I’m not one for taking the time to review anything, but I am impressed by Monsoon in Rustington. I am letting you know the food is perfect, extremely fresh and tasty. I’ve have yet to sample their menu fully but their Chic Vindaloo is the hottest and freshest and tastiest I’ve eaten. Being I’ve eaten the hottest curry in the world, I know my heat! My girlfriend agrees her food was vastly better than our normal Indian restaurant, sadly. But we’ll done Monsoon. The staff are professional and just great. I highly recommend these guys.

Food took over a hour to be brought out in that time 5 deliveries went out. Only 7 of us eating in the restaurant clearly priorities are in deliveries than in dine in customers. Very poor service

Very loud atmosphere, whilst staff was pleasant, waited a very long time on food (nearly two hours) with no sorry whatsoever. Expensive food that was bland. Shall not return.

Went to monsoon for the first time and would definitely return.. food absolutely gorgeous so delicious I didn't want the meal to end it was so lovely.. staff all very good place excellent.. went with friends and we all ate something different and we all loved it 😊

A very tasty meal here again. Portion sizes big enough to satisfy your hunger and fill you up, but not too much that you eat it and regret it. Use this as a meeting point to meet friends, lively enough background burble of people but not too noisy you can't chat amongst friends. Will continue to keep coming here! (Bring back the garlic rice please we miss that)

So frustrating having to wait 2hrs for our take away to arrive !!!! Monsoon need to sort out a better process for take aways .. we always know we are going to have to wait a while but come on 2hrs is a joke it's been on its way for the past 40 mins apparently .. !

Normally great food. Ordered delivery at 17:35 on a Saturday. Rang at 18:45pm for an update on the delivery. Got told it’s left and out for delivery. Rang back 15 minutes later as it still hadn’t arrived. Then informed it hadn’t even been sent.

Reheated food baghi stale and hard out of a £22 takeaway only potato was nice large lumps of cabbage stalks uncooked in vegetable curry accompanying the chicken biriani which was dry and bland wont be back

We ordered via their Deliveroo at 7, should have been delivered @8. Taken over 2hours. They lie on the phone when they can be bothered to answer if our food ready or has left well if that's so my food has been sitting in a car for over an hour. Won't be ordering from here again and will no longer be dining in. Awful customer care.

We ordered via their website at 6:05, it automatically said it would be with us at 7:15. We didn’t receive our food until 9pm. This was also after several calls and being told they’d try and get it to us in 20 minutes and then we didn’t receive it for another hour and half. I called at 8:30 trying to cancel it & they insisted it was already on its way. The restaurant is only a 5 minute drive from ours and we got a call 20 minutes later saying they were leaving. They obviously lied and just didnt want me to cancel my order. Nice curry but definitely not worth the wait, we won’t be ordering from here again.

The food is always delicious- but waiting an hour and a half to get it, listening to the phone constantly ringing, grumpy customers arriving to pick up delayed takeaways, and watching delivery drivers come and go ruins the evening. Such a pity. They need to stop the take away service if they want to run a restaurant- or just do takeaway Very very disappointing and frustrating. Be warned. Plenty other places to choose from.

Placed an order via just eat at 7.30 on Saturday evening, the order was almost immediately confirmed for delivery around 8.25-8.45. 9.15 came and still no food, so a call made to the restaurant to be told the food was not ready yet, but they would try to ensure it would be with us within 15 minutes. 9.45 I call again to find out what's happening, to be told the order is still in the restaurant and is not yet out for delivery. 10pm our delivery arrives. I know Saturday deliveries can be hit and miss, but if you cannot cope with the level of orders then simply refuse the order request rather than confirming and taking my money! By the time it arrived we were pretty much ready to go to bed after a long stressful day so we were unable to enjoy it, but to be honest there was not much to enjoy. The rice was sticky and clumpy and one of the Currys was full of oil which had also completely covered the contents of the bag in oil, but still leaving a pool of oil in the container. I would advise against ordering on a busy night if you actually want to have a meal at dinner time.

Monsoon Rustington has been a favourite of ours for almost 6 years, we used to live in Rustington and would often go for a curry or more too often get a takeaway - we moved to Angmering and still go there and they deliver too - brilliant food excellent service and we love it!

Had an early evening meal, my husband had chicken jalrezzi, I had butter chicken, we shared mushroom rice and peshwari naan. The service was pleasant, the restaurant is nice, the food was DELICIOUS

First visit since before lockdown. Was well worth the visit food was brilliant

Food is so good.... but unfortunately the service was so slow.... Took nearly 15/20 mins before we were even asked about drinks and that was only because someone else mentioned to the owners..... such a shame....

I really enjoyed the food here, I had a chicken Madras., It was excellent. The service was good and the cost was very reasonable (£75 for 4 people including drinks). I highly recommend you try it for yourself, I had a really nice evening.

Over the past couple of years, whenever ordering a takeaway, it has always been 30+ minutes late. Shame as the food is OK but because of the service we go elsewhere now a lot more.

This is the 2nd time we have ordered a delivery, always give benefit of the doubt but unfortunately I have to say terrible service and when I called to find out we're my food has gone , I couldn't get through when I finally managed to speak to someone they didn't seem to care that my delivery was over an hour late and just said every order is late and it will be another 20 minutes!! Totally unacceptable this Will be the last time I will be ordering from them

Ordered for collection from deliveroo, food tasted okay but my partner spent £8.5 on a chicken tikka which was half the size of my main and same size as the side and starter. Also you only get 1 popadom for 90p which is honestly a rip off. Way too overpriced and small portion sizes. Would never order again

This restaurant Monsoon has never disappointed me. Run by the best team in fine dining cuisine. Don’t just for for the ambiance, go for an experience and exquisite food. Also I have to give a special mention to Fahad. Total gentleman and fantastic in every realm. He always ensures I feel welcome and has catered to my individual needs. Would completely recommend this place and this professional.

Torn here on what to rate this, because the food was extremely good, but the service was dire and the restaurant itself was so cold that we, and many other people, were sat eating with coats on. Food - 5 dishes, all delicious. Cooked perfectly, tastes were spot on (it didn't all taste like one gravy tweaked for each dish), all steaming hot. Side dishes were also all lovely. Really can't fault the food at all. We didn't even have doggy bags as everything was eaten there and then. Genuinely great. Service - Appalling. We felt like we were an inconvenience the whole time. The waiter didn't raise a smile at any point, ignored my mum twice (no idea if this was on purpose or accidental, but she wasn't exactly whispering to him), and took ages to take the order. He did the drinks order by memory and forgot one of them, then when I asked for it he repeated it back to me, and because he was so dour barely opened his mouth, which led to him bringing the wrong drink as I misheard him. He was visibly unimpressed when I said it was wrong. You don't have to fawn over customers, but at least don't make them feel like you don't want them there from the get go. Temperature - it was properly cold. I went in in just a fleece, and had to get my coat to put over my knees. My husband, who doesn't really feel the cold, commented that he wished he'd bought his coat. The heating did appear to kick in about 40 minutes after we arrived (which incidentally was about 25 minutes before our food arrived as the waiter took so long to take our order), but even then there was a huge draught coming from the door as it appeared to not shut properly. It's obviously not their fault that it's bitter out at the moment, but they need to get the door sorted, or have their heating on full blast to remedy it.

Alright, I ordered food delivered and it was an hour late and I was grumpy when I wrote a previous review. Gotta say tho, when the food arrived it was excellent. Great curries and sides all well prepared and and really excellent spicing.

Took 1.5 hours for food to arrive we are just 5 mins drive away and I ordered at 5.35pm. The wait was too long and the food just wasn’t good enough when it arrived. Bland Lamb Khalia and partially raw Nan breads. Really disappointing.

Have a takeaway every week very tasty food

Im not happy to leave this review but it needs to be said. Since we were really hungry when we ordered and still the food was not good. We have enjoyed Curry in many places around the world over many years, sadly this has to be the most bland and tasteless we've ever had. We ordered 2 different curries supposed to be medium but there was no spice or flavour at all. The popodoms were also stale. 2 stars for the delivery being on time, friendly and polite.

Booked 3 weeks ago for a table for 8 people on Saturday night 10th September for 8pm. Turned up at the restaurant at 7.55pm no tables available, asked to wait, our party waited 15 mins to be told that they are waiting for people to leave. WE BOOKED OVER 3 WEEKS AGO. TOTAL SHAMBLES AND A DISGRACE! Asked to come inside and speak to the manager, what's he going to do? Magically appear a table for 8 people? ABSOLUTE JOKE. Avoid avoid avoid.

Haven't visited for a very long time...pre covid and longer. Food was delicious and service was great. Lovely ro see Jack's friendly face again. I won't leave it so long next time.

First visit to this restaurant. It was very busy. A bit of a wait for food but well worth it! Vegetable Passandra was amazing, probably the best I have tasted. Dupiaza was super. Chicken Madras could have been a bit more spicier I was told but still enjoyed. Staff are attentive and friendly. Will definitely go back!

Have eaten in and had many take sways over the past 4 years since moving to Sussex Take away last night - not great wether they have a different chef ? Really not great I had jalfrazi it was really oily and very dark - not like the usual I’ve always had toh had his usual biryani again odd cookies and not as good as usual Such a shame as a staple place to go when we have friends and family visiting Sorry for negative post but wanted to say not too impressed

Total shambles.... Avoid Been a loyal customer for some time, unfortunately the last two deliveries have been absolutely awful. Mains that used to be fantastic are now very sad, a Dansak and a Masala are now made with same universal sloppy gravy and taste indentical. The portion size has decreased to the point the foil containers have barely an inch. Last delivery was 40 mins late... Had to make 5 calls to find out where one delivery was, dependant who picked up they either weren't over bothered or reassured me it had already left when it clearly hadn't... Seems it's all gone wrong there. Raised a complaint for one delivery via Just Eat two months ago and Monsoon still haven't had the courtesy to get back to them. It is a shame and will obviously not be using anymore. It's a little more expensive but Rema in East Preston is far superior

Lovely food we were quite a big party with kids, and the waiters were patient. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because there was a bit of a wait for food.

We ordered online at 19:15 called at 20:32 to see when it would be delivered. Very apologetic. However, didn't receive our food in the end until 21:15. Food was barely warm. Quiete disappointed tonight

DO NOT ORDER FROM MONSOON FOR HOME DELIVERY. Ordered through just eat at 18:00 for delivery at 19:15. At 20:00 called to chase order and advised just eat ordering to blame and would be 20 minutes. 45 minutes later tried to call but would not answer but eventually did and advised it was being prepared. Eventually arrived at 21:06, nearly 2 hours late. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the delivery driver he advised lots of people were unhappy. The food however was really good but by that time we had lost our appetite. I would suggest Moonsoon stick to what they are good at being restaurant service only and not home delivery and certainly not lie to their customers about delivery times.

I ordered online. Went to collect but no order ready. But took my money. 2 hours later got food. Not impressed

Extremely slow service whilst dining in considering there were only two other tables the entire 2 hours we were there, one of which had already eaten when we came in. Despite prebooking a table it appeared the staff were not aware and had to quickly make up a table but luckily was quiet as mentioned. Food is not bad, better than your average curry house however 75 minutes for food to arrive is too long to wait. Restaurant itself is well presented, clean and tidy and in a good position on Rustington high street. Atmosphere was quiet at the time and annoyingly, the same song kept playing the whole time we were there. Overall, good food if you are in no rush but won't be going back based on the wait time

For the second time now we have ordered a meal for delivery, the first we were told 45 minutes this was delivered an hour and half later. Yesterday we were told an hour, after a quick call at 1hr 20 we were told another 15 minutes, 2hr 30 mins from our original order we drove to the restaurant and still had to wait another 15 minutes for the order to be ready. The food itself is okay, nothing special but okay. Monsoon is not fit as a delivery service!

Ordered online. Food was over an hour late. So was pretty much cold. Quality of the food itself was very poor too. I can't quite understand how the food can be so terrible. If this is their day to day quality of food. Surprised they are still in business. People around here can't have taste buds.

My wife and I had a meal here for her birthday. The staff were welcoming and the service was great. The food came out in good time and was delicious. We will definitely be eating here again. Thank you.

Although the food is good. I placed an order for delivery 2 hours ago and am still waiting. Maybe the Restaurant should inform customers of waiting times so that they can make informed choices, as to whether to place an order or not. Extremely disappointing!!! 😕

We have eaten at this restaurant and have used the takeaway service many many times. The food was always good however, the last four takeaways we have had have been inedible. One arrived so late, we gave up. I have had curry with human hair in and partially cooked chicken.

First time at Monsoon and I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. I would see definitely recommend this Indian restaurant.

Actually didn't want to give any stars. 2.5 hours until they they turned up with my food. After phoning twice and being told it was ready then still 30 minutes when I'm five minutes away. Now have to ring back again to get a refund shocking customer service. Will never use them again and will not recommend to anyone

After this long lockdown, this was my first venture into any Indian restaurant for a long time. Arriving at 7:30 on a Thursday evening, apart from takeaway customers, it was empty. Our group of four sat by the window, beers, poppadoms and chutneys arrived promptly, and straightaway it was comfortable and relaxed. Good conversation, tasty food, the evening shot by. Other diners arrived, ate and left, and we were the last remaining. We had had a great evening, capped off with complimentary coffees. I cannot thank the staff enough for their hard work and the quality of their hospitality. Great to be out again.

Ordered via Deliveroo, the wait time was up to 60 minutes - completely fine with that. My expected delivery time was at 20:30. This isn’t an issue, I purchased knowing this. It turns 21:00 (that’s an hour and a half), and I’ve still heard nothing. Having ordered only for one person, I would like to think this was a very simple turnaround time. But I gave them a ring to check where my order is. Turns out they haven’t even started cooking it because they forgot about my order. Still had to pay £18, for a meal that wouldn’t have even turned up if it wasn’t for my call. I’ll go somewhere else next time, service is terrible, and it turns out the food finally got to me at 21:20, almost 2 hours.

Ordered from here last night (17.04.21) via deliveroo. Fantastic discount and service from them. Food was delicious, best curry in a while, we ordered three mains, three rice's and two sides, couldn't fault anything everyone commented on how nice the food was. Food was also hot and not greasy. We will use again 👍

Moved into Rustington in January this year and after having a new kitchen fitted visited this restaurant loads of times and must say always really great food. Highly recommend and won’t go anywhere else! The specials are amazing like all there dishes! Can’t wait to eat in once Covid19 clears off! Great food and great service 😊

First time trying this place, reviews seemed good but am still waiting an hour and a half later! They said they hadn't even sent the food out yet so expect a delivery time of 2 hours for your food, would try somewhere that will at least tell you that before ordering!

I have dined at Monsoons for years with my family, when i lived in this area, and have always found the service and food excellent. I now live in Cornwall, but whenever i am visiting family and friends in the area, i make special effort to dine here. What a surprise to find after not dining here for some 2 years, to find the interior has had a complete facelift, and a good covid 19 spacing of seating, but even more of a surprise, the waiting staff remembered me, and asked how my mother of 95yrs was, who loved to come here with the family when she was alive. Good luck for 2021 and a 5*place in every way.

Late every delivery. 2 hour's late on new years even though we pre ordered and paid that morning and got a time slot.....definitely got re heated stuff before too

Good food and a big choice of dishes. We had a takeaway and only criticism was that it was 15 minutes later than advised. However I was happy to accept this as a trade off for very freshly cooked meals. Good value and pleasant staff.

I have used this restaurant for take away and the food has always been lovely, it comes so highly recommended by friends to. The problem was there was no food! I understand that restaurants can get very busy, so when my friends and I decided to have our first catch up of the year we made sure we booked a table ( for 19:30 we all have children to get home to). We arrived at 19:20 and waited outside the restaurant until 20:10 with no communication as to how long we would be waiting. It was ok we could see they were busy and understood sometimes tables over run with time so this wasn’t to much of an issue. We sat down ordered our drinks and mains, we didn’t need starters. The drinks came along with some poppadoms. At 21:40 we still hadn’t even had our meals put on the table. We had our 19:30 table and still hadn’t eaten at 21:40. We decided as we had no communication from staff that we would rather just leave. We spoke to a man at the front desk and asked to speak to the manager who was “ to busy” to come and talk to us about our experience. We were asked to wait a few minutes longer and that our food was almost ready. Reluctantly we paid for drinks and left very disappointed not just in the whole service but that the manager was also so busy that they couldn’t speak.
