Moltobuono in Bristol, City of

Was on a day trip to Bristol and my daughter suggested Molto Buono. What a delight?! The manager kindly arranged a table at short notice and was most charming throughout the experience. Super food. Top service. Will certainly be back to Molto Buono before long.

I was at Bristol for two days, on my own, and I’ve been told to go Moltobuono for a proper Italian meal. I arrived at 1:00 in the afternoon, and since the moment I sat, the service was magnificent. Simone, the owner, was a friendly lad who recommended me a few dishes and explained that they make fresh tagliatelle daily, but mentioned that the restaurant was also very popular for their pizzas. I ended up eating pizza, and it was beautiful. The sourdough, the flavour of the tomato and the ventricina were fresh and tasty. If you’re from Bristol, you already know that everything I just told it’s true. If you’re not from Bristol and you’re visiting the city, this is a mandatory stop.

Amazing, authentic Italian food. We ordered pizzas, which came to our table very quickly. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is perfect- with Italian music playing.

I chose this restaurant due to the fantastic reviews on Trip Advisor, but we found it a bit disappointing. Really nice atmosphere and decor. Attentive staff, but one was too chatty when we were trying to look at our menus. Busy, so a bit noisy. A 250ml glass of wine is £10.95 or a bottle is £29.90 which I feel is overpriced. They don't offer any house wine. The pizzas and pasta dishes are fine but not exceptional. Pizzas were not crisp enough on the bottom and had wide crusts but the toppings were nice, especially the mozzarella. Pasta portions could be a bit bigger. Desserts are all frozen, tiramisu (small) served in a foil tray. Cannoli too frozen to enjoy. Ice-cream small and not well presented. Shame the desserts are not home made. I did talk to a staff member about the frozen cannoli and he said it was the fridge, but he kindly took the price of the desserts off the bill, which was appreciated. Staff are all lovely. We only had a 1.5 hour slot, which I didn't realise when I booked. We therefore felt a bit rushed at the end. I go to a lot of Italian restaurants, but I don't think I'll come back to this one.

What a lovely place , great food , fresh and delicious , great ambience, staff were delightful , accommodating and so kind. We needed to reschedule and they were amazing despite how busy they always are. Happy evening.

Well, actually it’s Sardinian, but don’t let that put you off! The menu is quite limited with main courses of pizza and only one sort of pasta but go on, indulge yourself, this place is marvellous and the linguine is wonderful and cooked to perfection- it’s probably the best I’ve ever tasted (and, believe me, I’ve eaten a lot of linguine) To finish your meal off, try the Sardinian digestif mirta, you’ll be glad you did. I came here for an evening meal with four friends. We hadn't booked and they were very busy (a queue formed outside shortly after we arrived) but luckily they managed to squeeze us in. I'd suggest booking to avoid bitter disappointment. We shared some white wine which was very nice and then some foccacia which was delicious, particularly the garlic one. For my main dish I had a mushroom and garlic pasta which was gorgeous. Really really tasty. Everyone else was satisfied with their food apart from one friend who complained about the portion sizes. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly service.

Such a great atmosphere at this restaurant. Delicious food- recommend the focaccia. We were sat upstairs with the fairy lights and hops adorning the ceiling. Great view of the street and the Saturday evening activity and service was fast even though they had a couple of big tables. Staff were friendly, accommodating and attentive. Delicious food. The pizzas were stunning. In reflection we should have had the pasta which looked even nicer. Anyway, this place is heaving and we had a reservation. The buzy, buzzing atmosphere is something you just need to relax into and let it charm you. We had Greco di tufo wine - our favourite - absolutely delicious and one of the better grecos we’ve had in the U.K. a really delicious antipasto to share (large portions) were followed by wonderful pillowy pizzas. We didn’t have room for dessert but the couple next to us demolished very tasty looking desserts with glee. This place attracts all ages especially younger people and students. The menu includes those delicious, favourite but simple dishes you rarely see outside Italy like tagliatelle with butter and sage and cacio E pepe which when it’s good is a rare find

Very nice place full of atmosphere and the host Simone and staff amazing . Only in Naples I can find a pizza like that simply the best.

Went for an early pre theatre supper before we went to see Hamilton. Couldn’t have had a better experience. Lovely, happy staff many of whom are Italian and a buzzing atmosphere. Feels like you’ve walked into an authentic Italian restaurant. Excellent friendly service. And the pizzas we chose were superb. We will be back!

Although they were very busy here and it was good of them to fit us in, I had the most unpleasant pasta meal. I went for the mushroom and parmesan pasta with butter. What came was as though someone had melted a whole pack of butter over some pasta and then served it. It tasted of basically nothing, and left me feeling sick for the rest of the evening due to how greasy it was. At the end, the bowl was left with a huge pool of butter in it. I could have made the same thing at home for about one pound rather than sixteen...not that I would have wanted to. My wife had pizza, which was okay, though not as good as other pizza places. At £7 a glass, even the cheapest wine here is also overpriced. They seemed like a nice bunch, but we probably won't be coming back

Best pizza in Bristol, if you want to feel like you’re in italy , should definitely visit molto buono, very good atmosphere, food is magic, and the whole staff is very funny and will look after you , in another words this place is something else :)

Not generally the spot for a quiet romantic dinner - it's crowded, noisy and casual - mostly a young crowd. Popular for something to eat before a concert at St George's round the corner. Better book otherwise you might have to queue. Really good pizzas and pasta dishes and a page devoted to vegan meals. Excellent tagliatelle with truffle/pesto etc. Simple dessert offerings - gelato, tiramisu, cannoli etc. Service isn't bad but could be swifter - we would have had dessert/coffee if they had been quicker off the mark but as it was, we ran out of time. Reckon on about £25 a head

Friends had raved about this place so had high expectations but they were far exceeded. From the welcome from Simone and his brilliant comedy having us chuckling almost constantly, the lively atmosphere even early evening, excellent service and then the food .. I've had a memory of a calzone I ate in Italy 20 years ago which is finally matched, and in Bristol. This place feels like a tiny piece of Italy in every way and I'll be back a lot. Simone and his team make you feel like the most important customers in a full restaurant and serve delicious food.

My son and his girlfriend booked to celebrate an event and I thought I'd get in there early and pay for them as a treat. The team at Moltobuono went above and beyond! They gave them such a wonderful evening they were absolutely buzzing afterward. The ristorante made it very special indeed and, whilst I sadly didn't get to try the food, they said it was delicious, filling (they took dessert home with them) and that the staff were wonderful and attentive. My friends and I went for dinner here. It was our first time. It’s a lovely warm ambience. Simone, the owner, is welcoming and friendly. Kept us laughing through the night. The rest of the staff is responsive and friendly as well. The food was good, flavourful and fresh. You can definitely feel and taste the passion put into this place. Food was served in a timely manner with no compromise on quality for either the pastas or pizzas. The price of the food is quite affordable with the dishes below 20 pounds. I highly recommend Moltobuono and will be returning to try the famous tiramisu!

So child friendly - staff here made my 2 year old’s day - food is excellent as well - I had the Naples pizza - my child had the pasta and ice cream for his dessert - good value and a lovely experience

Right in town to grab a quick bite after running errands. There's also parking spots all around if you are planning on going there. The pasta is fresh and absolutely amazing. The manager is always going above and beyond with everyone and you can see it. Been multiple times for different occasions and they've never disappointed.

We were lucky to get a table on a Friday evening. This seems like a popular date spot, and caters for a range of people, families seem welcome as well. The pizza was excellent and food arrived quickly. The team of young servers did a very good job working together to serve in a crowded restaurant.

This cozy family run restaurant is like a piece of southern Italy hidden in the streets for f Bristol. Zio Simone will give you a warm welcome. Best pizza ever in England!!! I might even dare to say that it feels like you are in Naples. The pasta was also tasty! Don’t miss out on the tiramisu!

We were lucky to get a table in this very busy restaurant. Best to book ahead if you can. When we arrived the place was buzzing, which is always a good sign. The service was very quick and friendly. The menu is simple but very good Italian food. Pizzas and Pasta, but nothing fancy. The pasta options are just Tagliatelle with simple sauces, but exactly like you get in Italy. Will definitely go here again if we visit Bristol, especially the theatre as just around the corner (but uphill)

We went on a Sunday night and the place was packed! Easy to understand why - the atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are friendly and service is great. The sourdough pizzas are excellent , but there's not much else on the menu - not a complaint, great if you love pizza. Would recommend, will go back.

My friends and I are often debating the best pizza in Bristol and MB is often mentioned. It didn’t live up to expectations sadly and it was not good value for money at all, these guys have got far far too expensive. £19 for their most expensive pizza?! That’s crazy. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely and authentic. We had a garlic pizza bread for entree which came cut up in a bowl and was actually the best part of the meal. This was £5 which is okay We both got pints of their lager, pints weren’t filled up to the top (not even the foam up to the top as I know a pint glass it often not filled), beer came in Peroni glasses which is confusing as they don’t serve peroni Now to the pizza, this was the let down, I believe Neapolitan pizza is not meant to be super crispy but this pizza had no crispness on the base at all, the crust was oddly empty, the tomato sauce was good, I got the Italian meat one (£15 for just this one topping) cost too much for what it was. Did seem like good quality but Bosco is 10* better value for money, their top pizzas with piles of toppings are £15 and the pizza is better hands down.

Amazing restaurant and food. Very typically Italian with great attentiveness from staff providing recommendations on food, great up selling skills! The restaurant was packed but they fitted us in. Only downside is difficulty in booking, they were not answering their phones all day or the previous day, no on line booking or email so only choice was to walk in.

Another terrific visit to this gem of a restaurant today. Fabulous food and immaculate service combine to make this always a place to remember and return to.

A little bit of Italy in Bristol. Amazing pizzas with the best crusts! Cosy, relaxed atmosphere with a great Italian family feel to the place.

They were so accommodating here. We hadn’t booked but they made sure we had a table and were well looked after. The burrata is delicious and incredibly fresh. I had the cacio e pepe with added truffle and it was amazing. Can’t believe we haven’t tried here sooner.

Lunch with two friends. We had tagliatella with pesto and with beef ragu and a pizza with pancetta. The pasta was very al dente and had clearly been par-cooked and then reheated. Okay, it means it arrives quickly but there is a noticeable effect on the texture. The pizza base looked slightly soggy to me but my guest enjoyed it and it had a full leopard's quota of spots around the rim. The pesto was excellent and either freshly made or from a top-quality supplier. One of us had a cornetti alla ricotta to finish that seemed to hit the spot; the owner/manager also treated us to an entertaining lecture on the recipe and how the 'Americano' got its name. Hence 5 stars, but the food is really more 4 star.

We didn't have a table booked, but the manager was very accommodating and sorted a table for two immediately. The service and food was absolutely superb. If I'm ever in Bristol again, I'll be straight back for a visit.
