that could fit us! We ended up leaving, even after pointing out that we almost come every day when in London it didn’t leave any empathy on even the permanent staff. Despite tipping them etc. all the time. Never left so disturbed and sad a breakfast place…. Therefore if you looking for that “Parisian being abused as a customer experience”, it’s the place to visit. Pastries are authentic and nice, omelettes are made with canned mushrooms, so not for everyone.

Terrible attitude from person running it.First I was ignored as person was more focussed on her phone then people waiting.Then after I sat down by the round table I was told that I sat in "wrong way" obstructing other tables near, however there was no other clients in the shop.There is about 10 tables in the place only inside. After telling the owner that she treated customer badly she started to talk in French to me.Clearly when you lose your ground in argument you become unpleasant and agressive like the owner. I do not speak french. Perfect way of making business losing the clients because of own ideology.

Staff weren’t particularly friendly. My pain au chocolat wasn’t fluffy and had little chocolate in it.

Very cosy place for petite dejeuner at reasonable prices. Service is brisk. Plating wise, just a small suggestion to plate your food in the middle and not sitting on the edge, leaving 3/4 of the plate looking lonely 😊 Mannered dogs (dogs that doesn’t cause problem) are allowed to sit indoor. This place is intended for adults which fit us perfectly. Although I’m sure mannered children are welcome too.

I come often, one of the best places in the area. The food is very good, the croissants and the pastries great. The staff is kind and nice but it’s kinda a slow so be prepare to wait, it’s worth it.

love the place, great reproduction of PARISAN cafe, including the moody staff, love the fact that sometimes they are fantastic and sometimes you want to throttle them .. food is great and very tasty, and great pride is taken in the cafe , and a great owner with an abundance of character, very old school and will only appeal to old school people, Woken Millennials will find the place to complex for their limited appreciation of life in general, they have no idea how to interact with other European cultures, if you want better service then speak French to them or at least drop in some French phrase or 2 show some respect for the Frenchness..

The food here is classic simple French cuisine done so sweet and nice. You think ‘yeah how good this eclair really be?’ And then it is the epitome of YUMMY. Restored my faith in cafes jn central london (generally awful) and I will be toodling here for brek and lunch and little treats again!

While I’ve been a loyal customer at this cafe for five years and have always enjoyed the food, I must express my deep disappointment with the recent decline in service. During my visit today, my toddler was simply playing with the menu when the waitress forcefully took it from her hands without listening to our concerns. Such rude behavior is unacceptable, and it’s disheartening to experience this level of customer service. I sincerely hope the cafe management addresses these issues promptly to ensure a more pleasant experience for all patrons.

The shop looked good on google review and I was keen to try it out. When I came in, the young waiter said I could pick my seat but as I was waiting on the seat, he didn't bother to come around. I left after waiting for around 15 mins without even having a menu to read. There weren't many guests in the store and I'm sure it wasn't peak hour as well. It's not the way for customers who were willing to pay and stay. I will not visit the store again.

Nice quaint little place in Kensington. It certainly evokes an atmosphere of a Parisian cafe. Unfortunately, for me, the positive experience ended there. Although I was the fist to be seated indoors (outdoor tables were full) I saw 3 tables of customers come, order and start eating before me. Waiting staff seemed indifferent to my gestures to order, so I finally had to leave. Perhaps I was plain unlucky but will definitely not visit again, given there is no shortage of nice cafés in the neighborhood.

Unterdurchschnittlich. Frühstück ist eher lieblos zubereitet. Personal leider nicht wirklich zuvorkommend. Backwaren sahen sehr lecker aus, haben wir uns aber nach der schlechten Erfahrung eher gespart.

The lady boss is indeed brusque and the staff are slow, but I suppose this is part of the whole experience of this place. The ambience is charming. The mushroom croissant was nice, the cafe latte could be better.

I’ve been going to this cafe for nearly ten years, the old owners/staff were incredible- warm, welcoming, kind, great menu, and nothing was too much trouble. The new staff are slow, rude and obnoxious. I’ve tried going twice recently; the first time the dark haired lady was seemingly hungover and didn’t want to be there, she was rolling her eyes and not listening when I order takeout food, I got into the car £20 later and the order was completely wrong and tasted awful. Second time slightly more pleasant, still felt like I was inconveniencing her in an empty cafe, I was served one mini piece of bread with two under cooked eggs on and some old bacon that had been re-fried, barely even looked like meat. This cost £15 tasted terrible and would barely feed a toddler. Another person sitting outside ordered the same thing and it was twice the size! These people discriminate. I just don’t get it, it’s such a lovely space and used to be fantastic. The chap who works there is lovely, the one consolation.

A home-like French patisserie right next to the Kensington Square gardens. The host and crew are super warm and welcoming and make you instantly feel like a part of them. Highly recommend their coffee. Perfect outdoor spot to kick off your Sunday morning with some sun on your face and a crunchy croissant on your plate.

An enclave of France at the heart of London. Cozy nostalgic little family cafe, frequented by locals of the neighborhood, especially the French-speaking ones. Cortado is alright. A little weak, like a mini latte. I was not here for specialty coffee anyways. Tomato mushroom spinach Galette with extra sheets is heartily loaded. I’m making progress with my daily veggie from the breakfast :> The galette Breton is crispy and not too salty. It’s impressive how such a thinner-than-paper pancake can hold so many fillings, though I really like buckwheat so I’d prefer it be slightly thicker. And the waffles and scones glittering in the morning sun as I went out of the cafe! Would have definitely given in to them if I hadn’t been eating too many cakes and ice creams these days. I’ll come back for them too.

Generally I'm going there to pickup some croissant for my granddad, yet this french woman's mentality is very bed there is no customer service mostly staff are busy in there personal tallk, she's extremely impolite, this isn't perfect spot to show you demeanor! Absolutely terrible help, if it's not too much trouble, keep away from this spot if possible..

A real French feel to it. Most staff are good but one staff member tried to overcharge me. A pity as it ruined that visit. It is very popular with female customers I have noticed. Can be very noisy. Je suis sourd!

A lovely local cafe. Super delicious Chicken Sandwich baguette! (I’m normally not a sandwich person at all), healthy salad, fresh French pastries - Pain au chocolat is super as croissant is! Very friendly staffs - Would definitely be back.

This cafe is super cute and reasonably priced. The seating is quite close together so be prepared for that. The coffee and apple/almond tart were delightful. Will be back!

Great Parisian bakery that we just stumbled by. Great chocolate croissant, waffles, eclairs and espresso. We'll definitely go back.
