Fantastic coffee, friendly staff. Always busy and long queues (even as early as opening times)! Can be difficult to get a seat inside due to size of shop and popularity. There are seats and tables outside. But absolutely first class coffee from various continents.

I've been to this shop previously and certainly enjoyed the coffee. However, on this visit, it was a rainy morning, and so the outdoor tables were not a good seating option. And the indoor tables (of which there are barely any) were full. So I asked for my coffee for takeaway. At this point, I was informed that the coffee shop won't do takeaway coffees unless you purchase one of their reusable takeaway mugs. This is in the name of "sustainability." What a sham: you won't serve me a takeaway coffee in a PAPER cup; instead, you want me to buy (yet another) reusable coffee cup, which will probably be thrown away and take longer to biodegrade than the paper cup. That's not about environmentalism; it's about this store making a few extra pounds by charging you for the coffee AND a cup you don't need or want. This place needs to get over itself. Save yourself the annoyance and go around the corner to another Seven Dials independent coffee joint that doesn't take itself so seriously and will happily serve you a takeaway coffee in (gasp) a biodegradable paper cup.

Absolutely the best coffee in London and by far. I have been going there for the past twenty years and I have never once been disappointed. All three brunches of Monmouth offer a great service> very clean premises. Each one has its own identity and character. Covent Garden is the smallest and oldest premises. Bermondsey now offer two days a week, Friday and Saturday. No seating but also well worth it if you are in the area. Borough market's offers limited seating, too. Always buzzing on a Saturday. Once ordered and seated, you can easily place a second order without leaving your seats. The croissants are also great. I also buy their ground coffee to use at home. Highly recommended!

First visit I could not get any coffee because they only accepted credit/debit card not cash - fair enough, there is a pandemic, second visit - a rude cashier and who allegedly "misheard" my order three times and then she (she is also a barista allegedly) poured me something bitter from which I nearly not recovered and almost died. I usually drink two, three cups of expresso a day and ordered my first black coffee of the day at about 2 p.m. The caffeine content was so high I stated shaking after 25 minutes at 2: 25 and had toilet runs every fifteen minutes, my temperature increased and my pulse must have jumped to 125 BMP at least. Rude service and nearly called the emergency. NEVER AGAIN and, please, let this be a warning to others.

The quality is excellent and the service is fantastic. It's no surprise that there's frequently a long queue. My only slight gripe is that those of us queuing just to buy some beans or ground coffee have to stand in the same queue as those buying coffee to take away. O wonder whether there is a way to fast-tracj those of us just looking to grab-and-go. Still. Great coffee by those who really care.

A very difficult restaurant to recommend because the variation is too significant between the highs and lows for somewhere at this price level. I have been three times and greatly enjoyed the kidd previously and the game pie most recently. There is often a need to salt the dishes. The desserts are always good. The school food element is appealing to many, but I find a limit to the appeal on dishes with little flavor. Apart from the food, the front room is lovely. There are a few tables in the cramped back of the ground floor which are far less nice. There is also a room in the basement (which I hope is rarely used). The time we most enjoyed was in the main room, but we were sat in the small back room the other two times. The service was competent but reserved. I googled dishes to find out what I was ordering, but there was little invitation to ask questions or real interest in helping diners enjoy their evening.

Plenty of room to sit on the ground floor or mezzanine. There's a toilet. Must be busiest in the morning, and so, expect a queue then. There were quite a few people around 5.30pm, but most people had gone by 6pm. The barista was not rude and had a smile when dealing with customers. You can get all kinds of coffee (like cappuccino, latte, iced, etc.) and sweet treats (like cake, muffins or chocolate).
