Incredible food. The hot pork belly dish is sensational. Add the fried egg. It works. Definitely only for those who like spicy. 😋 The club next door's music making the whole place vibrate just adds to the Bangkok feel of the place.

I visited your restaurant today and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. I would like to address a few concerns: 1. I had ordered an extra sweet chili sauce for which I was charged £1, but it was never provided with my meal. 2. Additionally, I paid for double portions but only received a single portion, which was very disappointing. I wanted to bring this to your attention in the hope that these issues can be resolved. I always try to support local businesses

Pretty bad Thai in my opinion. Waiter was nice enough but after we tasted our cocktails and asked if we accident ordered mocktails, he realised he’d ’forgotten’ to add the spirit. 🤔 The food was spicy but also bland. Not sure how they managed that…. And not forgetting having our main brought to us whilst we were still eating the starter. Would not recommend.

It's hard to recommend. On the one hand the Thai food here is decent, but nothing special yet still above average for the UK. But they can't deal with any requests - even simple ones. No ice in the Thai tea? no. Extra spice? Yes, but we're not going to bother to cut up the chillis properly for you. It's bewilderingly inconsistent: some dishes are excellent (the Tom Yum soup) others far from it (The Khao Soi felt like it made with yellow curry paste, instead of its own). How you feel about this restaurant will largely depend on what kind of experience you have in that moment

Had vegetable and tofu pad see ew with Tom yum soup, thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. flavour was on point, the Tom yum soup had a generous help of galangal and lemongrass, and noodles were beautifully wok-kissed (full of wok hei). They don’t skim on spice and chili so if you can’t handle spicy food remember to order mild spicy level. My friend ordered Tom kha soup and I had a spoonful of that, it’s a coconut milk based soup that’s creamy, not as spicy but still tangy and savoury. Would recommend Tom kha as well! So sad I don’t live in Leeds/York, but will defo visit again when I’m in Leeds. It’s a busy restaurant but staff members were friendly and service was prompt.

Thai prawn crackers for 3 and 1 tiny dip , had to ask for another which came 10 minutes later . This is a real find of you are into no frills, authentic Thai food. The flavours are great. My teenage sons love it. They off a full range of dishes with a choice of meet and some dishes buse unusual cuts of meet but that hasn't put my two from trying a number of them from the main menu. Black pudding and pigs stomach to name a few. I strongly advise you give it a try. Another plus is the service is quick you can in and out in 30 mins if you want a quick lunch. No need to book That said there are a few points to note. 1. The toilet facilities are poor. No water, no hand drier, only 1 ... Needs to improve. 2. The room and decor is basic, it's more street food and canteen environment so don't get dressed up! 3. Lunch menus good value at 10.95 for start and main ( bright together) from a limited menu. Designed to fill you up. 4. 10%off bill if you pay cash... If you want more upmarket try Zapp.

Modestly priced and a nice atmosphere - the only good things that can be said about this place. Ordered a beef dish, and what I was given contained one singular piece of chicken with the toughest, most flavourless vegetables I have ever had the displeasure of eating. Water was served somehow above room temperature in a decanter with no lid. Server skipped me when taking orders, and had to be reminded that I was also part of the group, and assumed that the curry that was being served was mine, presumably because of the colour of my skin. I would strongly advise another Thai restaurant if you are after friendly service and authentic food.

Me and my friend came to Mommy Thai for lunch. We had a male server who was nice however, didn’t know much about the service of the business. My friend asked for a drink recommendation and the server recommended the Thai ice tea. When the drinks arrived she took a sip and didn’t like it and asked a female server if she could exchange the drink for another one as it had barely been touched and the female server agreed. The bill came and we realised we had been charged for the £3 ice tea. We asked for them to remove it as the drink was barely touched and the female server said we were able to change the drink. As the male server didn’t handle the drink enquiry he went to get the female server who immediately started shouting at my friend, mocking and gaslighting her and denying ever agreeing to exchange a drink. This left me and my friend humiliated as she continued to shout at my friend and deny ever letting her exchange the drink and smirking in her face and speaking their language between one another in front of us as my friend defended herself. The manager then came and explained their no exchange policy which was never stated when we entered the place to begin with. If we were made aware of the policy it would have not been a problem however, we had only asked a question and it escalated to a humiliation fest. This female server has ruined mine and my friend’s experience completely as it was our first time dining there and we were left completely embarrassed in front of other customers dining. The female server was short, slim, had medium black straight hair. We were not able to get any names because they had no name tags and as we left the restaurant the female server then continued to mock my friend by saying thank you in a smug way. As a result this ruined our day as it left us feeling embarrassed, confused and humiliated. We never received an apology either.

We were playing in The Domino and had some time between soundcheck and stage time. Planned to eat in Zaap but it was jam packed so we went for a wander along Vicar Lane and that’s where we found Little Mommy Thai. It was busy but looked inviting so we chanced our luck and asked if they had room for 6. Within 2 minutes they’d made up a table for us. We ordered 5 starters and 6 mains (technically 5, I ordered another starter) and asked for it all together so the table could be turned around a bit quicker for them. Everyone loves their food. I had the tofu Satay and Tom Kha soup. Wow! I’m still thinking about that soup 3 days later! It was incredibly flavoursome! I love Thai food and thought I’d had some great dishes at home in Glasgow but this was another level. The satay wasn’t as you might expect - sweet chilli sauce with a generous topping of crushed peanuts but it worked so well. 2 of us had mango juice and absolutely loved it. The reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is that the bill was brought unprompted while we were still eating, with the waiter hovering for us to pay. This was only 45 minutes since we’d sat down. We really did appreciate them accommodating us as a walk in on a Friday night but rushing us so much at the end almost spoiled it. Saying that, the total bill was just £85.50 for six people including drinks, incredible value really.

The waiter was very apologetic it was an easy mistake. The restaurant is very authentic and the atmosphere is always good. The food was good don’t get me wrong I was in love with the red curry, but the service was questionable, the lady at the door seemed annoyed at us from the get go, i asked to move tables with two people but the lady at the door got angry when I asked, since it was too close to the door, we asked the waitress there and she wouldn’t let us move to another table, claiming it was a table for four despite the fact that two people before us sat on a table meant for four and the restaurant was astonishingly empty, the lady that took our order stood a distance away while we shouted our orders at her, the man that brought our water threw it on the table like we were animals begging for a sip, my partner and I debated if it were racially motivated but I kept it positive, while leaving we were told to pay at the door but while we stood there to pay the waitress told us to get out of her way so she could pass behind us, weird night after a busy day at work, but at least the food was good haha.

My regular Thai spot, nearby, was full, so I thought I'd give the New Kid on the Block a try. The interior is nice enough, but cramped, and the waitress left me standing there waiting to be seated at one of several empty tables. I can't say the service really got any better. They have a £10 lunch offer, for a starter and main course. As I had not been here before, I opted for one of my favourite Thai dishes, a massaman curry, with tofu, and corn cakes as a starter. The dishes were served together. The corn cakes were already smothered in sweet chilli sauce, and varied in temperature, from cold to lukewarm. The curry was a little different to any other massaman curry I've ever had, with no peanuts, for example, few potatoes, and a rather salty flavour. There was also very little tofu. I didn't enjoy it, and couldn't eat it all. Another drink might have helped, but the waiting staff did not return to my table, and I was not able to get their attention. Paying was a perfunctory experience, with no enquiry as to how my meal was. Cash or card is accepted. A disappointing experience I will not be in a hurry to repeat.

Good choice of vegetarian dishes. Easy to order. Delivered a few minutes earlier than estimated time by a friendly and polite man. A few extras included. Delicious all round!

Disappointing Experience Due to Hidden Service Charge I recently visited Prashad with a tasting menu voucher for two, and while the evening began well, the experience declined quickly. The first four courses were flavorful, though portions were overly large, leaving us full too soon. The dishes were also too spicy at times, with chunky herbs that detracted from the meal. By the time we reached the final three courses, including an underwhelming dessert, the quality had noticeably dropped. The menu itself was tasty for the first four courses—flavours were fresh and very aromatic. However, portions were much too big and we were full by the 4th course. My partner felt that the dishes were a bit too spicy at times and the herbs and aromatics could be quite chunky and need spitting out. Does not make for a romantic dinner date! The last three courses, including the dessert, were quite underwhelming. Service felt rushed, with plates whisked away too quickly. We felt that this was overwhelming and rushed the pacing of the meal. When it came to getting the attention of the waitstaff for other things, it felt like it took forever to get their attention. Service was slow and inattentive once the dishes were on the table, which diminished the experience. The atmosphere wasn’t great either, for a ‘fine dining Indian restaurant’ it felt more like a family style restaurant. Disappointing as we were expecting a more refined experience. We had to move seats as we were sat in the corner table initially, which was extremely cramped. Tables were so crowded together you could hear every conversation happening at once. This also made it difficult to hear the descriptions of the tasting menu- which were not delivered with the most enthusiasm… this would’ve been resolved if we were provided a tasting menu list on the table to follow, which is standard for such experiences. The real issue, though, was the unexpected compulsory service charge. Despite being labeled as “discretionary,” we were told it was mandatory for the tasting menu. This was especially frustrating as it was a gifted experience, and we didn’t expect to pay extra on a prepaid voucher. While I don’t mind paying service charge on drinks or extras, it feels unfair to impose it on the portion of the gifted meal. It would’ve been better if they had simply factored it into the overall price. We ordered £12.75 worth of drinks but with the service charge we were expected to pay over £24! They removed the service charge on the drinks after we told them to but they refused to remove the £8 service charge on the tasting menu! While the first few courses were excellent, the poor service and forced service charge ruined the evening. It’s a shame, as I otherwise might have recommended Prashad, but this hidden cost and lack of refinement mean I won’t be returning. Don’t expect Michelin-level dining here.
